Essay on George W. Bush
George W. Bush
George Walker Bush is the son of the 41st President George H. W. Bush and Barbara Bush. Born
on July 6, 1946, Bush was raised in Houston, Texas and was the oldest of four children. Bush
finished his high school years at Phillips Academy, which was an all male boarding school in
Andover, Massachusetts, where he was the head cheerleader during his senior year. Bush went
to college at Yale University from 1964 till his graduation in 1968 where he finished with a
Bachelor s degree in history. In the fall of 1973, Bush attended the Harvard Business School,
where he earned an MBA. He is the only US President to have earned an MBA. He also is the first

His campaign focused on four themes: welfare reform, tort reform, crime reduction and educational
improvement. He won re election in 1998, becoming the first Governor in Texas history to be
elected to two consecutive four year terms.
In June of 1999, while still Governor of Texas, Bush announced his candidacy for President of the
United States. In the final showdown, it was between Bush and Vice President Al Gore in one of
the closest elections ever. After a third recount, Bush received 271 electoral votes to Gore s 266
and became the 43rd President of the United States. However, he lost the popular vote by more
than half a million votes. His fist initiative as President was the No Child Left Behind Act, which
raised standards in schools and insisted on accountability in return for federal dollars. The most
significant event during Bush s reign came on September 11, 2001 when terrorists hijacked
several planes and attacked American soil killing nearly 3,000 people. In response to the attack,
Bush established the Department of Homeland Security and announced the War on Terrorism
which still continues to this day. Bush focused his attention on Iraq, labeling them as part of an
axis of evil . He proclaimed that they were in the possession of weapons of mass destruction and
had to be stop. Eventually, they captured the Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein but no weapons were
discovered. In 2000 and again in 2004, Bush was named the Person of the Year by Time magazine.

The United States National Debt Essay
Many Americans today are aware that the United States is in debt, however, some may not realize
by how much. Currently, the United States National Debt is up to 18 trillion dollars and is
steadily increasing. This is a serious problem for the U.S., especially for millennials, who are going
to be the ones living and dealing with the debt left behind for them. Increased spending, borrowing
from China, and interest on the moneyborrowed are setting up our economy for an eventual crash,
one that the upcoming generation may not be prepared for. Every dollar that accumulates into the
debt will have to be repaid with interest at some point, making it harder to pay back. To gain a
better understanding of how the U.S. dug itself into such a deep hole, one should start at the
beginning of where the debt started. Entering into the twentieth century, Americans usually only
made bigger purchases if they had the total amount of money ready to be used all at one time.
Once the idea of credit became popular, Americans started to make those purchases sooner and
they only had to pay back the money small amounts at a time. This method of spending raised the
standard of living in America while also raising the level of debt. It took off from there, people
became hooked on being able to pay small amounts of a big purchase in increments instead of one
lump sum. Government programs also started accumulating debt of their own. Eventually, the
United Stateswas racking up debt into several

The Human Brain And Brain Disorders
the human brain can be burdened with various diseases and disorders. Since the brain acts as the
bodies control system, any malfunctions can result in serious problems to the entire system,
including memory, sensation, and even personality; factors such as illness, genetics, and trauma are
a few of the main things that cause Braindisorders. (Brain Disorders) Degenerative diseases,
psychiatric diseases, brain tumors, brain injuries, and addiction are some major illnesses that
come into play. Degenerative diseases are passed down through generations; an enormous forty
five million people are affected by these conditions, all across the world. Alzheimer s, ALS,
huntington s, and parkinson s disease are all categorized as degenerative diseases. Depression,
schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder are classifies as non other than psychiatric disorders; luckily,
these disorders can be treated with therapy. There is a variety of auspicious options that can be
chosen from accordingly for the patient. Additionally, many individuals suffer from addiction;
while everyone is at risk of addiction in some way shape or form, a few are at higher risk than
others. When a person is suffering from this dreadful condition, they do not think rationally, and
tend to act upon impulses; the craving is at such an intensity in some cases, that the individual is
willing to put everything at risk, and disregard whatever the consequences may be. Biologically,
the chemical makeup and structure of the brain itself undergoes alterations under the
circumstances that the individual repeats his or her use of drugs. By exciting the nerves within
the reward center of the brain, the recipient experiences a feeling of thrill themselves. (Brain
Facts) When a brain undergoes a serious blunt trauma, There is a high chance that brain tissue,
neurons, or nerves could have been severely ravaged, and this may lead to a variation of negative
conditions; hematomas, blood clots, contusions (bruising of the brain tissue), concussions, strokes,
and cerebral edema (swelling within the skull of a person) are all high on the list of disorders
caused by injury to the brain. The ability to connect with the rest of the human body may be very
distorted, therefore,

Environmental Impact Of The California Of Marine Animals...
On January 28, 1969 there was a well blow out which occurred during drilling in the Santa Barbara
Channel in Sothern California, an estimated 80,000 to 100,000 barrels of crude Oil was spilled into
the channel and its surrounding, this incident caused significant impact of the ecological
composition of the system, thousands of marine animals were killed and biodiversity was distorted.
The Santa Barbara oil spill and the already growing environmental interests in the 1960s led to the
enactment of the National Environmental Policy Acton January 1, 1970, its purpose was to promote
the enhancement of the environment, and it required executive federal agencies to prepare
environmental impact statements (EISs) and environmental assessment (EAs)... Show more content

These actions are defined at 40 CFR 1508.18. The environmental review under NEPA can involve
three different levels of analysis:
1.Categorical Exclusion determination (CATEX)
2.Environmental Assessment/Finding of No Significant Impact (EA/FONSI)
3.Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) (United States Environmental Protection Agency, 2017)
Since the passage of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA), federal agencies have
been required to consider the potential environmental consequences of their actions, and to bring
the public and other stakeholders into their decision making process. NEPA has been critical to
meeting the environmental goals this Nation has set for itself (Larson, Hess, D Avanzo, Stanley,
Sumpter, 2015).
One of the case studies highlighted by U.S. Department of Transportation s Federal Highway
Administration (FHWA) is the reconstruction of Interstate 29 Fargo, North Dakota. The Interstate
29, spreads from Kansas City, Missouri to the border between US and Canada in the state of North
Dakota, it is a corridor for local and International trade and transportation while there were some
underdeveloped agricultural lands adjacent to it.
The project consisted of the improvement of the roadway capacity and level of service,
improvement of access to and from the interstate, improvement of roadway access / continuity,
replacement of deficient pavements, across the interstate as it was considered in a poor state.

My Moral Philosophy From An Organization Perspective
As I attempt to summarize my moral philosophy from an organizational perspective, I believe it
will benefit both the reader and I to establish a basis from which to begin. I have a strong belief in
the ideas of environmentalism, to a certain degree. Our environment plays a significant role in our
development and lends itself to the shaping of our actions. I find there to be an enormous truth to
the words of pioneer psychologist John B. Watson.
Give me a dozen healthy infants, well formed, and my own specified world to bring them up in
and I ll guarantee to take any one at random and train him to become any type of specialist I might
select: doctor, lawyer, artist, merchant, chief, and yes, even begger man and thief, regardless of his
talents, penchants, tendencies, abilities, vocations, and race of his ancestors. (Watson, 1924, p. 104)
To add context to his concept, he followed this up by stating I am going beyond my facts, and I
admit it, but so have the advocates of the contrary ant they have been doing it for many thousands
of years (p. 104). In addition to the works of Watson, I also developed my moral philosophy from
my involvement with sports from middle school up through a short stint in the Global Basketball
Association. Each level contained its own set of challenges and life lessons that further developed
how I function as a leader within my organization. ClichГ©s such as never cut corners, hard work

Analysis Of The Novel Adirondack Sundown
Alexis O Dell

24 October 2017 Adirondack Sundown Essay
Assignment
The Adirondack Park is a significant location in the novel Adirondack Sundown. Graham Scott
and Sarah Waters were picnicking one day at Rockwood State Forest when Graham suddenly had
to go back to work, Sarah stayed behind to take pictures of the scenery and then, she was abducted.
Many places in the Adirondacks are very significant to the story. Some places in the Adirondack
Park that are in the novel are Kane Mountain, Rockwood State Forest and Old Forge.
South of the Adirondack Park is where Kane Mountain is located. Kane Mountain was formed by
glaciers during the ice age. The mountain is between several lakes, including Pine Lake and
Canada Lake. The hike to the top of Kane Mountain is moderate in difficulty. There are many trails
that exist. The most commonly used trail is the East trail departing from Green Lake Road.
Kane Mountain plays a significant role in the novel because a character named Kane Johnson, who
abducted Sarah, and his sister Caroga lived here. The Kane Mountain Observation Station played a
huge role in the novel also.
The Kane Mountain Fire Observation Station is a historic location on Kane Mountain at Caroga
Lake in Fulton County, New York. The station includes a 60 foot tall, steel frame lookout tower
erected in 1925, an observer s cabin built about 1960, and foot trail. The tower and trail are
contributing resources. The tower is a prefabricated structure built by the Aermotor Corporation
and provided a front line of defense in preserving the Adirondack Forest Preserve from the hazards
of forest fires. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
The 858 acre Rockwood State Forest is located in Fulton County just south of the Adirondack
Blue Line between NY 29, NY 10A and NY 10. There are nearly five miles of old roads that are
used for cross country skiing in the winter as well as hiking the rest of the year. The main feature
of this state forest is the scenic Rockwood Lake, located off the North Loop Road Trail. The state
land is used for water quality protection, recreation, wildlife habitat and timber production. Some
characteristics of Rockwood would include, Hiking,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Content Management System
CMS or content management system is a congregation of various types of tools applied on the
internet to construct, create and manage online content. CMS is a software installed on the web
server which helps in publishing, managing, storing and archiving various types of content like
videos, audios, blogs, articles, press releases, presentations and any other type of content on the
internet without storing it on a computer. This allows the clients to make any changes they want to
the content without uploading every time. CMS hosting also allows the clients to simply login and
access their websiteto make additions, alterations and delete any content they want. These changes
are instantly updated on the website though the client can set a timeframe... Show more content on

The software keeps the articles and web design separate which gives the content contributors to
freely make their contributions without bothering about the web design having to be updated in
every page. The CMS software can update menus and links between pages on the new content that
is created by the various contributors and it does not create any obstruction to the performance
while the pages are being recreated.
There are many CMS hosting platforms and the customers have to keep a few considerations in
mind when selecting a CMS.
The first point is the type of website that is being built. The website could be a blog, commercial or
an entertainment site. It could be news or a forum or an educational portal. The choices are
many and there are possibilities of a website serving dual purpose of promoting the company as a
business industry and secondly as an e commerce platform. Yet another point the client has to
consider is the purpose of their website and whether CMS hosting is required or not. Thirdly it is
better to check if the CMS has a good community support. There are many free open source CMS
that have very good support through forums and

care for the individual certain areas are set up into three four different stage s. The first stage

some level of personal protective equipment. Another zone is the warm area where most of your
decontamination work takes place. If these sites are not broken down into smaller section there
would be mass confusion on which individual to treat first. That way it is important to separate by
category and injuries. Explain why triage, treatment, decontamination, and morgue areas should be

Essay on Determination
Some people believe that talent and a winning attitude are all you need in order to succeed in your
endeavors, but a winning attitude means having determination, which many people lack. As seen
on wisdomforthesoul.org, Real leaders are ordinary people with extraordinary determination.
Determination is an important factor in the overall success or failure of a person s efforts.
Unfortunately, determination is not something that comes easy to the majority of people. To be
truly determined, a person must first be passionate about what they re doing. Passion, however, is
only the first step towards resolution and determination. One must have a clear goal in mind, and be
willing to do anything to achieve said goal. Once they have set... Show more content on

(www.merriam webster.com) This is synonymous with my personal definition of determination.
When the end is decided upon, there is no reason or desire to change said goal. A person under
the influence of determination is comparable to a train. The train will not change its direction,
as it cannot, and no matter what, the train will continue along the tracks until it either reaches its
destination, or is stopped by the conductor. For as an example, my plan after high school is to go
to college, and then move into the professional world. When confronted about possibly wanting
to join the military, my answer is absolutely not. Going to college right after high school has
always been my mindset, and there s no way my determination will let that change. I am the
metaphorical train, because my destination is set, and there s no chance for me to adjust my
direction. I will not stray from my goal, because it would mean wrecking myself and all those
involved in my endeavors. There will be mountains in front of me, and people I may have to run
over to reach my goal, but when one s mind is set, they will not waver, and neither will I.
Another dictionary defines determination as firmness of purpose (thefreedictionary.com). When
one is determined, they are ready for what life throws at them, because no matter how obscure the
path may be, they always have a clear view of their final destination. To be determined means to
always know

Captain Knows Analysis
Often times in a theatre troupe, three different groups tend to stand out amongst the crowd. In this
troupe, there are the Captain Knows how s, the Diamond Shiner s, and the Queen s of Drama.
They all have their perks, except when their special instincts take over and steal the show.
The first group is the Captain Knows how s. This group is often the shy, quiet personality in the
whole troupe. However, if the director needs a task done they always find this group. No matter
what, or how hard the task is, the Captain Knows how s will never cease to amaze. Beware, they
may seem friendly, but if caught in the midst of them and without a tool in hand, know that death
is near. This group is also known to be blessed with patience , because they sit with the Queens of
Drama when they need a hand. Nevertheless, this group knows how to get the job done and a
phrase commonly heard is, Trust me, I know how, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

careful in speaking with a member of this group because you may lose the love of a song, due to

their group with the occasional conversation with an outsider. Just because they sing every song
ever written, does not imply that they can remember every song. However, if started in the right
track they will sing the lyrics until they are threatened to stop. These individuals are also mainly
the ones that are seen as the leads in a play production. They are secretly hated by everyone, but

The old man was lamenting to his son the fact that he had lost all his hair, which, in the days of
his youth, had been the envy of all the other young men. (And some women, although he was not

the night sky. As his father was going on and on about the color his hair had been, (a beautiful
golden blond), the son had an idea. Father he said, pointing up to the sky, do you see that cluster
of stars up there, just beyond the lion? The father studied the sky for a moment, then nodded.
The son continued, Does it not look like your hair did, in the days of your youth? The father
studied the sky again for a minute or two then nodded again. Well, the son continued, if the sky
shows your hair then you will not need to describe it any more, as it is forever immortalized in
the sky, your gift to humanity. The father turned to his son with tears in his eyes, and gave the lad
a giant hug, thanking him for giving him his hair back. There on the road, the father and son had a

Fall By Sanry Wadsworth Longfellow Poem
Blessed warmth begins to fade, the insidious chill of winter begins to stretch its ever present
fingers. People begin rejoicing, filling the air with the abomination that is pumpkin spice. The
trees lose their shades of green, fading to warmer hues nature s pitiful attempt to compensate for
the heat of day failing. These same leaves litter the ground, filling the air with a rank of decay and
deterioration; men and women are forced to collect and dispose of the leaves. Children glumly file
back into school, preparing themselves for the next eight months of incarceration. Halloween
decorations begin appearing on people s houses, lining streets with cartoon pumpkins and skeletons.
In John Keats poetry, as well as in Samuel Brydges and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow s poetry, fall
is portrayed in a favorable light, idolizing the chill and change wrought by autumns arrival. All
three poets use bright and vivid imagery to convey the wonder in Keats and Brydges poems, while
Longfellow imbues his poem with a sense of majesty.
Keats, forever the romantic, uses a hopeful cant and a vivid lexicon to create a hopeful image of
the fall season. Keats tosses around the reminder of the bountiful harvest in the first stanza, talking
about the apples, gourds, and nuts; he says that they swell and grow plentiful, to the point that he
says the trees bend with apples. (Keats, 5) Keats also says that fall winds sweep across the land,
showing up in everyone s stores, in their fields, and by

Young People Coming Of Age
In many ways, coming of age today is much the same as it was in the 1950s and 60s. Young
people in the Valley grapple with most of the same issues we older folks did. But kids of
previous generations were not subjected to many of the issues they are now, and the environment
in which they grow up is quite different. The bicycle as a mode of transportation for kids has
largely been replaced by Mom carting them everywhere. Free time to play outdoors has been
replaced by organized everything. Working to earn what you need or want has been replaced by
fundraising. And as always, there is pressure to conform to whatever the current social norms are.

Don t get me wrong, it s awesome that as kids we are pushed to work hard and that we are
surrounded by very intelligent people. However, many times it gets to be way too much.
Also, growing up here gives you a relatively naive view on the world. We live in a very rich and
privileged area. We have no idea what the real world is like. I wasn t even going to mention it
because it seemed so normal to me, but the reality is, most people do not have the newest iPhones
and iPads. Most people don t own MacBook pros or have their own Google Glass. It s not normal
for your high school s parking lot to be filled with cars that cost over $30,000.
There is a huge divide between the wealthy and the working class, and the area is extremely
expensive. Our teachers can t even afford to live in the area. Some of them drive over 2 hours

attend Palo Alto High School. Their lives are drastically different from ours. There is a huge
divide between the kids living in East Palo Alto and the kids living in Palo Alto. Although people
are generally accepting, there is definitely this idea of them not being as good as us. If your

San Diego Beaches In Florida
San Diego is a city in California that has about 17 miles of coastline, which offers a variety of
beaches ( San Diego Beaches ). Pacific Ocean is the ocean that borders coast in California. Three
major rock formations can be found in the North County beaches in San Diego, which are Bay
Point Formation, the Torrey Sandstone, and Del Mar Formation. Bay Point Formation is about
100,000 years old, which is also the youngest rock formation, and it has a higher possibility for
erosion to occur (Metzler). The Torrey Sandstone is about 46 million years old, it has a lighter
color than Bay Point Formation, and it is hard enough to provide protection for the softer Bay Point

The main reason for the difference is that the two places are at different sides , one in the east,
the other in the west, and because of this difference, the weather at these places can also have a
big effect on the beaches. Erosion is a process that occurs at both the beaches in San Diego and
Northeast Florida. The only difference between the two is that in San Diego, the erosion occurs
on the bluffs, while in Florida, it occurs on the dunes. Both the natural and human activities
cause erosion to occur at both places. The activities include the weather, such as the storms can
wash away the sand, which will eventually cause erosion to occur, and human building structures
near the shorelines can allow erosion to happen. Although erosion is still occurring at the
shorelines, people have tried to do some activities that can help reduce or slow the bluff and
dunes erosion at both places. In San Diego, people have built sea walls and placed riprap along
the shorelines to help prevent erosion. Sea walls are usually made up of boulders, steels, and
concrete and they are more expensive to build than the riprap (Metzler). Riprap is placed on the
sand along to the shorelines of the beach, it is usually made up of rocks, and it is less expensive
than building sea walls (Metzler). The purpose of both the sea walls and riprap is to help protect

One Survivor Remembers Film Analysis
In the movie One Survivor Remembers narrated by Gerda Weissmann there are various scenes
that are very powerful. One of many scenes that I feel was the most powerful to me was when
Geirda explained to us how she left her mother. I m not that certain as how she told her story, but
I remember her saying it started with SS officers coming to her town and taking all the women in
cattle cars. Since Geirda was young they sent her with the other young girls of the town and
separated her from her mother since her mother was older of age. Her mother and her would then
be separated from each other and unfortunately never see each other again. She explains that when

After the Airborne operation in support of the beach landings in Sicily on D day resulted in
Paratroopers and units being spread across a hundreds of miles as well as multiple aircraft being
shot down by friendly forces. Many of the senior leaders were applying vertical thinking, calling
for the scraping the 82nd and sending its personnel out to reinforce their ground forces on the
front lines. The leaders of the division utilized a problem solving model. Whetten and Cameron?s
(2014) problem solving model consists of four steps; define, generate solutions, evaluate those
solutions, and then follow up and refine (p.175). James Gavin defined the problem on D day as
aircraft becoming disoriented preventing the accurate delivery of Paratroopers. He then generated
solutions with the Air Force pilots and his fellow Paratroopers. After they evaluated the solutions
they selected the one that all thought would the best fix to the issue. The final solution was that
they would develop Pathfinder units that would be dropped anywhere from 24 to 48 hours prior to
the units airborne operation. Once on the ground the pathfinders would move to the selected drop
sites and turn on beacons that would help guide the pilots into the drop zones. James Gavin just
needed a way to test his new tactics in combat. On September 9th, 1943 he got his chance the

Summary Of God, The Founding Fathers, And The Making Of A...
In American Gospel: God, the Founding Fathers, and the Making of a Nation, Jon Meacham
explores the dynamic relationship between religion and government in America in the hope that
contemporary America can learn from the past. The period covered by the book spans from 1620
until Reagan s presidency in the late 1980s. However, Meacham focuses on the Founding Fathers
stances and their continued impact on American politics. More specifically, the book details the
conflict over the separation of private religious expression and the more neutral public religion .
One of Meacham s main purposes in writing the American Gospel is to correct common
misconceptions of both secularists and evangelists in addition to moderates. In doing so, he quotes

Although, Meacham notes that it was an excuse to search for gold in a new land as Virginia s
charter instructed the settlers to search for all Manners of Mines of Gold, Silver, and Copper.
Only 3% of that charter was about God (61). While the Spanish went to great lengths to convert
the natives of Mexico, the English did not. Meacham mentions the criminal treatment of Native
Americans perhaps three times and implies that religion was a factor (65). Nonetheless, he does
not linger on the topic and provides no specific details. This is rather surprising considering his
description of Andrew Jackson s era as a time of religious revival and growing nationalism (141).
A time during which Jackson signed the Indian Removal Act and his successor Martin Van Buren
authorized the forced removal of the Cherokee people from their native lands in what became
known as The Trail of Tears. Yet Meacham ignores this completely while instead comparing Jackson
s stance on religion and government to that of Thomas Jefferson. Similarly to his discussion of
Native Americans, Meacham classifies the religious and cultural implications for the faiths and
customs of those brought here in bondage as largely overlooked, but fails to expand upon the topic
of African American slavery and its effects

The Same Rights As American Citizens
2.The same rights as American citizens. It is unfair to arrest millions of undocumented immigrants.
Conservatives only support legal immigration and oppose amnesty for those who enter the U.S.
illegally (illegal immigrants). Those who break the law by entering the U.S. illegally do not have
the same rights as those who obey the law and enter legally. The borders should be secured before
addressing the problem of the illegal immigrants currently in our country. The Federal Government
should enforce current immigration law to ensure not only our safety, but the illegal activity taking
place in our country today. There are other good alternatives to welfare. Private charities can
successfully serve the poor. Arnold Kling quotes, Those organizations that work directly with
poor people stand a better chance of learning how to meet their needs (Bily, 2009, p 71). He
believes charitable organizations are more flexible, accountable, and efficient. The poor would be
better served by a new tax policy directing more money to private charities and less to the federal
and state government. The role of charitable organizations is better than the government as a source
of aid. It is easier for donors or volunteers to hold charitable organizations accountable than it is for
taxpayers to hold government accountable. Failed government programs can go on forever, but an
unsuccessful charity has a more difficult time obtaining adequate funding. In 2005,

Vampires And Pop Culture
We have been living in the era of vampires and any other kinds of monsters for a while now.
Vampires have always been relatable creatures, which allows fans to connect with vampire
characters. They represent the attraction towards being a vampire and having eternal life and are
presented to popular culture in a way that is attractive and relatable to the evolution of vampires
(Del Toro and Hogan 37). Over the past years, vampires have jumped in popularity and pop
culture appeal, taking over our television sets, the movie theaters and box offices and books from
around the world. Around 2010, Hollywood released four vampirefilms along with a bunch of
vampire DVD s, and the immensely popular television series like the vampire diaries and true
blood continued to air due to how popular those shows are. One monster I d like to put as an
example would be vampires Blood Thirsty: Why are Vampires Ruling Pop Culture? by Lindsay
Bradshaw. They are the latest trends to appear on pop culture`s radar, but this is not the first time
its caught the publics eye. Vampires have been a constant presence in the literature and film world
since the 1897`s publication of Bram Stoker`s Dracula, arguably the best vampire text of all time.
The idea that vampires exist across the globe has been a subject of folk tale, superstition, and myth
throughout the history of man. Even before the famous Dracula, the word vampires was originated

The Case Of The First Waco Horror
Farming was the way of life for a majority of Texans up until the Great Depression. Life was
simple and cyclical planting, waiting, harvesting, and selling. This cycle, broken only by racial
violence, was all Texans knew. However, as Texas grew increasingly connected to the modern
world, through technology, a global economy, and an expanding role for the United StatesFederal
government, that simple life began to change, and not necessarily for the better. All three books
show this shift and the effect on the life of everyday Texans. In the case of The First Waco Horror,
increasing connectivity to the United States and even the world helped to begin to change the view
of Lynching and the anti lynching movement gained... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bernstein s book focuses on how connectivity helped to end lynching, as well as how it increased
lynching. The NAACP used the lynching of Jesse Washington to spread awareness of the
atrocities committed in the South and the need to stop them. As Bernstein points out, the Jesse
Washington lynching, was just the barest beginning of a battle that would last for many years
(Bernstein 174). News of the Jesse Washington lynching spread around the United States, and
even made its way to a British Newspaper (Bernstein 130). The national and international news
coverage began the battle to increase public awareness, and would eventually lead the dying out
of lynchings done by huge crowds. Lynching, however, is an enigma because increasing
connectivity led to more awareness of the issue, but it also increased lynching. As population
shifted and the U.S. became more interconnected, for example, during WWI, a rise in the need
for Anglos to control their ever changing environment led to a resurgence of the KKK in the
1920s. Lynching increased as a method of social control and while it was more socially
inappropriate, the number of lynchings did not decrease significantly until after WWII. Therefore,
in the case of racial violence, increased connectivity was a double edged sword. Sitton and Utley s
book is a compilation of interviews from small landowners in Texas, whose existence was a
combination of subsistence farming and production of

Improving The Target Market Of Panera Bread
Expanding the target market of Panera Bread is a good growth opportunity for them. This can be
achieved by product line (menu options) extension or by entering international market outside the
American continent so as to increase their geographical coverage. In addition, Panera has an
opportunity to get additional market and growth by adapting rapidly to changing market and
customer preferences. They need to advertise and market themselves as a healthy option for
eating out. Health oriented food or food that are low in calories, sugar, cholesterol, etc. is getting
very important as people started becoming very health conscious and selective. Their effort to roll
out new products with fresher ingredients such as antibiotic free chicken needs to be further
expanded. Recognizing the health risks associated with transfat, Panera had completely removed
all transfat from its menu by 2006. Organic food, non GMO, etc. They could increase number of

Frankenstein And The Modern Prometheus
Introduction Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus is a sci fi novel composed by Mary
Shelley. This is the story of a science understudy, Victor Frankenstein, who made a beast amid
one of his trials. This beast ends up being an inconvenience for Victor. The creature depicted as a
living being with all the emotions and feelings, and his appearance of beast was a huge issue
when he felt that individuals dreaded him, and they abhor him. He would not like to murder
individuals; indeed he attempted to spare a young lady, yet because of dread a man attempted to
execute him as a beast. Victor s sibling additionally attempted to shout when he saw him, in his
endeavor to keep the kid calm, he strangled the kid. To stay away from all these killings, he asked
Victor to make him a female with the goal that he can leave this spot with his mate and will never
come in broad daylight. Victor concurred, however when he understood the results of this entire
type of creatures, he slaughtered the fragmented female. Creature attempted to take reprisal and
murdered Victor s wives. The story was an incredible achievement and confronted negative
feedback before all else. Commentators consider it as a sickening awfulness story; however with its
prosperity it got different positive remarks. Thesis Statement The strongest topic in this novel that

Augustus Caesar and Emperor Nero Comparision
I believe that being a beloved leader has a huge effect on being a better ruler. In 44 B.C. Julius
Caesar was assassinated by his senate chamber. Soon his nephew and adopted son, Gaius
Octavian, would join forces with Mark Anthony and Marcus Aemilius Lepidus into a three way
dictatorship. This transformed Rome from being a Monarchy into being a dictatorship. Lepidus
left Rome soon after Octavian began reign and went on to lead parts of Africa and Hispania. In 37
B.C. Mary Anthony met Cleopatra. They fell in love and Mark followed her back to Egypt.
Octavian took reign over Rome and obtained the name AugustusCaesar. Mark Anthony and
Augustus became enemies and war broke out between Rome and Egypt. This is one reason for

Women gave birth during his shows and some people faked being dead just to be dragged out of
it. Some people even went as far as jumping off the ledge of the theater to their death. These
plays would go on for several days without any breaks. He attempted to set fire to Rome just so
he could rebuild the city. In my opinion, the action that Nero is most known for is for
persecuting of Jews. Nero would crucify Jews for spreading Christianity throughout Rome. Nero
was the persecutor of the apostles Paul and Peter. Nero was a violent leader and a leader who
was definitely, not beloved. In conclusion, being a leader that is beloved has a huge effect on
being a better leader. For example, Augustus Caesar was so favored that his name was passed on
through all the emperors all the way up to 476A.D. The roman citizen would hold festivals just
in honor of Augustus. They loved Augustus which made Rome a happier place all in all. In the
other hand Nero made Rome become a dark and violent empire. I believe that good rulers always
work their hardest to please their people and have positive influences on them. People want a
leader who incurages them and is always striving to help the empire grow

Leadership Styles With Personal Leadership Style
Leadership
Leadership is a vital part of the business environment because it entails of giving direction to
member in order to accomplish a common goal. Leadership styles are important aspects of an
organization because certain techniques are more effective in different situations. When leadership
is effective, then the outcomes are positive and desired goals are attained. This paper will explore
the different leadership styles with reference to my own personal leadership style. It will give
reasons why a participative style works best in the healthcare profession.
Leadership Styles
There are four types of leadership styles that describe the amount of interaction a leader has to its
members. The leadership styles include autocratic, consultative and participative and free rein
leaders (Lamberton Minor, 2014). Autocratic is a leadership style that has the leader as the
dictator giving direction to members to follow. The group members are expected to follow the
orders without inquiry and focus on task completion. This style leaves little room for individual
development among its members however, can be effective in situations that demands strong
leadership such as in crisis situations. Consultative leadership style involves having the leader
spend a decent amount of time conferring with other members on ways to tackle the situation.
Under this leadership, tasks are delegated to the proper individuals with the right skill set fit for
job. The focus is on

Angels In America Film Analysis
Well to begin, instead of a scene from a class episode, I would choose a specific show itself, and
that would be Angels in America for this particular question. First off, after analyzing as well as
doing more researches on this film, the authorial intent of Angels in America is that Tony
Kushner, the author, wants to use the style of epic theater, where there are multiple, overlapping
scenes as well as political theater inspired by Brecht, to create this play. Having a style of
political theater in this play of Angels in America, Kushner wants the audience to view the
characters as having personal identity and sexual orientation responsibility. It is also where the
society will judge based off of what they see but not how it is really like

The Effects Of Sexual Abuse On A Child
According to a study in the U.S., one in four girls and one in six boys are sexually abused before
they turn eighteen years old (Wurtele, 2014). Abuse to a child whether in the form of physical,
emotional, sexual, or neglect is never acceptable. Children are our future, and we should treat our
future with respect and guidance in order to ensure a happy and safe environment for all.
Unfortunately, many children are abused around the world whether it is physically, emotionally,
sexually, or through neglect. Sexual abuseto a child, to many, is unthinkable. Who could do such a
thing? Through research, there seems to be a connection between sexual abuse as a child, and
prostitution. The impact that sexual abuse has on a child should not only be further researched in
order to gain a better understanding, but should also prevented and raise awareness towards the
issue. Effects
Sexual abuse, like any form of abuse, can have an abundance of effects on an individual. One
study claims that partnered with sexual abuse, is often a lack of parental involvement (Vigil,
Geary, Byrd Craven, 2005). This may be due to the lack of monitoring the child, or in the case of
incest, a lack of respect towards the child. With women, sexual abuse can result in a lack of self
worth, low self esteem, and an unhappy view on their overall body image (Vigil et al., 2005). The
researchers also suggest that a child who has been sexually abused may become sexually active
earlier in their life compared to

British North Americas Founded in the 17th century there were three major regions made up the
British North Americas. The North or New England region, the Middle Colonies and the Southern
Colonies. The regions had different climate, geography, population, politics, economy and religion.
Within each region the way they lived, worked, worshipped and did business was different. The
North or New England Colonies consisted of states such as New Hampshire, Massachusetts and
Rhode Island. The Middle Colonies consisted of states such as New York, New Jersey and
Pennsylvania. The Southern Colonies consisted of states such as Virginia, the Carolinas and
Georgia. The North or New England Colonies were known for fishing and they had great timber
forests. The timber forests made for great shipbuilding which was great, because they had busy
seaports that distributed trade goods all over the world. The Middle Colonies were known as the
thriving laborers and worldly city folk. The landscape of grain and the iron mines created a
thriving middle class. The Middle Colonies had a very diversity of nationalities which created the

Method Sample and research design This study is based on survey responses from 1606
Kosovan entrepreneurs who completed questionnaire in face to face interviews during
December January 2002 2003, 2003 2004, 2004 2005 (thereafter 2002, 2003 and 2004). SME
surveys were conducted by Riinvest Institute for Development Research and one of the authors
had a leading role in this research project. Samples were selected randomly from the business
register kept at the Statistical Office of Kosova and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (2005).
Interviews were conducted by experienced and trained final year students from the Faculty of
Economics at the University of Prishtina and monitored carefully by the Riinvest research team.
Respondents were key informants, mainly the owner or the general of companies. The response
rate was very high with an average of 96.4 percent. The exclusion of these observations might
lead to sample selection bias, but in our case this is not a concern as the non response rate is
very small (around 3.6 per cent of total cases) and also our sample remains still representative
(see, Cameron and Trivedi, 2005). Pooling data. The pooled data technique is used to test set of
econometric models of firm growth. The pooled data contains information from three independent
surveys from the period 2002, 2003 2004. An independently pooled cross section technique is
obtained by pooling randomly sampled cross sections at different points in time (Wooldridge 2006).

Eukaryote and Prokaryote Bacterial Cells Differences
Abstract
This paper explores the functional anatomical differences between prokaryote and eukaryote
bacterial cells and the process by which substances move across the cell membranes. The cell
theory is a widely accepted explanation of the relationship between cells and living things. The
cell theory states All living things or organisms are made of cells and their products, new cells
are created by old cells dividing into two, and cells are basic building units of life (Tortora et al,
2002) Prokaryotes and eukaryotes cells are chemically similar in their composition ... Show more

Its division is by binary fission. Prokaryotes have no histones, their DNA is not associated with
histones whereas, and the DNA of eukaryotes is consistently associated with these special
chromosomal proteins called histones and with no histone. Bacteria species are differentiated by
morphology, biochemical activities, source of energy and chemical composition. Bacteria comes
in great many sizes and several shapes. Most bacteria range from 0.2 to 2.0 um in diameter and
from 2 to 8 um in length. Three basic cellular arrangement of bacteria shapes are coccus( spherical),
bacillus (rod shaped), and spiral(twisted), Only pleomorphic bacteria like rhizobium and
corynebacterium can assume varieties of shapes.
However, among the structures external to the prokaryotic cell wall are the glycocalyx, flagella,
axial filaments, fimbriae and pili. Many Capsules Prokaryotes secret on their surface a
substance called glycocalyx (meaning sugar coat), which surrounds the cell. This is referred to
as capsule when it is firmly attached to the cell wall. The presence of a capsule can be
determined by negative staining. If not organized or is loosely attached to the cell wall, the glycol
calyx is serves described to be a slim layer or extracellular polysaccharide. Capsules protect
pathogens from phagocytosis and cell adherence to surfaces thereby providing nutrients to the

This work would have been located in a private Flemish home for private worship but it now located
in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The Annunciation is significant to history because
it demonstrated the shift of public worship at a church to private worship in the home. This shift
would eventually lead to the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century.
Annunciation, the fresco, clearly demonstrates the focus on religion in the 15th century. The
fresco is part of numerous frescos that were commissioned by the abbot of the Dominican
monastery of San Marco. The purpose of the fresco was to give religious reminders and instill
piety into the monks who were dedicating their lives to prayer. There is even an inscription at
the bottom of the work that reminds the monks to say a Hail Mary when they pass the work. Fra
Angelico was greatly influenced by two Gothic artists Gentile da Fabriano and Masaccio. The
influence of Fabriano is evident in the drapery and detail of Gabriel s wings which give a
decorative style to the fresco. The influence of Masaccio can be seen in the use of realistic depth.
The work also uses linear perspective which can be seen in the line between garden and the
architecture. However, the lighting and the proportions of the figures within the architecture are
irrational. It could be said that these artistic mistakes were

Once on board the best thing to do is to shut off all the gadgets, drink some water, breathe
deeply, meditate then simply go to sleep. This short nap of 45 75 minutes not only stimulates my
body system but also gives a sense of freshness. This idea could go well with players since they
hardly get sound sleep because of their hectic cricketing schedule.
2. EAT HEALTHY FOOD ADJUST WELL WITH CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.
I always follow good eating habits. The best time to have a healthy meal is while staying in hotel.
I generally have a high protein breakfast with oatmeal yoghurt with a bowl of skimmed milk. But
at times there are various business meets conferences where i strictly follow my rule : NO JUNK
FOODS.
Similar situation arises with cricketers who during the whole course of tournaments like IPL have
to attend meets greets, conferences,ad shoots where there is highest possibilities of snacks like
muffins, pastries, cupcakes on serving tables keeping away from this stuff surely helps the players
to keep their blood sugar level under check which do not make them feel tired while they are on
field diving from one end to other to save boundaries ultimately saving few runs for their team.
Avoid having breads, pastas and other highly processed foods in lunch since they tend to make you

Planning: A budget provides a detailed plan of action for a business over definite period of time.
Detailed plans relating to production, sales, raw material requirements, labour needs, advertising
and sales promotion performance, research and development activities, capital additions etc., are
drawn up. By planning many problems are anticipated long before they arise and solutions can be
sought through careful study. Thus most business emergencies can be avoided by planning. In
brief, budgeting forces the management to think ahead, to anticipate and prepare for the anticipated
conditions.
2. Co ordination: Budgeting aids managers in co ordinating their efforts so that objectives of the
organisation as a whole harmonise with the objectives of its divisions. Effective planning and
organisation contributes a lot in achieving coordination. There should be coordination in the
budgets of various departments. For example, the budget of sales should be in coordination with the
budget of production. Similarly, production budget should be prepared in co ordination with the
purchase budget, and so on.
3. Communication: A budget is a communication device. The approved budget copies are
distributed to all management personnel which provides not only adequate understanding and
knowledge of the programmes and policies to be followed but also gives knowledge about the
restrictions to be adhered to. It is not the budget itself that

IPsec and VPN
IPSec
Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) is a set of protocol for establishment of securing Internet Protocol
(IP) communications. Safety on data was established through process of authentication and
encryption of each IP packet in every communication session. At the beginning of the session,
mutual authentication between agents will established and cryptographic keys to be used will
arbitrated during the session. IPsec can be applied in protecting data flows not only between pair
of hosts and pair of security gateway but also for between a security gateway and a host.

VPNs can be either remote access or site to site. In a corporate setting, remote access VPNs
allow employees to access their company s intranet from home or while traveling away from the
office, and site to site VPNs allow staff member in geographically disparate offices to share one
cohesive virtual network. A VPN also be used to interconnect two similar networks over a dissimilar
middle network. VPN systems may be classified by the protocols used to tunnel the traffic, the
tunnel s termination point location, whether they offer site to site or remote access connectivity,
the levels of security served or the OSI layer they present to the connecting network.
Therefore, in order to prevent exposure of confidential information, VPNs generally allow only
verified remote access and make use of encryption techniques. VPNs provide security by the use of
tunneling protocols and through security procedures such as encryption. The VPN security model
give confidentiality such that even if the network traffic is sniffed at the packet, an attacker would
only see encrypted data, sender authentication to prevent unauthorized users from accessing the
VPN and message integrity to detect any occurence of manipulating with transmitted messages
Secure VPN protocols include the following; Internet Protocol Security

United States V. Melgar Case Study
Even If This Court Was To Find That Ms. Brie s Authority to Consent Was Ambiguous, This Court
Must Still Find that the District Court Properly Denied the Defendant Appellant s Motion.
1. The district court correctly held that ambiguity should not defeat her reasonable apparent
authority because allowing it to do so would impose an unreasonable burden on police officers.
The district court s holding that allowing ambiguity to defeat apparent authority would
unreasonably burden police officers by forcing them to clarify the consenter s authority over every
container within the area they were permitted to search should be upheld as it is one that is
supported by persuasive precedent from a sister circuit of this Court. See United States v. Melgar,
227 F.3d 1038, 1042 (7th Cir. 2000). In Melgar, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh
Circuit uses Supreme Court precedent to support the position on ambiguous apparent authority
stated above. See id. (citing Wyoming v. Houghton, 526 U.S. 295 (1999)). The Seventh Circuit
states the Supreme ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit holds that when officers receive
consent to search with no limitations, only spaces and containers that appear to obviously not
belong to the consenter are excepted from their search. See, e.g., Synpe, 441 F.3d at 136 37. The
Seventh Circuit holds similarly that if officers do not have positive knowledge that the consenter
does not have authority over the space or container prior to the search, then the search is
reasonable. See, e.g., Melgar, 227 F.3d at

The Lord s Second Presence
1874 The fact of our Lord s second coming is definitely settled by the Scriptures.. The Scriptures
show that his second presence was due in 1874.. This proof shows that the Lord has been present
since 1874 .. The indisputable facts, therefore, show that .. the Lord s second presence began in
1874. {WT Mar 1 1922 67 }
1874 The Lord did not come in 1844, and the world was not burned up with fire .. this was a great
disappointment to those holy people who had so confidently looked for Christ ( Michael ) then to
appear and to exalt them with him in power and glory. But, notwithstanding the disappointment,
[Miller s] movement had its designed effects of awakening an interest in the subject of the Lord s
coming, and of casting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The disappointment of 1844 is briefly recorded in the parable, by the statement that the
Bridegroom tarried i.e., he seemed to the expectant ones to tarry. And the confusion and darkness
experienced by all, and the many false and visionary views entered into by some who were there
disappointed, are shown in the parable by the statement: While the Bridegroom tarried, they all
slumbered and slept. Yea, and in their darkness and slumber many of them dreamed strange,
unreasonable things. But the parable shows a second movement, similar, and yet different, among
the same virgins. The same general class is referred to but not necessarily the same individuals. As
the first movement was the result of light upon the prophecy, regarding the time for Messiah s
second advent as the Bridegroom of the Church, so was the second movement. But there are
several differences. In the first, the lamps of all the virgins burned alike, and the company
expecting the Bridegroom was mixed; whereas in the second movement, while all will be
aroused, only those will be led out who have the spirit of the truth in their hearts, as well as a
knowledge of the Bible a trimmed lamp. Disappointment was predicted for the first movement, and
waiting for the 1335 days was necessary; but the second was not a disappointment, and a waiting
was no longer necessary; for fulfillment came exactly at the close

Essay on Robert Jensens Patriotism
Many people believe that they are patriotic people. But, what truly makes one patriotic? In Saying
Goodbye to Patriotism Robert Jensen critiques the effects of patriotism on today s modern society,
the United States, and globalization after the attacks on 9/11. Jensen defines patriotism in his talk
delivered to the Peace Action National Congress as love and loyal or zealous support of one s own
country. (Jensen 741) But, that is not the only definition of patriotism. One may love living in the
United States so does that make them patriotic? Patriotism is probably one of the hardest words to
define in today s society.
Jensen presents two alternative definitions of patriotism in his speech. The first one suggests that
patriotism is to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the leaders of the country just keep creating policies and the majority of the citizens just accept
them as they are, then this country really isn t that big of a democracy as one may think it is.
In Jensen s talk, he also gives a quote of Emma Goldman s that states, Patriotism assumes that our
globe is divided into little spots, each one surrounded by an iron gate. Those who had the fortune of
being born on some particular spot, consider themselves better, nobler, grander, and more intelligent
than the living beings inhabiting any other spot. It is, therefore, the duty of everyone living on that
chosen spot to fight, kill, and die in the attempt to impose his superiority upon all others. This
sounds a lot more like what patriotism is today. War is something that has always existed and
even in this modern day in age, it is still considered the best way to resolve conflict. Jensen feels
war in Afghanistan is barbaric because of the fact that people seem to think that their lives are
more valuable than Afghanistan citizens and if innocent Afghans have to die then so be it to
achieve the goals of the United States. But, are the goals of the United States truly patriotic? What
are the real goals of the United States as it embarks on a new war on Iraq? From an Afghani
American s standpoint Tamim Ansary compares modern day Afghanistan to Nazi Germany and he
does a pretty good comparison when he states; When you think Taliban, think Nazis. When you
think bin

The most significant event during Bush s reign came on September 11, 2001 when terrorists hijacked several planes and attacked American soil killing nearly 3,000 people. In response to the attack, Bush established the Department of Homeland Security and announced the War on Terrorism which still continues to this day. Bush focused his attention on Iraq, labeling them as part of an axis of evil . He proclaimed that they were in the possession of weapons of mass destruction and had to be stop. • 3. The United States National Debt Essay Many Americans today are aware that the United States is in debt, however, some may not realize by how much. Currently, the United States National Debt is up to 18 trillion dollars and is steadily increasing. This is a serious problem for the U.S., especially for millennials, who are going to be the ones living and dealing with the debt left behind for them. Increased spending, borrowing from China, and interest on the moneyborrowed are setting up our economy for an eventual crash, one that the upcoming generation may not be prepared for. Every dollar that accumulates into the debt will have to be repaid with interest at some point, making it harder to pay back. To gain a better understanding of how the U.S. dug itself into such a deep hole, one should start at the beginning of where the debt started. Entering into the twentieth century, Americans usually only made bigger purchases if they had the total amount of money ready to be used all at one time. Once the idea of credit became popular, Americans started to make those purchases sooner and they only had to pay back the money small amounts at a time. This method of spending raised the standard of living in America while also raising the level of debt. It took off from there, people became hooked on being able to pay small amounts of a big purchase in increments instead of one lump sum. Government programs also started accumulating debt of their own. Eventually, the United Stateswas racking up debt into several ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. My Moral Philosophy From An Organization Perspective As I attempt to summarize my moral philosophy from an organizational perspective, I believe it will benefit both the reader and I to establish a basis from which to begin. I have a strong belief in the ideas of environmentalism, to a certain degree. Our environment plays a significant role in our development and lends itself to the shaping of our actions. I find there to be an enormous truth to the words of pioneer psychologist John B. Watson. Give me a dozen healthy infants, well formed, and my own specified world to bring them up in and I ll guarantee to take any one at random and train him to become any type of specialist I might select: doctor, lawyer, artist, merchant, chief, and yes, even begger man and thief, regardless of his talents, penchants, tendencies, abilities, vocations, and race of his ancestors. (Watson, 1924, p. 104) To add context to his concept, he followed this up by stating I am going beyond my facts, and I admit it, but so have the advocates of the contrary ant they have been doing it for many thousands of years (p. 104). In addition to the works of Watson, I also developed my moral philosophy from my involvement with sports from middle school up through a short stint in the Global Basketball Association. Each level contained its own set of challenges and life lessons that further developed how I function as a leader within my organization. The hike to the top of Kane Mountain is moderate in difficulty. There are many trails that exist. The most commonly used trail is the East trail departing from Green Lake Road. The station includes a 60 foot tall, steel frame lookout tower erected in 1925, an observer s cabin built about 1960, and foot trail. The tower and trail are contributing resources. The tower is a prefabricated structure built by the Aermotor Corporation and provided a front line of defense in preserving the Adirondack Forest Preserve from the hazards of forest fires. As seen on wisdomforthesoul.org, Real leaders are ordinary people with extraordinary determination. Determination is an important factor in the overall success or failure of a person s efforts. Unfortunately, determination is not something that comes easy to the majority of people. To be truly determined, a person must first be passionate about what they re doing. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (www.merriam webster.com) This is synonymous with my personal definition of determination. When the end is decided upon, there is no reason or desire to change said goal. A person under the influence of determination is comparable to a train. The train will not change its direction, as it cannot, and no matter what, the train will continue along the tracks until it either reaches its destination, or is stopped by the conductor. For as an example, my plan after high school is to go to college, and then move into the professional world. When confronted about possibly wanting to join the military, my answer is absolutely not. Going to college right after high school has always been my mindset, and there s no way my determination will let that change. I am the metaphorical train, because my destination is set, and there s no chance for me to adjust my direction. I will not stray from my goal, because it would mean wrecking myself and all those involved in my endeavors. There will be mountains in front of me, and people I may have to run over to reach my goal, but when one s mind is set, they will not waver, and neither will I. • 13. Fall By Sanry Wadsworth Longfellow Poem Blessed warmth begins to fade, the insidious chill of winter begins to stretch its ever present fingers. People begin rejoicing, filling the air with the abomination that is pumpkin spice. The trees lose their shades of green, fading to warmer hues nature s pitiful attempt to compensate for the heat of day failing. These same leaves litter the ground, filling the air with a rank of decay and deterioration; men and women are forced to collect and dispose of the leaves. Children glumly file back into school, preparing themselves for the next eight months of incarceration. Halloween decorations begin appearing on people s houses, lining streets with cartoon pumpkins and skeletons. In John Keats poetry, as well as in Samuel Brydges and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow s poetry, fall is portrayed in a favorable light, idolizing the chill and change wrought by autumns arrival. All three poets use bright and vivid imagery to convey the wonder in Keats and Brydges poems, while Longfellow imbues his poem with a sense of majesty. Keats, forever the romantic, uses a hopeful cant and a vivid lexicon to create a hopeful image of the fall season. Keats tosses around the reminder of the bountiful harvest in the first stanza, talking about the apples, gourds, and nuts; he says that they swell and grow plentiful, to the point that he says the trees bend with apples. The only difference between the two is that in San Diego, the erosion occurs on the bluffs, while in Florida, it occurs on the dunes. Both the natural and human activities cause erosion to occur at both places. The activities include the weather, such as the storms can wash away the sand, which will eventually cause erosion to occur, and human building structures near the shorelines can allow erosion to happen. Although erosion is still occurring at the shorelines, people have tried to do some activities that can help reduce or slow the bluff and dunes erosion at both places. The leaders of the division utilized a problem solving model. Whetten and Cameron?s (2014) problem solving model consists of four steps; define, generate solutions, evaluate those solutions, and then follow up and refine (p.175). James Gavin defined the problem on D day as aircraft becoming disoriented preventing the accurate delivery of Paratroopers. He then generated solutions with the Air Force pilots and his fellow Paratroopers. After they evaluated the solutions they selected the one that all thought would the best fix to the issue. The final solution was that they would develop Pathfinder units that would be dropped anywhere from 24 to 48 hours prior to the units airborne operation. Once on the ground the pathfinders would move to the selected drop sites and turn on beacons that would help guide the pilots into the drop zones. Although, Meacham notes that it was an excuse to search for gold in a new land as Virginia s charter instructed the settlers to search for all Manners of Mines of Gold, Silver, and Copper. Only 3% of that charter was about God (61). While the Spanish went to great lengths to convert the natives of Mexico, the English did not. Meacham mentions the criminal treatment of Native Americans perhaps three times and implies that religion was a factor (65). Nonetheless, he does not linger on the topic and provides no specific details. This is rather surprising considering his description of Andrew Jackson s era as a time of religious revival and growing nationalism (141). A time during which Jackson signed the Indian Removal Act and his successor Martin Van Buren authorized the forced removal of the Cherokee people from their native lands in what became known as The Trail of Tears. Yet Meacham ignores this completely while instead comparing Jackson s stance on religion and government to that of Thomas Jefferson. Similarly to his discussion of Native Americans, Meacham classifies the religious and cultural implications for the faiths and customs of those brought here in bondage as largely overlooked, but fails to expand upon the topic of African American slavery and its effects ... • 19. The Same Rights As American Citizens 2.The same rights as American citizens. It is unfair to arrest millions of undocumented immigrants. Conservatives only support legal immigration and oppose amnesty for those who enter the U.S. illegally (illegal immigrants). Those who break the law by entering the U.S. illegally do not have the same rights as those who obey the law and enter legally. The borders should be secured before addressing the problem of the illegal immigrants currently in our country. The Federal Government should enforce current immigration law to ensure not only our safety, but the illegal activity taking place in our country today. There are other good alternatives to welfare. Private charities can successfully serve the poor. Arnold Kling quotes, Those organizations that work directly with poor people stand a better chance of learning how to meet their needs (Bily, 2009, p 71). He believes charitable organizations are more flexible, accountable, and efficient. The poor would be better served by a new tax policy directing more money to private charities and less to the federal and state government. The role of charitable organizations is better than the government as a source of aid. It is easier for donors or volunteers to hold charitable organizations accountable than it is for taxpayers to hold government accountable. Failed government programs can go on forever, but an unsuccessful charity has a more difficult time obtaining adequate funding. In 2005, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Vampires have always been relatable creatures, which allows fans to connect with vampire characters. They represent the attraction towards being a vampire and having eternal life and are presented to popular culture in a way that is attractive and relatable to the evolution of vampires (Del Toro and Hogan 37). Over the past years, vampires have jumped in popularity and pop culture appeal, taking over our television sets, the movie theaters and box offices and books from around the world. Around 2010, Hollywood released four vampirefilms along with a bunch of vampire DVD s, and the immensely popular television series like the vampire diaries and true blood continued to air due to how popular those shows are. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bernstein s book focuses on how connectivity helped to end lynching, as well as how it increased lynching. The NAACP used the lynching of Jesse Washington to spread awareness of the atrocities committed in the South and the need to stop them. As Bernstein points out, the Jesse Washington lynching, was just the barest beginning of a battle that would last for many years (Bernstein 174). News of the Jesse Washington lynching spread around the United States, and even made its way to a British Newspaper (Bernstein 130). The national and international news coverage began the battle to increase public awareness, and would eventually lead the dying out of lynchings done by huge crowds. Lynching, however, is an enigma because increasing connectivity led to more awareness of the issue, but it also increased lynching. As population shifted and the U.S. became more interconnected, for example, during WWI, a rise in the need for Anglos to control their ever changing environment led to a resurgence of the KKK in the 1920s. Lynching increased as a method of social control and while it was more socially inappropriate, the number of lynchings did not decrease significantly until after WWII. Therefore, in the case of racial violence, increased connectivity was a double edged sword. The leadership styles include autocratic, consultative and participative and free rein leaders (Lamberton Minor, 2014). Autocratic is a leadership style that has the leader as the dictator giving direction to members to follow. Abuse to a child whether in the form of physical, emotional, sexual, or neglect is never acceptable. Children are our future, and we should treat our future with respect and guidance in order to ensure a happy and safe environment for all. Unfortunately, many children are abused around the world whether it is physically, emotionally, sexually, or through neglect. Sexual abuseto a child, to many, is unthinkable. Who could do such a thing? Through research, there seems to be a connection between sexual abuse as a child, and prostitution. The impact that sexual abuse has on a child should not only be further researched in order to gain a better understanding, but should also prevented and raise awareness towards the issue. Effects Sexual abuse, like any form of abuse, can have an abundance of effects on an individual. One study claims that partnered with sexual abuse, is often a lack of parental involvement (Vigil, Geary, Byrd Craven, 2005). This may be due to the lack of monitoring the child, or in the case of incest, a lack of respect towards the child. With women, sexual abuse can result in a lack of self worth, low self esteem, and an unhappy view on their overall body image (Vigil et al., 2005). Co ordination: Budgeting aids managers in co ordinating their efforts so that objectives of the organisation as a whole harmonise with the objectives of its divisions. Effective planning and organisation contributes a lot in achieving coordination. There should be coordination in the budgets of various departments. For example, the budget of sales should be in coordination with the budget of production. Similarly, production budget should be prepared in co ordination with the purchase budget, and so on. 3. Communication: A budget is a communication device. The approved budget copies are distributed to all management personnel which provides not only adequate understanding and knowledge of the programmes and policies to be followed but also gives knowledge about the restrictions to be adhered to. It is not the budget itself that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. IPsec and VPN IPSec Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) is a set of protocol for establishment of securing Internet Protocol (IP) communications. Safety on data was established through process of authentication and encryption of each IP packet in every communication session. At the beginning of the session, mutual authentication between agents will established and cryptographic keys to be used will arbitrated during the session. IPsec can be applied in protecting data flows not only between pair of hosts and pair of security gateway but also for between a security gateway and a host. IPsec provided end to end security in the Internet Layer of the Internet Protocol Suite. It is different to other Internet security systems which is being use all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... VPNs can be either remote access or site to site. In a corporate setting, remote access VPNs allow employees to access their company s intranet from home or while traveling away from the office, and site to site VPNs allow staff member in geographically disparate offices to share one cohesive virtual network. A VPN also be used to interconnect two similar networks over a dissimilar middle network. VPN systems may be classified by the protocols used to tunnel the traffic, the tunnel s termination point location, whether they offer site to site or remote access connectivity, the levels of security served or the OSI layer they present to the connecting network. Therefore, in order to prevent exposure of confidential information, VPNs generally allow only verified remote access and make use of encryption techniques. VPNs provide security by the use of tunneling protocols and through security procedures such as encryption. The VPN security model give confidentiality such that even if the network traffic is sniffed at the packet, an attacker would only see encrypted data, sender authentication to prevent unauthorized users from accessing the VPN and message integrity to detect any occurence of manipulating with transmitted messages Secure VPN protocols include the following; Internet Protocol Security ... • 40. United States V. Melgar Case Study Even If This Court Was To Find That Ms. Brie s Authority to Consent Was Ambiguous, This Court Must Still Find that the District Court Properly Denied the Defendant Appellant s Motion. 1. The district court correctly held that ambiguity should not defeat her reasonable apparent authority because allowing it to do so would impose an unreasonable burden on police officers. The district court s holding that allowing ambiguity to defeat apparent authority would unreasonably burden police officers by forcing them to clarify the consenter s authority over every container within the area they were permitted to search should be upheld as it is one that is supported by persuasive precedent from a sister circuit of this Court. See United States v. Melgar, 227 F.3d 1038, 1042 (7th Cir. 2000). In Melgar, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit uses Supreme Court precedent to support the position on ambiguous apparent authority stated above. See id. (citing Wyoming v. Houghton, 526 U.S. 295 (1999)). The Seventh Circuit states the Supreme ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 41. The Lord s Second Presence 1874 The fact of our Lord s second coming is definitely settled by the Scriptures.. The Scriptures show that his second presence was due in 1874.. This proof shows that the Lord has been present since 1874 .. The indisputable facts, therefore, show that .. the Lord s second presence began in 1874. {WT Mar 1 1922 67 } 1874 The Lord did not come in 1844, and the world was not burned up with fire .. this was a great disappointment to those holy people who had so confidently looked for Christ ( Michael ) then to appear and to exalt them with him in power and glory. But, notwithstanding the disappointment, [Miller s] movement had its designed effects of awakening an interest in the subject of the Lord s coming, and of casting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The disappointment of 1844 is briefly recorded in the parable, by the statement that the Bridegroom tarried i.e., he seemed to the expectant ones to tarry. And the confusion and darkness experienced by all, and the many false and visionary views entered into by some who were there disappointed, are shown in the parable by the statement: While the Bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. Yea, and in their darkness and slumber many of them dreamed strange, unreasonable things. But the parable shows a second movement, similar, and yet different, among the same virgins. The same general class is referred to but not necessarily the same individuals. As the first movement was the result of light upon the prophecy, regarding the time for Messiah s second advent as the Bridegroom of the Church, so was the second movement. But there are several differences. In the first, the lamps of all the virgins burned alike, and the company expecting the Bridegroom was mixed; whereas in the second movement, while all will be aroused, only those will be led out who have the spirit of the truth in their hearts, as well as a knowledge of the Bible a trimmed lamp. Disappointment was predicted for the first movement, and waiting for the 1335 days was necessary; but the second was not a disappointment, and a waiting was no longer necessary; for fulfillment came exactly at the close ... • 42. Essay on Robert Jensens Patriotism Many people believe that they are patriotic people. But, what truly makes one patriotic? In Saying Goodbye to Patriotism Robert Jensen critiques the effects of patriotism on today s modern society, the United States, and globalization after the attacks on 9/11. Jensen defines patriotism in his talk delivered to the Peace Action National Congress as love and loyal or zealous support of one s own country. (Jensen 741) But, that is not the only definition of patriotism. One may love living in the United States so does that make them patriotic? Patriotism is probably one of the hardest words to define in today s society. Jensen presents two alternative definitions of patriotism in his speech. The first one suggests that patriotism is to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the leaders of the country just keep creating policies and the majority of the citizens just accept them as they are, then this country really isn t that big of a democracy as one may think it is. In Jensen s talk, he also gives a quote of Emma Goldman s that states, Patriotism assumes that our globe is divided into little spots, each one surrounded by an iron gate. Those who had the fortune of being born on some particular spot, consider themselves better, nobler, grander, and more intelligent than the living beings inhabiting any other spot. It is, therefore, the duty of everyone living on that chosen spot to fight, kill, and die in the attempt to impose his superiority upon all others. This sounds a lot more like what patriotism is today. War is something that has always existed and even in this modern day in age, it is still considered the best way to resolve conflict. Jensen feels war in Afghanistan is barbaric because of the fact that people seem to think that their lives are more valuable than Afghanistan citizens and if innocent Afghans have to die then so be it to achieve the goals of the United States. But, are the goals of the United States truly patriotic? What are the real goals of the United States as it embarks on a new war on Iraq? From an Afghani American s standpoint Tamim Ansary compares modern day Afghanistan to Nazi Germany and he does a pretty good comparison when he states; When you think Taliban, think Nazis. When you think bin ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
