What is Science Olympiad?
Science Olympiad is a science event where we study, build and practice for a competition on Feb. 19, 2010 There are a total of 20 events 15 study/test and 5 building There are a total of 15 people on the team and 1 or 2 alternates who come to the practices, but not to the event unless someone is sick or not coming If you are a team member then you have to be willing to come to 2 times a week for 2 hours after school and once a week during lunch
Basic Info Cont. Also, you have to be willing to study and work on your events at home or coordinate with your partner Furthermore, the price of Science Olympiad per person is around $20-25 and the alternates don’t have to pay
Benefits Learn about new areas of science. Help you prep for Science Olympiad if your planning to do for high school Get awards for winning in your events  Learning and having fun with friends  For all this you will have to be willing to commit to 5 hours a week (after school & lunch) and 2-3 hours at home a week
Parent Volunteering  If you want to be on the team your parents have to be willing to volunteer. on the day of the event (judge, transportation, support) Also, we need several parents per week to come after school and help us with the build events
Extra Commitment If we make it to states then you will have to be able to come to Fresno and  practice same 2 twice a week until April If you have other activities conflicting with Science Olympiad tell us.
