HappinessHappiness
We are doing every thing in our life to be Happy, isn’t it?
How does our Happiness graph look like? …
Happiness
Time
… as a child
Something has
to happen to
make you
unhappy
Happiness
Time
… as an adult
Something has
to happen to
make you happy
4
What is Stress?What is Stress?
Stress is a state of Mind
Stress is a mind-body reaction/response to a situation
Fight or Flight instinct
5
Why Stress Happens?Why Stress Happens?
When a situation/condition is not Acceptable to us
When we want to do/get something but are unable
When ego is hurt (feedback, comments, criticism…)
When we lose something which we feel as important
When we are unable to deal with certain people/situations
…
Stress is mostly due to
Fear (of Future)
Worry (about Past)
And not so much due to Present Moment
“The Future depends on what is done to the Present” - Gandhi
It is always due to the perception of Mind
Different people ‘feel’ different stress levels for the same situations
6
What Happens when Stressed? What Happens when Stressed?
Psychology of Stress: Emotional impact
Anxiety
Fear
Depression
Anger
Sadness
…
Physiology of Stress
Acidity
Ulcers
Heart ailments
Blood Pressure
Kidney problems
Diabetes
…
90% diseases are psycho-somatic
Only 10% are Pathogenic
7
Chain Reaction of Stress: The Negative SpiralChain Reaction of Stress: The Negative Spiral
Mind perceives threat
Triggers animal instinct
of fight or flight
Adrenalin increases
to prepare the body
Heart beat increases to
supply more food & oxygen
to body parts
Blood pressure
increases
Breathing becomes
fast & shallow
Metabolism
increases
Stomach readies for
processing more food
Acidity* increases
Overloaded Excretory Systems
to clear the toxin
Imbalanced Endocrine Systems
the chemical factories of
hormones, enzymes
Imbalanced Emotions
Fear, Anxiety, Anger, Depression*…
Panic
8
Some Impacts of Sustained and Unmanaged StressSome Impacts of Sustained and Unmanaged Stress
Brain
Continues to operate in higher Beta state (15 to 26 cycles per second of
electrical impulses (EEG))
Continues to trigger the rest of the body mechanism and create stress
Blood Pressure remains high
High blood pressures can lead to Heart failure, paralysis (due to
breakdown of blood vessels in brain)…
Acidity, Ulcer and other digestive problems
Diabetes
Kidney problems due to overload on removing toxins from the body
Reduces immunity and makes body susceptible to diseases
Stress and Mind induced effects on the body are far more harmful
than the external pollution
Internal Toxins are far more harmful than external chemical/industrial
pollution
Human body has huge number of chemical factories – approximately 6600
different chemicals are produced (scientists/doctors are discovering more)
9
Why Allopathic Medicines and Stimulants are not goodWhy Allopathic Medicines and Stimulants are not good
for preventing Stressfor preventing Stress
Allopathic medicines directly add chemical to the body and
interfere with the internal chemical factories
E.g. Taking Antacids for Acidity neutralizes the acid in the
stomach. Then body thinks that the acid is not sufficient and starts
producing more.
E.g. Anti-depressants suppress the ability of brain cells to
generate electric impulses
People taking such drugs for prolonged time become dull
Stimulants like Tobacco, Coffee, Tea, Coco, Alcohol,
Drugs etc. temporarily trigger higher activities
Subsequently body craves for more & more stimulants
10
Then how to prevent stress? Then how to prevent stress?
Turn it into a Positive Spiral
Break the negative cycle at each point
Some amount of Stress is healthy – it triggers and
energizes the system
11
Preventing StressPreventing Stress
Root Cause: Manage Mind
Positive Thinking and Attitude
So what? What’s the worst that can happen? Smile at the situation; laugh at yourself

Greatest Gadget for preventing StressGreatest Gadget for preventing Stress
Would you like to buy one?
How much are you willing to pay?
13
Most advanced gadgetMost advanced gadget
What is the most sophisticated gadget that you have come
across in your life?
But which gadget has
created this gadget?
Do we know
all the features of this gadget
and how to access them?
14
Greatest Gadget for preventing StressGreatest Gadget for preventing Stress
Your own Body, Mind, Energy
Only thing you have to pay is ATTENTION
Else it leads o TENSION for which you will have to ‘pay a price’.
You need to understand what this system is, what are it’s
features and how to access them
15
Human SystemHuman System
Musculo-skeletal system – solid body
Circulatory System carries fluid objects like
food, water, oxygen,…
Respiratory System carries air
Nervous System carries electrical signals
Energy Centers & Channels carry Energy (like
electromagnetism, which does not require a
medium to propagate)
These Energy systems are called Chakras &
Nadis in Indian systems like Ayurveda & Yoga
7 major Chakras and 72,000 Nadis
16
Interconnection between Energy System & PhysicalInterconnection between Energy System & Physical
SystemSystem
Chakras are situated near the key Endocrine Glands and nerve groups (plexus)
Energy field in the Chakras influences the Endocrine Glands
Endocrine Glands produce the enzymes/hormones which influence the
emotions & body functions
Pituitary Gland is the master endocrine gland which influences all other
endocrine glands
Chakras

The Technologies of Life Force – Managing Mind & EnergyThe Technologies of Life Force – Managing Mind & Energy
Every aspect of life is integrated with the fundamental science of life –
the Life Force

MeditationMeditation
Physiological level
Meditation takes the brain to Alpha state: electrical impulses of 8 to 14
cycles per second
At deep meditation level (Samadhi state) brain goes to Theta state:
electrical impulses of 4 to 7 cycles per second
Leads to deep relaxation – deeper than sleep
Clinical research also has shown that Meditation:
Activates pre-frontal cortex of brain which is the seat of higher thinking
Stimulates release of neurotransmitters including Dopamine (antidepressant),
Serotonin (self-esteem), Oxytocin (love & pleasantness), Opiates (painkillers).
Meditation increases the Life Force
Removing obstacles and enabling cosmic energy flow (universal life force)
Mind rules the body
Mind  Nervous system  Endocrine system  rest of the body function
22
Pranayama…Pranayama…
Increases absorption of oxygen into the hemoglobin by creating inhale
pressure in lungs for osmosis
E.g. Ujjai breath
Increases the removal of carbon dioxide from the blood plasma by
creating exhale pressure in lungs for osmosis
E.g. Bastrika pranayam
90% of toxins are expelled through breath: ~ 20,000 times per day
circulating ~ 5000 liters of air per day
Increases oxidation and liberation of energy in every cell of the body
Air filter analogy in automobiles
Stimulates nerve tips in lungs which have connection to the brain area
(hypothalamus) where Pituitary Gland is situated
Pituitary Gland is the master gland in the endocrine system and has a
strong influence on rest of the endocrine glands
Breathing is the key voluntary AND involuntary function
Clue (entry point) to explore the internal world – what ancient Rishi’s
discovered
Breath is the connection between body & mind: unique breathing pattern
for every emotion
23
PranayamaPranayama
Balancing the Nadis: Nadi Shodana Pranayama
Alternate nostrils
Balances Ida, Pingala Nadis
Left Brain (Logic) and Right Brain (Emotions)
Whole Brain thinking
Decision/Choice making with Head, Heart and Gut – IQ, EQ, SQ
Holistic Intelligence: Intellectual Intelligence, Emotional Intelligence,
Intuitive Intelligence
24
YogasanasYogasanas
Yogasanas exercise different parts of the body precisely
They combine with breathing
They create flexibility and hollowness, lightness
Postures: Stretch & hold
Helps in flow of water, food, oxygen, electrical signals and flow of
energy in the body
They are Isometric exercises
As against Isotonic exercises of aerobics, gym exercises which help to
build muscles which reduce the flexibility & become blockers over a
period of time (aerobics are useful to exercise the heart)
25
MudraMudra
Mudras are like Energy Circuits
Five Fingers have correspondence to Five Elements (Pancha Bhutas) of
Existence
Thumb: Fire
Pointing finger: Air
Middle finger: Ether
Ring finger: Earth
Little finger: Water
Combinations of fingers create different energy circuits and modulate
these elements in the system
Mudras move the Energy Body to different Chakras

Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Water Molecules/Crystals:
Before & After certain Mantras, Prayers, Thoughts
Effect of SoundEffect of Sound
Certain sounds produce powerful vibrations in the body as well as in
the outside world
Most recent modern physics, String Theory, talks about entire
universe as being nothing but energy vibrations
Sound & Thought have great effect on water
70% of human body is water
Imagine the effect of Sound

Human Body as the Energy SystemHuman Body as the Energy System
Modern Science & Medicine consider human body as
merely electro-chemical, electro-mechanical and physical
phenomena
Ancient Indian & Eastern Spiritual Sciences consider it as
an Energy System
Universal Cosmic Energy (everything is common at atomic level)
Yoga – union of body, mind and spirit
Kriya Yoga – Chakras and Naadis
Holistic Ayurveda (deals with Prakrati (nature) in total)
Reiki (which means life force in Japanese; Started by Dr. Mikao
Usui a doctor and Buddhist monk during 1860s)
Thai Chi, Acupressure, Acupuncture (originated in China)
Acupressure & Acupuncture was originally developed by
Shukracharya (Sage of the Asuras) in India many thousands of years
back
Homeopathy (Started by Dr. Hahnemann a doctor in Germany
during 1800s)
35
Science of Homeopathy: Medicine of EnergyScience of Homeopathy: Medicine of Energy
SystemSystem
Basic principle: what causes disease cures the disease also when
given in the potenticized form
Homeopathic medicine preparation
Potencization through the process of tritration
Transfer of atomic vibrations to the base substance. Not even a single
molecule of medicinal material will be present according to Avogadro
number
Curing principle
Right medicine creates energy vibrations in the human system (resonance
principle)
This increases the energy level to improve the health conditions
Typically causes initial aggravation and subsequently cures with
oscillations
Cures inside-out: Mind  Emotional level  Physical level
Mind & Emotional symptoms are the key for diagnosis
36
FoodFood
Right foods are identified based on the Energy constitution
rather than just physical nutritional qualities like protein,
carbohydrates, vitamins, …
Foods with positive Pranic Energy
Ashguard, Fruits, Nuts, Honey, Coconut,…
Foods with neutral Pranic Energy
Potato, Tomato
Foods with negative Pranic Energy
Onion, Garlic, Asephoteda, Brinjal, Coffee, Tea, Chilli, …
Food in cold storage has low pranic energy
It’s best to eat cooked food before 2 hours after cooking
…
37
Life StyleLife Style
Early to bed, early to rise
Penal gland – the endocrine gland in the brain
Sleep-wake cycles, body rhythm
King’s breakfast, normal man’s lunch, poor man’s dinner
Digestion, metabolism
…

The Vicious CycleThe Vicious Cycle
People spend half of their life pursuing money as the highest priority
and lose health in that process.
In the remaining half they spend that money trying to regain the health
Priority
1) Pursue money
2) Pursue fame
lose health lose joy Less creative
Less Accomplishment
Less RecognitionLess MoneyMore stress on the priorities
42
Make it a Virtuous CycleMake it a Virtuous Cycle
Pursue health (mind+body) and knowledge (universal knowledge)
then money & fame will follow as a byproduct
Caution: This can not become an excuse for escapism

  • 3. 3 HappinessHappiness We are doing every thing in our life to be Happy, isn’t it? How does our Happiness graph look like? … Happiness Time … as a child Something has to happen to make you unhappy Happiness Time … as an adult Something has to happen to make you happy
  • 4. 4 What is Stress? What is Stress? Stress is a state of Mind Stress is a mind-body reaction/response to a situation Fight or Flight instinct
  • 5. 5 Why Stress Happens? Why Stress Happens? When a situation/condition is not Acceptable to us When we want to do/get something but are unable When ego is hurt (feedback, comments, criticism…) When we lose something which we feel as important When we are unable to deal with certain people/situations … Stress is mostly due to Fear (of Future) Worry (about Past) And not so much due to Present Moment “The Future depends on what is done to the Present” - Gandhi It is always due to the perception of Mind Different people ‘feel’ different stress levels for the same situations
  • 6. 6 What Happens when Stressed? What Happens when Stressed? Psychology of Stress: Emotional impact Anxiety Fear Depression Anger Sadness … Physiology of Stress Acidity Ulcers Heart ailments Blood Pressure Kidney problems Diabetes … 90% diseases are psycho-somatic Only 10% are Pathogenic
  • 7. 7 Chain Reaction of Stress: The Negative SpiralChain Reaction of Stress: The Negative Spiral Mind perceives threat Triggers animal instinct of fight or flight Adrenalin increases to prepare the body Heart beat increases to supply more food & oxygen to body parts Blood pressure increases Breathing becomes fast & shallow Metabolism increases Stomach readies for processing more food Acidity* increases Overloaded Excretory Systems to clear the toxin Imbalanced Endocrine Systems the chemical factories of hormones, enzymes Imbalanced Emotions Fear, Anxiety, Anger, Depression*… Panic
  • 8. 8 Some Impacts of Sustained and Unmanaged StressSome Impacts of Sustained and Unmanaged Stress Brain Continues to operate in higher Beta state (15 to 26 cycles per second of electrical impulses (EEG)) Continues to trigger the rest of the body mechanism and create stress Blood Pressure remains high High blood pressures can lead to Heart failure, paralysis (due to breakdown of blood vessels in brain)… Acidity, Ulcer and other digestive problems Diabetes Kidney problems due to overload on removing toxins from the body Reduces immunity and makes body susceptible to diseases Stress and Mind induced effects on the body are far more harmful than the external pollution Internal Toxins are far more harmful than external chemical/industrial pollution Human body has huge number of chemical factories – approximately 6600 different chemicals are produced (scientists/doctors are discovering more)
  • 9. 9 Why Allopathic Medicines and Stimulants are not goodWhy Allopathic Medicines and Stimulants are not good for preventing Stressfor preventing Stress Allopathic medicines directly add chemical to the body and interfere with the internal chemical factories E.g. Taking Antacids for Acidity neutralizes the acid in the stomach. Then body thinks that the acid is not sufficient and starts producing more. E.g. Anti-depressants suppress the ability of brain cells to generate electric impulses People taking such drugs for prolonged time become dull Stimulants like Tobacco, Coffee, Tea, Coco, Alcohol, Drugs etc. temporarily trigger higher activities Subsequently body craves for more & more stimulants
  • 10. 10 Then how to prevent stress? Then how to prevent stress? Turn it into a Positive Spiral Break the negative cycle at each point Some amount of Stress is healthy – it triggers and energizes the system
  • 11. 11 Preventing StressPreventing Stress Root Cause: Manage Mind Positive Thinking and Attitude So what? What’s the worst that can happen? Smile at the situation; laugh at yourself Larger view of life Story of the Professor and the Jar Meditation Build capability to face stressful situations and reduce the impact of stress at physiological level Yogaasana Pranayama Healthy lifestyle and food habits Have multiple positive energy sources Hobbies, interests, active family & social life along with professional life… Have a larger Canvas of life Time Management, Planning, Being Proactive & Prepared… Story of farmer’s servant who sleeps while wind blows Story of person with a lamp …
  • 12. 12 Greatest Gadget for preventing StressGreatest Gadget for preventing Stress Would you like to buy one? How much are you willing to pay?
  • 13. 13 Most advanced gadgetMost advanced gadget What is the most sophisticated gadget that you have come across in your life? But which gadget has created this gadget? Do we know all the features of this gadget and how to access them?
  • 14. 14 Greatest Gadget for preventing StressGreatest Gadget for preventing Stress Your own Body, Mind, Energy Only thing you have to pay is ATTENTION Else it leads o TENSION for which you will have to ‘pay a price’. You need to understand what this system is, what are it’s features and how to access them
  • 15. 15 Human SystemHuman System Musculo-skeletal system – solid body Circulatory System carries fluid objects like food, water, oxygen,… Respiratory System carries air Nervous System carries electrical signals Energy Centers & Channels carry Energy (like electromagnetism, which does not require a medium to propagate) These Energy systems are called Chakras & Nadis in Indian systems like Ayurveda & Yoga 7 major Chakras and 72,000 Nadis
  • 16. 16 Interconnection between Energy System & PhysicalInterconnection between Energy System & Physical SystemSystem Chakras are situated near the key Endocrine Glands and nerve groups (plexus) Energy field in the Chakras influences the Endocrine Glands Endocrine Glands produce the enzymes/hormones which influence the emotions & body functions Pituitary Gland is the master endocrine gland which influences all other endocrine glands Chakras Chakras & Nadis: Wireless connection to brain (Nervous system is the wired connection to brain)

  • 21. 21 MeditationMeditation Physiological level Meditation takes the brain to Alpha state: electrical impulses of 8 to 14 cycles per second At deep meditation level (Samadhi state) brain goes to Theta state: electrical impulses of 4 to 7 cycles per second Leads to deep relaxation – deeper than sleep Clinical research also has shown that Meditation: Activates pre-frontal cortex of brain which is the seat of higher thinking Stimulates release of neurotransmitters including Dopamine (antidepressant), Serotonin (self-esteem), Oxytocin (love & pleasantness), Opiates (painkillers). Meditation increases the Life Force Removing obstacles and enabling cosmic energy flow (universal life force) Mind rules the body Mind  Nervous system  Endocrine system  rest of the body function
  • 22. 22 Pranayama…Pranayama… Increases absorption of oxygen into the hemoglobin by creating inhale pressure in lungs for osmosis E.g. Ujjai breath Increases the removal of carbon dioxide from the blood plasma by creating exhale pressure in lungs for osmosis E.g. Bastrika pranayam 90% of toxins are expelled through breath: ~ 20,000 times per day circulating ~ 5000 liters of air per day Increases oxidation and liberation of energy in every cell of the body Air filter analogy in automobiles Stimulates nerve tips in lungs which have connection to the brain area (hypothalamus) where Pituitary Gland is situated Pituitary Gland is the master gland in the endocrine system and has a strong influence on rest of the endocrine glands Breathing is the key voluntary AND involuntary function Clue (entry point) to explore the internal world – what ancient Rishi’s discovered Breath is the connection between body & mind: unique breathing pattern for every emotion
