A Note On Sequential Game
Sequential Game I m currently employed in the health care industry, but before my career began I
worked for a major airline company for 5 years in various roles. Although I ended up choosing a
career in the health care field because of its stability, I still find the airline industry a valuable and
interesting market. To this day, I have many friends and acquaintances that still are employed within
the industry and are involved in contracts negotiations for their respective companies. From
experience and further research, I found two large companies, Boeing and General Electric (GE) who
are two major players in the airplane and parts manufacturing market. In sequential game, there are
two major players in the industry who have a team or an individual to negotiate terms for competitive
pricing and make its best strategic moves or offers based on the principal conditions. In this game,
each player (company) has to wait for their respected turn to negotiate the best deal with the perfect
knowledge of the other player s actions or state of mind. General Electric sells Boeing 777 s parts to
Boeing in its downstream. GE is the first player to negotiate and may easily influence the outcome of
the negotiation. Game Tree In this game tree, the two player s state of minds and actions are displayed.
Consider the case scenario of Boeing and General Electric (GE) playing a sequential game, GE makes
the first move in the process followed by Boeing based on their interpretation of GE s

People always like to impute all the misfortunes they have been through to their unfair destinies.
However, most of the occurrences happen in the human society is not random, and every consequence
must have a corresponding reason. Sometimes, the motive of one s action is hard to find because it
may be psychogenic reasons that hide deep in one s mind. Sigmund Freud comes up the idea that
human beings are motivated, even driven, by desires, fears, needs, and conflicts of which they are
unaware (Tyson 14 15). In most of the literature works, narrators unconscious egos like desires and
believes are often the most important factors to affect their behaviors and cause the consequential
narrative events happen. Both of protagonists in the articles, Peyton Farquhar in Ambrose Bierce s An
Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge and Madame Loisel in Guy de Maupassant s The Necklace, are
struggled with their identities, and suffered from the delusions caused by their egos, which lead
themselves to make the irretrievable mistakes, and finally, they fall to the fantasies again to defend the
consequences caused by their mistakes.
Both of the protagonists are not satisfied with their current identities, their desires blind their minds,
and make them easily fall into unrealistic delusions. In the An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, in
order to create suspense, Bierce does not mention the narrator s identity until Part II. He describes

changing market dynamics, rendering itself with certain information lag and marketing inaccuracy.
Current market segments of Tesla China are generally based on income level and an added up function
of technology savviness. Such market segment pattern can be easily seen through Tesla s development
track in China and its technological centric product strategy. The characteristic of such market
segments is quite straight forward, much resembles the characteristic of Tesla Motors itself. Under the
new market outlook, however, it can hardly afford to ignore the lower income fan base which would
have a huge positive promotional effect for Tesla brand.
With a large customer base and the Chinese government pushing force, would not be difficult for Tesla
to educate the unaware mass market of its concept and technological advances. This will create a

Throughout their time staying at the hotel, Sybil and Seymour have developed a friendship. The two
head into the ocean together where Seymour explains bananafish to Sybil. Seymour states they are
very ordinary looking fish that swim into a hole where there are a lot of bananas. Once in the hole the
fish feast on as many bananas as they can eat. After they eat so much they re so fat they can t get out
of the hole again . Since they cannot fit back through the hole they entered, the bananafish end up
dying there. Sybil believes Seymour s story and therefore exclaims that she saw a bananafish with six

currently there are 6 teams in Canada that are currently part of US professional sports leagues. By the

When Canadian teams cannot produce enough revenue, the entire NHL league is affected. Baseball is

of an issue. Even though they chose to spend more money on player salaries, the team has performed
so well that the fan loyalty and interest has gone up enough to cover the costs. The exchange rate can

Arizona because they could not create enough revenue selling in Canadian dollars. The Vancouver
Canucks faced a similar problem in 2002. They played their players a total of $62 million US which

Egoism Vs Altruism Essay
The ethical debate between Egoism and Altruism was extremely interesting to read about. I truly had
an aha moment because this debate is a topic that is rarely tackled or approached from the perspective
that being selfish is not a bad thing. At first, I thought this argument against altruism was insane,
however, once I tried to think of examples that prove its insanity I thought of nothing. This is when I
came to the conclusion that yes, whether its selfishness or selflessness, both have different meanings
to different people. Laurena Becker, in her article Encyclopedia of Ethics, mentioned that one of the
definitions for selflessness is a regard for the well being of others for its own sake (35). I believe this
is the definition that most people refer to. For example, when we think about a sister staying up all
night to take care of her younger sibling whose sick, we tend to say aww, she s so sweet and selfless .
However, can we even say that a sibling is selfless for taking care of her own sibling? A part of me
views that as being her job as an older sister while another part of me also views this as being a kind

For instance, not letting someone take advantage of you or your resources and choosing to focus on
your wellbeing instead is a good thing. I believe that if someone donates clothes to the homeless, even
if it s with the intentions of feeling better about one s self, isn t necessarily unethical because no harm
is being done. The person is not only going to feel more satisfied with themselves but would also be
