I think “king henry viii” is appropriate for a school magazine because of the name of the school however I could have improved it by having a unique name to try and attract more audience. What are the connotations of the masthead? The masthead is simple and someone who is from ‘king henry viii’ would know straight away that it is associated to that school however if an audience who is not from that school and has no knowledge of the school would associate it with the monarch. Is the colour scheme of the masthead appropriate? In my opinion the colour scheme doesn’t work because of the image I used, I could have used yellow or green to blend it in. Is the mast head a sufficient size? I think the masthead size is appropriate enough to attract the audiences eyes however the subtitle ‘exclusive interview’ is a little bit bigger than the masthead itself.

The composition of my main image is that, I chose sixth form students for my Image to show that in sixth form you don’t have to wear uniform to show off Sixth form life and get people interested. I don’t have any subsidiary images because I decided to only have one main Image because it would have looked cluttered and I just wanted a simple Front cover for my magazine.

The “exclusive interview” makes it obvious that the image behind is related to it because of its size and it stands out. Is the language informative and entertaining? No, the language is simple and straight to the point but however I tried to make it attractive by using bright colours. All spelling and punctuation is accurate and different font size is used to show which one is the main article. I’ve used blue, black and white for my writing but however I don’t think they are appropriate for the main image.
- 5. Layout and design I think the layout of my front page is clear and well organised because I used a simple layout and the front cover does not look cluttered. I think the front page is appealing to the reader because of the main image, you see two males smiling and happy which could attract readers and make them curious and I used bright colours such as blue and white. I think the design for my front cover if seen by a student from my will easily recognize it is a school magazine.
