For the audience, the masthead is the first thing they see so a clearly recognisable and visible masthead is key. The subheading is white, this doesn’t make it stand out as white is a neutral colour and other more powerful colours like the blue in the masthead and the picture make your eye ignore the subheading

The shot of the girl is a medium shot, this is because the picture can then capture everything around her to show the reader the nice environment she is in, hopefully encouraging students. There is no splash on the page which is bad because it means there is less on the page to attract the readers eye Other pictures on the page gives the readers the idea of what school like is like for other students.

4. The different columns have the articles in the magazine labelled, this is a good feature in a magazine because it means readers are able to find the right pages easily. I think this contents page is generally poor, the background colour doesn’t really match the font colour and there are too many colours on one page for it to look effective. The picture of the girl is poorly rendered, making it a poor picture, additionally you can see where the creator has cut her picture on her outline and it spoils the image. Also the reader doesn’t even know if the girl belongs to the school because the shot used is a close up, so you cant see uniform or a background.

5. The way the pictures have been placed in this contents page are very good, the picture quality is also of a good standard. It is showing the reader what the school is about and what it looks like. The contents list isn't very well presented, it looks basic because it’s been numbered. Additionally, they are in a basic font and in white, although this may be an attempt to stop the eye being drawn to it, I still think it could be better without it ruling the page. The masthead stands out well, it is highlighted and has a glowing effect to make it look visually pleasing.
