1. Food Shortage Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of food shortage can be quite challenging due to the complexity
and sensitivity of the subject. It requires extensive research to understand the various factors
contributing to food shortages, such as climate change, population growth, economic
inequalities, and geopolitical issues. Analyzing the impact of these factors on different regions
and communities adds another layer of complexity.
Crafting a well-structured essay involves presenting a thorough introduction that captures the
reader's attention and clearly defines the scope of the problem. The body of the essay must delve
into the causes and consequences of food shortages, supported by credible sources and data.
Addressing potential solutions and their feasibility is another crucial aspect, demanding a careful
balance between optimism and realism.
Furthermore, the emotional and ethical aspects of food shortages cannot be ignored. Discussing
the human suffering, ethical dilemmas, and the urgency for global collaboration adds depth to
the essay but requires a nuanced approach to avoid oversimplification.
Maintaining coherence and flow throughout the essay is vital, as the interconnected nature of the
issues related to food shortage demands a seamless transition between paragraphs. A compelling
conclusion should summarize the key points and leave a lasting impression on the reader,
emphasizing the urgency of the matter.
In conclusion, tackling the topic of food shortage in an essay is no small feat. It requires in-depth
research, critical analysis, and a thoughtful exploration of the multifaceted issues surrounding the
subject. Writing such an essay demands not only a strong command of language and structure
but also a genuine concern for the global challenges at hand.

2. The s First Modern Grocery Store
Moreover, on that bright June day the hurry and spring in the pretty redhead s step
had a teeny bit to do with what her best friend, Sylvia, had told her earlier that same
morning: someone new had come to town; a handsome, mysterious young man.
All the harbor girls whispered in delight; gossiping, speculating and wondering
who would land the first date with this new guy. Rumors had it that he had started
work at the newly opened First National, the harbor s first modern grocery store.
Oh sure, there were fish markets and butcher shops and the likes, but mostly, folks
had milk, cheese and butter delivered, and the majority of women made their own
bread and put up their own vegetables and preserves. However, now with this new
grocery store, their basics could all be purchased in one locale. The young man
that the girls were all buzzing about had only been in Cutler Harbor for two days
or so, no one had met him yet. It was Priscilla, who told Natalie; he lived in
Damariscotta, some twenty miles away (he did). Then Natalie told Sylvia that she
heard he had a car (he did not). In conclusion, Sylvia told Lelia he looked like a
dreamboat, just like Clark Gable (he did). The person Lelia had worn her hand sewn
dress for, and couldn t wait to witness with her own eyes was Owen Isaac Bauer.
Beyond a doubt, his handsome appearance unearthed the dreamboat the gossip had
depicted him. His broad shoulders, combined with a thin build, had him appear much
taller than his measured

It has also argued that growth can also be enhanced, by improving the design of
individual taxes. In some cases, such as the reduction of corporate taxes and the top
rate of personal income tax, it is unlikely that these growth enhancing changes will
help the recovery from the current crisis. At the same time, there are tax changes
that appear to be bad for growth, such as reductions in sales taxes (particularly if
they take the form of exemptions and reductions) and property taxes that would do
little to speed recovery. The tax change that shows the most promise in terms of both
increased growth and economic recovery is the reduction of income taxes of those
on low incomes. This would stimulate demand, increase work incentives and reduce
income inequality. The authors display that the dependence of both growth and tax
policy on initial income help explain why it is difficult to isolate the effects of tax
policy on growth.
Conclusion:
The author s analysis shows that changes in taxes have important consequences for
the economy. This is important given the debate at that time on the efficacy of fiscal
policy and on the possible consequences of the fiscal consolidation that is bound to
subsequently take place. The evidence they contributed in this article is supportive
for (i) relatively large and immediate output effects following changes in tax rates (ii)
tax multipliers that are larger than most estimates of government spending
4. All over but the Shoutin
All Over but the Shoutin
All Over but the Shoutin by Rick Bragg is an autobiography that starts from Mr.
Bragg s impoverished childhood in a family that included an abusive, alcoholic
father, an incredibly powerful angel of a mother and his two brothers, and follows
him through his Pulitzer Prize winning journalistic career at the New York Times.
The author states at the beginning of the book that readers will laugh and cry reading
it. He was right on the money with both of these points.
The Bragg family grew up with virtually nothing. The father left the family a number
of times, offering no financial assistance and stealing whatever he could before he
left. When he was there, he was usually drunk and physically abusive to the ... Show

As I said before, I grew up in a middle class family. This made it difficult for me to
completely understand everything that he was talking about in the book. I never
knew what it was like to have little or no food to eat. If we didn t have anything to
eat our family would go to a restaurant and eat or go shopping and get food.
Also, the work aspect is difficult to understand for me. I know what his mother did
was what all people in her situation did then. The working conditions that she dealt
with day in and day out were horrific. And the thing was she never complained
about it or quit. I know if I was in her situation I would have never lasted. I would
have quit and tried to find another job. Another option that middle class workers have
is taking vacation time if it gets to hot out or if it is raining. That is just the way we
deal with situations like that. I believe our generation living in those conditions
would never have made it back then.
Communication is a very important aspect of any family. Good communication
leads to a better family life. Bragg and his mother in particular seemed to
communicate very well. The way he details each of his childhood stories is very
good and since most of the stories are told by the motherly figure in your life you
can see the communication is good. The communication between Bragg and his
father is the complete opposite. It was very hard

The cons of living in Houston. I ll go through them first: It is hot here, and it is

Traffic can be bad, but so is every major city. What we have are some bad drivers.

6. Examples Of Immortal Mindset
Immortal Mindset I know a majority of people in our society wish that they were
immortal. Otherwise why read the Twilight book series or the Percy Jackson book
series. It s not just because these books are filled with romance and action, but they
are foremost fiction of that we wish was real. Sadly immortality in real life as a
physical form is non existent. Although there is such a thing called the immortal
mindset. The immortal mindset is a way for you to somewhat de stress your mindand
in a way to feel free. Though people wish for immortality that doesn t necessarily
mean they have an immortal mindset. When you think about just the basics of
immortality, what comes to mind? What comes to my mind is youth, living on,
history (or legacy), endless time, and power. Now you can break those down and
look at them in a real life setting. Think about why everyone should have an
immortal mindset versus a mortal mindset. When you think about youth in a
immortal way what do you see? You see someone whose in their 20 s and is
actually a hundred years old, but when you think of that with an immortal mindset
it s the same in a way. Those who worry about their future and live their lives with
regret tend to not have a happy life and it occasionally leads to an earlier death. Now

Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight,

accurate because Cummings takes those risks to make his poems very
spontaneous and out there such as in r p o p h e s s a g r . This 19th century poet
made great poems that won many honors and awards such as the Dial award and

The setting of this poem occurs outside in spring. Where children are playing and
doing what one would see all little kids doing, playing hopscotch, playing in the
mud, and dancing around. This poem is an auditory as well as a visual read. It s
meant to be read aloud, even the title becomes part of the poem itself. The poem
itself visually takes the reader along the trail in the park in early spring when little
children are running around and when the sun is out and shining bright. Cummings
has a sort of odd structure to this poem making it look like it dances around to go
with the theme of playfulness and dancing. The line Spring when the world is mud
luscious (cummings,1) goes with the title of Cummings poem it plays into the theme
of it all. Also, the line and bettyandisbel come dancing from hop scotch and jump
rope (Cummings,13 14) relates to the theme because of how the names are scrunched
together symbolizing how a child would talk, and the hop scotch and jump rope
being the children playing. Therefor the poem In just by E.E Cummings represents a
child s world and their innocence and playfulness. Cummings expresses himself in
this poem with metaphors such as when the world is mud luscious ( Poetry

Explain how and why the American colonists were able to defeat the British Empire
in the Revolutionary War. America hardly managed to defeat the British in the
Revolutionary War. At first most nations would have never foresaw the Americans
pulling off this victory. One of the most important advantages the colonists had on
their side was time, and the home turf advantage. The British had to sail troops all the
way from England to America, as well as be able to supply them constantly which
the crown couldn t afford to do forever. Also, as the British recruited thousands of
Hessians, America recruited thousands of so called legalized pirates to aide them in
their quest for freedom. Theses legalized pirates at the end of the Revolutionary War
plundered over 600 British merchant ships. Perhaps if not the most important
advantage was the aide of the French after the Battle of Saratoga. The French
supplied the colonies with weapons, a navy, and also sent soldiers of its own. With
the support of the French, the colonists were able to triumph over the British at the
Battle of Yorktown which lead to the signing of the Treaty of Paris.

Multinational corporations must carefully investigate the feasibility of opening a
manufacturing facility in any underdeveloped nation. The goal to this end, this report
will provides detailed analysis in order for the organization to determine not only the
feasibility of opening a manufacturing facility but also to determine the humanitarian
benefits such an endeavor would accomplish. The country which will be examined is
Venezuelalocated in the continent of South America.
General Information Regarding Venezuela Venezuela is a Latin American nation
whose population in 2014 was 30.69 million (World Bank, 2016). An organization
which is an independent group dedicated to the expansion of democracy and
freedom around the world called Freedom House (2016) rates the country of
Venezuela as partly free. This organization uses a scale of 1 to 7 (with 7 being worst)
to rate countries in the area of political as well as civil liberties. On this scale,
Venezuela is rated 5 for political rights, civil liberties as well as a general freedom
rating. Such a low score raises great concerns regarding the feasibility of the
manufacturing endeavor.
The executives have indicated their desire to maintain a high level of involvement in
any manufacturing facility. However, the rating of 5 would indicate there is a
sizeable potential for unwanted government intervention. Other corporations in
Venezuela, such as oil processing firms, have experienced their own executives being

We see an over the shoulder shot to indicate the conversation being held between
Rick and the German man. We then see a shot reverse shot, showing that both of
these characters are engaged with each other. When looking at the acting of Rick,
his voice looks calm and his face looks at ease. This suggests that people cannot get
to him (get in his head, or persuade him). This scene has huge importance since
people can implicitly assume that Rick does not take sides, and only cares about
himself. By looking at the color of costumes between Rick and the German man
indicates that Rick is good based on his white tuxedo, and the other man is not (he
is wearing black). The costume of Rick plays a major role in determining he is a
good character. A major part scene in particular implicitly that his character is

Rick has sympathy for the Allies. By him letting people with less money, and less
prominent into the bar, you can infer that he must feel something. Also by not letting
a wealthy German into the bar, and letting a criminal like Ugarte in, he must have
some sort of negative feelings to the Germans. After his encounter with the German

Public Sector and Private Sector
SUMMARY
When we examine public sector versus private sector, plenty of differences come to
mind. In defining each, we learn a private sector in an economy consist of all
businesses and firms owned by ordinary members of the general public. It also
consists of all the private households in which people live. The public sector in an
economy is owned and controlled by a government. It consist of government
businesses and firms and goods and services provided by the government such as the

On the other hand, government organizations that are funded through market sales or
user charges often have concomitantly greater autonomy from governmental controls.
Majority of public sectors are managed under a bigger chain of command and
control, while private sectors mostly operate in a corporate setting. As for the
differences with their policy decisions, the activities in the public sector have a
goal of adhering to what is indicated by law, while the private sector is driven by
the rules of shareholders and corporate owners. Schmidt (2008) states, The
research agenda of companies is more focused and targeted and therefore
perceived as easier to handle for managers. Also, the decision making process is
different. Managers of private enterprises can faster and easier change orientation,
focus and targets. This implies, according to some managers, that the
instrumentation used in the private sector is different from the one used within
public research. [pic][pic]Finally, the beneficiary of the services provided by the
public sector, is the general public. These goods and services are sometimes provided
free and in other cases consumers have to pay a price. The goal

14. An Analysis Of Maya Angelou And Alice Walker
Maya Angelou and Alice Walker are two well known contemporary African
American writers. Although both women are from different generations they share
some of the same qualities and experiences. Both women used their past
experiences of tragedy and hardship as a stepping stool for growth by turning that
pain into what now are famous stories and poems. For most writers, majority of their
work stem from their own experiences, and for both Alice and Maya a great deal of
their works regarded the dilemmas many African Americanpeople faced during that
time such as prejudice and discrimination.
They were each so passionate about equal rights for colored people that they got
involved with the civil rights movement. Maya Angelou participated in the movement
in the 1960s by touring the country with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr as he prepared
for the Poor People s Campaign . Alice Walkerparticipated by writing a novel in
1976 called Meridian, which is known as the meditation on the modern civil rights
movement. Both women also had strong views about equality for African American
women, and soon became known as Feminist. They used their platform as writers to
express the challenges many black women faced, as well as give women like them a
voice by promoting gender equality.
Although Maya Angelou and Alice Walker share these similarities, there are still
unique facts that separate these writers apart. Marguerite Annie Johnson, also known
as Maya Angelou, was born on April 4, 1928,

Sociology Analysis over Concrete Angel

Abstract
The lyrics of Concrete Angel has meaning to it. The lyrics focus on child abuse.
Child abuse is a problem that may children all over the world face. Child abuse can be
in the form of verbal and/or physical abuse, bullying, and so on. The lyrics shows
us how the obvious signs of abuse can be seen but bystanders choose to ignore what
is going on. The lyrics of Concrete Angel relates to sociology in many ways. The
lyrics relate to three perspectives of sociology. Those perspectives are conflict,
interactionism, and functionalism. The main focus of this paper is the
characterization portraying the societal issue of child abuse.
Introduction
The song I chose to do my analysis on is Concrete Angel written by Stephanie Kay
Bentley and Rob Crosby and sung by Martina McBride. I felt the song has meaning
and I would be able to analysis it. The message of the song exudes to it listener to
child abuse, or any relating form of abuse. The lyrics talk about how victims of
abuse show obvious signs of physical or mental harm that bystanders choose to
ignore. Concrete Angel is about a little girl who is trapped in a life of turmoil. The
song describes her short innocent life. Her life is lived in vein as neglect and abuse
plagues her. The adults around her seem to be aware of her anguish but like most
people they chose to not get

total violations of these coal mine companies are above the level needed to force
its closure. Most of the coal mine companies challenged MSHA s citations and
corrected enough of the significant violations so they fall below the shut down
level. This is irresponsible on MSHA s side. Thy should enforce a tighter and
stricter rules when it comes to violations. MSHA should not just imposed fines on
the company but they should be more stern when it comes to safety violations by the
company. Also, waiting until there is too much violations by the company to close
the mines will endanger the lives of the miners. When people lives are on stake,
MSHA surely are not up to the standard of that task.

The miners had some idea of the risks of working in the Upper Big Branch mine

19. A Modest Proposal By Jonathan Swift
Satire in A Modest Proposal and Different Articles Jonathan Swift, author of A
Modest Proposal, tries to present different ideas in order to change the situation of
Ireland. Through his proposal, he is able to get people s attention, and the way he
uses satire throughout the article made his argument more successful. He wrote this
essay to show how ignored and bad the state of Irelandand its social classes are. In A
Modest Proposal , Swift effectively uses rhetorical exaggeration to express his
offense towards England s politicians, and the status of the poor people in the country
in the late seventeenth century. His purpose was to raise awareness of what was
taking place in that society. Swift expresses his growing annoyance towards the
inability of the politicians, the hypocrisy of the rich, the brutality of the English, and
the degrading situations in which the Irish peoplewere living in. Swift was trying to
persuade the people by proposing this extreme and unusual way for the purpose of
provoking them to come up with the right solutions. On the other hand, the Onion is
an organization that publishes articles on international, national, and local news. In
the following paragraphs, there are similarities and differences between Swift s essay

that: Swift proposes that selling babies of the poor for food and clothing could

20. Summary Of L. M Montgomery s Novel Anne Of Green
Gables
Children: How Their Minds are Shaped While Growing Up Children start learning
from the moment they are born, and they pick up on almost everything that
surrounds them. L.M Montgomery s novel Anne of Green Gables is a prime
example of children being influenced by their environment. Through telling the
story of a young orphaned girl, we see the perspective of Anne, being mistreated,
and genuinely not taught how to be a respectable girl for her time. If she had
continued down this path, her outcome could ve taken a turn for the worse, and
important lessons told in the book would not have happened. Thankfully, when
Anne is adopted by Matthew and Marilla onto a farm, we see her in a well to do
home, getting disciplined, and being given the chance to grow to her full
potential. In Anne s personality we see her imagination going wild, and we also
see her struggle to try and be responsible and live presently in reality, and not in her

Velazquez and Picasso painted many of the same things. They have similarities as
Picasso s are simply new renditions of the original ones that were made by
Velazquez. They also have differences because Picasso had a very different art
style from Velazquez. They had many paintings that were remade by picasso years
after to bring back the art of Velazquez the royal painter. That was just kind of
Picasso s style.Their paintings had a lot of differences. For example Velazquez
painted many people helping out the young princess. Picasso only had a one maid
helping her with tasks. Velazquez has a very realistic rendition while Picasso s is
more abstract. Velazquez s looks almost like it was a picture of the event taking place
but Picasso s is very polygonal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two of them are of the same event taking place. They are also both supposed to
get the same thought across in their respective styles of doing so. Both paintings are
named exactly the same thing. Although their specialties may be different both artists
painted this painting at their best with their special strategies.I think that Velazquez
was just trying to do his job and portray the real scene of maids helping the princess
with some tasks as he was supposed to. I think that Picasso was trying to portray
the same thing that Velazquez was trying to portray and he just wanted to put his
own classic abstract spin on the realistic painting by painting it in the style of his
own paintings.. I think that Velazquez decided that he was going to make this
painting because it was his job and he liked to paint portrayals of certain events
happening with the royal family in their life. he just enjoyed his job it seems and so
he painted as many things of them as he possibly do. I think that Picasso made it
because part of what he does is repaint old paintings from past painters. He just liked
to take something that was a realistic painting and put his classic abstract spin on
them to make his
22. Conflict Theory In Social Work
Social workers can utilize conflict theory in their everyday work within their
communities. Conflict theory has central propositions that suggest conflict
generates social change. According to Karl Marx, conflict is desirable because it
propels social action against oppression . It is important for us as social workers to
have a greater understanding of how the political economy shapes our lives, our
consciousness and our opportunities (Robbins et al., 2011). Conflict theories offer
several explanations for what occurs in our society. Marx believed that conflict arises
from inequalities from social classdifferences. Marcuse believed that advances in
technology also brought on new forms of oppression and domination which lead to

a 1950 paper, Freedman is an advocate of free floating exchange rate. This article

Cuban Race Relations
I. Introduction Retracing a History of Racial Scorn in Cuban Society:
The study of race relations in contemporary Cuba indelibly requires an understanding
of the dynamic history of race relations in this ethnically pervasive island of the
Caribbean. Cuban society, due to its historical antecedents of European colonialism
and American imperialism, has traditionally experienced anguished and even
tumultuous race relations. Racial disharmony has plagued Cuban society ever since
the advent of the Colonial institution of the plantation system. Thus, in order to
acquire some understanding of Cuba s dynamic race relations one must study and

Although Afro Cubans made up nearly half of the Cuban population during Cuba s
colonial period Spanish culture, trends, and biases were the dominant ideology. Thus,
due to the dynamics of the Spanish colonial rule in Cuba compounded by a Spanish
inherent belief of cultural superiority, Afro Cubans experienced a long history of
repression. Aline Helg, comments on the oppressive nature of the Afro Cuban
existence during the Spanish colonial rule by stating:
Deep in their memory was the experience of slavery, no doubt the most repressive
human condition. But they also shared the recollection of bloodily crushed slave
rebellions. Even more traumatic was the memory of the suppression of the alleged
Conspiracy of la Escalera (1844), in which hundreds of slaves and free people of
color were tortured to death, formally executed, imprisoned, or banished during what
was remembered as the Year of the Lash.1
Consequently, because of the severe racial discrimination Afro Cuban s experienced
in an existence where social upward mobility was frustrated by Spanish colonial
biases, Afro Cubans embraced the war for independence against Spain as an attempt
to accomplish a social revolution.
Racial tensions and discourse, however, continued to polarize Cuban society during
this tumultuous period leading to Cuba s decisive victory over

Murad IV made Pope Urban VII look like a pushover his punishment for breaking the
ban was death. King James I of England was no fan of tobacco either, so he picked
up his pen. In 1604, James wrote the treatise A Counterblaste to Tobacco, and he
didn t pull any punches, writing, What honour or policie can move us to imitate the
barbarous and beastly maners of the wilde, godlesse, and slavish Indians, especially
in so vile and stinking a custom? (King James, 1604).
As the years progressed, smoking became more and more acceptable. Nazis
aggressively tried to suppress tobacco usage but their ban fell with them, as during
World War II and the immediate postwar years, smoking was actively promoted in
most aspects of society. One only has to review the movies of the 50s and 60s to
see that in almost every scene the hero or the heroine is smoking a cigarette. Even,
King James s attacks on smoking over 3 centuries ago (Eckholm, 1977) have been
vindicated.
As a result of this, the tobacco companies and society have been very effective in
promoting smoking as being socially acceptable. This may seem all the more
peculiar, given that most smokers believe smoking is hazardous; indeed, even in
1968 (Horn, Note 1), 53% of smokers reported that they would like to stop. That the
antipathy does not necessarily depend on scientific data is evident from the response
of Solomon Islanders and Saharan Africans: Though uninformed of the evidence

Growing and Changing Technology Used for Port and Harbor Security
Introduction
The responsibility for port and harbor security in the United States is handled by the
US Customs and Border Protection and the Coast Guard. These departments are part
of the Department of Homeland Security. Port and Harbor Security is important
because of vulnerabilities in various industries such as container shipping which
are vulnerable to terrorist attack. US ports are considered to be a desirable target
for attack because US ports handle 20 percent of Maritime trade worldwide. The
maritime system in the United States entails sea and river ports that are more than
300 which consist of more than 3,700 passengers and cargo terminals. Any form of
attack on the maritime system could potentially lead to loss of billions and bring
about an adverse effect on the global economy. It is due to this case that technology
has been used to improve security in US ports and harbors. This paper will focus on
what forms of technology have been implemented and what functions do they serve
in reducing vulnerabilities in the US maritime system.
Technology trends in port and harbor security
Port security for US maritime security entails the inclusion of two key programs
whose primary objective is to protect against threats in containerized cargo . The
programs include the Customs Trade Partnership against Terrorism (C TPAT) and the
Container Security Initiative (CSI) which are tasked to identify containers of high

RFID Toll Road Payment systems have really helped a lot in reducing the heavy
congestion caused in the metropolitan cities of today. It is one of the easiest methods
used to organize the heavy flow of traffic. When the car moves through the toll gate
on any road, it is indicated on the RFID reader that it has crossed the clearing. The
need for Humen based toll based systems is completely reduced in this methods and
the tolling system works through RFID. The system thus installed is quite reducing

The cardiovascular system is the most important system in our body. Without the vital
functions that the circulatory system performs, the human body would have no way
of transporting blood to vital organs or the ability to transport oxygen and nutrients to
cells in order to remove waste. This whole system plays a major role in maintaining
physiological homeostasis (Farley and McLafferty, 2012). Understanding cardiac
function plays a vital role in understanding how human physiology and anatomy
coexist. How is cardiac function regulated?

A neurotransmitter is a chemical that is released in order to send a signal to another
neuron across a synapse. During this experiment acetylcholine was used and it is a
neurotransmitter that is released from all parasympathetic postganglionic fibers
(Sherwood,2016). The main function of acetylcholine is the activation of skeletal
muscles and glandular functions in the endocrine system. Another neurotransmitter
utilized was epinephrine. Epinephrine is the primary hormone that prepares the body
for fight or flight responses and regulates arterial blood pressure in situations with
adrenaline (Medicine.net, 2017). Although not necessarily a neurotransmitter,
atropine sulfate was used in this study as well and it does closely effect
acetylcholine. More specifically, atropine sulfate is a parasympatholytic agents that
interacts with muscarinic receptors on effector cells which then prevents
acetylcholine form binding to the receptor site (Kovalcuka et al., 2015).
Baroreceptors also played a key role within this experiment. The primary role of
baroreceptors is to sense pressure changes and to respond to change of tension in the
arterial wall which helps in regulation of blood

I particularly enjoyed reading all about SCARF, more so than NVC, I think
because I can relate more to it. Perhaps this means I need to work more on NVC? I

The five key elements of SCARF (Status, Certainty, Autonomy, Relatedness, and
Fairness) were perhaps a little more natural to me, than using the NVC process,
except for Autonomy, which I have only just learned about in this unit.
I believe they are both very useful to learn, perfect and utilize in every day life with

In addition, the stopping distance is longer considering the weight factor of the
vehicle. Both these issues make this automobile very dangerous to the driver,

the lower center of gravity that the car has to offer makes this vehicle less likely to
roll over. There is also a shorter stopping distance for the car considering the weight
of the car is much lighter.
Sports utility vehicles take up more room compared to the car. There have been
several infamous people with sports utility vehicles who park in the compact
parking spaces specifically designed for compact cars. Other notorious sport utility

make it difficult for other conventional people to get in and out of their automobiles.

Sports utility vehicles block the vision of the cars behind them. This does not

Gambling is the act of risking an object of personal value, usually money, for the

pathological gambling, is when gambling begins to take over all aspects of life
affecting relationships, and work. The category that a gambling disorder should be

The design of Hong Kong Disneyland took into account Chinese cultural aspects
and planners went to great lengths to ensure that it was well received by the local
Hong Kong population and their projected mainland Chinese visitors (Fowler and

residents, visitors from the southern part of China and visitors from South East
Asian markets (Emmons 2001). Table 1 clearly shows the value of these three
markets, but most importantly the rapid rise in visitors to Hong Kong from
mainland China. Although people from Hong Kong live with cutting edge
technology, superstition still plays a vital part in their culture. Numbers and feng

40. Positive Effects Of Attitude
Effects of Attitude
Distance, time, money, tiredness and several other things in life are just a question of
one s attitude. Context and situations decide the attitude.
If a person has to travel say 15 to 20 miles per day to his workplace, he will
definitely be cribbing. On the other hand, if the remuneration is going to be hefty he
will not mind travelling the same distance. The distance has not changed, but his
attitude towards remuneration makes this passable.
One often complains that he does not have time for even the small things in life. Just
an introspection shall reveal that it is an excuse one gives to oneself. A personwho
does not have time for a courtesy call to a related person will definitely be able to
squeeze in time to spend time with his friend in spite of any tight schedule. After a

On the contrary they do not mind giving generous Tips in fancy restaurants because
of attitude.
Perceptions of Attitude are more important and can change during periods of Natural
disasters. During a recent flood havoc in a major city in India, the people s attitude
was so positive that they were able to render all assistance to those affected without
any inhibitions of class, creed, rich, poor, etc.
People may throw stones at your path. It is your attitude with which you face the
hurdle, that will lead to a wall or a bridge . Remember your attitude is the architect
of your life.
Success requires more than talent. While talent and knowledge are essential, the key
that unlocks them both is your state of mind. Being positive makes you more
dependable. When you are positive you will find that you instinctively respect others,
and are therefore more considerate.

41. How Music Has Impacted My Life Essay
Music has always played an important role in my life. Even as a student of film, I
tell stories inspired by song lyrics, for the words, rhythms, and instruments of rock
music have impacted my life to an unimaginable extent. Whenever I edit video, the
underscore is vital. When I write a script, there s a poetic sound, a lyricism to the
dialogue. I would not even be here in Los Angeles if not for artists such as Courtney
Love and Jared Leto, who cross boundaries between music and film. In particular,
Jared Leto s career is something to behold. An award winning actor, director,
musician, and pure artist, Leto epitomizes my creative values: never settle, and don t
be afraid to be dedicated to whatever you want to do.
Origins
Born in Louisiana, Jared Leto attended University of the Arts in Philadelphia to
pursue painting. However, he eventually dropped out and studied acting in NYC. He
then transitioned to California to begin his career music ( Jared Leto: Biography ).
His big break in acting came from the short lived, yet critically lauded TV series, My
So Called Life (1994). Four years later, he became lead singer for his rock band, 30
Seconds to Mars. As the years progressed, Leto found success in both artistic avenues.
Leto s last film of the 2000s, Mr. Nobody (2009), was met with critical accolades,
but marked the beginning of his hiatus from film. In 2013, Leto returned in full
swing with his supporting role in Dallas Buyer s Club (2013). A commercial and

42. Impact Of Hernan Cortes
No other man has had a greater effect on the forming of Mexico, but Hernan Cortes.
Born in 1485 in Medellin from western Spain. Hernan Cortes is still relevant today
because of the large impact he made on today s North, South and Central America.
He was also one of the only people to eradicate a civilisation completely. Although he
made massive impacts in the Americas that are still felt today, it was not the only
place that he had significant impacts on. He also had massive impacts on his home
country Spain. To the Aztecs (indigenous Mexican people that are no longer around
today) he was a villain, a murderer. But to the Spanish he was a hero who conquered
the land of Mexicofor the Spanish and lead a great army to victory.
In 1511, Hernan Cortes first served as a soldier on an expedition to Cuba. He then
helped establish a town in Cuba called Bayamo . This was one of his first main
impacts on the Americas that is still felt today. After 7 years Diego Valasquez
named Cortes Captain of an expedition to Mexico, but they had an argument and
Valasquez revoked Cortes status. Cortes ignored orders and traveled to Mexico
anyways with about 500 men and 11 ships. His focus was to overthrow the Aztec
ruler Montezuma II in the Aztec capital Tenicotillan . Then in July 1519... Show more

He brought Spain money and power by claiming Mexico for Spain. This made
Spain the richest country in Europe at the time. He was also appointed governor for
his accomplishments in the Americas. Hernan Cortes is the reason why many
people today from the North, South and Central America origin from Spain. He
brought the Spanish people new land and new homes to live in. Not many people
got to travel to another continent at those times so he brought new experiences and
opportunities to many Spanish families. Although he did so much for his country, in
his later life he wasn t acknowledged for his work as he was demoted as
43. Pablo Picasso And Picage Seurat Analysis
How can a painting have so much to say Is one question that people may ask
themselves. Telling stories and expressing one s self in paintings brings one to
show others a new way of seeing and thinking about life. The canvas of every writer
is easy to visualize or to relate to by how the painter expressed himself and wanted to
portray the message through a painting. From Pablo Picassoto George Seurat and to
so much more. The meaning and story of the panting s take you to a whole
different world. They make us view things differently and see things in a new
perspective by how the painter is showing or expressing themselves. They explain
what they had to go through or what was going on, by telling their story we can feel
the emotion behind it as well as how raw it makes one feel. Through the painting,
one can make their assumptions about what the story is. The beauty of art shows
either the great or corrupt that the painter sees or the ongoing situation. They show
the people different perspectives of what s going on and they make you feel the
same emotion that they put on the painting. We see art as a way of expression and it
makes us connect to the painting that we see. The art helps us understand the way the
person behind the drawing felt or what they saw when it was going on. The beauty of
art is that it lets everyone express themselves through painting, so we can tell our
story. Art is expressed through 1) human culture, 2) emotion, and 3) communication.
Through human culture, the artist shows the emotion that takes place. Every artist
expresses them in a unique way. They focus on things that catch their eyes or things
that they feel are important. The artist paints to show the world many different sides
of human culture as well as current events. For example, Pablo Picasso painted a
painting named Guernica which symbolized the horrors of war and as a result, has
become an anti war symbol. He was protesting the bombing of Guernica. On the far
left is a woman, head back, screaming in pain and grief, holding the lifeless body of
her dead child. This is one of the most devastating and unforgettable images in the
painting. To her right is the head and partial body of a large white bull, the only
unharmed and

create a book and re booking after destroying it. Ella Kerner also printed a dress
pattern on her book using the press (show picture). Giampaolo Nicosia 19 also
utilized the press to put text on his book. The project was a great opportunity for
students to begin experimenting with the press and to become more comfortable
thinking outside the box and including more creativity in their works.
Having a working knowledge of the printing press allows our students to access a
tool that is rarely seen at the high school level, said Bligh. By having a printing press
our students can experiment with many exciting processes that yield results quickly.
Bligh noted that some challenges students may face when learning how to operate
the press is the mere fact that he lets them learn the process on their own.
Bligh commented on the level of creativity students have reached when utilizing the
press this past year. I have seen students use it to quickly transfer text or pattern to a
work of art, he said. The students also used it to emboss or add pressure as well as
experiment with

we love our devices so much that many of us even sleep with them. One study
found that 44% of cell phone owners keep their bed at night to ensure they do not
miss a thing. There are many in a 2011 poll, 95 %of adults said they regularly use
their devices right before bedtime. There are many types of sleep disorders but most
of the time we cause sleep disorders because of technology. (sleepfoundation)
Conclusion technology has the good and bad impact. Some people use technology
for good reason and some use for the bad reason but some technology are harmful
to us but if you use in wrong way then only. Ya, it true that some technology makes
us alone but not all technology. Some people are on phone whole day it can cause
your eyes hurt. If you on phone whole time every day that causes bad impact on
you. Like low vision, red eyes, or you feel like blindness. Is technology is good for
people? Everything is now on technology. Half of the people on earth use
technology some use for good. Some use for bad. But most of the people use
technology for bad like hacking the bank, site, etc. There are much more thing we can

Newer Car Customer impression
Lease A new car would be positive impression because the it could represent an
image of success and excellent business practice (Montoya, 2017).
Purchase As expected, the new vehicle would have a positive impression to
customers. However, in the long run, the car depreciates in value. An old and
deteriorated car could give a negative signal to customers regarding the company s
business practice (Montoya, 2017).
3.E.Down payment
Lease According to Montoya (2017), you can have low or no down payment
Purchase McNew (2016) wrote, a potential drawback of buying is a sizeable down
payment. Many lenders require 10 to 20 percent down when taking out a car loan.
On a $30,000 vehicle, that s $3000 to $6000.

48. A Graduate Student At The University Of Chicago
You re a graduate student at the University of Chicago and you re pursuing your
degree in sociology. You ve been going to seminars and they do not seem to be
doing anything for you. You want to get to the root of problems. You go searching
for answers and you find them in the office of a professor. Still there seems to be
something missing and you go looking for it. This is what Sudhir Venkatesh goes
through. As a rogue sociologist, Venkatesh struggled with changing a research
project, getting information from a gang, and the ethical issues that came with the
research that he was conducting with African Americans that were part of said gang.
By using the ethnography method, conducting interviews, and getting to know the
people that were part of the gang, Venkatesh was able to have an advantage over
other researchers that just did questionnaires to get answers. Sudhir Venkatesh, was a
sociologygraduate student at the University of Chicago. As part of his heavy course
work, he had to attend seminars where professors parsed the classic sociological
questions: How do an individual s preferences develop? Can we predict human
behavior? What are the long term consequences, for instance, of education on future
generations? (Venkatesh 3). Venkatesh did not like the questions that these
researchers were asking. He thought that they were cold and distant, abstract and
lifeless (Venkatesh 3). He was particularly curious as to why these researchers did not
seem to be interested in
