Dissociative Identity Disorder ( Mpd )
Dissociate Identity Disorder
Marjorie Morales
Troy University
Dissociative identity disorder (DID), also known as multiple personality disorder (MPD), is still
known today as one of the most controversial psychiatric diagnoses (Priya Siva, 2013). It indicates the
existence of two or more identities or different personalities that repeatedly assumes control over the
behavior of the person affected. In the majority of cases, dissociative identity disorder appears along
with other symptoms, in which many times has been misdiagnosed (Ringrose, 2011). Repetitive
childhood abuses are considered as the main cause of dissociative identity disorder (Fraser, 2014). The
division of two or more identities can be understood as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dissociative identity disorder is characterized by the presence of two or more distinct identities or
personality states that recurrently take control of the individual s behavior, accompanied by an
inability to recall important personal information that is too extensive to be explained by ordinary
forgetfulness (Ringrose, 2011). It is a disorder characterized by identity fragmentation, rather than
proliferation of separate personalities (Fraser, 2014). Many people equate colloquially dissociative
identity disorder and schizophrenia in a wrong way (Priya Siva, 2013). While in the case of
schizophrenia can both be identification with another person within the framework of a megalomaniac
in the identity disorder dissociative exist two or more personalities in a person (Priya Siva, 2013). A
person with dissociative identity disorder does not react to the same medications used in the treatment
of schizophrenia (Priya Siva, 2013).
Traumas, during the early stages of human life span development are amongst the causes responsible
for a dissociative identity disorder (Macintosh, 2013). Most of the individual s affected, suffered
repeated physical or sexual abuse during childhood, were neglected and or even abandoned
(Macintosh, 2013). In serious cases, many of these children were abused during rituals in sects or cult
s (Macintosh, 2013). Major trauma experienced

Similarities Between Jainism And Buddhism
Jainism and Buddhism share some common ground and similarities in their beliefs and practices, and
they also have features that make them unique and distinctively different from the other. Some of the
central similarities of Jainism and Buddhism can be found in when and where their traditions
originated, resemblances in their primary teachers, their religious goals, nonbelief in a creator, and
their values of nonattachment and nonviolence. Some differences between Jainism and Buddhism are
found in their karmic principles and the conception of the soul. There seems to be more parallels
shared between Jainism and Buddhism than discrepancies.
Jainism s and Buddhism s main teachers of the practices also share some similarities. Although the
Jain teachings did not originate with him, Mahavira, known as The Great Hero, was the major teacher
of the Jain path. Around the same time in the 5th century BCE, Siddhartha Gautama was teaching
another path which would come to be known as Buddhism. These two teachers were each a prince of a
Kshatriya clan and both renounced his position of wealth at around the same age: Mahavira was 30,
and Siddhartha Gautama was 29. (Fisher, 2013, pp. 121, 137, 138)
Both Jainism and Buddhism originated in India. Yet, unlike Hinduism, neither is based on the Vedas,
and both were alternatives to the ritual oriented Brahmanism of India. The extreme antiquity of
Jainism is well documented from ancient Hindu and Buddhist scriptures, but the teachings

A New Drug Development Process
Introduction: A new drug development process starts with animal testing, before it is been tested in
humans. These animal studies are designed to ensure that the drug is effective and safe in animals.
Moreover, the results obtained should be reproducible. But even the reproducible results on animal
studies cannot provide relevant prediction of the safe and effectiveness of a new drug. Scientists often
stipulate the structural and physiological similarities between human and animals as a reason for
performing animal testing and then relating or extrapolating the results for the first in human clinical
testing, also known as Phase I clinical trials. Although, it is very clear that the human life expectancy
is much higher compared to animals, because of the way things metabolize in human body, or to the
environment a human body is exposed to or due to the minute genetic difference between human
species and some other species. Also, diseases which are imposed by genetic engineering into the
animals during animal studies differ significantly than the natural occurrence of a disease. Scientists
are aware of these flaws that come with the use of animal model testing, like drugs that may be safe
and effective in animals might not necessarily be safe and effective in humans. One such example is
Thalidomide , which was used in 1950 s as a sedative product and was used to treat morning sickness
of pregnant women. This drug was totally safe and effective in animals, but when used

Essay on Recognizing the Armenian Genocide
The Armenian Genocide, also known as the Armenian Holocaust, was the organized killing of
Armenians. While there is no clear agreement on how many Armenians lost their lives, there is general
agreement among Western scholars that over a million Armenians may have perished between 1914
and 1918. It all happened during the Ottoman Empire, present day Turkey, where 2 million Armenians
lived. The Armenian Genocide is the second most studied massacre, after the Holocaust. To date
Twenty two countries have officially recognized what happened as genocide, but Turkey to this day
rejects the events as genocide. One starts to wonder what could cause such hatred to commit such a
heinous crime, and then go to great lengths to deny the fact that it ... Show more content on

However, in 1913, an ultra nationalist group within the movement seized control of the group. This
faction was comprised of men who believed in creating a pure Turkish country that excluded non
Muslim and non Turkish people like the Christian Armenians (FACT SHEET). Two of head people of
CUP (Committee for Union and Progress) would later be responsible for initiating the mass murder.
They were Talat Pasha, and Jamal Pasha. Talat Pasha, also known as Mehmed Talat, was the minister
of interior affairs and Jamal Pasha was the Military Governor of Syria. These leaders became close
friends with Germany which in turn supplied the Turks with military support and training and in 1914,
the Ottoman Empire aligned itself with Germany and the central powers in World War I. As the war
raged on, and the Turks fought the Christian Russians, they began to worry about the Armenians. They
were worried that the Armenians would turn on them and fight on the enemy s side. Therefore CUP
decided the best thing to do is eliminate the race, wipe them off the face of the earth. The start of the
genocide started early in the year of 1915. The Turkish government starts to poke at an Armenian
massacre by publicly accusing and punishing Armenian bakers on an obviously false charge of
poisoning their bread (Genocide). By this time the Turks have also disarmed most of the Armenians
that are/were serving in the military (FACT SHEET). April 24th 1915,

Descriptive Essay Gym
Gym One bright warm sunny day, I was jumping for joy, since it was Friday! Time flew by fast, it was
already time for fourth period, gym! Since it was fourth period, I left third period which was band. so I
started heading off to the gym locker rooms, where everyone was waiting for the other class to leave
so we can go in. When I approached everybody I saw my friend Emma. So we talked till it was time to
go in the locker room, to change into uniform. 5 minutes later everybody was changed, and the people

What Are Flashbulb Memories
Throughout our lives, we definitely have gone through a lot of experiences and made memories. Some
of the memories are easily forgotten, while some others are remembered distinctively, vividly and can
be recollected confidently. This is called the flashbulb memory. Flashbulb memory is like a very clear
picture of a particularly impactful event which had caused one to be affected emotionally. For
example, I remember this performance that my school choir was performing. It was during Christmas
season and we decided to spray bubble foam to portray fake snow. However, the plan backfired when
the wind blew at our direction and all the foam flew back to us. This was remembered very clearly
because I was embarrassed and had experienced something so

Voting Rights Act Pros And Cons
I have come to a realization that the United States of America has taken a huge step back into history.
Instead of learning from our past and growing we have elected a President that only brings racist
remarks symbolizing everything that the United States does not identify as. Due to the election it has
brought us much awareness of how ignorant the people who were elected into office to be the people s
voice. We have accomplished many things as a society, but still render the key elements to take the
blindfold of the ignorance that hovers around people. The Voting Rights act has been dismantled and
sadly, we are returning to our racists background, or maybe we just never acknowledged them until we
elected a blatant racist president. The Voting Right s act represents a huge faze in our History of how
we transformed into a more welcoming society for all people no ... Show more content on

As everyone may know The Daily Show is a widely popular show that informs viewers of current
news through humour (John,2017). The Daily show had an episode dedicated to why Shelby county
wanted to get rid of sec 4(b) and 5 of the voting rights act (John,2017). Supposedly Voting I.D laws
was a suggestion to prevent voting fraud which was assessed to having 1 to 2 cases not 1,000 to 2,000
but simply 1 to 2 cases (John,2017). It s a non ethical approach because there have only been 1 to 2
cases of fraud which does not call for an extreme tactic of presenting I.D laws (John,2017). The Daily
show dived into how the voting I.D laws was a strategic ideal to incorporate all these restrictions to
stop the Democratic party (John,2017). By going after black Latino they would overall halt the
Democratic party because they mainly vote democrat (John,2017). Thankfully the voting ID laws
were shut down in Alabama, but has started an uproar in the south

The Link Between English Reading And Mathematics
I noted that historically, any link between English reading (Arts) and Mathematics skills (Science)
seems to have been at best a tenuous one. The issue brought into the public domain by C P Snow
(Rede Lecture 1959) where he claimed: The two cultures (Arts and Science) stare at each other with
mutual hostility and dislike... If this state of affairs was reflected in educational establishments of that
time the likelihood of any meaning full cooperation between those engaging in the teaching of reading
comprehension and mathematics would seem to be very remote indeed.
Thankfully, changes in opinion did occur over time and by the 1990 s interest in children s maths
skills also led to an increase in research into the association between ... Show more content on

He subsequently explains that it is the format for instruction that presents the difficulty. He
demonstrates if a given task is to calculate a mathematical problem and information is presented as
numbers with operational signs sequenced appropriately, children who understand algorithms can
proceed with ease. However, when the mathematical task to answer includes information that is
presented at the outset in words and sentences, pupils must first comprehend the text before they can
use the appropriate algorithmic skill. Obviously then even the best maths students cannot solve
problems they don t fully understand. Fuentes (1998) maintains the narrative of mathematical
problems tends to be compacted where mathematical concepts and relationships are often hidden,
implied or assumed and the pupil is left to expand and extract the true meaning. This is in marked
contrast to the narrative of storybooks which tends to be expansive and elaborate. In addition he notes
that the ambiguity found in the interpretation of for example, a poem may well be applauded however
any ambiguity in maths text interpretation simply means failure.
From research I have encountered thus far I must agree that good reading comprehension is essential
for interpreting mathematical texts. Baker (1995) and Christen and Murphy

Summary Of Escape From The Western Diet
In Escape from the Western Diet Michael Pollan argues against the scientific theories of nutrition, and
discusses the harmful effects, and chronic diseases associated with the Western Diet. Pollan offers an
alternate view of a healthier lifestyle to escape the western diet that simply suggests that we stop
eating and thinking that way. (Pollan 423) He explains that the food industry has changed the
wholeness of our food, which causes us to eat unhealthier things such as fast food. He approaches a
solution to these contradictory theories and science by focusing on a personal approach to eating that
is based on the individual s view of food. Pollan three rules to create a healthier lifestyle are to Eat
food. Not too much. Mostly plants (Pollan 426) which suggest to eat real food in a new balanced and
healthy way that creates a pleasurable approach of eating. I agree with Pollan s concepts about the
western diet and his rules of eating simpler. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of focusing on calories and carbs, he revolves his idea around eating simple. I think this is a
good idea because often times we focus too much about nutrition facts rather than eating natural foods
that are not processed. However industrial processes have by now invaded many whole foods too,
(Pollan 424) which makes it difficult to find natural food. Pollan adds that even meat nowadays is
included in the western diet because of the food the animal eats. Whole foods that have not been
processed are getting harder to find because more foods are becoming

Persuasive Speech On Animal Testing
As a huge animal lover, I was disgusted to hear about Ebbie s story. Ebbie was a beagle rescued from
an animal testing lab in Spain. When he was rescued by an organization called Beagle Freedom
Project, he was deathly ill, emaciated and had tumors all over his frail body. Before being rescued, he
had spent his entire life in solitary confinement where humans tested many deadly chemicals on him.
When he first moved into his new home after being rescued, he just spent his days lying on the floor
and was unwilling to interact with humans in anyway. It s truly incredible that after months of love
and compassion from people that fostered him, he learned about love and trust towards humans after
being so dramatically traumatized from the abuse he received in a lab. I stand here today to present
you with the issue that needs to be addressed immediately: the abuse of millions of innocent and
defenseless animals through animal experimentation. Millions of animals are in agonizing pain while
being kept in tiny cages of labs while scientists inject dangerous substances in them and perform risky
surgeries on them. Such immorality of scientists is allowed because there are no laws that prohibit this
torture and protect the quality of life of these innocent animals. The root of animal testing started
thousands of years ago when scientists studied animals. During the early twentieth century, more
people became curious about biology and body systems; therefore, studied on animals. As

Marie Antoinette Essay
Marie Antoinette (2006), starring Kirsten Dunst, Jamie Dornan and Jason Schwartzman, is a fictional
movie biopic based on the life of famous French queen and one of the last monarchs before the French
Revolution, Marie Antoinette, wife of King Louis XVI. The film s director, Sofia Coppola, has
revealed that she stylized the historical figures in such a way as to make them seem more humanised,
and allow viewers to connect with the events, as well as admitting that she did not wish for the film to
simply focus on historical fact, stating that It is not a lesson of history. It is an interpretation
documented, but carried by my desire for covering the subject differently. Several critics have praised
the film as being more of a satire than a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The following is an excerpt of Marie Antoinette s letter to her mother after her wedding, which clearly
states Marie s happiness with France and her love for her husband: What was really affecting was the
tenderness and earnestness of the poor people, who, in spite of the taxes with which they are
overwhelmed, were transported with joy at seeing us... Before we withdrew we [Marie and Louis]
kissed our hands to the people, which gave them great pleasure. These letters also describe how Marie
felt about the lower class peasants of France, who had treated her with welcome and kindness, before
they had shown signs of eventually turning on her after she pushed the country further in debt.
Overall, the inclusion of these letters in Marie Antoinette is an accurate representation of Marie s
feelings.
Marie Antoinette continued to incur the ire of the French by her lavish lifestyle, which highlighted that
the monarchy little understood the needs of their people. Whilst the peasants paid high taxes, Marie
Antoinette threw extravagant parties, ordered a constant supply of expensive clothing and often
gambled the French s money away unsuccessfully. In the film, several montage scenes of Marie and
other members of nobility accurately depict her attending parties, gambling and behaving in an
inappropriate manner. This is an entirely accurate depiction of Marie s lifestyle. The film also
accurately represents that Marie Antoinette having a model farm built Hameau de la

Analysis on McNabs Island Essay
McNabs Island is located at the mouth of the Halifax Harbor, and its size is approximately 395
hectares. On McNabs Island, the highest elevation is 45 meters. The elevation of this island rises
toward the middle so that the elevation of central land is higher than the edge. Moreover, the
proportion of its flat areas is approximately 20%, which mostly occurs at hilltops and coastal beaches.
The proportion of gentle and moderate slopes are around 25%, and most of them occur in the middle
area of the island; the proportion of the steep slopes is about 30% which are located near and at the
coasts. Furthermore, from the slope and elevation map which we did before, we can tell that the

On the opposite, if there is a flat or gentle ground, and some kinds of vegetation covering, the volume
and speed of overland flow will decrease. For the coastal environment and processes of the island, the
low energy waves create flat beaches because waves sediments are pushed by the wind toward the
coastline. On the opposite, the high energy waves create coastal cliffs from wave erosion, and when
coastal cliffs are formed, waves will break and release a great deal of energy. In addition, the island
shorelines vary from cobbled stone to fine sand, and with salt marshes in a few coves such as the one
near Maugers Beach. The sandy shores are mostly located at Ives Cove and Wreck Cove. Cobbles
shores are mostly located at Hangmans Beach and Finlays. In addition, there are a few rocky shores in
the region such as the one which is located at Maugers Beach or McNabs Cove. Furthermore, there are
some infrastructures near the coast such as building, wharves and streets. For the solar aspect and
micro climate of McNabs Island, most slopes are facing to the east, west and south, and there only a
few north facing slopes. Actually, north slopes always receive less solar energy, and south slopes are
much brighter and warmer (Course Lecture, 2013). However, north facing slopes seem to have a
moister soil and more vegetation. Even though south facing slopes receive more direct sunlight and

What Is The Situationist Perspective In Lord Of The Flies
Dr. Zimbardo uses a situationist perspective on the ways through which anti social behavior is
understood, treated and prevented. This view contrasts with the traditional dispositional perspective,
which locates evil within individual predispositions and looks at a person s internal factors and traits.
The situationist perspective is different in that, unlike the dispositional perspective, it often uses
experimental and laboratory research to demonstrate vital phenomena, whereas other perspectives
may only use archival or correlational data to suggest such answers. The main example that illustrates
through experimental research and social analysis is the ease by which ordinary, good people are
induced into behaving in evil ways. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We live in a world cloaked with evil; it is ironic how humans are capable of committing the most

Lord of the Flies and the Psychology of Deindividuation
This section is mainly about The Lord of the Flies by William Golding and how it illustrates that one s
external physical appearance can lead to a tremendous change in one s mental state. It is really
interesting how in the book, once the boys get over the initial moral dilemma of whether to kill a pig
and live or whether to let the pig live and die themselves, they have no problem with killing pigs. With
every killing, the death of the pig seems to become more brutal and demoralizing. At one point, they
even impale the pig with a stick in the anus, proclaiming their deed in horrific valor. This goes back to
sexual aggression because it can be viewed as the raping and killing of a female pig. I can justify the
gradual ease of killing pigs with an example. My friend, who goes hunting often, told me about how
he can manage to kill a dear without feeling bad inside. He said that the actual killing is only hard the
first time and that the other times, it is relatively easy because one simply stops thinking about it. One
thinks about the deer as the prey, not as an innocent animal minding its own business. As for the
experiment with the deindividuated and individuated women, it seems to make a lot of sense

Introduction
The Hobbiton Movie Set is a set from the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy and The Hobbit films. Body
Start
It all began back in 1998 on normal Saturday afternoon at a family farm near Matamata. A knock on
the door changed lives forever. Green paddocks on a quiet back country road sat a home to the
Alexander family, and their farmland animals, where 13,500 sheep and around 400 cattle lived. The
famous Kiwi film director Sir Peter Jackson discovered the Alexander farm in September 1998, during
his journey of searching for a film site for The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The views and rolling
country side hills is what brought to Peter s attention, and he really appreciated the look of the large
pine tree, later renamed The Party ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Peter Jackson. Starting the movie set with just 12 acres of empty farmland to 44 Hobbit Holes. The
Hobbiton business has grown largely since day 1. From 10 staff members to 20, then 50, and 180 staff
members in the peak season. Russell Alexander had said that since the beginning his philosophy has
been to add something new each year, changing and developing, there s enough room at Hobbiton.
The Hobbiton set took 2 years to build, and Russell is confident that it will last for 50 more years as a
top New Zealand tourist destination.
Achievements
Coming to an end in September 2016, the Hobbiton Movie Set had won the Business Excellence
Award, which is an annual turnover more

The Effects Of Demonic Possession And Psychological Illness
Many have tried to argue for the existence of demonic possession, some even go so far as to say that
demonic possession and psychological illnesses are fundamentally different. If mental illness and
demonic possession are not simply different names for the same thing, then we are left with two
possibilities. Either they are unrelated phenomena, or there is some kind of association between them.
Of course, even if they are unrelated, they may still be confused with each other because of superficial
similarities. If they are related, however, we need to understand the nature of the connection between
them. Thus, we may be faced with a differential diagnostic problem. Either we need to distinguish
which of these two entities we are dealing with, or else we need to identify which is the primary
problem which led to the other as a secondary complication.
The goal of this paper is to thoroughly analyze the history of demonic in comparison to the
psychological illness, schizophrenia, a disorder that remains without a complete cure and is still
extremely debilitating for the diagnosed if they are not receiving treatment. This will be done by
describing both the origin of demonic possession and schizophrenia, identifying the way each are
diagnosed, and how they are treated. I will then provide an example of an exorcism done to banish a
demon where schizophrenia might have been a better diagnosis. I will finally discuss why demonic
possession and the illness schizophrenia are

Sensing Nodes in Batteries
Multi hop communication makes use of the fat that a WSN contains a large number of sensing nodes.
So, the sensed data of nodes can be sent to the base station after passing through a number of nearest
neighbor s nodes rather than directly transmitting to it. This strategy, in turn, saves the energy of the
sensing nodes and thus contributes a lot to the battery life of the nodes.
1.3 PARAMETERS DEFINIG PERFORMANCE OF WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS
1.3.1 POWER OR ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Power efficiency is the first factor that directly affects the performance of the nodes and hence of the
overall sensor network. For better and desired performance, the nodes of a WSN must be efficient in
terms of power which in simple words means that the duty cycle of the nodes must be made small [5].
The design considerations must take into account the sleeping mode of the nodes when there is no
activity thereby reducing power consumption and contributing to performance enhancement.
However, the sleep mode of nodes has the main disadvantage that if any of the nodes remains in the
sleep mode for a significant chunk of time, it is likely that communication with neighbors nodes may
come to a halt. Also, a reduced duty cycle for the network nodes leads to threatening the network
reliability. The data as well as the control packets that maintain the routing and communication among
the nodes of the sensor network will also have a delayed reception.
Efficient use of power also increases the battery timing or

My Reflection Of My Writing As A Portfolio
In my portfolio I will be including my first essay and second essay that I did for this class. I am most
proud of these essays not because I took my time on them but I know that I fixed what was asked and
made a lot of improvements on them. I believe I did meet the contract agreement that we signed at the
beginning of the quarter. Although, I did miss some days of class, more than I expected, but even after
that I feel like I kept up with my work in and outside of the classroom and what was required. I
enjoyed this class a lot because I was able to learn a lot about myself as a learner and was able to work
on my study habits. I learned a lot about how to read properly and how reading aloud truly helps you
as a writer and learner. I also became better at being able to correct others essays without feeling
guilty of what I was saying. At first I felt like I wasn t going to be able to put as much time as I wanted
in my outside of class work. But over the course, I learned that I had to make it a priority and didn t
have any other choice. I had to make it work with my job schedule and use my time very wisely,
which at first wasn t easy because I wasn t really good at that. These past ten weeks, say that I m still
working on my study/ work habits. Recording my labor hours really helped me keep track of the fact
the amount of hours I should be putting in time into my study time. I learned that the easiest things are
the biggest distractions to me. I also learned that I needed to

Communication Is Vital For Success And Living A Normal Life
Communication amongst human beings has always been vital for survival. Anymore, communication
is vital for success and living a normal life. If one lacks the ability to communicate, it can be an
extreme challenge to live a normal life. Males and females often communicate differently and
sometimes can communicate the same. Differences between gender cultures influence the way that
people of different genders communicate. These differences begin at childhood (Boundless). They
have different ways of reacting, different objectives, body language, and different ways of
communicating with one another. Later, you will discover how genders differ when it comes to
communication during social interaction, in the workplace, with a significant ... Show more content on

The first issue that will be discussed is the fact that women feel left out during conversations (Evans).
These conversations that women feel left out in are debates at work, regular conversations, and
decision making conversations. Women like to be invited into conversations because they feel more
accepted if someone else shows sympathy toward the female s opinion or view. Females tend to keep
quiet during debates between men because of the fact that they want to be invited in. Many men don t
feel the need to invite the female in because she isn t speaking and they feel as if the female has
nothing to say. It isn t hard to see the miscommunication in this situation. They both are picking up
false messages and are drawing logical conclusions based on the information that they are given. I
have experienced this in the work place myself. I work in at a male dominant cement plant that
contains very few females. Most of these females don t seem to fit in with the rest of the guys when it
comes to simple conversation and debate. The women tend to keep quiet more than the men do.
Another difference between genders at work is men think that women ask too many questions
(Evans). Some men think that these questions asked by women inhibit progress and take too much
time. Many women claim that asking questions is their best way to contribute. They feel that it sparks
an exchange of ideas and that it shows concern for others. The best way that genders can team up and

Dialectic Journal of the poems Beowulf , Grendel ,...
Sea against sand; they stowed away
In the hold of the ship their shining armor...
Will the seamen that sailed her sighted the land
Shining cliffs and coastwise hills, (p14, ln 74 83)
The use of consonance here repeats the sound of the wind. Beowulf and his men are going to go save
the Danes. They must cross the sea and the wind acts very favorable and leads them to the way. The s
sound imitates the sound of a swift and light wind, not a treacherous gust.
Foam on her breast, like a bird she flew; (p 14, ln79)
This quote uses personification and smile. The author personifies the ship calling it a she. One refers
to ships often as female, but it also gives the ship qualities of tender and nurture. The ship guides them

He realizes that no one can hurt him. Now that he knows that, he kills more often simply for sport.
This turns him from misunderstood to a monster.
This also isolates him even further. Not only can he not communicate with anyone, but also now that
no one can hurt him, he nothing affects him. He is isolated.
The room goes suddenly white, as if struck by lightening. I stare down, amazed. He has torn off my
arm at the shoulder! Blood pours down where the limb was. (p172)
Grendel s tragic downfall of his death by Beowulf is cause by his self belief. He believes no one can
hurt him so he approaches Beowulf instead of running away. If he was aware of Beowulf, and realized
that he was not like the other men, and instead of thinking, nothing can hurt him, he might have
survived.
The Snow Man
And have been cold a long time
To behold the junipers shagged with ice,
The spruces rough in the distant glitter (ln 4 6)
Enjambment in the poem sets the mood. The mood is that as of a snowfall, quiet cold, settled and
slow. The poem does not need to rush its thoughts into a sentence or a stanza. By separating the
thoughts into different lines and stanzas forces the reader to read slowly as that of a snowfall. The
reader reads the poem peacefully, which depicts the images of a peaceful snow, covered forest.

Thomas Malthus—Section Summary
Thomas Malthus Section Summary Malthus work, Essay on the Principle of Population, is often cited,
first by Darwin himself, to have influenced Darwin s conception of the theory of natural selection. His
work, though unpopular, and often proven to be off the mark, did in fact bring to the forefront many
socio economic issues that are still being debated today: population control, food production and
concerns over uncontrollable diseases arising from the effects of over population. In this passage it is
stated that Malthus was proven wrong: ...Malthus dire predictions have proven to be wrong...
(Efficiency and Equity 211). However, though his calculations have proven to be wrong because he
could not accurately account for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Malthus determined that during this particular scarcity of bread, that though the shortage was less than
comparable shortages in other European countries, the cost of bread was 3 times as high as normal
when, by comparison, the other countries with worse shortages of bread and bread ingredients, only
demonstrated a doubling of prices. Malthus was obviously very aware of the effect pricing could have
on food supplies and production. Another criticism of Malthus that is only alluded to in the text is his
tendency to heap an undue amount of blame on the lower classes for their role in population growth:
An 1881 report concluded that 80 percent of famine victims were drawn from the poorest 20 percent
of the population...Thus, if the government spent more of its revenue on famine relief, an even larger
proportion of the population would become penurious...although the administration was divided about
the value of famine relief, these Malthusian views undoubtedly affected its volume and timing
(Caldwell, par.40)
Malthus didn t necessarily propose that poverty, exploding population growth, famine and disease was
intentionally the fault of the poor and lowest social classes, but that it was their inability

Essay about The 2008 Financial Crisis
Have banks responded to the public accusation that the 2008 financial crisis was caused by a crisis of
character in their industry by actively seeking candidates of integrity and character?
There are two components to this research question: The first draws on strategic management research
and the notion of organizational legitimacy and to what degree organizations operationally respond to
public opinion; the second is the concept of character, what it means, how it is conceptualized,
measured and operationalised through the selection of new employees. I hypothesize that, since
September 2008, banks:
1. have changed the qualities they seek in employee candidates;
2. and are now actively seeking candidates with higher levels of ... Show more content on

National Public Radio (NPR) in the US has suggested there is moral rot on Wall Street. In all, an acute
level of pressure has befallen the global banking industry, shining a bright spotlight on the role of
ethics, integrity and character in organizations.
And rightly so. The benefits of hiring and training employees with character and ethics have been
shown to relate at an individual level to well being (Park, Peterson Seligman 2004), and at an
organizational level to performance and leadership success (Sarros Cooper 2006). Ethics also aids in
retaining employees (McDaniel, Organizational Ethics: Research and Ethical Environments, 2004),
which is increasingly business critical as the war for talent intensifies (Michaels, Handfield Jones,
Axelrod, War for Talent, Harvard Business School Press, McKinzie Co, 2001). McDaniel suggests
leaders have two ways to instil ethics in their firms the selection method and the training method.
However, Beer (1998) asserts that selection is really the only reliable method for finding employees
with desired characteristics, as unlike skills and knowledge, personal

1) What perceptions of others are reflected attending Miss Columbia s School House (Document 1)?
How does Aguinaldo s criticism of America s policies towards the Philippines (Document 2) echo the
1894 political cartoon? What do these two documents suggest about the way America perceived
conquered peoples and the likelihood that they would ever be fit for American citizenship and its
liberties?
There is a very different perception of the others as presented by the issue in the Miss Columbia
School. Others are seen as the no Americans and particularly the non whites who are seen to be
inferior and cannot be compared to the American citizens. The male figure that is seen to ... Show

It can also be said to be a state of lawlessness. The only means of management is through the use of
force.
The Americans saw conquered people as slaves and that they were inferior. The manner and nature of
racism shows clearly that they did not believe that the conquered individuals can manage themselves.
They were also sure that they could never at any time fit in the shoes of the Native Americans who
were very superior to them. In other words, all the conquered people were slaves and servants.
2) What relationship does President Eisenhower draw between events in the modern Civil Rights
Movement and the goals of the United States in waging the Cold War (Document 3)? How does the
Alcatraz Proclamation (Document 4) and the The Soiling of Old Glory photograph (Document 5)
reflect the increasing radicalization of the Civil Rights Movement by the 1970s as well as the violent
responses it could produce within Anglo American communities? Based upon Eisenhower s speech,
how do you believe he would respond to Documents 4 and 5 in the context of the Cold War?
The president believe that the right movements do not have their say in many issues. He believes that
the rule of the supreme courts should be and must be implemented using all the mechanisms that are
in place. In reference to the case that had happened at the little rock and the attention that it had
received over issues of racism, the common thing that is drawn is that in both, the

Civil Service Benefits
Requiring all high school students to spend one year in service after high school is an amazing idea. A
civil service is a great way to teach young adults responsibility and rigor. Civil service teaches
students great responsibilities like tending to wounds and learning how to care for yourself, as well as
others. young adults often have jobs other than just to protect our country in the civil service, they
often clean, serve food, and much more. These jobs are put in place to teach these new soldiers rigor
in their daily tasks that can be put in place for future jobs, therefore congress should definitely pass
this law. In addition to giving some students an idea of what they would like to do for the rest of their
lives, civil service opens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Often learning trial and error, most young adults haven t learned how to take care of themselves. Not
to mention the fact that being in the civil service is highly dangerous. Some families would be very
upset if their child died in the service because they were forced to go there. The population would
significantly decrease if this law was issued because millions of heroes die every year being in the
civil service, and as of now only males are on a list to go. Some student just aren t in good enough
physical shape to join the civil service and may require more effort/time to be in peak physical shape
instructors would like. This would waste valuable time in training than just letting those students go
off to college. Because some students would like to be in fields requiring many years of school and
don t have time to serve in the civil service, only certain young adults should be required to the civil
service for a year. So all together, I think Congress should pass this law, but put stricter limitations on
who has to go into the civil service for a year because students haven t learned valuable life skills and
some have important careers to attend

headhunters? In order to maximise your use of headhunters, it s helpful to understand who they are

being filled. Hybrid agency: o There are a number of headhunting agencies that use a hybrid model,
under which part of the fee is paid upfront, with the rest being contingent on filling of the position. As
a candidate, you should know that headhunters are always paid by their client, which is the
organisation looking to hire. This means the loyalty of the agency is on the client and not necessarily
you as the candidate. This can mean headhunters aren t interested in providing any type of career
counselling and other advice for you. In addition, this can mean the recruiter goes for standard
candidates, who match the job description, as these are what the clients tend to prefer. Overall,
headhunters are not looking for the most talented or likeable candidate. How do headhunters operate?
So, what is the typical process headhunters use to find the right match? The name, headhunter, is
rather suitable for explaining the proceeds, as headhunters tend to hunt for the right candidates, instead
of necessarily waiting for the candidate to come to them. The basic process tends to follow these
steps: ➢ The headhunter receives a job description from

The Causes Of The Drought In California
The Drought in California has lasted about five years. California is an American state known for it
agricultural industry and large cities. It is on the West Coast near the Ocean as well. It is supposed to
get both rain and snowfall throughout the year, but the drought has prevented as sufficient amount
from occurring.
The drought was caused by overuse and over extraction from water tables and freshwater sources for
the commercial agricultural industry. The biggest cause, however, was a high pressure system near the
coast diverting storms away from California because it cannot rain California is in a drought.
Due to this drought, many crops have dies leading to poverty for many farmers. People are lacking
clean drinking water forcing the state to bring it in from other states. Water tables are collapsing as
well.
To mitigate loss of life close monitoring of dry woods needs to occur that way if a forest fire starts it
can be put out easier, or the surrounding areas can evacuate more effectively.
People are also shifting away from grass lawns to save water from being wasted on something purely
for intrinsic value. They are also using less water for washing dishes and showering to prevent the
need for any more water extraction.
California is also importing more produce instead of growing it on their own to prevent
malnourishment and supplement the lack of produce being grown in state.
8. Hurricane/serious storm case study: discuss a serious hurricane or tropical storm. Where did it hit
and what impact did it have? How did/could weather monitoring mitigate loss?
Hurricane Katrina hit The United States and Canada. In the United States, it did the most damage in
New Orleans, Louisiana. It also hit parts of Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Mississippi and
Alabama.
It came onto land as a Category three hurricane with powerful windspeeds reaching more than 125
miles per hour.
New Orleans is a large city hit by Katrina with most the land being lower to sea level making It prone
to flooding. It is also has the Mississippi river flowing through it. There are many poverty stricken
neighborhoods usually in areas with more flooding.
Meteorologists were capable of predicting Hurricane Katrina

  • 2. Dissociative Identity Disorder ( Mpd ) Dissociate Identity Disorder Marjorie Morales Troy University Dissociative identity disorder (DID), also known as multiple personality disorder (MPD), is still known today as one of the most controversial psychiatric diagnoses (Priya Siva, 2013). It indicates the existence of two or more identities or different personalities that repeatedly assumes control over the behavior of the person affected. In the majority of cases, dissociative identity disorder appears along with other symptoms, in which many times has been misdiagnosed (Ringrose, 2011). Repetitive childhood abuses are considered as the main cause of dissociative identity disorder (Fraser, 2014). The division of two or more identities can be understood as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dissociative identity disorder is characterized by the presence of two or more distinct identities or personality states that recurrently take control of the individual s behavior, accompanied by an inability to recall important personal information that is too extensive to be explained by ordinary forgetfulness (Ringrose, 2011). It is a disorder characterized by identity fragmentation, rather than proliferation of separate personalities (Fraser, 2014). Many people equate colloquially dissociative identity disorder and schizophrenia in a wrong way (Priya Siva, 2013). While in the case of schizophrenia can both be identification with another person within the framework of a megalomaniac in the identity disorder dissociative exist two or more personalities in a person (Priya Siva, 2013). A person with dissociative identity disorder does not react to the same medications used in the treatment of schizophrenia (Priya Siva, 2013). Traumas, during the early stages of human life span development are amongst the causes responsible for a dissociative identity disorder (Macintosh, 2013). Most of the individual s affected, suffered repeated physical or sexual abuse during childhood, were neglected and or even abandoned (Macintosh, 2013). In serious cases, many of these children were abused during rituals in sects or cult s (Macintosh, 2013). Major trauma experienced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Similarities Between Jainism And Buddhism Jainism and Buddhism share some common ground and similarities in their beliefs and practices, and they also have features that make them unique and distinctively different from the other. Some of the central similarities of Jainism and Buddhism can be found in when and where their traditions originated, resemblances in their primary teachers, their religious goals, nonbelief in a creator, and their values of nonattachment and nonviolence. Some differences between Jainism and Buddhism are found in their karmic principles and the conception of the soul. There seems to be more parallels shared between Jainism and Buddhism than discrepancies. Jainism s and Buddhism s main teachers of the practices also share some similarities. Although the Jain teachings did not originate with him, Mahavira, known as The Great Hero, was the major teacher of the Jain path. Around the same time in the 5th century BCE, Siddhartha Gautama was teaching another path which would come to be known as Buddhism. These two teachers were each a prince of a Kshatriya clan and both renounced his position of wealth at around the same age: Mahavira was 30, and Siddhartha Gautama was 29. (Fisher, 2013, pp. 121, 137, 138) Both Jainism and Buddhism originated in India. Yet, unlike Hinduism, neither is based on the Vedas, and both were alternatives to the ritual oriented Brahmanism of India. The extreme antiquity of Jainism is well documented from ancient Hindu and Buddhist scriptures, but the teachings ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A New Drug Development Process Introduction: A new drug development process starts with animal testing, before it is been tested in humans. These animal studies are designed to ensure that the drug is effective and safe in animals. Moreover, the results obtained should be reproducible. But even the reproducible results on animal studies cannot provide relevant prediction of the safe and effectiveness of a new drug. Scientists often stipulate the structural and physiological similarities between human and animals as a reason for performing animal testing and then relating or extrapolating the results for the first in human clinical testing, also known as Phase I clinical trials. Although, it is very clear that the human life expectancy is much higher compared to animals, because of the way things metabolize in human body, or to the environment a human body is exposed to or due to the minute genetic difference between human species and some other species. Also, diseases which are imposed by genetic engineering into the animals during animal studies differ significantly than the natural occurrence of a disease. Scientists are aware of these flaws that come with the use of animal model testing, like drugs that may be safe and effective in animals might not necessarily be safe and effective in humans. One such example is Thalidomide , which was used in 1950 s as a sedative product and was used to treat morning sickness of pregnant women. This drug was totally safe and effective in animals, but when used ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay on Recognizing the Armenian Genocide The Armenian Genocide, also known as the Armenian Holocaust, was the organized killing of Armenians. While there is no clear agreement on how many Armenians lost their lives, there is general agreement among Western scholars that over a million Armenians may have perished between 1914 and 1918. It all happened during the Ottoman Empire, present day Turkey, where 2 million Armenians lived. The Armenian Genocide is the second most studied massacre, after the Holocaust. To date Twenty two countries have officially recognized what happened as genocide, but Turkey to this day rejects the events as genocide. One starts to wonder what could cause such hatred to commit such a heinous crime, and then go to great lengths to deny the fact that it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, in 1913, an ultra nationalist group within the movement seized control of the group. This faction was comprised of men who believed in creating a pure Turkish country that excluded non Muslim and non Turkish people like the Christian Armenians (FACT SHEET). Two of head people of CUP (Committee for Union and Progress) would later be responsible for initiating the mass murder. They were Talat Pasha, and Jamal Pasha. Talat Pasha, also known as Mehmed Talat, was the minister of interior affairs and Jamal Pasha was the Military Governor of Syria. These leaders became close friends with Germany which in turn supplied the Turks with military support and training and in 1914, the Ottoman Empire aligned itself with Germany and the central powers in World War I. As the war raged on, and the Turks fought the Christian Russians, they began to worry about the Armenians. They were worried that the Armenians would turn on them and fight on the enemy s side. Therefore CUP decided the best thing to do is eliminate the race, wipe them off the face of the earth. The start of the genocide started early in the year of 1915. The Turkish government starts to poke at an Armenian massacre by publicly accusing and punishing Armenian bakers on an obviously false charge of poisoning their bread (Genocide). By this time the Turks have also disarmed most of the Armenians that are/were serving in the military (FACT SHEET). April 24th 1915, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. What Are Flashbulb Memories Throughout our lives, we definitely have gone through a lot of experiences and made memories. Some of the memories are easily forgotten, while some others are remembered distinctively, vividly and can be recollected confidently. This is called the flashbulb memory. Flashbulb memory is like a very clear picture of a particularly impactful event which had caused one to be affected emotionally. For example, I remember this performance that my school choir was performing. It was during Christmas season and we decided to spray bubble foam to portray fake snow. However, the plan backfired when the wind blew at our direction and all the foam flew back to us. This was remembered very clearly because I was embarrassed and had experienced something so ... • 8. Voting Rights Act Pros And Cons I have come to a realization that the United States of America has taken a huge step back into history. Instead of learning from our past and growing we have elected a President that only brings racist remarks symbolizing everything that the United States does not identify as. Due to the election it has brought us much awareness of how ignorant the people who were elected into office to be the people s voice. We have accomplished many things as a society, but still render the key elements to take the blindfold of the ignorance that hovers around people. The Voting Rights act has been dismantled and sadly, we are returning to our racists background, or maybe we just never acknowledged them until we elected a blatant racist president. The Voting Right s act represents a huge faze in our History of how we transformed into a more welcoming society for all people no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As everyone may know The Daily Show is a widely popular show that informs viewers of current news through humour (John,2017). The Daily show had an episode dedicated to why Shelby county wanted to get rid of sec 4(b) and 5 of the voting rights act (John,2017). Supposedly Voting I.D laws was a suggestion to prevent voting fraud which was assessed to having 1 to 2 cases not 1,000 to 2,000 but simply 1 to 2 cases (John,2017). It s a non ethical approach because there have only been 1 to 2 cases of fraud which does not call for an extreme tactic of presenting I.D laws (John,2017). The Daily show dived into how the voting I.D laws was a strategic ideal to incorporate all these restrictions to stop the Democratic party (John,2017). By going after black Latino they would overall halt the Democratic party because they mainly vote democrat (John,2017). • 9. The Link Between English Reading And Mathematics I noted that historically, any link between English reading (Arts) and Mathematics skills (Science) seems to have been at best a tenuous one. The issue brought into the public domain by C P Snow (Rede Lecture 1959) where he claimed: The two cultures (Arts and Science) stare at each other with mutual hostility and dislike... If this state of affairs was reflected in educational establishments of that time the likelihood of any meaning full cooperation between those engaging in the teaching of reading comprehension and mathematics would seem to be very remote indeed. Thankfully, changes in opinion did occur over time and by the 1990 s interest in children s maths skills also led to an increase in research into the association between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He subsequently explains that it is the format for instruction that presents the difficulty. He demonstrates if a given task is to calculate a mathematical problem and information is presented as numbers with operational signs sequenced appropriately, children who understand algorithms can proceed with ease. However, when the mathematical task to answer includes information that is presented at the outset in words and sentences, pupils must first comprehend the text before they can use the appropriate algorithmic skill. Obviously then even the best maths students cannot solve problems they don t fully understand. Fuentes (1998) maintains the narrative of mathematical problems tends to be compacted where mathematical concepts and relationships are often hidden, implied or assumed and the pupil is left to expand and extract the true meaning. This is in marked contrast to the narrative of storybooks which tends to be expansive and elaborate. In addition he notes that the ambiguity found in the interpretation of for example, a poem may well be applauded however any ambiguity in maths text interpretation simply means failure. From research I have encountered thus far I must agree that good reading comprehension is essential for interpreting mathematical texts. Baker (1995) and Christen and Murphy ... • 10. Summary Of Escape From The Western Diet In Escape from the Western Diet Michael Pollan argues against the scientific theories of nutrition, and discusses the harmful effects, and chronic diseases associated with the Western Diet. Pollan offers an alternate view of a healthier lifestyle to escape the western diet that simply suggests that we stop eating and thinking that way. (Pollan 423) He explains that the food industry has changed the wholeness of our food, which causes us to eat unhealthier things such as fast food. He approaches a solution to these contradictory theories and science by focusing on a personal approach to eating that is based on the individual s view of food. Pollan three rules to create a healthier lifestyle are to Eat food. Not too much. • 11. Persuasive Speech On Animal Testing As a huge animal lover, I was disgusted to hear about Ebbie s story. Ebbie was a beagle rescued from an animal testing lab in Spain. When he was rescued by an organization called Beagle Freedom Project, he was deathly ill, emaciated and had tumors all over his frail body. Before being rescued, he had spent his entire life in solitary confinement where humans tested many deadly chemicals on him. When he first moved into his new home after being rescued, he just spent his days lying on the floor and was unwilling to interact with humans in anyway. It s truly incredible that after months of love and compassion from people that fostered him, he learned about love and trust towards humans after being so dramatically traumatized from the abuse he received in a lab. I stand here today to present you with the issue that needs to be addressed immediately: the abuse of millions of innocent and defenseless animals through animal experimentation. Millions of animals are in agonizing pain while being kept in tiny cages of labs while scientists inject dangerous substances in them and perform risky surgeries on them. Such immorality of scientists is allowed because there are no laws that prohibit this torture and protect the quality of life of these innocent animals. The root of animal testing started thousands of years ago when scientists studied animals. During the early twentieth century, more people became curious about biology and body systems; therefore, studied on animals. As ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Marie Antoinette Essay Marie Antoinette (2006), starring Kirsten Dunst, Jamie Dornan and Jason Schwartzman, is a fictional movie biopic based on the life of famous French queen and one of the last monarchs before the French Revolution, Marie Antoinette, wife of King Louis XVI. The film s director, Sofia Coppola, has revealed that she stylized the historical figures in such a way as to make them seem more humanised, and allow viewers to connect with the events, as well as admitting that she did not wish for the film to simply focus on historical fact, stating that It is not a lesson of history. It is an interpretation documented, but carried by my desire for covering the subject differently. Several critics have praised the film as being more of a satire than a ... The following is an excerpt of Marie Antoinette s letter to her mother after her wedding, which clearly states Marie s happiness with France and her love for her husband: What was really affecting was the tenderness and earnestness of the poor people, who, in spite of the taxes with which they are overwhelmed, were transported with joy at seeing us... Before we withdrew we [Marie and Louis] kissed our hands to the people, which gave them great pleasure. These letters also describe how Marie felt about the lower class peasants of France, who had treated her with welcome and kindness, before they had shown signs of eventually turning on her after she pushed the country further in debt. Overall, the inclusion of these letters in Marie Antoinette is an accurate representation of Marie s feelings. Marie Antoinette continued to incur the ire of the French by her lavish lifestyle, which highlighted that the monarchy little understood the needs of their people. Whilst the peasants paid high taxes, Marie Antoinette threw extravagant parties, ordered a constant supply of expensive clothing and often gambled the French s money away unsuccessfully. In the film, several montage scenes of Marie and other members of nobility accurately depict her attending parties, gambling and behaving in an inappropriate manner. This is an entirely accurate depiction of Marie s lifestyle. The film also accurately represents that Marie Antoinette having a model farm built Hameau de la ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moreover, the proportion of its flat areas is approximately 20%, which mostly occurs at hilltops and coastal beaches. The proportion of gentle and moderate slopes are around 25%, and most of them occur in the middle area of the island; the proportion of the steep slopes is about 30% which are located near and at the coasts. On the opposite, the high energy waves create coastal cliffs from wave erosion, and when coastal cliffs are formed, waves will break and release a great deal of energy. This view contrasts with the traditional dispositional perspective, which locates evil within individual predispositions and looks at a person s internal factors and traits. The situationist perspective is different in that, unlike the dispositional perspective, it often uses experimental and laboratory research to demonstrate vital phenomena, whereas other perspectives may only use archival or correlational data to suggest such answers. The main example that illustrates through experimental research and social analysis is the ease by which ordinary, good people are induced into behaving in evil ways. ... Lord of the Flies and the Psychology of Deindividuation This section is mainly about The Lord of the Flies by William Golding and how it illustrates that one s external physical appearance can lead to a tremendous change in one s mental state. It is really interesting how in the book, once the boys get over the initial moral dilemma of whether to kill a pig and live or whether to let the pig live and die themselves, they have no problem with killing pigs. With every killing, the death of the pig seems to become more brutal and demoralizing. At one point, they even impale the pig with a stick in the anus, proclaiming their deed in horrific valor. This goes back to sexual aggression because it can be viewed as the raping and killing of a female pig. I can justify the gradual ease of killing pigs with an example. My friend, who goes hunting often, told me about how he can manage to kill a dear without feeling bad inside. He said that the actual killing is only hard the first time and that the other times, it is relatively easy because one simply stops thinking about it. The Effects Of Demonic Possession And Psychological Illness Many have tried to argue for the existence of demonic possession, some even go so far as to say that demonic possession and psychological illnesses are fundamentally different. If mental illness and demonic possession are not simply different names for the same thing, then we are left with two possibilities. Either they are unrelated phenomena, or there is some kind of association between them. Of course, even if they are unrelated, they may still be confused with each other because of superficial similarities. If they are related, however, we need to understand the nature of the connection between them. Thus, we may be faced with a differential diagnostic problem. Either we need to distinguish which of these two entities we are dealing with, or else we need to identify which is the primary problem which led to the other as a secondary complication. The goal of this paper is to thoroughly analyze the history of demonic in comparison to the psychological illness, schizophrenia, a disorder that remains without a complete cure and is still extremely debilitating for the diagnosed if they are not receiving treatment. This will be done by describing both the origin of demonic possession and schizophrenia, identifying the way each are diagnosed, and how they are treated. I will then provide an example of an exorcism done to banish a demon where schizophrenia might have been a better diagnosis. I will finally discuss why demonic possession and the illness schizophrenia are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

So, the sensed data of nodes can be sent to the base station after passing through a number of nearest neighbor s nodes rather than directly transmitting to it. This strategy, in turn, saves the energy of the sensing nodes and thus contributes a lot to the battery life of the nodes. 1.3 PARAMETERS DEFINIG PERFORMANCE OF WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS 1.3.1 POWER OR ENERGY EFFICIENCY Power efficiency is the first factor that directly affects the performance of the nodes and hence of the overall sensor network. For better and desired performance, the nodes of a WSN must be efficient in terms of power which in simple words means that the duty cycle of the nodes must be made small [5]. The design considerations must take into account the sleeping mode of the nodes when there is no activity thereby reducing power consumption and contributing to performance enhancement. However, the sleep mode of nodes has the main disadvantage that if any of the nodes remains in the sleep mode for a significant chunk of time, it is likely that communication with neighbors nodes may come to a halt. Also, a reduced duty cycle for the network nodes leads to threatening the network reliability. The data as well as the control packets that maintain the routing and communication among the nodes of the sensor network will also have a delayed reception. Efficient use of power also increases the battery timing or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is on the West Coast near the Ocean as well. It is supposed to get both rain and snowfall throughout the year, but the drought has prevented as sufficient amount from occurring. The drought was caused by overuse and over extraction from water tables and freshwater sources for the commercial agricultural industry. The biggest cause, however, was a high pressure system near the coast diverting storms away from California because it cannot rain California is in a drought. Due to this drought, many crops have dies leading to poverty for many farmers. People are lacking clean drinking water forcing the state to bring it in from other states. Water tables are collapsing as well.
