The Musical, My Fair Lady Directed By George Cukor
Critical Review This critical review is about the musical, My Fair Lady, directed by George Cukor
based on the play Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw. This musical altered some of the scenes and
added new ones. The basic storyline of the text is about a young flower girl that runs into a phonetics
teacher who claims that he could sell her as a duchess. The flower girl, which is later known to be
Eliza, takes up the offer and starts speech lessons with the teacher, Mr. Higgins. He coachers her night
and day to prepare her for a race and an embassy ball where she will meet royalty. Mr. Higgins is also
acquainted in the beginning with one of his respected colleagues who also specialize in phonetics,
Colonel Pickering. Although, Higgins treats her as baggage he soon gets attached to her and her ways.
Colonel Pickering however, treats her as a respectable lady. She has a great success at the ball but is
not recognized for it, which disappoints her. She decides to run away to Mrs. Higgins house where she
found by Higgins and Pickering. She organizes her thoughts with Higgins and says she will never
come back to them but at the end of the movie, not the play, she comes back to Higgins and Pickering.
The main play and musical is based off of a similar storyline which goes something like this: There is
a young flower girl who has a cockney accent which prevents her from getting a nice high paying job.
Her dream is to work in a flower shop as an assistant. She runs into a phonetics

KAMSC Stairs Essay
The KAMSC Stairs The lessons we take from failure can be fundamental to later success. Recount an
incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the
experience? As I reach the top of the stairs, I am panting and out of breath. No matter how many times
I have complete the climb to the top, it has never become any easier, but as I arrive at the doors I relish
the heavy breathing as evidence that I have made it. Not to the top of the stairs, but to KAMSC, the
Kalamazoo Area Math and Science Center, a place that two years ago, had appeared unattainable. Two
and a half years ago I was completing that very same climb, not as a student ready to seize the day, but
as a potential applicant eager to learn what this mysterious school had to offer. Was this really all I
was hoping for? Were the students similar to me? As hungry to learn as I was? I soon learned that I

First came the test. Then the application form, the essays, and finally teacher recommendations. When
I had completed the process, I proud of the effort I had put into this application, and I was confident
that it had what it took to secure me a place within the KAMSC class of 2018. I sent the forms off,
feeling pleased, but the application soon faded to the back of my mind as I returned my focus to
school. Several months passed before the rumors began to swirl. The acceptance letters were sent this
week, I heard as I walked through the hallways. The excitement I had felt while sending the letter off,
quickly returned. In only a few short days I would know my fate. When the day finally arrived, I
found the signature teal stamped letter from KAMSC in my mailbox, but as I picked it up I realized
that something was wrong. The letter was to thin. I tore it open, hoping that what I was perceiving was
only the result of my nerves, but when I looked down all I could see were two words, wait

Alphabet Murders Case Study
Unsolved Case of the Alphabet Murders During the 1970 s, a chilling series of events had the people
of New York on edge. The citizens around Rochester were particularly anxious. Three victims in the
surrounding areas had been discovered, each with double initials. The unsolved case of the Alphabet
Murders leaves the people of New York inquisitive and horrified to this day. 10 year old Carmen
Colon was the first to disappear on November 16, 1971. She was said to have walked alone to the
pharmacy earlier that day, to pick up a prescription for her stepsister. She had to wait at least an hour
before the medicine was ready, so she left the pharmacy to run other errands. However, she never
returned to pick up the prescription, nor came back home. When 5PM rolls around, Carmen s worried

Scottsboro Trial Research Paper
Today, in the United States, people are not punished for the color of their skin, back in the 1930s, a
person s race was taken into consideration when in court. There are many instances of racism in both
trials, which impacted the outcome. The Scottsboro Trial consisted of two white girls and a group of
black youths. 21 year old Victoria Price and 17 year old Ruby Bates were on a train ride back to their
hometown, Huntsville, with a group of seven white boys. A group of 12 15 black youths were said to
have joined the train and, later, a white boy, stepped on Haywood Patterson, a black male s hand, and
a brawl erupted which caused the white boys to be driven out. After this, the white girls claimed that
they were raped, each by six black males. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One reason why their testimonies were doubted was because of their sketchy backgrounds. Because of
their backgrounds, they were not respected by their community and, therefore, they were not trusted.
Before the Scottsboro trials, both Victoria and Ruby worked at the Margaret Mill and they grew up
lacking a father figure, something that brought shame to their families. Also, Victoria was said to be a
prostitute and Ruby lived among Negroes (Ransdall). In To Kill a Mockingbird, Scout is deceived by
Mayella s appearance, but then sees the true Mayella, ... she seemed somehow fragile looking, but
when she sat facing us in the witness chair she became what she was, a thick bodied girl accustomed
to strenuous labor (Lee 239). All three of the girls skin color also affected the outcome of the trials,
they were all privileged white ladies, for that reason, the jury belived whatever they said. One of the
black youths accused of rape, disclosed his thoughts saying, I knew if a white woman accused a black
man of rape, he was as good as dead (Linder, Famous Trials ). This man knew he had little hope of
winning the trial, like Atticus in To Kill a Mockingbird. Attics knew that Mayella had the upper hand
in this case because of her skin color, about this he says, She is the victim of cruel poverty and
ignorance, but I cannot pity her: she is white.

Vikings Influence On American History
Humanity has had a long and rich history, where much of history is written from only a few
perspectives throughout the ages. Whichever perspectives were most clearly and widely distributed
are the perspectives contained in the majority of the history books, no matter how limited or biased.
Most of these perspectives are born from European backgrounds, where the dominant European
backgrounds are the result of victories in war and expansion of not only territories but also beliefs.
The country that was dominant in battle, in most cases, was the dominant perspective in that time, and
that was the dominant stance that was written into History. On the other hand, the cultures that were
not victorious in their endeavors are usually misrepresented ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Many nations at the time, assumed that there was nothing worthwhile out to the West and that by
sending ships and explorers out West, they would never return. The Vikings never had such thoughts,
rather they firmly believed that fate was predetermined at the moment of birth, and all that life really
is, is just playing out those acts of fate; therefore, if fate was to say that it was the time for death to
occur, then there is no point in being scared to die; so why not go out and be bold? (Walsh). They had
a mindset that was focused on success, and without the fear of death to deter them, they were not only
ruthless in their conquests but also courageous in their voyages across the Atlantic. This mindset,
combined with the marvel that is the Viking Longboat, was the core strength used by the Vikings as
they slowly went across the Atlantic Ocean and settled the land, starting with the Faeroe Islands,
northwest of Scotland in about 860 AD, then, about a decade later, the Norse reached Iceland
(Lemonick and Dorfman 2). This initial wave of movement westward sparked a larger movement over
time of larger Norse populations towards Iceland, where at one point, there were as many as 12,000
Viking immigrants ultimately settled there, taking their farm animals with them (Lemonick and
Dorfman 2). This mass migration and settlement outside of the native Scandinavian territory mimics
the conquest and expansion of other great Empires, the only difference in the Vikings situation is that
they did it by sea and all other nations did it by land; that, and the fact that the more westward they
moved, the less they had to deal with other nations and more with the fury of the

Affirmative Action Thesis
Topic: The Importance of Affirmative Action in the College Admissions Process
Thesis: In order to resolve underrepresentation of African Americans in higher education, affirmative
action is needed to promote diversity, improve students critical thinking skills, and increase race
consciousness by utilizing race as a factor in college admissions.
University of California Regents v. Bakke, 438 U.S. 265, 98 S. Ct. 2733, 57 L. Ed. 2d 750 (1978).
The Reagents of the University of California v. Bakke is a US Supreme Court case from 1978 that
upheld the use of affirmative action and allowed education institutions to use race a factor in their
admissions policy. However, the US Supreme Court decided that the use of racial quotas, such as the

William Bowen and Dr. Derek Bok composed one of the most comprehensive studies of different
affirmative action programs among universities in the United States. One of the most crucial findings
from their study was that the commonly held mismatch theory is false. The mismatch theory arose
from critics of affirmative action who feared that letting African American students into selective
universities that had lower test scores would result in a lower performance than the average student.
However, the authors discovered that black students who attended competitive colleges performed
better than their academically equivalent peers who attended a less rigorous school. This is critical
because if affirmative action was not in place, then the African American students would most likely
attend the less selective schools as their academic equivalent peers and would end up having a less
successful outcome. In addition, the study illustrated that African American students who benefitted
from Affirmative Action programs in college ended up having a greater chance at post graduate

The Nanny Dilemm Chapter Analysis
The second chapter, The Nanny Dilemma, gives us an understanding that Dominique just like many
New York nannies leave their hometowns, families and everything behind to work. I can agree with
what Cheever mentioned Here the children are the boss, the children run the home . It s the truth,
because in United States were have lots of working parents who have to leave their children at day
cares or after school programs. An approximate earning for a full time nanny is less than 600 dollars a
week. Personally, being a nannie is a huge responsibility and sometimes extra work comes without
extra pay. The sad part about nanny roles is being away from your own children and just like
Dominique s case, the children see her all the time, and the children

Summary Of The Hitchhiking Game
In the story of The Hitchhiking Game , we learn that a couple of a man and woman go on vacation
together. They decided to play game with each other known as the hitchhiking game. To be completely
fair, the game itself can be fun or dangerous depending how far you take the game. Within the story,
man and woman are competing against each other to see whose will is stronger than the other. We see
power encounters throughout the whole story and leave us to wonder who the winner of the game is
either the man or the woman. From what we gather in the beginning of the story, the man loves the
woman because of her innocence. The man enjoyed her moments of shyness because it was a precious
thing to him but this slowly changes when they start playing the game. As we see their time at dinner,
the man notices the more the girl withdrew from him psychically, the more he longed for her
physically. The man s point of view of the woman changes from emotional to just physical. It is like
the man went back to his caveman or animalistic instincts in the way he desires the woman. The man
shows that he is the hunter and the woman is his prey, and the pursuit is very excitable. There are
some men that love the pursuit and after they claimed their prize, it does not excite them like it once
had because it does not have the same thrill. He basically wants to dominate the woman and show her
that he is in control, and has power over her. All males have experienced this feeling over someone

Stereotypes In The Nfl
There are many jobs to have in the National Football League (NFL), but who are the people that own
those job titles? When people think of the NFL the general perception of the league is men that hit
other men really hard. If one is to really look into depth of the NFL one could see the dramatic
differences between a team owner, the starting quarterback, to the ticket sales manager, and even the
athletic trainers. An inequality occurring in the NFL today is that these positions are not diverse and
have somehow created stereotypes and expectations for the people that should occupy them. These
images between people that should work in these specific positions varies from race, socioeconomic
classes and gender. This is having major ramifications ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Essentially people from higher socioeconomic status backgrounds are not only more opportune, but
one could say they are also considered more qualified for the higher influential jobs. People of higher
socioeconomic backgrounds not only have better chances at these jobs but have better preparation
opportunities for these jobs. Going to college for a higher education and being able to travel for work
or being properly prepared for an interview are all factors that affect the opportunity at even being
considered a candidate for the job. An example of this is how many league ownerships are kept in the
family and passed down from generation to generation. It also makes it harder, for people of lower
socioeconomic backgrounds to make a run for the higher up administration jobs, because they weren t
born on third base meaning they have a lot more to overcome such as, networking and making
influential relationship with people that have influence to get someone a job of that caliber. The idea
of meritocracy is engraved into Americans visons of the future, but sadly these are false hopes. This is
because of the idea of people already having security for jobs that will support their future. But this isn
t only with front office jobs, but player and player personnel as well. We always here of rags to riches
stories with many players, but often do we forget that many NFL players either have some family

Legal Rule Of Downstream Confusion
So far, the Sixth Circuit has only applied downstream, or post sale, confusion, to cases involving
knockoff products, but the legal rule of downstream confusion should also apply to non knockoff
products. The Lanham Act s text and the legislator s intent while modifying the Act suggests that
downstream confusion applies to products other than knockoff products. 15 U.S.C. §1127 (2012).
Also, the Sixth Circuit has substituted point of sale confusion with post sale confusion before, and
should again in our case. Lastly, courts outside of the Sixth Circuit applied downstream confusion to
cases that did not involve knockoff products. First, the text of the Lanham act suggests that products

not clearly inferior to the plaintiff s product, which led to the court finding that post sale confusion

the defendant s jeans and associated the jeans with appellee and that association influence[d] his
buying decisions. 799 F.2d at 872. The court makes no mention nor implies that the defendant s jeans
were a knockoff of plaintiff s jeans. Similarly, in Payless, a case in the federal circuit, Reebok

Descriptive Essay On The Beast
A HUNTER
After several hours of following the trace of the beast without sleeping or even resting, Anatoly was
starting to feel exhaustion getting to his bones. The night before, right after lying down to sleep, he
heard it walking around but he didnÂŽt manage to see it. He felt his breath warming his surroundings as
it tried to remain silent. It moved slowly expecting his guest to continue asleep; it did everything it
could to observe without being observed but it failed. Anatoly packed up immediately and began the
search.
He had arrived in the country three months ago from the millennial land of the Tsars. He was
marveled by the green gigantic mountains as he moved patiently towards his destination. He saw the
people covered in dark long clothes with no collars or sleeves, but a single hole for their heads to pass
through.
He stared at the old houses made of mud and manure where more insects lived than people. Dogs
wandered these lands trying to protect their owners from invisible enemies that dared to jump over the
stone fences and cross their fields. Trees created a mattress of dramatic silence where spirits
whispered their lost desires.
He saw this and so much more and felt fascinated by the lost world that science had destroyed in his
old continent.
When he got off the bus in the first town, he asked around about the creature that had been seen six
months ago by an expeditionary German group. He held in his hands the smudgy clipping taken from

Howard Gardner s Theory On Multiple Intelligences
Harvard psychologist Howard Gardner was born in Scranton Pennsylvania, and is best known for his
theory on Multiple Intelligences. Gardner s parents fled Germany to escape World War II, and came to
the United States of America. His parents will survive had an impact on Gardner from young age, but
the biggest effect of his parent s predicament led him to what would be his interest in psychology.
Gardner was going to be sent to Phillips Academy, however, he refused to go and attended a
preparatory school in Kingston, Pennsylvania. After Kingston he went to study at Harvard University
for a career in law. While at Harvard University he blossomed under his mentor Erik Erikson which
led to his interest in psychology. His interest in psychology led him to develop his theory on Multiple
Intelligences. This theory has led to him winning awards such as MacArthur Prize Fellowship,
William James Award, American Psychological Association, and Prince of Asturias Award in Social
Sciences. Howard Gardner s theory on Multiple Intelligences explains that there is no single
intelligence, but there are many intelligences which can improve the quality of education efforts(pg1).
Multiple Intelligences are different forms of intelligences which aid our problem solving skills. These
intelligences also describe a person s personality so his or her strengths can be used to help teach the
individual. Multiple Intelligences can also help him or her retain information. Because a person can

Spanish Conquistador John Houser
John Houser had a determination to relive his father s career passion as an assistant carver. When the
El Paso City council assigned a large scale project of the Spanish conquistador: Juan de Onate, Houser
grasped the project and wanted to create the largest bronze statue in the world. He envisioned the
statue as a long overdue contribution mission to embrace and represent the contributions of the
Hispanic culture and history to the United States. His vision of this great project was completely
different from the area s Native Americans point of view. The Native Americans saw horror and
discrimination in this statue because of their own personal memories of Onate. From the memories of

This decision would be finalized by going from house to house for opinions of the project and
conducting research of who Onate was. I honestly believe that if each official in the El Paso City
Council was to make a decision based on these methods, they would go against the Houser project for
sure. The arguments made by the groups testifying were based on the objective whether or not the
project should be completed. The side that testified that the completion of the sculpture shouldn t be
accomplished had a claim that correlated to who Onate was. From the claims made, they made a point
that Onate was a man who slaughtered, killed, raped people to steal their land. He treated them with
disrespect and building a sculpture of him and putting it in the middle of El Paso, would bring shame
to the city because he was a murder, not someone who anyone should look up to. Art has a powerful
meaning attached to it, and the sculpture to the Native Americans represented racism and reminded
them of the terror their ancestors went through which was overall a traumatic experience. The people
who supported the sculpture did not really know who Onate was, all they cared about was publicity
and history needed to be recognized and appreciated. My position in tearing down this project apart
would definitely represent the traditionalism subculture because this position does not appreciate this

Differences Between The Federal And Federal Court System
Two Separate Justice Systems The U.S. Constitution created a strong government structure for the
United States known as federalism. Both the federal and state governments must have their own court
systems to apply and interpret their own specific laws. Both federal and state constitutions attempt to
do this by specifically spelling out the jurisdiction of their own court systems. For example, U.S
Constitution gives Congress the power to make uniform laws concerning bankruptcies, a state court
would lack jurisdiction in this matter. Since the Constitution does not give the federal government
authority in most matters concerning the regulation of the family, a federal court would lack
jurisdiction in a divorce case. This is the main reason why there are two separate court systems in
America. The federal court system deals with issues of law relating to those powers implicitly granted
to them by the U.S. Constitution. The state court systems deal with issues of laws relating to those
matters that the U.S. Constitution did not give to the federal government or deny to the states.
Differences in the Structure of the Federal and State Court Systems. The Federal Court System: The
U.S. District Courts, the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the U.S. Supreme Court are governed by
Article III of the US Constitution. They also include two special courts: (a) the U.S. Court of Claims
and (b) the U.S. Court of International Trade. Often times than not the two

Self And Social Identity Theory Paper
When Henri Tajfel and John Turner came up the self and social identity theory, they set out to explain
the value of understanding self worth. Every human as a desire to feel a sense of belonging, but that
problem is not a simple as just sitting next to someone and saying these two people should feel
connected. The heart of this issue is often psychologist greatest challenge in cure a person metal state.
This paper will first look at what is self and social identity from a psychologist issue, than how the
power of the gospel as the ability to change that. Henri Tajfel believed that the groups we belong to
give us a sense of social identity. Those groups helped us feel a connection in the world which in turns
lead to a feeling of self worth (Tajifel, 1979). The groups we choose not only shaped our image of our
self but also had the ability to affect the way we act in the communities we lived in. So in essence with
that definition one could say that our character to the world is perceived through the self image we
portray. To take this idea a step further the first idea helps to define our social image. Our self image
becomes a bit more complicated. Its easy to get people to think certain things of us. Smile a lot and ...

Jesus calls us as followers to take up our cross and follow him. If we are to carry the benefits of this
new image we have in Christ, we must also be willing to carry the weight of that. That weight comes
from fleeing from sin and living in the image of Christ. The word repentance is found 75 times in the
Bible and it means simply to turn away. Luke uses the word 25 times alone and when he uses this
word, he is using it in the context of what we need to do when following Christ. Repent from our sins,
than turn away from them. That means we must be willing to do away with our old self image and
embrace the new that Christ has promised

How Social Exclusion Affects The Feeling Of Physical Coldness
Psychologists Chen Bo Zhong and Geoffrey Leonardelli from the University of Toronto wanted to
analyze the idea that social exclusion generates a physical response of coldness. In 2008, they did just
that by carrying out an experimental study to address two questions in two different experiments;
whether recall of a specific (social exclusion) event influences the feeling of physical coldness. The
second experiment is based on the hypothesis of the first, given that coldness leads to the liking for
warm or cold food. The present paper examines whether or not notions such as cold and lonely are
expressions that can be applied to reality and not just an abstract illustration. Empirical evidence is
adequately provided supporting the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purpose was to revive their feelings of isolation and loneliness. Comparatively, the other group
recalled an experience in which they had been socially acknowledged and included into a group.
Researchers hypothesized that priming social exclusion, as opposed to inclusion, would lead
participants to report lower room temperature in experiment 1 and thus prefer hot food and drink in
Experiment 2. The results of the experiments were in line with the experimental predictions that social
exclusion leads to physical coldness and that the lack of social acceptance leads people to seek hot
food and drinks. The following paragraphs will analyze Zhong s research, evaluating strengths,
limitations, and possible improvements for Experiment 1 and 2.
Going through the methodology, the participants were students at the University of Toronto and were
asked to recall a social exclusion event. It is a between participants design, making it interesting to
analyze individual differences in recall and how cold they felt afterwards. However, this doesn t
equate for external validity, as it is very unclear by what event the participants referred to as social
exclusion. The researchers refer to previous studies carried out by Bargh, Chen, Burrows (1996) in the
introduction about the physical signs of social influence. This experiment however, is carried out in
Toronto; the

Ultrasound Accelerated Syntheis of Novel Benzimidazole...
Objective: Present research work is carried out for rapid development of some biological active new
heterocyclic moieties. Method: A novel series of 3 substituted 1 [1 (toluene 4 sulfonyl) 1H
benzoimidazol 2 yl] propen 1 one (3a 3j) were synthesized by tosylation of benzimidazole chalcones
(2a 2j) using ultrasound in lesser time with higher yields. All the synthesized compounds were
characterized by Elemental analysis, IR spectra, 1H, 13C NMR and Mass spectroscopy. The newly
synthesized compounds were screened for their α glucosidases and antibacterial activity. Result:
Biological evaluation of the compounds (3a 3j) revealed that most of them are good α glucosidases
inhibitors and possess significant antimicrobial activity compared to their respective standards.
Discussion: Amongst (3a 3j), compound 3h showed moderate inhibition of glucoamylase and
compound 3j with compelling inhibition of α amylase. Compound 3g and 3e displayed excellent
antibacterial activity against all tested strains and admirable antifungal activity against Candida
albicans respectively. INTRODUCTION Glycosidases play an essential role in numerous biological
recognition processes and their function or dysfunction has been implicated in a number of different
disease states, leading to an interest in the screening of different glycosidases inhibitors (Naoki et al.,
2000; Terry et al., 2003). α Glucosidases (EC 3.2.1.20) constitute a group of exo acting glycoside
hydrolases of diverse specificity that

Social Media And Instant Messenger
Sitting on the train, I was aimlessly staring out of the window with my headphones in blasting my
music at full volume. I was heading into the City for the first time and as if that wasn t scary enough
on its own; I was going to meet my brother. The same brother I didn t know existed until nine months
ago. It had started when I received a letter in the post, which in itself was a surprise. It had taken a
couple of weeks to get over the shock and come to terms with the fact I had a brother. Over the
following months we had spoken to each other through various forms of social media and instant
messenger, getting to know each other more. So far I had learnt that his name was Michael Fuentes
but that he preferred to go by Mike and that he was two years younger than me at twenty eight. He
fitted the gangster stereotype perfectly, but the more I got to know him the more I disagreed with the
label. He had long hair, like me, but he had shaved the sides so it was technically a Mohawk. I was
also really surprised by his voice as it was a lot softer than I had imagined based on his appearance
and the small amount of information I had prior to speaking to him. I also knew that he had both arms
covered in tattoos as was his neck from the pictures I had seen online although he had told me that he
had more over his torso and legs. I could feel my heart rate speeding up as the train was slowing
down, knowing I was just minutes away from facing my only living blood relative. The train

Arcelormittal Executive Summary
ArcelorMittal is a steel and mining company with a global presence in more than 60 countries. It is a
leader in major global carbon steel markets such as automotive, construction, and household
appliances to name a few. It is the combination of Arcelor and Mittal Steel, the latter being the origin
of the present company.
Mr. Lakshmi N. Mittal, Chairman and CEO of ArcelorMittal, started in the steel industry by building
his first steel plant in Indonesia in 1976. This would form the beginning of Ispat International, while
also establishing its parent holding company, LNM Group. In the 1980 s, still a minor player in the
steel industry, Mittal looked to a new potential raw material source, DRI (Direct reduced Iron). This

ending 2010 were 130,904 compared to 127,697 in 2009.
As of December 31, 2010 Total current liabilities were 30,723 compared to 23,491 in 2009. Part of
ArcelorMittal s current liability stems from a 3.2 billion term loan repayment due in 2011 from its
credit facility. It has begun to make a goal of reducing debt by delaying near term payments on debt
through refinancing and by modifying the terms of its repayment contracts. Accounts payable is the
largest current liability at 13,256 for the year ending 2010 compared to 10,676 in 2009. The increase is
due to increase in transactions with related parties that include associates and joint ventures with the
company. Its second largest current liability is accrued expenses which were 6,900 for the year ending
2010 compared to 6,922 in 2009.
As of December 31, 2010 Total liabilities were 64,804 compared to 62,260 in 2009. Bond issuances
increased total debt and net total debt increased due to increased working capital from higher levels of
steel production.
Revenues for the year ending 2010 were 78,025 compared to 61,021 in 2009. Sales in 2010
represented an increase of 28% over 2009. This was due to a rise in steel shipments as well as a
smaller rise in steel prices. Although 2010 did see an improvement in sales, it still

The Ancient Greek Chorus Influence On Modern Theatre
Referred to as the mouthpiece of society and morality , (E. Karayannakos, The Actors and The
Chorus, 2007), the Ancient Greek chorus used a range of vocal techniques and elements, which have
influenced and shaped western theatre as it is today (M. Mendenhall, Greek Theatre Influences on
Modern Theatre, 2012). From 7th Century BC to 4th Century BC, Greek choruses are particularly
renowned for their approach in engaging the audience with the context of a play. (B. Simpson,
Development of Greek Theatre, 2007), Specifically, vocal techniques played a main role in this
engagement (A. Thompson, The Ancient Greek Chorus and Elements of Choral Speaking, 2012) and
are why this investigation is focused upon them. Primary data was collected through an ... Show more

Antigone believes that humanity or natural laws have priority over Creon s laws and disobeys his
instructions accordingly. Her pride ensures that she will die rather than renounce her beliefs, thereby
bringing further tragedy to other characters (J. Jennings, Summary of Antigone, 2011). Antigone is a
tragic play about defiance, law, death and love (B. Honig, Antigone Interrupted, 2013, pg. 6). These
elements make Antigone one of the most tragic plays in Ancient Greek Theatre as multiple deaths of
main characters occur within the traditional texts. In order to convey these elements the chorus had a
vital role in the process of the play. In Antigone , the chorus at times would directly affect the action
on. The chorus would interact with the actors on stage physically, and through text which aloud a
personal link and connection with the audience on stage (R. Shoutez, The Function of The Chorus,
2010). Artistic Director, Howard Jenson from The Indiana University states: In Classical Greek plays,
the chorus IS the main character. (H. Jenson, Artistic Director, Indiana University Directing Greek
Theatre, 2011) which supports the statement of the importance of the chorus within Ancient Greek

The Myth Of The Robber Barons Summary
In a book published in 1991 by Burt Folsom, The Myth of the Robber Barons is essentially a book
about two theories competing against one another, which is the political versus the market
entrepreneurs. The book adamantly persuades the reader into believing market entrepreneurship has
provided Americans with greater results versus political entrepreneurs featuring from real life
scenarios to back up Mr. Folsom claims. He pointed out several market entrepreneurs in his book such
as J.D. Rockefeller, Cornelius Vanderbilt, James Hill and Charles Schwab as ones who helped
changed the economic climate for Americans by providing superior and lower cost products and/or
services than its competitors. Mr. Folsom continued to shine light on several political ... Show more

Mr. Folsom wrote The Myth of the Robber Baron because he believed sides of how America became a
world power was left out due to some entrepreneurs who help paved the way for businesses today.
With that belief, there is an abundance of knowledge to be learned starting from the first chapter of
Vanderbilt versus Collins/Fulton paving the way for the future of business dealings. Knowledge to be
gained was presented by Victor Niederhoffer where he states the reasons to read The Myth of the
Robber Barons as making the reader understand the sources of wealth and progress in society, hinting
on how to run a business successful and showing the key to success in business was lowering costs,
attention to detail, improved technology and sound financial structure (Niederhoffer). Furthermore,
today s business government relationship is ever important because the government has continue to
dabble in the expansion of business industries by covering costs and imposing taxes without
developing opportunities for businesses to create themselves and provide the goods and services that
is needed to keep The United States as a world power. Now more than ever, good and services are
being provided by countries not named The United States and government is allowing those standards
to continue because its cheaper for businesses outside America to develop goods and services for
Americans. Ultimately, The Myth of the Robber Barons is influential to today s businesses because it
reveals the implications of political involvement through government and not where it needs to be,
which is in the hands of the

One of the potential drawbacks of heat index method is that, its producing much more underestimated

A consultation of experts and researchers was organized by FAO in 1990, experts recommended the
adoption of the Penman Monteith combination method as a new standard for reference
Evapotranspiration and advised on procedures for calculation of the various parameters. In order to
estimate Potential Evapotranspiration (PET), the standard Penman Monteith method which is
recommended by FAO was applied.

The river discharge method or water balance approach is generally used for estimating AET of large
area like Gilo Alwero sub basin. Most of the empirical equations for the estimation of actual
Evapotranspiration need to use many data, especially meteorological data.
Generally, meteorological stations are placed only at the urban areas and their follow up is uncertain.
In some cases, we need to estimate Evapotranspiration for planning in the large scale; it is rather
difficult to classify land use for individual calculation in each land use. Therefore water balance is
more suitable to understand the flux in a whole sub basin. The inflow and outflows are determined
from stream flow and precipitation measurements and the difference between inflow and outflow over
a relatively long period of time is used to estimate evaporation using the

Central Line Infection Report
For over a decade, healthcare associated infections (HAIs) have been at the forefront for improvement
in hospitals across the nation, with central line associated blood stream infections (CLABSI) being a
frontrunner of HAIs investigated as a major area for improvement. A central line can be either a
central venous catheter (CVC) or a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) and has many uses in
intensive care units, inpatient units, and home health care including administration of antibiotics, TPN,
and chemotherapy treatment. Remarkable improvements over the past decade have been made in
order to shrink the rate of CLABSIs with measures and ongoing research to continue to diminish the
number of central line infections seen in hospitals. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the original aim of CLABSI prevention aimed primarily at intensive care units, this new
approach sets its sights on decreasing rates in hospital patients in general acute care settings where a
reported 23,000 CLABSIs occurred in 2009. These statistics guided Teleflex Inc. to create a new FDA
approved PICC in 2011 with both antimicrobial along with antithrombogenic effects. A California
hospital that consistently utilizes evidence based research conducted in house research in 2014 to test
the effectiveness of the new PICC and determine if it would truly decrease infecftion rates. This
testing was done using an intervention group, whom had the antimicrobial PICC inserted, and a
nonintervention group, whom had the standard PICC inserted. Both groups were predominantly equal
in terms of gender, race, age, and medical status and both received equal treatment using the central
line intervention bundle, including scheduled dressing changes every seven days or as needed, access
devices changed every Monday and Thursday, the use of an alcohol impregnated cap on all ports, and
the utilization of a line team. Results were impressive with the intervention group, having a total of
260 patients with a combined 2,124 line days, encountered 1 CLABSIs which equated to an infection
rate of 0.47/1000 line days. The nonintervention group on the other

Social Ramifications Of Obesity In America
In this research paper we will be looking at the topic of obesity and the social ramifications that it
holds. We will first look at obesity in a broad way. Then we will focus on obesity and its effects on
children. And finally, obesity and adulthood will be covered. The topic of obesity is important to the
field of sociology because obese people make up a significant portion of the world s population. In
addition, the manner in which obese people are treated has a significant effect on society as a whole.
Before going into too much detail, it is first necessary that we have a good understanding of what
exactly obesity is and its prominence in society. Obesity is understood to be a complex disease
requiring multi faceted treatment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An estimated 97 million adults in the United States are overweight or obese (Klein 2000). Affecting
one in five Americans or more than 22 percent of the U.S. population obesity is one of the most
pervasive health problems in our nation right now, said George L. Blackburn, M.D., Ph.D., associate
professor of surgery and associate director of the Division of Nutrition at Harvard Medical
School/Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts. We need to implement steps to slow
the progression of this national epidemic (NAASO 1999). But the problem of obesity does not only
affect the United States. We now know that the growing prevalence of obesity is creating major health
problems worldwide, said Dr. James O. Hill, president of the North American Association for the
Study of Obesity (NAASO) and Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine at the University of Colorado
Health Sciences Center. Obesity was once regarded as unique to Americans, but it is now seen as a
global health risk affecting developing and underdeveloped countries (AOA 2000). Obesity is
increasing at an epidemic rate in the United States 1.3% a year for women over 20. Rates of obesity
among minority populations, including African Americans and Hispanic Americans are especially
high (AOA 2000). There is also a marked increase in obesity among children. The early years of a

Grover Cleveland Persuasive Essay
Grover Cleveland Grover Cleveland is the President that I chose for my final project. Grover
Cleveland was known for being an honest and trustworthy politician. However, he is probably best
known for being the only United States President who was elected to two, non consecutive terms in
office (Krull, 45). Grover Cleveland is both the 22nd and 24th President. He was also the first
President elected from the Democratic Party after the US Civil War. Additionally, Grover Cleveland
was the first President to be married while in office (Krull). Grover Cleveland was born on March 18,
1837 in Caldwell, New Jersey. His birth name was Stephen Grover Cleveland. In his later years he
dropped Stephen from his name, most likely because and his friends called him big Steve. They called
him this because he was somewhat overweight and weighed in excess of 250 pounds. Consequently,
he was also called Uncle Jumbo, which was a reference to a famous circus elephant of that era. His
father, Richard Falley Cleveland, was a Presbyterian minister who died when Grover Cleveland was
only sixteen years old. As a result of his father s death, Cleveland was forced to quit school and take a
job in a general store (Morris, 87). When he turned eighteen, Cleveland moved to Buffalo, New York,
where he started to study law in a law office (Morris). Even though Cleveland did not ... Show more

  • 2. The Musical, My Fair Lady Directed By George Cukor Critical Review This critical review is about the musical, My Fair Lady, directed by George Cukor based on the play Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw. This musical altered some of the scenes and added new ones. The basic storyline of the text is about a young flower girl that runs into a phonetics teacher who claims that he could sell her as a duchess. The flower girl, which is later known to be Eliza, takes up the offer and starts speech lessons with the teacher, Mr. Higgins. He coachers her night and day to prepare her for a race and an embassy ball where she will meet royalty. Mr. Higgins is also acquainted in the beginning with one of his respected colleagues who also specialize in phonetics, Colonel Pickering. Although, Higgins treats her as baggage he soon gets attached to her and her ways. Colonel Pickering however, treats her as a respectable lady. She has a great success at the ball but is not recognized for it, which disappoints her. She decides to run away to Mrs. Higgins house where she found by Higgins and Pickering. She organizes her thoughts with Higgins and says she will never come back to them but at the end of the movie, not the play, she comes back to Higgins and Pickering. The main play and musical is based off of a similar storyline which goes something like this: There is a young flower girl who has a cockney accent which prevents her from getting a nice high paying job. Her dream is to work in a flower shop as an assistant. She runs into a phonetics ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. KAMSC Stairs Essay The KAMSC Stairs The lessons we take from failure can be fundamental to later success. Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience? As I reach the top of the stairs, I am panting and out of breath. No matter how many times I have complete the climb to the top, it has never become any easier, but as I arrive at the doors I relish the heavy breathing as evidence that I have made it. Not to the top of the stairs, but to KAMSC, the Kalamazoo Area Math and Science Center, a place that two years ago, had appeared unattainable. Two and a half years ago I was completing that very same climb, not as a student ready to seize the day, but as a potential applicant eager to learn what this mysterious school had to offer. Was this really all I was hoping for? Were the students similar to me? As hungry to learn as I was? I soon learned that I was not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First came the test. Then the application form, the essays, and finally teacher recommendations. When I had completed the process, I proud of the effort I had put into this application, and I was confident that it had what it took to secure me a place within the KAMSC class of 2018. I sent the forms off, feeling pleased, but the application soon faded to the back of my mind as I returned my focus to school. Several months passed before the rumors began to swirl. The acceptance letters were sent this week, I heard as I walked through the hallways. The excitement I had felt while sending the letter off, quickly returned. In only a few short days I would know my fate. When the day finally arrived, I found the signature teal stamped letter from KAMSC in my mailbox, but as I picked it up I realized that something was wrong. The letter was to thin. I tore it open, hoping that what I was perceiving was only the result of my nerves, but when I looked down all I could see were two words, wait ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Alphabet Murders Case Study Unsolved Case of the Alphabet Murders During the 1970 s, a chilling series of events had the people of New York on edge. The citizens around Rochester were particularly anxious. Three victims in the surrounding areas had been discovered, each with double initials. The unsolved case of the Alphabet Murders leaves the people of New York inquisitive and horrified to this day. 10 year old Carmen Colon was the first to disappear on November 16, 1971. She was said to have walked alone to the pharmacy earlier that day, to pick up a prescription for her stepsister. She had to wait at least an hour before the medicine was ready, so she left the pharmacy to run other errands. However, she never returned to pick up the prescription, nor came back home. • 5. Scottsboro Trial Research Paper Today, in the United States, people are not punished for the color of their skin, back in the 1930s, a person s race was taken into consideration when in court. There are many instances of racism in both trials, which impacted the outcome. The Scottsboro Trial consisted of two white girls and a group of black youths. 21 year old Victoria Price and 17 year old Ruby Bates were on a train ride back to their hometown, Huntsville, with a group of seven white boys. A group of 12 15 black youths were said to have joined the train and, later, a white boy, stepped on Haywood Patterson, a black male s hand, and a brawl erupted which caused the white boys to be driven out. After this, the white girls claimed that they were raped, each by six black males. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One reason why their testimonies were doubted was because of their sketchy backgrounds. Because of their backgrounds, they were not respected by their community and, therefore, they were not trusted. Before the Scottsboro trials, both Victoria and Ruby worked at the Margaret Mill and they grew up lacking a father figure, something that brought shame to their families. Also, Victoria was said to be a prostitute and Ruby lived among Negroes (Ransdall). In To Kill a Mockingbird, Scout is deceived by Mayella s appearance, but then sees the true Mayella, ... she seemed somehow fragile looking, but when she sat facing us in the witness chair she became what she was, a thick bodied girl accustomed to strenuous labor (Lee 239). All three of the girls skin color also affected the outcome of the trials, they were all privileged white ladies, for that reason, the jury belived whatever they said. One of the black youths accused of rape, disclosed his thoughts saying, I knew if a white woman accused a black man of rape, he was as good as dead (Linder, Famous Trials ). This man knew he had little hope of winning the trial, like Atticus in To Kill a Mockingbird. Attics knew that Mayella had the upper hand in this case because of her skin color, about this he says, She is the victim of cruel poverty and ignorance, but I cannot pity her: she is white. ... • 7. Vikings Influence On American History Humanity has had a long and rich history, where much of history is written from only a few perspectives throughout the ages. Whichever perspectives were most clearly and widely distributed are the perspectives contained in the majority of the history books, no matter how limited or biased. Most of these perspectives are born from European backgrounds, where the dominant European backgrounds are the result of victories in war and expansion of not only territories but also beliefs. The country that was dominant in battle, in most cases, was the dominant perspective in that time, and that was the dominant stance that was written into History. On the other hand, the cultures that were not victorious in their endeavors are usually misrepresented ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many nations at the time, assumed that there was nothing worthwhile out to the West and that by sending ships and explorers out West, they would never return. The Vikings never had such thoughts, rather they firmly believed that fate was predetermined at the moment of birth, and all that life really is, is just playing out those acts of fate; therefore, if fate was to say that it was the time for death to occur, then there is no point in being scared to die; so why not go out and be bold? (Walsh). They had a mindset that was focused on success, and without the fear of death to deter them, they were not only ruthless in their conquests but also courageous in their voyages across the Atlantic. This mindset, combined with the marvel that is the Viking Longboat, was the core strength used by the Vikings as they slowly went across the Atlantic Ocean and settled the land, starting with the Faeroe Islands, northwest of Scotland in about 860 AD, then, about a decade later, the Norse reached Iceland (Lemonick and Dorfman 2). This initial wave of movement westward sparked a larger movement over time of larger Norse populations towards Iceland, where at one point, there were as many as 12,000 Viking immigrants ultimately settled there, taking their farm animals with them (Lemonick and Dorfman 2). This mass migration and settlement outside of the native Scandinavian territory mimics the conquest and expansion of other great Empires, the only difference in the Vikings situation is that they did it by sea and all other nations did it by land; that, and the fact that the more westward they moved, the less they had to deal with other nations and more with the fury of the ... • 8. Affirmative Action Thesis Topic: The Importance of Affirmative Action in the College Admissions Process Thesis: In order to resolve underrepresentation of African Americans in higher education, affirmative action is needed to promote diversity, improve students critical thinking skills, and increase race consciousness by utilizing race as a factor in college admissions. University of California Regents v. Bakke, 438 U.S. 265, 98 S. Ct. 2733, 57 L. Ed. 2d 750 (1978). The Reagents of the University of California v. However, the US Supreme Court decided that the use of racial quotas, such as the medical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... William Bowen and Dr. Derek Bok composed one of the most comprehensive studies of different affirmative action programs among universities in the United States. One of the most crucial findings from their study was that the commonly held mismatch theory is false. The mismatch theory arose from critics of affirmative action who feared that letting African American students into selective universities that had lower test scores would result in a lower performance than the average student. However, the authors discovered that black students who attended competitive colleges performed better than their academically equivalent peers who attended a less rigorous school. This is critical because if affirmative action was not in place, then the African American students would most likely attend the less selective schools as their academic equivalent peers and would end up having a less successful outcome. In addition, the study illustrated that African American students who benefitted from Affirmative Action programs in college ended up having a greater chance at post graduate ... The Nanny Dilemm Chapter Analysis The second chapter, The Nanny Dilemma, gives us an understanding that Dominique just like many New York nannies leave their hometowns, families and everything behind to work. I can agree with what Cheever mentioned Here the children are the boss, the children run the home . It s the truth, because in United States were have lots of working parents who have to leave their children at day cares or after school programs. An approximate earning for a full time nanny is less than 600 dollars a week. Personally, being a nannie is a huge responsibility and sometimes extra work comes without extra pay. • 10. Summary Of The Hitchhiking Game In the story of The Hitchhiking Game , we learn that a couple of a man and woman go on vacation together. They decided to play game with each other known as the hitchhiking game. To be completely fair, the game itself can be fun or dangerous depending how far you take the game. Within the story, man and woman are competing against each other to see whose will is stronger than the other. We see power encounters throughout the whole story and leave us to wonder who the winner of the game is either the man or the woman. From what we gather in the beginning of the story, the man loves the woman because of her innocence. The man enjoyed her moments of shyness because it was a precious thing to him but this slowly changes when they start playing the game. As we see their time at dinner, the man notices the more the girl withdrew from him psychically, the more he longed for her physically. The man s point of view of the woman changes from emotional to just physical. It is like the man went back to his caveman or animalistic instincts in the way he desires the woman. The man shows that he is the hunter and the woman is his prey, and the pursuit is very excitable. There are some men that love the pursuit and after they claimed their prize, it does not excite them like it once had because it does not have the same thrill. He basically wants to dominate the woman and show her that he is in control, and has power over her. All males have experienced this feeling over someone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Stereotypes In The Nfl There are many jobs to have in the National Football League (NFL), but who are the people that own those job titles? When people think of the NFL the general perception of the league is men that hit other men really hard. If one is to really look into depth of the NFL one could see the dramatic differences between a team owner, the starting quarterback, to the ticket sales manager, and even the athletic trainers. An inequality occurring in the NFL today is that these positions are not diverse and have somehow created stereotypes and expectations for the people that should occupy them. These images between people that should work in these specific positions varies from race, socioeconomic classes and gender. This is having major ramifications ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Essentially people from higher socioeconomic status backgrounds are not only more opportune, but one could say they are also considered more qualified for the higher influential jobs. People of higher socioeconomic backgrounds not only have better chances at these jobs but have better preparation opportunities for these jobs. Going to college for a higher education and being able to travel for work or being properly prepared for an interview are all factors that affect the opportunity at even being considered a candidate for the job. An example of this is how many league ownerships are kept in the family and passed down from generation to generation. It also makes it harder, for people of lower socioeconomic backgrounds to make a run for the higher up administration jobs, because they weren t born on third base meaning they have a lot more to overcome such as, networking and making influential relationship with people that have influence to get someone a job of that caliber. The idea of meritocracy is engraved into Americans visons of the future, but sadly these are false hopes. This is because of the idea of people already having security for jobs that will support their future. But this isn t only with front office jobs, but player and player personnel as well. Legal Rule Of Downstream Confusion So far, the Sixth Circuit has only applied downstream, or post sale, confusion, to cases involving knockoff products, but the legal rule of downstream confusion should also apply to non knockoff products. The Lanham Act s text and the legislator s intent while modifying the Act suggests that downstream confusion applies to products other than knockoff products. 15 U.S.C. §1127 (2012). Also, the Sixth Circuit has substituted point of sale confusion with post sale confusion before, and should again in our case. The courts in Lois Sportswear and Payless both are examples of cases where non knockoff products created downstream confusion. Lois Sportswear, U.S.A., Inc. v. • 16. Descriptive Essay On The Beast A HUNTER After several hours of following the trace of the beast without sleeping or even resting, Anatoly was starting to feel exhaustion getting to his bones. The night before, right after lying down to sleep, he heard it walking around but he didnÂŽt manage to see it. He felt his breath warming his surroundings as it tried to remain silent. It moved slowly expecting his guest to continue asleep; it did everything it could to observe without being observed but it failed. Anatoly packed up immediately and began the search. He had arrived in the country three months ago from the millennial land of the Tsars. He was marveled by the green gigantic mountains as he moved patiently towards his destination. He saw the people covered in dark long clothes with no collars or sleeves, but a single hole for their heads to pass through. He stared at the old houses made of mud and manure where more insects lived than people. Dogs wandered these lands trying to protect their owners from invisible enemies that dared to jump over the stone fences and cross their fields. Trees created a mattress of dramatic silence where spirits whispered their lost desires. He saw this and so much more and felt fascinated by the lost world that science had destroyed in his old continent. When he got off the bus in the first town, he asked around about the creature that had been seen six months ago by an expeditionary German group. Gardner s parents fled Germany to escape World War II, and came to the United States of America. His parents will survive had an impact on Gardner from young age, but the biggest effect of his parent s predicament led him to what would be his interest in psychology. Gardner was going to be sent to Phillips Academy, however, he refused to go and attended a preparatory school in Kingston, Pennsylvania. After Kingston he went to study at Harvard University for a career in law. While at Harvard University he blossomed under his mentor Erik Erikson which led to his interest in psychology. His interest in psychology led him to develop his theory on Multiple Intelligences. This theory has led to him winning awards such as MacArthur Prize Fellowship, William James Award, American Psychological Association, and Prince of Asturias Award in Social Sciences. Howard Gardner s theory on Multiple Intelligences explains that there is no single intelligence, but there are many intelligences which can improve the quality of education efforts(pg1). Multiple Intelligences are different forms of intelligences which aid our problem solving skills. These intelligences also describe a person s personality so his or her strengths can be used to help teach the individual. Multiple Intelligences can also help him or her retain information. When the El Paso City council assigned a large scale project of the Spanish conquistador: Juan de Onate, Houser grasped the project and wanted to create the largest bronze statue in the world. He envisioned the statue as a long overdue contribution mission to embrace and represent the contributions of the Hispanic culture and history to the United States. I honestly believe that if each official in the El Paso City Council was to make a decision based on these methods, they would go against the Houser project for sure. The arguments made by the groups testifying were based on the objective whether or not the project should be completed. The side that testified that the completion of the sculpture shouldn t be accomplished had a claim that correlated to who Onate was. From the claims made, they made a point that Onate was a man who slaughtered, killed, raped people to steal their land. He treated them with disrespect and building a sculpture of him and putting it in the middle of El Paso, would bring shame to the city because he was a murder, not someone who anyone should look up to. Art has a powerful meaning attached to it, and the sculpture to the Native Americans represented racism and reminded them of the terror their ancestors went through which was overall a traumatic experience. • 20. Differences Between The Federal And Federal Court System Two Separate Justice Systems The U.S. Constitution created a strong government structure for the United States known as federalism. Both the federal and state governments must have their own court systems to apply and interpret their own specific laws. Both federal and state constitutions attempt to do this by specifically spelling out the jurisdiction of their own court systems. For example, U.S Constitution gives Congress the power to make uniform laws concerning bankruptcies, a state court would lack jurisdiction in this matter. Since the Constitution does not give the federal government authority in most matters concerning the regulation of the family, a federal court would lack jurisdiction in a divorce case. This is the main reason why there are two separate court systems in America. The federal court system deals with issues of law relating to those powers implicitly granted to them by the U.S. Constitution. The state court systems deal with issues of laws relating to those matters that the U.S. Constitution did not give to the federal government or deny to the states. Every human as a desire to feel a sense of belonging, but that problem is not a simple as just sitting next to someone and saying these two people should feel connected. The heart of this issue is often psychologist greatest challenge in cure a person metal state. This paper will first look at what is self and social identity from a psychologist issue, than how the power of the gospel as the ability to change that. Henri Tajfel believed that the groups we belong to give us a sense of social identity. Those groups helped us feel a connection in the world which in turns lead to a feeling of self worth (Tajifel, 1979). The groups we choose not only shaped our image of our self but also had the ability to affect the way we act in the communities we lived in. So in essence with that definition one could say that our character to the world is perceived through the self image we portray. The second experiment is based on the hypothesis of the first, given that coldness leads to the liking for warm or cold food.
