Save Ended Up After Your Life
Have you ever had something happen in your life where you saw signs of it coming, but did
anything you could to help fix things? Then in the end it ended up what you were trying to fix was
not something that could be done on your behalf? No matter how hard you tried, you could not seem
to hold that which you were working so hard to hold on to, what you were trying to save ended up
dissolving quickly right before your eyes. After what you had fought for with every ounce of
strength you had, every hope you had, and every fiber of your being desiring to not give up seems to
have just shattered right before your eyes, it is near impossible to bounce back quickly from that.
For me, I have recently found just how accurate the following saying is.... "You never know what
you have until you do not have it anymore." When you lose something or someone you have tried to
fight for through thick or thin, it is almost as though you want to give up completely and not have
hope things may end up being rebuilt down the road. At least for me, I worked so hard and gave my
all in order to help save something very dear to me and in the end it felt as though it were not worth
it. What I realized though is that what I had fought for so long ended up being something I could not
keep. As much as it hurts and pains me to not have what I fought for, so much so that I want to curl
up in a ball and hide from the world at times, I also know that the hurt is in a great deal related to the
fact that who I

Reflective Speech
Libby Streeton– Irrational thinking is common in a nuclear war, right? Why did I expect Fin and
Max would change their minds? I begged them through a river of tears to stay with me. But that was
not enough. I can't adjust to reality, watching their lanky bodies fade in the distance keeps reminding
me of the fate of their lives. Max is only 12, too young to witness violent and unforgiving deaths of
innocent citizens. What happens if I never see them again? I assumed I was doing right but
apparently, what I think is right is wrong. I am only just beginning to realise what has just happened.
They are gone. My two young boys are gone forever. I have hugged them for the final time. They
risked their lives to find me. But I couldn't do the same. I'm stuck in a half broken down office
building in the middle of a deserted city and I can't leave because too many people rely on me to
stay here and help. Inhale. Exhale. I keep thinking about what my life is like now, and right now I
feel it is hopeless. I am isolated, sitting in a patrolled corner of an office, trying to deal with this
absolute shit of a situation. I'm a failure of a mother to let my children out of my sight and endanger
themselves by going out onto the deserted streets to find a group of people that may or may not even
exist. I had the chance to keep them here, but I lost it just as easily. Today is not the day to judge
Greg on his decisions as a parent, but what sort of a father deserts his sons and runs after a girl he's
just met? Bad parenting if you ask me... I wish I knew sooner that he just walked out on them, I'm
not one to judge and I'm certainly not the ideal mother but that was immature. If only Greg and I
were on better terms, I mean both of us being the adults were childish to let down the boys, I'm
disappointed in the both of us. I know in my heart, I couldn't stay with a man I no longer loved,
neither could I cheat on him. Leaving him suited me but broke max and fin. But I didn't care, did I?
I mean as long as they have money life is complete. Why Libby, why? I could have and should have
made an effort to visit. I'm a hypocritical person, to blame all the reasons why the boys are now
abounded in a shopping centre on Greg and his childish

Chocolate Chip Cookies: A Short Story
I am a sugar molecule and I am found in a Pillsbury Chocolate Chip Cookies. I've carried on with a
short life and today is the day I wander out into the obscure, within the human body and I'm super
anxious! As the child in front of me pics me up from the baking sheet, I feel the fervor and dread
inside me as I'm being lifted to her mouth, getting ready for digestion, and expeditiously being
chewed by her teeth. I begin to feel the tremendous measure of torment experiencing my body as I
feel the salivation separating me into little particles. I figure this is the "chemical digestion" I caught
wind of! The kid swallows me and I deteriorate down into the epiglottis and pharynx and straight to
her throat. Uh–oh, the central nervous system freed

When I think of the summer I was sixteen, a lot of things some crowding in to be thought about. We
had moved just the year before, and sixteen is still young enough that the bunch makes a difference.
I had a bunch, all right, but they weren't sure of me yet. I didn't know why. Maybe because I'd lived
in town, and my father still worked there instead of farming, like the other fathers did. The boys I
knew, even Freddy Gray and J.D., still kept a small ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Men came from miles around to look at it. Mr. Wills wouldn't let them go into the melon patch.
They had to stand around the edge.
Just like all other daredevil boys in that country, I guess, Freddy Gray and
J.D. and I had talked idly about stealing that giant watermelon. But we all knew that it was just talk.
Not only were we afraid of Mr. Wills and his rages but we knew that Mr. Wills sat in the hayloft
window of his barn every night with his shotgun, guarding the melon. It was his seed melon. He
meant to plant next year's crop out of that great one and maybe raise a whole field of them. Mr.
Wills was in a frenzy of fear that somebody would steal it. Why, he would rather you stole
Willadean than his melon. At least, he didn't guard Willadean with his shotgun.
Every night I could sit on our front porch and see Mr. Wills sitting up there in the window of his
hayloft, looking fiercely out over his melon patch. I'd sit there by the hour and watch him, the
shotgun cradled in his arm, and feel the tremors of fear and excitement chasing up and down my
spine. "Look at him," my father would say. "Scared to death somebody will steal his seed melon.
Wouldn't anybody steal a man's seed melon."
"He ought to be in the house taking care of that wife of his," my mother would say tartly. "She's
been poorly all year."
You hardly ever saw Mrs. Wills. She was a wraith of a

Purpose Of A Cultural Artifact
The purpose of the cultural artifact is to demonstrate good communication skills and work on ways
to perfect it. After my speech is a way for me to reflect upon my progress of public communication
by getting feedback from my audience or classmates on area that I may need to improve up on.
However being that this is my seconded speech, there were some strong points as well as weak
points about my speech that I need to work on to improving my speech. As an overview of my
speech, I didn't put enough effort on my speech that I would liked to have done. After finishing my
outline I only look at my paper a few times just going over what I would be saying for my speech.
The reason that I didn't spend too much time practicing with my speech was because I was very
busy where as my other classes are demanding when it comes to time manages meant. As a result
for not practicing, I have notice a huge difference on my second speech in comparison to my first.
Whereas my first speech I had spent the proper amount of time going over the material and
practicing my rehearsal with my girlfriend (Cassie). Conversely to my first speech I felt confident
on what I wanted to talk about, but one huge difference was that I didn't practice my rehearsal. As a
result of not putting the time to practice my speed I had verbal clutter and not being ... Show more

Not putting the time when it can to going over my outline and rehearsal made it difficult to
communicate towards my audience. Even though I my audience provided positive feedback I still
feel that it could have been better. I did have verbal clutter and I also didn't use hand jesters as a part
of my communication. In addition to my second speech, I felt that I got lost for a little bit even
though I manage to pull myself together. I feel now, this could have easily been fixed if I had the

President Trump Monologue
''No, no, please, I am begging you, let him go. Do you not have a heart ?!'' I sob in between every
word I scream. My life is ending. The world is ending, and there is nothing anyone can do. Today's
date is July 3, 2021. President Trump has started his second term as of today, today is also the day
he announces that the world is dying. '' I am truly sorry to publish this news to everyone.
Unfortunately scientist has proven that the earth is running out of air and pretty soon the deadly
toxic air will replace it all. Sounds like something out of a movie right ? But no it is true indeed, we
will locate a plan immediately, so please do not panic. Please stay inside and rarely come out. We
will be in touch.'' President Trump then signs off. The broadcast is everywhere for the next couple
days, on replay and replay. President Trumps serious tone is glued to my mind like paint on a wall.
''He can't be serious. Ari, get your head together. This has to be a national prank, there is no way the
Earth can run out of air! You earn all A's in science. It is impossible! '', I start speaking to myself. ...

now come on, wear long, thick clothing and put on your safety face mask, we have to go stock up on
food.'' '' oh no dad, has the toxic air poison you too?'', I teasingly gasp. '' C'mon both my parents
have gone totally crazy! There is no way in their dang mind that they can be falling for this prank.'', i
roll my eyes. We arrive at the front of walmart and we can see people running in and running out
with huge bags with food, all with face masks on. I spot one of best friend that i haven't seen since
the last day of school. I rush out the car and sprint to her. '' Omg can you believe this Gaby ?!
everyone is so gullible. Wasting their time to get food that we will never run out off. Ha very funny.

Reflection Of My Life With My Arms Extended
One Someone once told me what I see is darkness. They told me that is all I can see and possibly all
I will see. I have spent my life with my arms extended, always touching, always searching, always
feeling my surroundings, always trying to understand what I couldn't see. I have felt the presence of
my brothers and sisters, but they never seem to feel or see me. Their eyes are always to the sky, as if
expecting something to fall from the heavens. It matters not if they have sight. They are blind. There
was a time before this, but I can't recall anything but silence and darkness. It's as if the first half of
my life had been deleted. I remembered nothing, no sound, no scents, no familiar touches that might
have given something away about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many questions ran through my head, 'Where am I going?', 'Who is this?', 'Why have you taken
me?', 'Am I going to die?'. My stomach sank as the last question resonated inside me. Was I going to
die? I felt too young to die. What did I do to deserve death? A gruff voice alarmingly close to my ear
said, "Hey, shut up. You're not going to die yet. You'll see where we're going soon," before my mind
could wander any further. 'Are you–?' "Yes," he answered aloud. The earthy scent of the forest
slowly transitioned into that of the city and the voice told me we were in front of a large structure
built for government hostages. I was a hostage? What the hell was going to happen to me? The
strong hands led me into the building, which from the sound of things, seemed to be empty. Our
footsteps echoed in the deserted lobby and down a wide hallway, until the hands lead me carefully
down several flights of stairs where they were stifled by concrete. The air was musty and humid
down here. We took a few more steps until a metal door opened noisily. The hands pushed me into a
confining box– oh, that makes sense. It was a lift. The lift shifted, and I began to feel woozy as it
went down, down, down... It seemed to take ages until it finally stopped and the metal doors once
again opened noisily. I put my hands out instinctively until the man with the strong hands put them
back at my side and lead me down a narrow corridor. A door opened heavily, and from

The world was spinning, I've been hit, this was the end. Without a thought I pulled the trigger, I saw
three of him, but I knew that If I could end it I would. I wanted to be remembered a hero who saved
our race, died in the battlefield. As I fell back a smile crept into my face as I heard a loud grunt, I did
it , I killed him. I was ready to hit the hard concrete floor as our troops came out of hiding, but I fell
into something delicate.
Her face was blurry, tears were coming out of her eyes, Alexa. I could hear her screaming "Mark,
no, don't go, stay with me. You'll be saved." As I lay in my death bed, I recalled how we got here.
It had been almost a decade since they discovered our vast empire, it had been half a decade since
they tried to take it over. We wished to stay together in peace, and harmony, but being as greedy as
they were, they broke the treaty that ended the war ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By the looks of it, they have almost half of the number of our troop. And adding it with the ones that
are already here, it's about the same size as our army, sir" Alexa reported. "We just have to get into
their main base, and take out their king. Then boom, game over." I replied as I thought of battle
strategies. "We barge in. Their troop might be almost as large, but not the same, their technology is
far behind. If we have every one of our soldiers armed, and we barge in, we can beat them. We can
win." I said out loud, as I got on my feet. "But isn't that a risque? We could be walking into a trap, or
they could have developed better technologies. We could be risking the lives of every one of our
soldiers." She replied. I walked a step closer to her, she slowly took a step back "I'm here because I
take these risks, yes we could all die, but we could also win this. The more time we give them, the
better the opportunity they have of developing technologies better than ours." Then, I walked out of

Philosophy Statement
My Professional Philosophy Statement I believe the purposes of education is to teach the children to
do the best they can at everything they do. It 's important to let the children know when they make
mistakes to learn from them, and to let them know that they will be loved, even if they make
mistakes. Each and every child should experience a positive approach of teaching from mistakes
rather than negative. As children no matter the age they remember things; wouldn't it be better for
them to remember the positive approach of teaching them from the mistake then the negative. To
make the children feel safe, and secure in their environment and to let them know how important
they are. Children learn best in an environment that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most important thing is to use the appropriate curriculum which would include certain "basics"
that contribute to children's social, emotional, physical development. . Each and every child should
feel in your classroom that they are loved for who they are, and they shouldn't have to change the
way they are. It 's important to let the child know that there is nothing wrong with being different,
and that no matter what everyone should treat them the same. Another feature that is key is
organization, and structure they both go hand in hand, and is needed in every classroom. The
children need the structure, and organization so they can learn, and can use this throughout their life.
All children have certain needs that must be met if they are to grow and learn at their best. Some of
these basic needs are making sure their physical needs are met, safe environment, self–esteem, and
loving the children. Another way that has helped me figure out what the needs of the children are
communicating with the parents, and getting them involved so that we can both work on meeting the
needs of their children. I would meet these needs by showing them love through hugs, and
expressing the care I have for each child. Children of all ages love being shown affection and you
can do that by simply letting a child sit on your lap, or

Cora And Unca Rhetorical Analysis
Cora and Uncas have a joint burial after having died one after the other. This joint burial symbolizes
a compromise between the two cultures. It resolves their feelings for one another by bring them
together at last and having their families come together. The joint burial shows a compromise
between the Indian culture and the English culture. The burial shows that both Indian and white
traditions are combined for Cora and Uncas. The eulogies made about Cora and Uncas are in both
English and Delaware; along with , songs are sung by both David and the Delaware girls. These
show how the two cultures are coming together and making it equally about both. The joint burial

The Stress Of The Pain
The pain, the stress, as the sound rings my ears, in a repetitive, persistent manner, in Search of relief,
extending my arms with all the energy remaining, tempted to leave the noise in replace for a greater
annoyance "An hour until shift ends", i relieve the noise of its duty as the cold presses against my
cheek. "Hello this is Brian from Officeworks, How can I help you today". "You guys sold me a

great hesitation, the last few minutes are always the hardest, i snatched my backpack and paced out

Otouto: A Fictional Narrative
He paused in his walking, so very concerned with the sudden way Amaimon's voice drop. Even
more concern filled him and he spoke shakily "Otouto! Are you okay...are you safe?" He hated not

to late just because he didn't want to pick up his phone "I'll be there soon, I promise. I promise."
Mephisto was rather surprised by the sudden reaction his mate had, cringing a bit. He whined, he
hadn't let those surprised words slip out, it was painfully clear how upsetting they were to his

This pull was one he felt the first day he met Amaimon, and everyday after, a strong tug that pulled

Suicide : Suicide And Suicide
Suicide, it's looked at as a joke, the coward's way out, and even as a false attempt for attention. See
it as you want, but I saw it as a way to leave everything behind and to never have to look back. The
one choice I wouldn't live to regret. So in August of 2014, I made the attempt to flee from my
problems, past, and suffering. The plan was simple, overdose and never wake up. It wasn't that easy
for me though. When I was in the middle of my actions, my mother walked in. Her reaction was
exactly how anyone would assume it would be: she broke down, screaming, crying, and spreading
the news to everybody in the family. Shortly after, she called my sister over and they had an
intervention I wasn't supposed to hear, but I heard it all while lying in my bedroom covered up with
my pale gray cover, its color reminding me of my mood. How did they expect me to not hear their
bickering when they only noises in the house were my silent sobs, their stern voices, and the crickets
outside of my window?
When my mother had said I needed help, I assumed that I would attend therapy. Boy, was I wrong.
My mother had left the room and I heard her muffled voice in a rush, cracking just like my will to
hold on any longer. Everything felt like it was collapsing, mainly when after what I assumed was a
phone call, my mother cracked my door open, sighing. I didn't want to see her, let alone hear
whatever bullshit she had to say. "You need to pack your bags. A week's worth. I'm

My Halo Research Paper
The Background During the summer before my junior year in high school I broke my neck while on
vacation in Outer Banks, NC. I spent the next three months in a cervical halo and three more months
after that in a standard C–collar neck brace. My first month back at school was spent in the halo
which was interesting because not many people had ever seen one of these braces and did not know
the full extent of the hardware. It is a large plastic vest with sheep wool lining the inside; making
attending a school with predominantly outdoor hallways in the August heat a very sweaty endeavor.
From the vest shot four bars, two in front and two in back, that held a horseshoe shaped bar (the
halo) containing 4 screws. At the end of each screw was a fine point that anchored into my skull and
stabilized my head/neck. I could not take the halo off and had to bathe, sleep, eat and everything else
while wearing the device. Obviously wearing the halo limited my choices of fashion and I resorted
to wearing a tank top that I would slip on starting with my feet because it was the most breathable
option. It also looked weird if I wore any other shirt. The Incident Normally this would ... Show

Evaluation Of A Teacher Student Relationship
Linda Albert (2012) mentions for students to experience a strong sense of belonging in school, they
must satisfy Cooperative Discipline's "Three Cs". The Three Cs are Capable, Connect, and
Contribute. "Three factors affect students' ability to satisfy the Three Cs in the classroom: the quality
of the teacher–student relationship; the strength of the classroom climate for success; and the
appropriateness of the classroom structure" (Albert, 2012). The best way to satisfy the Three Cs
through the use of encouragement strategies. If we are positive and encouraging, "people do better
when they feel better, and that which people perceive affects the way they feel. For example, if you
receive a compliment, then a positive feeling emerges" (Marshall, 2005). The first C is helping
students feel Capable. When students feel good about themselves they have fulfilled the feeling of
capable. As teachers, Linda Albert mentioned different encouragement techniques to help students
reach their full potential. Linda made her techniques into five major strategies: make mistakes okay,
build confidence, focus on past successes, make learning tangible, and recognize achievement. I
make sure I implement her strategies into my classroom. For instance, I show students that I make
mistakes all the time and it is okay if they do to. Also I tell the students if they mistake in the lab,
that "it's okay, that's why I am here to help you". To build confidence, I make sure I focus on their
improvements

How To Understand Gymnastics
Express and Reflect
Everybody knows that feeling when you finally accomplish something that you have been working
on for a long time. This is a major part of Gymnastics. The sport is all about working up towards
your goal. It's all about practicing until you feel confident or when you finally reach where you
wanted to be. You have to just get over the fact that yes, you may fall or not get it on the first try but
if you never try it will go nowhere. Also if you do get a skill you have to keep practicing or you will
get out of practice and loose the feeling and sensation of that trick. So I guess that "practice makes
perfect" applies perfectly to this situation and it can tell you a lot.
Inform and Explain
Lots of people don't understand Gymnastics. Mostly people think just go to a gym set up some
different mats and get started. Really this is not even a bit of the elements of gymnastics, there is so
much more that lots of people don't even have a clue about. So the first thing I'll talk about is where
you have to go. So you start at the gym. In the gym there is way too much equipment to count,
there's mats, bars, beams, trampolines, tumble tracks, big floor spaces and to much more. The ...

A Short Story : A Story Of It's Life?
I looked out the window above the kitchen sink, watching the birds fly around the yard. They
swooped high and low into the cool water in the bird bath. Looming high above it all was the raven
who decided she didn't want to leave. The day I came home from the hospital was the day she
decided to move in. Watching her glide in the wind drifts caused a stirring in my soul. Every time I
looked at her dark black feathers I thought of that dream. It took a while, but eventually I was able
to remember it all. The inky lifeless feel of those things burned a hollow, incomplete feel in the back
of my mind. Ever since that day I've tried to forget, but it still manages to creep into my reality. The
front door opened and closed swiftly. I looked at the hall and watched Annie come into view. She
smiled and looked down at the fruit I've been cutting. "Did you do that?" "I tried to do that." I held
up my shaky hands for her to see. "It didn't end so well." "Well I'm glad you tried. Eventually it'll be
gone and you'll be able to do stuff again." She threw her purse on the counter and started to pick at
the butchered strawberries. I looked at her hands. Her slender fingers held steady as she plucked
slices off the cutting board. Every piece she picked up made it to her mouth instead of falling from
her fingers. I could barely cut the damn things, eating them would have been a whole different thing.
I rolled my shoulders back and felt the shifting of the spine they implanted. When I was

The Game at the Arena Essay
Standing here, in this arena that is one hundred times larger than my home, I feel like a needle in a
haystack. So many people surrounding me it's like I'm one grain of sand in a whole ocean. The
people around the arena form a black and yellow checker board. Their clothing meshes together and
looks like a throw. Smelling the concession stand makes me feel like a starving child. The aroma of
hotdogs and Italian sausage reminds me of a back yard grill. The smell of melted cheese on nachos
makes my stomach growl wishing I had some. I can taste the pretzels as a man and child walk by me
with one. The warm bread with coarse salt is delicious.
Then an announcer on a loud intercom yells for the players to come out. The roar of the crowd ...

I clap my hands with the other thousands of fans, and my hands feel greasy from the slice of pizza I
just finished eating. My mouth still has the tangy, saucy taste of pizza. I look down towards the field
where the players are lining up in their formations. Their brightly colored uniforms stand out in the
glare of the stadium lights. The field has a fresh mowed look, and the screens are bright as the North
Star. As the lady starts to sing the National Anthem, the crowd falls do a dead silent, placing their
hands on their chest and mouthing the words along with her. The mass of people standing in the
arena look as if they are mannequins strategically placed for a photo. The lady finishes singing and
the crowd resumes their jet like roaring. A man walks in front of me, as he walks by a get a whiff of

The Secrets Of Toxic Secrets
While essential secrets focus on creating boundaries and protecting others, toxic secrets tend to do
almost the complete opposite. Toxic secrets are usually kept from those that have a right to know or
should be informed of the secret. This, in turn, causes a lot of disruption and tension in certain
relationships. There are several different reasons why people choose to keep toxic secrets from their
family members, friends, coworkers, and others in the outside world. Most of the time people feel as
though the benefits of keeping their toxic secret hidden from another will outweigh the costs of not
doing so. The reason for this is that most toxic secrets include sensitive topics ranging from donor
assistance and adoption to homosexuality.
Before delving into the different topics that exist in the world of toxic secrets, it is important to
understand the process that others go through when keeping a toxic secret and deciding whether or
not they should share that secret. Imber–Black (2009) explains that there are two types of people
who keep toxic secrets. The first type includes those who are powerless and keep secrets from those
that are in power. They do so in order to gain safety and power against those who already possess
the power. The second type includes those that are in power and may use toxic secrets against those
who are less fortunate or less powerful. They keep secrets in order to coerce or continue to keep the
power they possess.
Along with the types of people

Innovation: Lassi flavoured Gummy Candy
Milk inspired flavoured jelly or gummy candies, such as 'Milk Bottles' and 'Ice Cream Cones' have
been in production for decades. With a unique combination of flavours, a Lassi flavoured gummy
candy would be another dairy inspired candy that may gain popularity in the market. Lassi is a
chilled dairy drink that has origins in India and Pakistan, but has since seen increasing popularity
not only within South–East Asia, but around the world. It is described to have a 'Mild acidic flavour
and sweetish taste', [1] where the sweet taste is generally attributed to added sugars and the acidic
flavour would be largely due to the production of acids during the fermentation of the milk. This

Is A Sanctuary Really A Secret Place? Essay
Is A Sanctuary Really a Secret Place? The world can be viewed as an intricate and complex place,
which contains different groups of people who have distinct views and behaviors. The pressure that
is exerted on these individuals due to contrasting views and behaviors leads an individual to either
dissociate or split. Martha Stout, the author of "When I Woke Up Tuesday Morning, It Was Friday"
discusses how her patients, Seth and Julia, were affected by trauma and dissociation. Dissociation
and splitting, whether conscious or unconscious, influences an individual to a large extent by
enabling them to detach from reality and change his or her worldview. Through her discussions and
interviews with Julia and Seth, Stout depicts how much dissociation can affect an individual, which
ultimately could result in the creation of a new identity. Similar to Stout, Leslie Bell also discovers
the topic of psychological mechanisms in her Selection from Hard to Get: Twenty–Something
Women and the Paradox of Sexual Freedom when women are given a paradox of sexual freedom by
explaining how women split to create histories and identities for themselves. Bell's patients, Jayanthi
and Alicia, want to define themselves, but simultaneously face pressures from their family and
society as to how they should act. Susan Faludi's, "The Naked Citadel" explains the experience of
the cadets, while they were at The Citadel, where they were guided into following The Citadel's
standards, which

Personal Narrative: It's Me By Zach
Hey...it's me, Zach. Remember the year and a half I wasted on you, thinking you were the one for
me? I used to be so in love with you. You used to make me feel so good, and I just don't know what
happened. We were extremely happy in the beginning, but I guess that's just how it goes. Two
people meet and they decide that they love each other, they give their all, but what comes with that
is losing yourself. You put so much of yourself into another person to make them happy, and for a
little while they do the same. Like you did...you used to love me. You used to be there for me when
I'd have anxiety attacks late at night about whether or not we'd stay together. You would comfort me

A Short Story : A Story?
I see the sweet, alluring flowers in the crammed valley. The raw herbs itch my legs, satisfying my
pleasure with bliss. Picking from the sticky weeds, I find a handsome blossom and add it to my
assortment. I glance to the town as the people worship me with the joys of Spring. I grin in
satisfaction and love.
As the day grows old, I sigh in content. My delight and basket overflow with hard work. My legs
covered in bug bites and cuts from the overgrown grass. The once white dress is now bitten by the
meadow. I swallow the heartbreak as the sun hides, but smile when I remember how tomorrow will
be.
Unexpectedly, I feel a shiver through my spine. The rolling hills shift in temperature. I break to the
golden gates of home. The carefully chiseled arches stand tall, unafraid of the sudden bleak climate.
I tremble with uneasiness and wish my dress can swallow me.
''Persephone!'' a deep rumble trails behind me.
The ground wobbles in horror. I swivel around quick and get light headed at the sight in front of me.
A scream would never exit my body, it froze in dread. There stood the devil, King of the
Underworld, Hades.
Hades palm crashed against my arm. My frigid skin felt foreign to his burning hand. I hiss in pain
and discomfort. I know nothing good can ever happen out of this. Why was he here? I thought. A
hard tug made my shoulder blade burn. I tremble as he starts to open his mouth.
" Come with me, Persephone." his mouth closes in a hum.
I finally grab my courage.

My Love Of Art
Question (Q): So just to get some basic information, where are you from? Kumi Yamashita (Kumi):
I was born in a small town not that far outside of Tokyo. I moved to the United states when I was in
high school as a foreign exchange student. Q: How did you discover that you loved art? Kumi: I
don't really remember when art wasn't a part of my life in some way or form. Both of my parents
were involved in very creative occupations. My mother made all of the clothes for my sister and I,
as she had studied fashion for most of her life. My dad was particularly interested in traditional
styles of Japanese crafts and drawings. He was an industrial design professor who spent his free
time sculpting. My parents encouraged my sister and I to draw and express ourselves. I always loved
drawing and I spent hours of my childhood with a pencil in my hand, " in fact, my father named me
kumi, which uses two chinese characters the first character '工' translates as 'to make or create' and
the second character '美' translates as 'beauty'. so maybe my dad jinxed me!" (Butler) Q: How did
you decide to take your love of art and transition it to becoming an "artist"? Kumi: I don't think
there was ever a specific moment in my life where I decided that I was going to be an artist. It just
kind of happened. It sounds cheesy but I just do what I love every day, and I guess now I am an
artist. Q: Your artwork isn't a typical painting or sculpture, in your words, how would you describe

"Danny, take the garbage out!" said Piper, my mother one night. She's actually my step–mother, as
my actual mother died two years ago. My dad, who was at the time out of town due to work, agreed

moved in, my family and I have gotten to know everyone in Akroy and they've gotten to know us.
However, there was this odd person who I thought was mentally ill, so I never approached him.
Anyways, I was never fond of Piper, as she seemed too commanding the moment I first saw her.
"Fine," I groaned. I went outside, however, I got this immediate and nagging suspicion. Surprisingly,
every other kid on my street had also gone out to take out the trash. I didn't know why I was

Descriptive Essay Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday
One bright Saturday morning, I woke up, and walked down stairs into the living room and kitchen.
The house was decorated with balloons and a big streamer that said '' Happy Birthday!'' It was my
seventh birthday. A rush of excitement flowed through me. Where was my parents? They might still
be sleeping, I thought.
A little while later, I heard my parents walking down the stairs. '' Happy Birthday!'' They said. I got
up from watching television and hugged them. '' Your party will start at two thirty,'' my mom said. ''
Ok! '' I replied, excited.
As we got prepared for the party, setting out all the food, moving the furniture in a more unique
position. By the time we finished, it was only one 'o' clock. Since we still had a hour and a half, I
used my remaining time to shower, get some good clothes on, and comb my hair. When I went back
down stairs, it was already two. '' when does the party end?'' I asked. '' It ends at five thirty,'' she
said. '' Oh. Okay!'' I replied.
Now, it was almost two thirty. We only had invited a couple people, and some neighbors. A sound of
a car driving by pulled my mind back to reality. '' Is that one of my friends?'' I asked my dad. '' Mm,
no I've seen that car parked in the neighborhood before. '' my dad replied. ''Oh. '' I said, a little
disappointed. '' Don't worry, there will be people here soon, it's almost time." he said reassuringly.
The first person had come. It was one of my school friends. For a little

America Never Was America Again By Langston Hughes
Has America ever been great, of the 239 years this influential country has been a country has it ever
been truly great and free? As Langston Hughes exclaimed, "America never was America to me".
Learned Hand and Langston Hughes had differences on their thought on the topic of Liberty and
whether America is great. Hughes and Hands opinion of Liberty has changed the way the common
man reacts to racism and the way we perceive America's greatness.
America is arguably the most robust country and yet it also one of many countries where we are not
all free. In the poem "Let America Be America Again" Langston Hughes shows his opinion of
America and declared that America has never been great and never will be if there is varied equality
among the ethnics and their social classes. Learned Hand announced "That spirit of an American
which has never been, and may never be; nay, which never will be except as the conscience and
courage of Americas create it", her he feels that America is only as good as the common people in it,
therefore, Americas future lies in our hands and the way we use it. Both Langston Hughes and
Learned Hand presumed that America has never been great yet, Hand is unsure on whether America
has the potential to change their ways but, Langston Hughes let out his emotions exclaiming"
America never was America to me, and yet I swear this oath America will be! These two Americans
have shown how they feel and believe that we can only be a magnificent country if we believe

Why I Want To Go Back To College
College can be scary and intimidating. I have said that many times. Therefore, a lot of people rely on
friends and people from their high school when they arrive to college because this is comfortable to
them. They are familiar with these people, and it is easy to talk to them and be around them. A lot of
people are scared to be on their own or talk to new people. A lot of people are absolutely terrified of
change. Independency is intimidating and so is branching out to new people. However, if you're
looking for a chance to change and start something new, freshman year is the time and the place.
Everything is new, and going into it entirely single and on my own allowed for so much freedom in
my life. I wasn't focused on someone else and was able to do things for myself. I was entirely
focused on who I wanted to be, which lead to showing me who I wanted to be around and what I
look for in another person. I now know the kind of person I see myself with in the future. I feel very
confident however that I would not have been able to dedicate so much time to myself and learn

Personal Narrative: Rick Warren
Rick Warren states, "Fear is a self–imposed prison that will keep you from becoming what God
intends for you to be. You must move against it with the weapons of faith and love." Fear in our
lives can veer us from what our true calling may be. If we allow this fear to engulf us, we may never
reach our full potential, but by God's great works, faith is much more powerful than any fear that
might become present in our lives. We need to always remember, if God places us in trials, he has a
purpose, and we need to believe we are developing into someone God would look down and smile
upon. The weight that comes about with frightening situations may feel unbearable, but if you have
faith and trust in the Lord this burden will suddenly become a lighter load to carry. For as long as I
can remember my family and I have attended church almost every Sunday. Being from small town
Iowa, everyone around me had always accepted the same ideas and beliefs as me, so I never had
seen a different perspective. I had stayed within my comfort zone for fifteen years at this point in

Personal Narrative Essay : Growing Up As A Child In My School
Growing up as a child we were always told that the older you get the things you found fun as a kid
would change. It would become less of an enjoyment towards you. I find this to be extremely true.
Being the only boy out of three siblings, I use to do very childish things. Things that would make
your skin crawl. My favorite thing to do to try and mess with my sister was flush the toilet while
they were in the shower. If you didn't know, sometimes it would make your water really hot or make
it really cold. Regardless it was pretty funny, so to see their reaction and how mad they got. Now
that I think back stuff like that didn't compare to other immature things I've done. In school I didn't
really take it seriously. I was looked at as the class clown because of my behavior and wanting to
make everyone laugh. I was the one if you wanted a good laugh, you could just talk or hang out with
me. It was this one time in class we had a substitute teacher for math. She was a kind of old lady
probably mid–forties or fifties. After she had taken role and everything and made sure we were in
our correct seats, we were given our assignment to just work out the math problems in our math
book we were assigned till the end of class.
Me being the immature person I used to be, as the teacher left out of class I started a "crayon war"

Save Ended Up After Your Life

  • 1. Save Ended Up After Your Life Have you ever had something happen in your life where you saw signs of it coming, but did anything you could to help fix things? Then in the end it ended up what you were trying to fix was not something that could be done on your behalf? No matter how hard you tried, you could not seem to hold that which you were working so hard to hold on to, what you were trying to save ended up dissolving quickly right before your eyes. After what you had fought for with every ounce of strength you had, every hope you had, and every fiber of your being desiring to not give up seems to have just shattered right before your eyes, it is near impossible to bounce back quickly from that. For me, I have recently found just how accurate the following saying is.... "You never know what you have until you do not have it anymore." When you lose something or someone you have tried to fight for through thick or thin, it is almost as though you want to give up completely and not have hope things may end up being rebuilt down the road. At least for me, I worked so hard and gave my all in order to help save something very dear to me and in the end it felt as though it were not worth it. What I realized though is that what I had fought for so long ended up being something I could not keep. As much as it hurts and pains me to not have what I fought for, so much so that I want to curl up in a ball and hide from the world at times, I also know that the hurt is in a great deal related to the fact that who I ... • 3. Reflective Speech Libby Streeton– Irrational thinking is common in a nuclear war, right? Why did I expect Fin and Max would change their minds? I begged them through a river of tears to stay with me. But that was not enough. I can't adjust to reality, watching their lanky bodies fade in the distance keeps reminding me of the fate of their lives. Max is only 12, too young to witness violent and unforgiving deaths of innocent citizens. What happens if I never see them again? I assumed I was doing right but apparently, what I think is right is wrong. I am only just beginning to realise what has just happened. They are gone. My two young boys are gone forever. I have hugged them for the final time. They risked their lives to find me. But I couldn't do the same. I'm stuck in a half broken down office building in the middle of a deserted city and I can't leave because too many people rely on me to stay here and help. Inhale. Exhale. I keep thinking about what my life is like now, and right now I feel it is hopeless. I am isolated, sitting in a patrolled corner of an office, trying to deal with this absolute shit of a situation. I'm a failure of a mother to let my children out of my sight and endanger themselves by going out onto the deserted streets to find a group of people that may or may not even exist. I had the chance to keep them here, but I lost it just as easily. Today is not the day to judge Greg on his decisions as a parent, but what sort of a father deserts his sons and runs after a girl he's just met? Bad parenting if you ask me... I wish I knew sooner that he just walked out on them, I'm not one to judge and I'm certainly not the ideal mother but that was immature. If only Greg and I were on better terms, I mean both of us being the adults were childish to let down the boys, I'm disappointed in the both of us. I know in my heart, I couldn't stay with a man I no longer loved, neither could I cheat on him. Leaving him suited me but broke max and fin. But I didn't care, did I? I mean as long as they have money life is complete. Why Libby, why? I could have and should have made an effort to visit. I'm a hypocritical person, to blame all the reasons why the boys are now abounded in a shopping centre on Greg and his childish ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Chocolate Chip Cookies: A Short Story I am a sugar molecule and I am found in a Pillsbury Chocolate Chip Cookies. I've carried on with a short life and today is the day I wander out into the obscure, within the human body and I'm super anxious! As the child in front of me pics me up from the baking sheet, I feel the fervor and dread inside me as I'm being lifted to her mouth, getting ready for digestion, and expeditiously being chewed by her teeth. I begin to feel the tremendous measure of torment experiencing my body as I feel the salivation separating me into little particles. I figure this is the "chemical digestion" I caught wind of! The kid swallows me and I deteriorate down into the epiglottis and pharynx and straight to her throat. Uh–oh, the central nervous system freed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The taste of melon by borden deal The Taste of Melon B O R D E N Focus Your Learning Reading this story will help you: ■ relate your own experience to the story theme ■ analyse story structure ■ identify changes in the narrator's perspective ■ interpret characters' motives 130 Look Closely D E A L When I think of the summer I was sixteen, a lot of things some crowding in to be thought about. We had moved just the year before, and sixteen is still young enough that the bunch makes a difference. I had a bunch, all right, but they weren't sure of me yet. I didn't know why. Maybe because I'd lived in town, and my father still worked there instead of farming, like the other fathers did. The boys I knew, even Freddy Gray and J.D., still kept a small ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Men came from miles around to look at it. Mr. Wills wouldn't let them go into the melon patch. They had to stand around the edge. Just like all other daredevil boys in that country, I guess, Freddy Gray and J.D. and I had talked idly about stealing that giant watermelon. But we all knew that it was just talk. Not only were we afraid of Mr. Wills and his rages but we knew that Mr. Wills sat in the hayloft window of his barn every night with his shotgun, guarding the melon. It was his seed melon. He meant to plant next year's crop out of that great one and maybe raise a whole field of them. Mr. Wills was in a frenzy of fear that somebody would steal it. Why, he would rather you stole Willadean than his melon. At least, he didn't guard Willadean with his shotgun. Every night I could sit on our front porch and see Mr. Wills sitting up there in the window of his hayloft, looking fiercely out over his melon patch. I'd sit there by the hour and watch him, the shotgun cradled in his arm, and feel the tremors of fear and excitement chasing up and down my spine. "Look at him," my father would say. "Scared to death somebody will steal his seed melon. Wouldn't anybody steal a man's seed melon." "He ought to be in the house taking care of that wife of his," my mother would say tartly. "She's

  • 10. Purpose Of A Cultural Artifact The purpose of the cultural artifact is to demonstrate good communication skills and work on ways to perfect it. After my speech is a way for me to reflect upon my progress of public communication by getting feedback from my audience or classmates on area that I may need to improve up on. However being that this is my seconded speech, there were some strong points as well as weak points about my speech that I need to work on to improving my speech. As an overview of my speech, I didn't put enough effort on my speech that I would liked to have done. After finishing my outline I only look at my paper a few times just going over what I would be saying for my speech. The reason that I didn't spend too much time practicing with my speech was because I was very busy where as my other classes are demanding when it comes to time manages meant. As a result for not practicing, I have notice a huge difference on my second speech in comparison to my first. Whereas my first speech I had spent the proper amount of time going over the material and practicing my rehearsal with my girlfriend (Cassie). Conversely to my first speech I felt confident on what I wanted to talk about, but one huge difference was that I didn't practice my rehearsal. As a result of not putting the time to practice my speed I had verbal clutter and not being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not putting the time when it can to going over my outline and rehearsal made it difficult to communicate towards my audience. Even though I my audience provided positive feedback I still feel that it could have been better. I did have verbal clutter and I also didn't use hand jesters as a part of my communication. In addition to my second speech, I felt that I got lost for a little bit even though I manage to pull myself together. • 12. President Trump Monologue ''No, no, please, I am begging you, let him go. Do you not have a heart ?!'' I sob in between every word I scream. My life is ending. The world is ending, and there is nothing anyone can do. Today's date is July 3, 2021. President Trump has started his second term as of today, today is also the day he announces that the world is dying. '' I am truly sorry to publish this news to everyone. Unfortunately scientist has proven that the earth is running out of air and pretty soon the deadly toxic air will replace it all. Sounds like something out of a movie right ? But no it is true indeed, we will locate a plan immediately, so please do not panic. Please stay inside and rarely come out. We will be in touch.'' President Trump then signs off. The broadcast is everywhere for the next couple days, on replay and replay. President Trumps serious tone is glued to my mind like paint on a wall. ''He can't be serious. Ari, get your head together. This has to be a national prank, there is no way the Earth can run out of air! You earn all A's in science. It is impossible! '', I start speaking to myself. ... '' oh no dad, has the toxic air poison you too?'', I teasingly gasp. '' C'mon both my parents have gone totally crazy! There is no way in their dang mind that they can be falling for this prank.'', i roll my eyes. We arrive at the front of walmart and we can see people running in and running out with huge bags with food, all with face masks on. I spot one of best friend that i haven't seen since the last day of school. I rush out the car and sprint to her. '' Omg can you believe this Gaby ?! everyone is so gullible. I have spent my life with my arms extended, always touching, always searching, always feeling my surroundings, always trying to understand what I couldn't see. I have felt the presence of my brothers and sisters, but they never seem to feel or see me. Their eyes are always to the sky, as if expecting something to fall from the heavens. It matters not if they have sight. They are blind. There was a time before this, but I can't recall anything but silence and darkness. It's as if the first half of my life had been deleted. Many questions ran through my head, 'Where am I going?', 'Who is this?', 'Why have you taken me?', 'Am I going to die?'. My stomach sank as the last question resonated inside me. Was I going to die? I felt too young to die. What did I do to deserve death? A gruff voice alarmingly close to my ear said, "Hey, shut up. You're not going to die yet. You'll see where we're going soon," before my mind could wander any further. 'Are you–?' "Yes," he answered aloud. The earthy scent of the forest slowly transitioned into that of the city and the voice told me we were in front of a large structure built for government hostages. I was a hostage? What the hell was going to happen to me? The strong hands led me into the building, which from the sound of things, seemed to be empty. Our footsteps echoed in the deserted lobby and down a wide hallway, until the hands lead me carefully down several flights of stairs where they were stifled by concrete. The air was musty and humid down here. We took a few more steps until a metal door opened noisily. The hands pushed me into a confining box– oh, that makes sense. It was a lift. The lift shifted, and I began to feel woozy as it went down, down, down... It seemed to take ages until it finally stopped and the metal doors once again opened noisily. I put my hands out instinctively until the man with the strong hands put them back at my side and lead me down a narrow corridor. A door opened heavily, and from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I wanted to be remembered a hero who saved our race, died in the battlefield. As I fell back a smile crept into my face as I heard a loud grunt, I did it , I killed him. I was ready to hit the hard concrete floor as our troops came out of hiding, but I fell into something delicate. Her face was blurry, tears were coming out of her eyes, Alexa. I could hear her screaming "Mark, no, don't go, stay with me. You'll be saved." As I lay in my death bed, I recalled how we got here. "We just have to get into their main base, and take out their king. Then boom, game over." I replied as I thought of battle strategies. "We barge in. Their troop might be almost as large, but not the same, their technology is far behind. If we have every one of our soldiers armed, and we barge in, we can beat them. We can win." I said out loud, as I got on my feet. "But isn't that a risque? We could be walking into a trap, or they could have developed better technologies. We could be risking the lives of every one of our soldiers." She replied. I walked a step closer to her, she slowly took a step back "I'm here because I take these risks, yes we could all die, but we could also win this. The more time we give them, the better the opportunity they have of developing technologies better than ours." Then, I walked out of the cramped, creamed coloured ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. Philosophy Statement My Professional Philosophy Statement I believe the purposes of education is to teach the children to do the best they can at everything they do. It 's important to let the children know when they make mistakes to learn from them, and to let them know that they will be loved, even if they make mistakes. Each and every child should experience a positive approach of teaching from mistakes rather than negative. As children no matter the age they remember things; wouldn't it be better for them to remember the positive approach of teaching them from the mistake then the negative. To make the children feel safe, and secure in their environment and to let them know how important they are. Children learn best in an environment that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most important thing is to use the appropriate curriculum which would include certain "basics" that contribute to children's social, emotional, physical development. . Each and every child should feel in your classroom that they are loved for who they are, and they shouldn't have to change the way they are. It 's important to let the child know that there is nothing wrong with being different, and that no matter what everyone should treat them the same. Another feature that is key is organization, and structure they both go hand in hand, and is needed in every classroom. The children need the structure, and organization so they can learn, and can use this throughout their life. All children have certain needs that must be met if they are to grow and learn at their best. Some of these basic needs are making sure their physical needs are met, safe environment, self–esteem, and loving the children. Another way that has helped me figure out what the needs of the children are communicating with the parents, and getting them involved so that we can both work on meeting the needs of their children. I would meet these needs by showing them love through hugs, and expressing the care I have for each child. Children of all ages love being shown affection and you can do that by simply letting a child sit on your lap, or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It resolves their feelings for one another by bring them together at last and having their families come together. The joint burial shows a compromise between the Indian culture and the English culture. The burial shows that both Indian and white traditions are combined for Cora and Uncas. The eulogies made about Cora and Uncas are in both English and Delaware; along with , songs are sung by both David and the Delaware girls. • 26. Suicide : Suicide And Suicide Suicide, it's looked at as a joke, the coward's way out, and even as a false attempt for attention. See it as you want, but I saw it as a way to leave everything behind and to never have to look back. The one choice I wouldn't live to regret. So in August of 2014, I made the attempt to flee from my problems, past, and suffering. The plan was simple, overdose and never wake up. It wasn't that easy for me though. When I was in the middle of my actions, my mother walked in. Her reaction was exactly how anyone would assume it would be: she broke down, screaming, crying, and spreading the news to everybody in the family. Shortly after, she called my sister over and they had an intervention I wasn't supposed to hear, but I heard it all while lying in my bedroom covered up with my pale gray cover, its color reminding me of my mood. How did they expect me to not hear their bickering when they only noises in the house were my silent sobs, their stern voices, and the crickets outside of my window? When my mother had said I needed help, I assumed that I would attend therapy. Boy, was I wrong. My mother had left the room and I heard her muffled voice in a rush, cracking just like my will to hold on any longer. Everything felt like it was collapsing, mainly when after what I assumed was a phone call, my mother cracked my door open, sighing. • 28. My Halo Research Paper The Background During the summer before my junior year in high school I broke my neck while on vacation in Outer Banks, NC. I spent the next three months in a cervical halo and three more months after that in a standard C–collar neck brace. My first month back at school was spent in the halo which was interesting because not many people had ever seen one of these braces and did not know the full extent of the hardware. It is a large plastic vest with sheep wool lining the inside; making attending a school with predominantly outdoor hallways in the August heat a very sweaty endeavor. From the vest shot four bars, two in front and two in back, that held a horseshoe shaped bar (the halo) containing 4 screws. At the end of each screw was a fine point that anchored into my skull and stabilized my head/neck. I could not take the halo off and had to bathe, sleep, eat and everything else while wearing the device. Obviously wearing the halo limited my choices of fashion and I resorted to wearing a tank top that I would slip on starting with my feet because it was the most breathable option. • 30. Evaluation Of A Teacher Student Relationship Linda Albert (2012) mentions for students to experience a strong sense of belonging in school, they must satisfy Cooperative Discipline's "Three Cs". The Three Cs are Capable, Connect, and Contribute. "Three factors affect students' ability to satisfy the Three Cs in the classroom: the quality of the teacher–student relationship; the strength of the classroom climate for success; and the appropriateness of the classroom structure" (Albert, 2012). The best way to satisfy the Three Cs through the use of encouragement strategies. If we are positive and encouraging, "people do better when they feel better, and that which people perceive affects the way they feel. For example, if you receive a compliment, then a positive feeling emerges" (Marshall, 2005). The first C is helping students feel Capable. When students feel good about themselves they have fulfilled the feeling of capable. As teachers, Linda Albert mentioned different encouragement techniques to help students reach their full potential. Linda made her techniques into five major strategies: make mistakes okay, build confidence, focus on past successes, make learning tangible, and recognize achievement. I make sure I implement her strategies into my classroom. For instance, I show students that I make mistakes all the time and it is okay if they do to. Also I tell the students if they mistake in the lab, that "it's okay, that's why I am here to help you". To build confidence, I make sure I focus on their improvements ... This is a major part of Gymnastics. The sport is all about working up towards your goal. It's all about practicing until you feel confident or when you finally reach where you wanted to be. You have to just get over the fact that yes, you may fall or not get it on the first try but if you never try it will go nowhere. Also if you do get a skill you have to keep practicing or you will get out of practice and loose the feeling and sensation of that trick. So I guess that "practice makes perfect" applies perfectly to this situation and it can tell you a lot. Inform and Explain Lots of people don't understand Gymnastics. Mostly people think just go to a gym set up some different mats and get started. Really this is not even a bit of the elements of gymnastics, there is so much more that lots of people don't even have a clue about. So the first thing I'll talk about is where you have to go. So you start at the gym. In the gym there is way too much equipment to count, there's mats, bars, beams, trampolines, tumble tracks, big floor spaces and to much more. The ... Looming high above it all was the raven who decided she didn't want to leave. The day I came home from the hospital was the day she decided to move in. Watching her glide in the wind drifts caused a stirring in my soul. Every time I looked at her dark black feathers I thought of that dream. It took a while, but eventually I was able to remember it all. The inky lifeless feel of those things burned a hollow, incomplete feel in the back of my mind. Ever since that day I've tried to forget, but it still manages to creep into my reality. The front door opened and closed swiftly. I looked at the hall and watched Annie come into view. Eventually it'll be gone and you'll be able to do stuff again." She threw her purse on the counter and started to pick at the butchered strawberries. I looked at her hands. Her slender fingers held steady as she plucked slices off the cutting board. Every piece she picked up made it to her mouth instead of falling from her fingers. • 44. The Secrets Of Toxic Secrets While essential secrets focus on creating boundaries and protecting others, toxic secrets tend to do almost the complete opposite. Toxic secrets are usually kept from those that have a right to know or should be informed of the secret. This, in turn, causes a lot of disruption and tension in certain relationships. There are several different reasons why people choose to keep toxic secrets from their family members, friends, coworkers, and others in the outside world. Most of the time people feel as though the benefits of keeping their toxic secret hidden from another will outweigh the costs of not doing so. The reason for this is that most toxic secrets include sensitive topics ranging from donor assistance and adoption to homosexuality. Before delving into the different topics that exist in the world of toxic secrets, it is important to understand the process that others go through when keeping a toxic secret and deciding whether or not they should share that secret. Imber–Black (2009) explains that there are two types of people who keep toxic secrets. The first type includes those who are powerless and keep secrets from those that are in power. They do so in order to gain safety and power against those who already possess the power. The second type includes those that are in power and may use toxic secrets against those who are less fortunate or less powerful. The world can be viewed as an intricate and complex place, which contains different groups of people who have distinct views and behaviors. The pressure that is exerted on these individuals due to contrasting views and behaviors leads an individual to either dissociate or split. Martha Stout, the author of "When I Woke Up Tuesday Morning, It Was Friday" discusses how her patients, Seth and Julia, were affected by trauma and dissociation. Dissociation and splitting, whether conscious or unconscious, influences an individual to a large extent by enabling them to detach from reality and change his or her worldview. Through her discussions and interviews with Julia and Seth, Stout depicts how much dissociation can affect an individual, which ultimately could result in the creation of a new identity. Similar to Stout, Leslie Bell also discovers the topic of psychological mechanisms in her Selection from Hard to Get: Twenty–Something Women and the Paradox of Sexual Freedom when women are given a paradox of sexual freedom by explaining how women split to create histories and identities for themselves. Bell's patients, Jayanthi and Alicia, want to define themselves, but simultaneously face pressures from their family and society as to how they should act. • 60. Descriptive Essay Happy Birthday Happy Birthday One bright Saturday morning, I woke up, and walked down stairs into the living room and kitchen. The house was decorated with balloons and a big streamer that said '' Happy Birthday!'' It was my seventh birthday. A rush of excitement flowed through me. Where was my parents? They might still be sleeping, I thought. A little while later, I heard my parents walking down the stairs. '' Happy Birthday!'' They said. I got up from watching television and hugged them. '' Your party will start at two thirty,'' my mom said. '' Ok! '' I replied, excited. As we got prepared for the party, setting out all the food, moving the furniture in a more unique position. By the time we finished, it was only one 'o' clock. Since we still had a hour and a half, I used my remaining time to shower, get some good clothes on, and comb my hair. When I went back down stairs, it was already two. '' when does the party end?'' I asked. '' It ends at five thirty,'' she said. '' Oh. Okay!'' I replied. Now, it was almost two thirty. We only had invited a couple people, and some neighbors. A sound of a car driving by pulled my mind back to reality. '' Is that one of my friends?'' I asked my dad. '' Mm, no I've seen that car parked in the neighborhood before. '' my dad replied. ''Oh. '' I said, a little disappointed. '' Don't worry, there will be people here soon, it's almost time." he said reassuringly. The first person had come. It was one of my school friends. For a little ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 62. America Never Was America Again By Langston Hughes Has America ever been great, of the 239 years this influential country has been a country has it ever been truly great and free? As Langston Hughes exclaimed, "America never was America to me". Learned Hand and Langston Hughes had differences on their thought on the topic of Liberty and whether America is great. Hughes and Hands opinion of Liberty has changed the way the common man reacts to racism and the way we perceive America's greatness. America is arguably the most robust country and yet it also one of many countries where we are not all free. In the poem "Let America Be America Again" Langston Hughes shows his opinion of America and declared that America has never been great and never will be if there is varied equality among the ethnics and their social classes. Learned Hand announced "That spirit of an American which has never been, and may never be; nay, which never will be except as the conscience and courage of Americas create it", her he feels that America is only as good as the common people in it, therefore, Americas future lies in our hands and the way we use it. Both Langston Hughes and Learned Hand presumed that America has never been great yet, Hand is unsure on whether America has the potential to change their ways but, Langston Hughes let out his emotions exclaiming" America never was America to me, and yet I swear this oath America will be! These two Americans have shown how they feel and believe that we can only be a magnificent country if we believe ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 64. My Speech On My Life We have been just sitting here, we have not said much. I feel so much better in this moment in time. I don 't need friends or even someone to talk to. I am fine the way I am, the only wish I had was just to not be alone. I will be fine as long I have someone next to me. That person does not have to talk, they can just sit here next to me like yoongi is. I fine with that, I get so needy and out of control when I am left alone. I start wanting things I know I can 't have. I start to feel things that I know will never happen. " namjoon I know you don 't talk much, but just know that you talk to me about anything. I will listen to you, and won 't judge you I promise." This is about the 3rd time yoongi has told me this, I guess he really wants me to talk to him more. I can understand to a point because that is what normal people do. " you know what I want to do yoongi. I want to fly away, to be a star in the sky. Everything just seems better up there in the sky. There are nice and fluffy clouds, there are birds with the freedom to fly away. At night there are so many other stars and the moon. up their I would never be alone. Up there nothing can touch me, up there nothing can hurt me. I want to forever live in the sky, it is better than this world or the people here. Also the hate and love that is all around. It all just get to be too much." He gave me a worried look but he did not say anything. I think it was for the best for him not to say anything, I don 't know what he would ... • 68. Frankenstein : A Short Story Anthony rested his hand above Lilith's shoulder, leaning his entire weight towards her. His golden eyes flashed as his pupils turned from the small round dots to snake–like slits. Lilith couldn't help but continue to stare until he blinked and his pupils had returned to normal once again. "Do you know what I am?" Anthony whispered. Lilith squinted her eyes, wondering what kind of question he had even thought to ask. "You're obviously some kind of freak that likes to look like one that's fascinated with fire." He laughed. "No, I'm not fascinated, I am fire incarnate." Anthony dropped his hand from the wall and wrapped it around Lilith's waist pulling her in. "That's not very fair now," Lilith whispered and grabbed Anthony's shirt as well and pulled it above his head. She gasped as she saw tattoos across his body. A few she recognized as older gangs that had long since dispersed from the area. The one tattoo that caught her interest the most was the one covering his shoulder that showed a large dragon, frozen in time from a long forgotten legend. "So that's why you call yourself a dragon?" Anthony smiled. "No, this is." Wings erupted from his back, spreading and filling the entire room. They were a dark black with a sheen of red throughout. He wrapped his arms around Lilith and pulled her close to his body. He was even more warm than before. "Hold tight." He stretched his wings out and walked over to the window. Lilith didn't know what was about to happen, but her adrenaline increased as her excitement of the new unknown came to be. He kicked open the window and looked down the several stories below them. In an instant, he jumped out and began to soar with Lilith in his arms. She could feel the wind whipping against her skin and pulled herself closer to Anthony so she wouldn't fall. As quickly as he had launched into the air, he stopped. Lilith looked down and could see all of the cityscape below her. Her body froze, fearful that she might fall. She could still feel his wings flapping, keeping them both hovering in the air. "Can we please go back into the apartment? I believe you now." "This isn't just to prove ... • 72. Why I Want To Go Back To College College can be scary and intimidating. I have said that many times. Therefore, a lot of people rely on friends and people from their high school when they arrive to college because this is comfortable to them. They are familiar with these people, and it is easy to talk to them and be around them. A lot of people are scared to be on their own or talk to new people. A lot of people are absolutely terrified of change. Independency is intimidating and so is branching out to new people. However, if you're looking for a chance to change and start something new, freshman year is the time and the place. Everything is new, and going into it entirely single and on my own allowed for so much freedom in my life. I wasn't focused on someone else and was able to do things for myself. I was entirely focused on who I wanted to be, which lead to showing me who I wanted to be around and what I look for in another person. I now know the kind of person I see myself with in the future. I feel very confident however that I would not have been able to dedicate so much time to myself and learn these things ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 74. Personal Narrative: Rick Warren Rick Warren states, "Fear is a self–imposed prison that will keep you from becoming what God intends for you to be. You must move against it with the weapons of faith and love." Fear in our lives can veer us from what our true calling may be. If we allow this fear to engulf us, we may never reach our full potential, but by God's great works, faith is much more powerful than any fear that might become present in our lives. We need to always remember, if God places us in trials, he has a purpose, and we need to believe we are developing into someone God would look down and smile upon. The weight that comes about with frightening situations may feel unbearable, but if you have faith and trust in the Lord this burden will suddenly become a lighter load to carry. For as long as I can remember my family and I have attended church almost every Sunday. Being from small town Iowa, everyone around me had always accepted the same ideas and beliefs as me, so I never had seen a different perspective. I had stayed within my comfort zone for fifteen years at this point in time, and I had no intentions of going outside of it any time soon. Part of being in this comfort zone was attending youth group every Wednesday night. Instead of being something I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I can't even fathom what he had gone through, and I would assume it would be quite easy to let fear consume you in a moment similar to this. However, that is not what Deo did. • 76. Personal Narrative Essay : Growing Up As A Child In My School Growing up as a child we were always told that the older you get the things you found fun as a kid would change. It would become less of an enjoyment towards you. I find this to be extremely true. Being the only boy out of three siblings, I use to do very childish things. Things that would make your skin crawl. My favorite thing to do to try and mess with my sister was flush the toilet while they were in the shower. If you didn't know, sometimes it would make your water really hot or make it really cold. Regardless it was pretty funny, so to see their reaction and how mad they got. Now that I think back stuff like that didn't compare to other immature things I've done. In school I didn't really take it seriously. I was looked at as the class clown because of my behavior and wanting to make everyone laugh. I was the one if you wanted a good laugh, you could just talk or hang out with me. It was this one time in class we had a substitute teacher for math. She was a kind of old lady probably mid–forties or fifties. After she had taken role and everything and made sure we were in our correct seats, we were given our assignment to just work out the math problems in our math book we were assigned till the end of class. Me being the immature person I used to be, as the teacher left out of class I started a "crayon war" with some of my friends. I had thrown a crayon to the other side of the room and told one of my friends keep tossing it back and forth till the teacher came back ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
