Old Geo Essay
As we pick up the exciting, action packed, fourth episode of the saga of Old Geo. Ochenski. We find
Ron and Geo setting at The Goobers Bristol Cafe in old downtown Missoula. The air is filled with
stagnant current. People stop, look and move to the other side of the street. They all know, that a less
than potent outburst, was about to happen. But, from whom, they did not know. Ron stood and walked
to the driver side of the Cad. He asked the man inside for the Ochenski file. Where upon he walked
back to the table. Sitting down, he asked, Geo as he placed the file on the table, How is your
revolution going? Geo., got a puzzled look on his face and asked, revolution? What revolution? Ron
opened the file, thumbed though a few sheets of paper, selected one and showed it to Geo. ... Show

I have been around for a long time and I know a lot. On the paper in bold type were the words,
{Revolution, where had he heard that before. Bernie s revolution, that s what I will do, I will join
Bernie and his revolution.} Geo looked up and said, Oh that revolution. well Bernie didn t do as good
as I thought he should have in Nevada. And with the passing of Justice Scalia I m having a hard time
keeping up. At this time, the waitress was there with Ron s breakfast. As they eat, they made small talk
about Missoula and where was a good place to go horseback riding. The waitress asked the oldest of
the men, if he would like a refill? Yes. he said, but, only one, for two cups is my limit. Geo, turned
silent, as he rolled his large cappuccino cup between his hands, while watching the other finish his
breakfast. Geo had accomplished this task, with four Geo size gulps, of each sandwich. Ron, placed
his spoon beside the bowl. Picked up his cup of coffee, leaning back in his chair, slowly drank the

Informative Issues In Hurricane Katrina
Hurricane Katarina was a category 5 hurricane that made landfall on the United States Gulf Coast in
the early A.M of August 29, 2005. Bringing with it 100 140 mile an hour winds and covering a
diameter of 400 miles it roared ashore destroying flood levees and destroying everything in its path,
and causing in excess of $100 Billion worth of destruction. It was at that time the worst disaster in
United States history. There has been a lot of debate during and after the disaster about the
government s handling of the crisis. A lot of people believe that the government dropped the ball and
did not really attempt to help the citizens of New Orleans and the surrounding area. This paper will
not attempt to sway the reader to any particular side but will present the reader with facts and let the
reader made their own informed decision.
It was no secret that there was a great risk for disaster as Hurricane Katrina approached the coast.
There was a great fear because it was known that the levees surrounding the city of New Orleans were
weak and in danger of collapse in normal circumstances and almost certain to break in the face of the
power of a storm such as Hurricane Katrina was likely to present. In light of this government officials
started preparing for the storm some days in advance. On the 26 of August the Governor of Louisiana
declared a state of emergency which help fast track the start of relief preparations. This was also the
same day the request for additional personnel

I Am Number Four Book Report
I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore is about a boy named Number Four. Number Four and eight
others escaped their planet Lorien, during an invasion. Now, they are in hiding from the people that
destroyed their planet. All is well except, the nine people that escaped had powers and can not be
killed out of order by the people that destroyed their planet. One through three were captured, and
killed and Number Four is next. He has hid his whole life, and he s ready to fight back. He is tired of
hiding and is ready to fight for his planet back.
I found this book to be very entertaining and well written. I really loved how the author wrote about
the invasion throughout the book instead of right in the beginning. I loved how well the characters
were developed. Number Four was developed as a shy kid that isn t afraid to stand up for himself. His
new friend was developed as a paranoid nerd, and lastly, his love interest was developed as a strong,
and independent girl that was an avid photographer and wasn t afraid to stand up for herself. I loved
the point of view because the story was narrated through Number Four s eyes and I felt as though I ...

this book always kept me on edge. I loved how the characters were developed more and more
throughout the book. I felt like I was in the story and felt the same hate towards the bullies that
Number Four felt. Also, I loved the setting and how I was more and more informed about Paradise as
well as Number Four s old home. I decided to read this book because my brother had said it was very
good, and he isn t a fan of science fiction either. I think that people that love a good mystery, and love

No place has generated so much speculation and wild theories as the standing stones of Stonehenge.
After traveling for miles through the rolling hills and plains of the English countryside the sight of this

I can only ask myself this question:

Its general architecture has also been subjected to centuries of weathering. The monument consists of
a number of structural elements, mostly circular in plan. On the outside is a circular ditch, with a bank
immediately within it, all interrupted by an entrance gap on the northeast, leading to a straight path
called the Avenue. At the center of the circle is a stone setting consisting of a horseshoe of tall uprights
of sarsen (Tertiary sandstone) encircled by a ring of tall sarsen uprights, all originally capped by
horizontal sarsen stones in a post and lintel arrangement. Within the sarsen stone circle were also
configurations of smaller and lighter bluestones (igneous rock of diabase, rhyolite, and volcanic ash),
but most of these bluestones have disappeared. Additional stones include the Altar Stone, the
Slaughter Stone, the Heel Stone, and the Station stones, and the last standing on

Energy, Renewable And Renewable Energy
Energy Future Energy has been a major part of humanity ever since the first human learned how to
harness safety, warmth, and energy from fire. Today, with seven billion humans on Earth, it is possible
that our constant need for energy could destroy our beautiful and fragile planet. One way to solve this
problem is to start using renewable energies such as solar and wind.
There are two types of energy, renewable and nonrenewable. Fossil fuels such as coal and petroleum
for example, are a non are renewable energy. They cannot be recreated once used and they take
hundreds of millions of years to form, much longer than the history of humanity. The other less
popular methods such as hydropower and solar power on the other hand, are renewable energy. They
can produce energy at a constant rate and can be recreated by one way or another. (Micah and Warhol)
To find the solution to energy problem, find the problem first, take a look at our current energy
sources and find the problems. The first thing people think of when talking about fuel is gasoline or
diesel, both of which come from petroleum. Petroleum is a fossil fuel that releases heat as energy
when burned. The heat released from burning drive turbines, air cylinders that can power machinery.
Petroleum is used mostly as fuel to engines such as cars and planes. (EPA) Petroleum is important for
allowing the modern world that we know to exist.
But even with these easy to see benefits, petroleum is not and should not be the

My American Culture
Every country has a different culture. It is the concept of what is acceptable within our society. It is the
idea of what is wrong or right. Culture also gives us as a guide, taking us to the right way and helping
us to make sense of things that surround us. There are many different cultures around the world. It is
obviously known as the differences of lifestyle, language, race, religion, and so on. A lot of them are
similar in specific ways, and others are just completely different. I am a girl who grew up in Vietnam
for nineteen years. I experienced a big culture shock when I first came to the US, even though things
got better and I am more familiar with the us culture, I am still experiencing culture shock. Everything
here is different compared to where I come from. It is a big opportunity for me to explore the new
world. I had to change myself in order to adapt to a new environment and learn about the differences
between Vietnamese and American such as families, education, social, and so on. My first challenge is
the language. It is not easy to understand and communicate with people in a new environment and
unfamiliar language. I am unfamiliar with the norms and behavior of a new cultural. The American
lifestyle is more open compare to the Vietnamese lifestyle. In my country, personal values are called
morality since they reflect general expectations of any person in my society. Parents want to monitor
their children s moral value. They do not want them to be

Tituba Salem Witch Trial
The Salem Witch Trials were a tragic event that echoed throughout history. Twenty lives were taken in
1691 and 1692. Over 150 others were accused and thrown in prison and even more have been haunted
by this hardship.
Although most of the cases for the Salem Witch Trials were fake, they could ve easily been prank that
went too far, or grudges against neighbors. Despite all of the rumors, there is one accusation that will
never be dropped. An Indian slave, Tituba. Tituba was the first to be accused of witchcraft in Salem
Village. She was brought before a court and confessed under pressure the names of two other witches ,

Only then did Salem Village realize what they had gotten themselves into. They apologized to the

Scientists have looked at the Salem Witch Trials and have pondered what could have caused the
afflicted and accused to act in such way. Back in 1976, Toxicologists studied the fungus ergot, which
can be found in wheat( the main crop grown in Salem Village). Ergot thrives in warm, wet conditions,
which in the summer of 1691 was particularly moist. It was also no coincidence that when the dry
summer of 1692 rolled around, ergot was nowhere to be found along with any convictions of so called

The First Signs Of Music Therapy Essay
The use of music for therapy has been seen to exist for almost as long as the start of therapy itself. At
around 400 B.C., Hippocrates, a Greek physician known for his tremendous contributions to modern
medicine, was shown to be the first human to use music as a way to therapeutically treat mental
patients. Since then, records of other civilizations such as the Egyptians, Arabians, and even the
Native Americans show signs of the use of music in medicine. This form of therapy was said to help
align the soul and the body together. However, it was not until the 18th century that researchers have
studied how music affects the nerves themselves (Gouk, 2004). The first signs of music therapy used
in the modern world were predominantly in the United Kingdom after World War I (Degmecic, 2005).
Musicians played to war veterans suffering from both mental and physical trauma to help alleviate
their pain. As these veterans were seen having positive responses to the music played, doctors hired
more musicians to help play at veteran hospitals. Seeing the positive feedback and recovery of the
veterans prompted the use of music therapy to become an actual academic curriculum taught in
college courses. Currently, the leading organization that focuses primarily on music therapy is the
American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) which was formed in 1998. Their team of music
therapists has helped countless of patients improve both their physical and emotional help with the use
of music. Music

The Story Of Miss And Me Essay
As the world turns, people come and go. Beginning life as a small child and eventually adopting the
ways of the older people around us and thus complete the cycle of life. In the story of Miss and Me
Mandible Bartholomew merges the mind of an adult with the body of a child who takes on a
controversial role. While the child possessed the knowledge and the sense of a full grown man he was
looked upon as a mere child who could not make wholesome decisions. This unique opportunity to
delve into what it means to be an adult and child is the crucial question being asked. Would people
rather be naïve children with no responsibilities or knowledgeable adults with worldly burdens? Being
a kid is a wonderfully blissful life, depending on the childhood you received. They are less taxing than
adult life despite most situations, and this is a big plus. Playing, eating, being sure to clean up before
meals, and fighting the authority figures that demand a curfew hour are a few concerns of a child s
role. An uncomplicated way of life that many enjoy and there are people around you to take care of
your needs. No bills, no deadlines, no major responsibilities, but no identity. Children barely have a
self concept of who they as they are generally attached to their parents for the better part of seventeen
years. Without fully understanding who they are, children cannot be a wholesome individual but
merely an extension of their parent s family. There is a huge lack of independence in

The Importance Of English Education
Based on the numerous sources of sound data available, U.S. is currently out educated. On the latest
Program for International Student Assessment form 2015, the United States scored an average in
reading and science, and below average in math. Results had been unchanged since 2000. U.S. scores
are behind global leaders like Finland, South Korea and Canada. It is not a surprise that Shanghai
outscored every other country, in all areas tested.
As U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Dunkan said at the Foreign Language Summit, 2010: We have to
educate our way to a better economy, just as our competitors are doing. We see this as a challenge to
get better, and one place we obviously need to get better is in teaching languages. The United States is
a long way from being the multi lingual society that so many of our competitors are. My message to
you today is that K 12 schools and higher education institutions must be part of the solution to our
language gap.
A world class education requires students to read and communicate other languages, in addition to
English. We need the Department of Education support now, more than ever, in implementing second
language instruction starting with early education and continuing engaging students in language,
throughout high school and college. In an increasingly complex and interconnected world, it is
without a doubt of utmost importance for the citizens of the United States to become fluent in the
world languages. As Americans, we have

Stereotyping
Stereotyping In My essay I will discuss stereotyping and different types of stereotyping. I will discuss
how in todays society people are stereotyped in different many ways. In today s society, there are
stereotypes for almost any groups that individuals belong to. At some point in any person s life, they
would have experienced stereotyping. For instance, it is often said that all African Americans are good
at basketball, males are more aggressive than females, Lawyers are deceitful, and the list goes on.
Stereotypes are so wide spread and used so often that they seem to be a natural behaviour for human
beings. (Kassin, Fein, Markus, 2008) So, what is stereotyping? Why do we categorize individuals into

Racial stereotypes specifically function mostly through propaganda of the media, due to the
unlikelihood of every man travelling to every country, using the technique of misinformation through
movies, shows, and news reports. Egyptians have been stereotyped as desert residents for many years
regardless of the reality and actual state of Egypt as a country. For instance, the stereotypes pointing
that Egyptians are mostly uneducated due to their ignorance of the importance of education is proven
false by studies of trustworthy sources. Among those studies, the one conducted by the American
university in Cairo , Egypt . Al Ahram weekly, a credible newspaper known all across the Arab world,
has posted in its October issue of 1998 the following: According to Sahar El Tawila, the principal
researcher on the team, interviews conducted with girls and boys nationwide show conclusively that
work and marriage were rarely stated by boys and girls respectively as reasons for leaving school.
These may be options for those who have already left school, but they are not the impetus behind their
decision to leave (Al Ahram 1998). Remembering Cosmopolitan Egypt: Literature, Culture, and

year in the last century. There is much fear, as temperature continues to increase, that possible ice
reduction and melted ice sheets and glaciers in the Artic, Antarctica, and Greenland may occur and
cause a rise in sea levels. If the Antarctic ice sheet melts, the sea level is calculated to rise two hundred
feet, while if the ice sheet in Greenland melts, the sea level is calculated to rise seven meters,
approximately twenty feet. The rise in sea level is affecting coastal areas. Many coastal areas are
expected to sooner or later be flooded or below sea level. This can have terrible consequences for high
populated coastal areas. Another problem that global warming may have on the world s oceans is the
possible change in the global oceanic conveyor belt . The conveyor belt controls the ocean s currents
which has impact on regional climate change. However, scientists have yet to agree on whether or not

Uncanny In The Sand-Man By Sigmund Freud
Out of Sigmund Freud s many definitions of the word uncanny, I found the definition of the uncanny
as something hidden, not known, or withheld from others the most intriguing (223). In The Sand Man,
Hoffman purposefully keeps the audience in the dark through his use of the letter format and
Nathanael s ignorance and hallucinations in order to retain the reader s attention.
Upon starting The Sand Man, any reader would notice the letter style narrative, which serves to drive
the story onward through the reader s curiosity. By telling the part of the story through the character s
correspondence, Hoffman limits the amount of information the audience can receive. Take, for
example, the very first letter from Nathanael, it was only meant for Lothair, meaning Nathanael was
trying to hide information from the other characters. Nathanael even ends the letter by telling Lothair
not to say anything to Nathaniel s mother and that he will write to Clara when he has a somewhat
calmer frame of mind. (9). This deliberate action of obscuring the truth is Freud s very definition of
uncanny. In addition, even if a character is willing to express his or her account, it will no doubt be
influenced by his or her emotions and memories that may or may not be completely accurate.
Describing Coppelius as hideous, cat like, and distorted in surprising and suspicious detail, Nathanael
seems like a rather unreliable narrator (5). Not only was this memory from his childhood and therefore

Landolt Clock Reaction Lab Report
DISCUSSION
By analysing the results of The Landolt clock reaction, and the outcomes that occur due to change in
concentration and the addition of a catalyst, the data did partially support the hypothesis. That by
changing the concentrations of potassium iodate and sodium bisulphite the rate of the reaction will
increase. The rate gradually increased per every 10 seconds on the NaHSO3 graph. Whereas compared
to the KIO3 graph the rate was more efficient, the reaction was achieved within 5 seconds. However,
the second hypothesis regarding the addition of a catalyst, displayed acceptable results. The catalyst
increased the speed of the reaction within 10 seconds, which was slightly faster than the reaction times
gained from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tests that had large amounts of distilled water had a long reaction rate due to the breaking of the
molecular compounds within the reagents.
Secondary data states that the rate law yielded from the iodine clock reaction was rate = k[IO3] 1
(Lyle, Department of Chemistry) which was different to the rate law that this investigation obtained.
0.41 [KLO3]^2 [NaHSO3]^2. This would have happened due to the changing of both KIO3 and
NaHSO3, and also by adding more distilled water to the mixture which slowed down the reaction rate.
Rate law is important, when regarding iodine clock reactions. The rate law helps to determine what
factors impact the rate, and increase the reaction time. Also helps show what factors decrease the
reaction rate.
There were some limitations that were encountered during the experiment, and the planning stages.
Such as, the constant changes made to the method. The method had to be changed three times this was
due to scaling back the measurements of the solutions. The solutions that were part of the original
method would have resulted in 20 ml of the blue solution, which would waste the sodium bisulfite and
potassium, every time a test was conducted.
Another limitation was the trial testing to see whether the experiment worked, which produced
efficient results. Compared to the actual experiment data, many tests had to be repeated. This would
be due to minor

Jesus Creed Response Paper
The Jesus Creed has really helped me to look at Scripture from what I believe is a more biblical and
Jesus centered perspective. While I have read the words Jesus used from Deuteronomy 6:4 9 and
Leviticus 19:18 many times in Scripture, I never considered how all His teachings might have
stemmed from them. I did not know Jesus had amended the Shema of Judaism because I didn t know
there was a Shema before reading this book, but now knowing this I can more clearly see what Jesus
was doing. He was correcting a misunderstanding how some used and understood the Torah. Most
paid excellent attention to the letter of the Law; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just as the Kaddish speaks of God s name being magnified, sanctified and that His kingdom would be
established soon; The Kaddish of Jesus (Lord s Prayer) does likewise. The difference is that Jesus
changes how we approach God (as Abba), that we should love others as well and petition for others
too. So we see that the Lord s Prayer is really made up of Love of God petitions and Love of others
petitions, which we see stems from Jesus Shema. Simply put, the Lord s Prayer is Jesus teaching us to
pray the Shema, He radically altered both by redefining love of God and by adding love of others. I
never knew much if anything about Judaism s Shema or Kaddish however, now that I do it has made a
world of difference in how I view the Gospels, especially many of the parables within them. I
certainly now why most Torah observant Jews wanted to get Jesus out of the picture as fast as
possible, He changed everything. Who was this illegitimate child, as most considered Him, to be
changing such things and making Himself out to be God? These bits of information are extremely
valuable and have helped me to really have a better feel for just how radical a shift Jesus was
presenting to those of His day, something we just don t see too clearly today. As I mentioned prior,
Jesus taught that we should approach God as Abba. It s

Kurdish Genocide
Abstract The initiation of the 1980s Turkish Martial Law gave rise and effect to the oppression and
unchecked legislative actions of the Turkish government against a member of its minority population,
Kurdish citizens. This paper provides a critical analysis of Turkish state political violence towards is
Kurdish minority population post 1980. The analysis provides and examination of the Turkifying
methods used to dissolve Kurdish identity and assimilate citizens of the state to Turkish identities. The
assimilation methods and practices led to to human rights violations conducted by the Turkish
government and overlooked by the international community. State induced violence topics of
discussion include: Kurdish citizen abductions (state disappearances ), state authorized torture, the
examination of the parameters for Legal Decree 430, state detention facilities and response to Kurdish
citizen resistance. The conclusive evidence provided in this analysis identifies the Turkish State
agenda for state nationalism without respect to civil liberties or international human rights law post

Distraction In The Brave New World
Distraction is a useful and powerful tool that has been used throughout all of history. People have used
distraction to cover up scandals, when battles/wars and to hide the truth. For example in today s world
one could argue how North Korea distracts the rest of the world by making war threats so people can t
focus on their actual problems going on in there country. But imagine if a form of society distracted
you from living a healthy natural and real life. In The Brave new world The World State is able to

School Prayer In School
Thesis: The removal of school prayer was a bad thing for students morals. Prayer sets a standard for
the students. Allowing prayer in school may improve a lot of things about the students at school. The
behavior of students would change dramatically kids would not be mean to other students. Prayer is a
action which proclaims that life is more than just saving an environment or accumulating wealth
(Hovis 1). People might think that God is evil, our experiments with replacing affirmation of
humanism has been a dismal failure. The only thing of evil is for good men to do nothing. Removing
the school prayer sends a message to our children, when we allow laws to be passed which limit the
free expression. The Federal and Supreme Court judges should be impeached who undermines the
freedom which this country was founded. The situation has become so absurd that that congressional
prayer cannot be voluntarily read in school buildings. The removal of school prayer was a bad thing
for students morals. Mortality declines without prayer, prayer can shape a good citizen. With prayer
students have something to gain, they can be more helpful with others and the peers around them.
Since prayer was removed from school the violence has increased and grade have dropped. SAT s
have dropped drastically. More kids have been birth out of wedlock. Increased in drug used and
increased in juvenile crimes. Deterioration of school behavior also. People also have a choice to be

The tours started out with an introduction, and the participants filling out some basic paper work. We
then moved to the fresh fruits and vegetable section of the store. At this point we explained the fresh
fruits and vegetables that were in season and taught the participants how to find the unit price of the

John Foster s Celebration Of Discipline
Celebration of Discipline In this chapter of Celebration of Discipline, Foster expands on the idea of
service within Christianity. Toward the beginning of the chapter Foster brings to light what self
righteous service versus true service looks like. Overall self righteous service seeks to please ones self
and desires, not the person they should be serving. Another main point that is brought up is the
relationship between humility and service. Foster says, Service is the most conductive to the growth of
humility. Humility is not something to be focused on, but something that comes when we engage in
true service. The chapter then goes on the list all the different ways to serve including the service of
small things, guarding the reputation of others, common courtesy, hospitality, listening, bearing
burdens, and sharing the word of Life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Don Pedro And Don John Foil
In fiction, a foil is a character who contrasts with another character usually the protagonist in order to
highlight particular qualities of the other character. . In Much Ado About Nothing A character named
Don John tries to ruin Claudio and Hero s wedding. In this book there is a lot of confusion and
trickery and the other character must figure out Don John s plan before the wedding is ruined. In the
play Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare, Don John and Don Pedro are foils of each
other because they have different views on life, different social status, and have different personalities.
The reason Don pedro and Don john are foils of each other is because of the polar opposites of social

Taking a Look at Inventory Management
Introduction
Inventories are those asset items which are either used for the production of goods to be sold or used
directly for the purpose of sales. It is a major portion of current assets and thus there is need to do
careful investment in the same. Different kind of companies has different forms of inventory. For
example; a company that is into direct selling of readymade goods will have only merchandise
inventory in their accounts while the manufacturing companies will have inventory in three forms i.e.
raw materials, work in progress and the final or finished product. The inventory at different stages
plays different roles like the raw materials are that inventory which is used for the production of goods
for selling purpose. Work in progress is that inventory which is in production, i.e. goods in production
for sale and the final or finished product is that inventory which is ready for sale .

Hemoglobin A1c Test Essay
The hemoglobin A1C test measures a person s average blood sugar over the course of two or three
months. It is very important for women who are pregnant to get their hemoglobin A1C checked on a
regular basis. Below is a list of reasons pregnant women should get their A1C levels checked:
Gestational Diabetes Is Common
A form of diabetes that develops during gestation, or pregnancy, is known as gestational diabetes. It
affects anywhere from 4.2 to 9.6 percent of pregnant women. During pregnancy, the placenta produces
high levels of hormones. These hormones can impair the function of insulin, which leads to elevated
blood sugar.
Gestational diabetes can lead to complications. However, if it is detected early, then a woman can have
a normal, healthy pregnancy. A hemoglobin A1C test can detect gestational diabetes. ... Show more

These miscarriages typically occur during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Studies have shown that
women who have high A1C Levels are at a greater risk for having a miscarriage. Fortunately, women
who get their blood sugar under control are less likely to have a miscarriage in the future.
More Accurate Than Home Glucose Monitoring
Many women check their blood glucose level at home. While home monitoring is beneficial, a A1C
test is more accurate. Blood sugar levels can fluctuate throughout the day, so high blood sugar can be
missed. Because the A1C test measures long term blood sugar control, it is better for diagnosing
gestational diabetes.
See How Well A Person Is Responding To Treatment
Diet and exercise can lower blood sugar in women who have gestational diabetes. However, diet and
exercise may not be enough. In fact, it is estimated that 10 to 20 percent of pregnant women with
gestational diabetes need medication. Oral drugs can be used to lower blood sugar. Doctors may also

The Divide Of The Genders
The Divide of the Genders In the past, there have been many debates about the gender gap happening
throughout school systems. Even still to this day, there are many arguments about this topic. Back
then, all there was was problems about education. Guys were more privileged than the girls were. For
the past decades, this issue has stuck around. Many argue that boys are still more privileged than girls
are. But many facts these days say otherwise. There are many people still that believe that schools are
biased towards girls. Many think, That girls are treated as the second sex in school and consequently
suffer, that boys are accorded privileges and consequently benefit, so these are usually the things many
people seem to presume. So these types of ideas have the schools being biased towards girls, which
had now, ... given rise to an array of laws and policies intended to curtail the advantages boys have
and to redress the harm done to girls (Sommers). But these statements that are being made are not
true. There are many facts that girls hardly suffer. There are now many, claims that men are now the
second sex and that boys not girls are the ones who are in serious trouble (Kimmel). Yet, in thought,
both sides of this debate are very true. That there is a crisis happening among boys. However, they are
also both wrong. Yes, there are many logical facts proving that boys are now suffering more than the
girls are. Let s begin with the evidence of crisis. The

Death Of A Salesman Conflict Analysis
Conflict is a key element in all works of literature. In Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman, all
characters in the book confront conflict at one point in time or another. However, Willy Loman the
main character in the play, is confronted with a lot of conflicts throughout the entirety of the play.
Perhaps the biggest one is between his son Biff and each of their interpretation of the American
Dream.
Biff and Willy have an on going father son conflict throughout the play on what it means to be
successful. When Biff returns home from the Midwest, Willy sees it as a failure. Willy has spent all of
Biff s life trying to get him to become a successful salesman and be like him. However, Willy and Biff
have different interpretations on what it means to be successful and live the American Dream. Biff
wants to work outdoors with his hands because he thinks that is the greatest thing a man can do. This
contrast on the American Dream and how one becomes successful, builds up throughout the play up
until their last conflict in act 2. Willy is persistently asking Biff why he doesn t become a salesman,
and Biff says; Will you take that phony Dream and burn it before something happens. (Page 133)

The Dangers Of Farm In George Orwell s Animal Farm
Most believe when George Orwell wrote Animal Farm he was trying to warn us about several thing,
some of those things include communism, revolution, and class divide. Orwell points out the dangers
of communism by putting the dangers in a understandable, digestible cute story with animals. He
shows the dangers of revolution by remind us how some revolutionions just end up being a switch a
power to someone worse. And he reminds us about the dangers of class divide by have a big ruling
class destroy all others. George Orwell wrote Animal Farm to remind us the dangers of communism,
revolution, and class divide.
One of the main reasons Orwell wrote this book is to show us the dangers of communism. Overall it s
blatantly obvious the whole book is just a big diss on communism by having historical events line up
to the ones in the book. Even the animals ideology is called, Animalism. In the book an animal named
Old Major gave a speech on the principles of Animalism in which Old Major stated, Now, comrades,
what is the nature of this life of ours? Let us face it: our lives are miserable, laborious, and short. and
Man is the only creature that consumes without producing. He does not give milk, he does not lay
eggs, he is too weak to pull the plough, he cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet he is lord of all
the animals (Animal Farm Pg. 3) . This kind of talk sounds awfully similar to the teachings of Marx
and Lenin the same people who eventually influenced and stared the russian revolution which would
lead the the creation of the U.S.S.R thenceforth 20 million dead. Furthermore, it seems that Orwell
was trying to compare some of his character to notorious communists so that he could warn us. That is
one way Orwell was trying to warn us in Animal Farm.
Another thing Orwell was trying to warn us in Animal Farm is the dangers of revolution. See, most
revolutions have a change of power from one bad person to a worse person. Some historical examples
include French Revolution which saw power go from the monarch to Napoleon, Iranian Revolution
which saw power go from the the king to the khomeini, and the Russian Revolution. Orwell was
warning us by again having the events of the Russian Revolution line

  • 2. Old Geo Essay As we pick up the exciting, action packed, fourth episode of the saga of Old Geo. Ochenski. We find Ron and Geo setting at The Goobers Bristol Cafe in old downtown Missoula. The air is filled with stagnant current. People stop, look and move to the other side of the street. They all know, that a less than potent outburst, was about to happen. But, from whom, they did not know. Ron stood and walked to the driver side of the Cad. He asked the man inside for the Ochenski file. Where upon he walked back to the table. Sitting down, he asked, Geo as he placed the file on the table, How is your revolution going? Geo., got a puzzled look on his face and asked, revolution? What revolution? Ron opened the file, thumbed though a few sheets of paper, selected one and showed it to Geo. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have been around for a long time and I know a lot. And with the passing of Justice Scalia I m having a hard time keeping up. At this time, the waitress was there with Ron s breakfast. As they eat, they made small talk about Missoula and where was a good place to go horseback riding. The waitress asked the oldest of the men, if he would like a refill? Yes. he said, but, only one, for two cups is my limit. Geo, turned silent, as he rolled his large cappuccino cup between his hands, while watching the other finish his breakfast. Geo had accomplished this task, with four Geo size gulps, of each sandwich. Ron, placed his spoon beside the bowl. • 3. Informative Issues In Hurricane Katrina Hurricane Katarina was a category 5 hurricane that made landfall on the United States Gulf Coast in the early A.M of August 29, 2005. Bringing with it 100 140 mile an hour winds and covering a diameter of 400 miles it roared ashore destroying flood levees and destroying everything in its path, and causing in excess of $100 Billion worth of destruction. It was at that time the worst disaster in United States history. There has been a lot of debate during and after the disaster about the government s handling of the crisis. A lot of people believe that the government dropped the ball and did not really attempt to help the citizens of New Orleans and the surrounding area. This paper will not attempt to sway the reader to any particular side but will present the reader with facts and let the reader made their own informed decision. It was no secret that there was a great risk for disaster as Hurricane Katrina approached the coast. There was a great fear because it was known that the levees surrounding the city of New Orleans were weak and in danger of collapse in normal circumstances and almost certain to break in the face of the power of a storm such as Hurricane Katrina was likely to present. In light of this government officials started preparing for the storm some days in advance. On the 26 of August the Governor of Louisiana declared a state of emergency which help fast track the start of relief preparations. This was also the same day the request for additional personnel ... Now, they are in hiding from the people that destroyed their planet. All is well except, the nine people that escaped had powers and can not be killed out of order by the people that destroyed their planet. One through three were captured, and killed and Number Four is next. He has hid his whole life, and he s ready to fight back. He is tired of hiding and is ready to fight for his planet back. I found this book to be very entertaining and well written. I really loved how the author wrote about the invasion throughout the book instead of right in the beginning. I loved how well the characters were developed. Number Four was developed as a shy kid that isn t afraid to stand up for himself. His new friend was developed as a paranoid nerd, and lastly, his love interest was developed as a strong, and independent girl that was an avid photographer and wasn t afraid to stand up for herself. I loved the point of view because the story was narrated through Number Four s eyes and I felt as though I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I am not personally a fan of science fiction however, I was really enjoying the book, even though it is highly unbelievable. I would rate this book a 7 because I don t particularly enjoy science fiction, but this book always kept me on edge. I loved how the characters were developed more and more throughout the book. I felt like I was in the story and felt the same hate towards the bullies that Number Four felt. Also, I loved the setting and how I was more and more informed about Paradise as well as Number Four s old home. I decided to read this book because my brother had said it was very good, and he isn t a fan of science fiction either. I think that people that love a good mystery, and love a good cliff hanger every chapter, they would really enjoy I am Number ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Location It is located about 18.5 miles (30 km) south of the Avebury site and 8 miles (13 km) northwest of Salisbury, in Wiltshire, England. B. Materials Used and Structure Its general architecture has also been subjected to centuries of weathering. The monument consists of a number of structural elements, mostly circular in plan. On the outside is a circular ditch, with a bank immediately within it, all interrupted by an entrance gap on the northeast, leading to a straight path called the Avenue. At the center of the circle is a stone setting consisting of a horseshoe of tall uprights of sarsen (Tertiary sandstone) encircled by a ring of tall sarsen uprights, all originally capped by horizontal sarsen stones in a post and lintel arrangement. Within the sarsen stone circle were also configurations of smaller and lighter bluestones (igneous rock of diabase, rhyolite, and volcanic ash),

  • 7. Energy, Renewable And Renewable Energy Energy Future Energy has been a major part of humanity ever since the first human learned how to harness safety, warmth, and energy from fire. Today, with seven billion humans on Earth, it is possible that our constant need for energy could destroy our beautiful and fragile planet. One way to solve this problem is to start using renewable energies such as solar and wind. There are two types of energy, renewable and nonrenewable. Fossil fuels such as coal and petroleum for example, are a non are renewable energy. They cannot be recreated once used and they take hundreds of millions of years to form, much longer than the history of humanity. The other less popular methods such as hydropower and solar power on the other hand, are renewable energy. They can produce energy at a constant rate and can be recreated by one way or another. (Micah and Warhol) To find the solution to energy problem, find the problem first, take a look at our current energy sources and find the problems. The first thing people think of when talking about fuel is gasoline or diesel, both of which come from petroleum. Petroleum is a fossil fuel that releases heat as energy when burned. The heat released from burning drive turbines, air cylinders that can power machinery. Petroleum is used mostly as fuel to engines such as cars and planes. • 11. The First Signs Of Music Therapy Essay The use of music for therapy has been seen to exist for almost as long as the start of therapy itself. At around 400 B.C., Hippocrates, a Greek physician known for his tremendous contributions to modern medicine, was shown to be the first human to use music as a way to therapeutically treat mental patients. Since then, records of other civilizations such as the Egyptians, Arabians, and even the Native Americans show signs of the use of music in medicine. This form of therapy was said to help align the soul and the body together. However, it was not until the 18th century that researchers have studied how music affects the nerves themselves (Gouk, 2004). The first signs of music therapy used in the modern world were predominantly in the United Kingdom after World War I (Degmecic, 2005). Musicians played to war veterans suffering from both mental and physical trauma to help alleviate their pain. As these veterans were seen having positive responses to the music played, doctors hired more musicians to help play at veteran hospitals. Seeing the positive feedback and recovery of the veterans prompted the use of music therapy to become an actual academic curriculum taught in college courses. Currently, the leading organization that focuses primarily on music therapy is the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) which was formed in 1998. Their team of music therapists has helped countless of patients improve both their physical and emotional help with the use of music. Music ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Jordan, seeks to provide evidence that global climate change caused by global warming is currently in affect and requires immediate attention and action. Jordan claims that the Earth s climate has been undergoing significant and alarming changes for the past thirty years. He provided evidence based on observations, theoretical models, and calculations made by other researchers. The article addressed the increase in temperature over the years and claimed 2005 to be the warmest year in the last century. There is much fear, as temperature continues to increase, that possible ice reduction and melted ice sheets and glaciers in the Artic, Antarctica, and Greenland may occur and cause a rise in sea levels. • 23. Uncanny In The Sand-Man By Sigmund Freud Out of Sigmund Freud s many definitions of the word uncanny, I found the definition of the uncanny as something hidden, not known, or withheld from others the most intriguing (223). In The Sand Man, Hoffman purposefully keeps the audience in the dark through his use of the letter format and Nathanael s ignorance and hallucinations in order to retain the reader s attention. Upon starting The Sand Man, any reader would notice the letter style narrative, which serves to drive the story onward through the reader s curiosity. By telling the part of the story through the character s correspondence, Hoffman limits the amount of information the audience can receive. Take, for example, the very first letter from Nathanael, it was only meant for Lothair, meaning Nathanael was trying to hide information from the other characters. Nathanael even ends the letter by telling Lothair not to say anything to Nathaniel s mother and that he will write to Clara when he has a somewhat calmer frame of mind. (9). This deliberate action of obscuring the truth is Freud s very definition of uncanny. In addition, even if a character is willing to express his or her account, it will no doubt be influenced by his or her emotions and memories that may or may not be completely accurate. Describing Coppelius as hideous, cat like, and distorted in surprising and suspicious detail, Nathanael seems like a rather unreliable narrator (5). Toward the beginning of the chapter Foster brings to light what self righteous service versus true service looks like. Overall self righteous service seeks to please ones self and desires, not the person they should be serving. Another main point that is brought up is the relationship between humility and service. Foster says, Service is the most conductive to the growth of humility. Humility is not something to be focused on, but something that comes when we engage in true service. The chapter then goes on the list all the different ways to serve including the service of small things, guarding the reputation of others, common courtesy, hospitality, listening, bearing burdens, and sharing the word of Life. ... The Dangers Of Farm In George Orwell s Animal Farm Most believe when George Orwell wrote Animal Farm he was trying to warn us about several thing, some of those things include communism, revolution, and class divide. Orwell points out the dangers of communism by putting the dangers in a understandable, digestible cute story with animals. He shows the dangers of revolution by remind us how some revolutionions just end up being a switch a power to someone worse. And he reminds us about the dangers of class divide by have a big ruling class destroy all others. George Orwell wrote Animal Farm to remind us the dangers of communism, revolution, and class divide. One of the main reasons Orwell wrote this book is to show us the dangers of communism. Overall it s blatantly obvious the whole book is just a big diss on communism by having historical events line up to the ones in the book. Even the animals ideology is called, Animalism. In the book an animal named Old Major gave a speech on the principles of Animalism in which Old Major stated, Now, comrades, what is the nature of this life of ours? Let us face it: our lives are miserable, laborious, and short. and Man is the only creature that consumes without producing. He does not give milk, he does not lay eggs, he is too weak to pull the plough, he cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet he is lord of all the animals (Animal Farm Pg. 3) . This kind of talk sounds awfully similar to the teachings of Marx and Lenin the same people who eventually influenced and stared the russian revolution which would lead the the creation of the U.S.S.R thenceforth 20 million dead. Furthermore, it seems that Orwell was trying to compare some of his character to notorious communists so that he could warn us. That is one way Orwell was trying to warn us in Animal Farm. Another thing Orwell was trying to warn us in Animal Farm is the dangers of revolution. See, most revolutions have a change of power from one bad person to a worse person. Some historical examples include French Revolution which saw power go from the monarch to Napoleon, Iranian Revolution which saw power go from the the king to the khomeini, and the Russian Revolution.
