Fif Fifa And 2022 Fifa World Cup Locations
FIFA Corruption
FIFA has been investigated by the FBI and Switzerland authorities for wrongfully choosing the 2018
and 2022 FIFA World Cup locations. There are 24 executive members to partake in the voting and a
country needs 12 votes in order to win and be the host of the World Cup. There are many witnesses
and documents that the votes were bought with bribes, money laundering, special promises and
expensive paintings.

Part 1: Project Overview and Outcomes
Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. Consists of eleven players each team playing two forty
five minute halves trying to score as many goals possible in the opponent net using any part of your
body except your hands. Only one player from each team is allowed to touch the ball with their hands
called the goalkeeper. It is originated from the Universities of England in the late 1800s. Different
Universities had different rules for the game since there was not any book written with the exact rules
to be followed to play the game. That is how first half and second half were created from the sport that
we know today as soccer. The first half was played with the rules of one University and the second
half with the rules of the other University. This game was growing fast and very quickly became
international. National teams were playing other countries, and clubs were founded. FIFA was
established in 1904 to administer worldwide rivalry

Analysis Of Benjamin Franklin s The Greatest Founding...
Top of Form
Benjamin Franklin
There is no doubt that Benjamin Franklin is one of the greatest Founding Fathers, if not one of the
greatest Americans ever to have lived. Franklin racked up numerous accolades throughout his 84 year
life span and is also the only Founding Father to sign the Declaration of Independence, the Treaty of
Peace with Great Britain, and the United States Constitution. As a man who came from humble
beginnings, Franklin is the embodiment of a self made man. An incredibly driven human being,
Franklin sought out to improve himself day in and day out. In fact, he believed that success was
derived from self improvement. Franklin was a true believer of the American cause and wanted only
the absolute best for the newly founded society. Being the truly selfless and righteous man he was,
Franklin wrote an autobiography, not as an ostentatious or conceited act, but as a guideline for other
Americans to follow him on the route to self improvement. Franklin recounts his hardships and
triumphs to tell the story of how a man can make anything of himself as long as puts his mind to it and
keeps progressing forward.
Benjamin Franklin was born January 17, 1706 in Boston. Franklin was the youngest son of seventeen
children. Being the baby of the family didn t come with the benefits it does now. In this time period,
the youngest son did not inherited little if anything. Unfortunate for Franklin he never inherited
anything throughout his lifetime. At the age of eight

Cache Coherence Essay
A Survey of Literature on Cache Coherence

Abstract Many multiprocessor chips and computer systems today have hardware that supports shared
memory. This is because shared memory multicore chips are considered a cost effective way of
providing increased and improved computing speed and power since they utilize economically
interconnected low cost microprocessors. Shared memory multiprocessors utilize cache to reduce
memory access latency and significantly reduce bandwidth needs for the global interconnect and local
memory module. However, a problem still exists in these systems: cache coherence problem
introduced by local caching of data, which leads to reduced processor execution speeds. The problem
of cache coherence in hardware is reduced in today s microprocessors through the implementation of
various cache coherence protocols. This article reviews literature on cache coherence with particular
attention to cache coherence problem, and the protocols both hardware and software that have been
proposed to solve it. Most importantly, it identifies a specific problem associated with cache
coherence and proposes a novel solution.
Keywords: microprocessor, latency, cache coherence, bandwidth, multiprocessor, cache coherence

Explain The Trends In Current Law And Policy In Health Care
The trend in current law and policy can be so diversified general but for the purpose of this course,
permit me to narrow my response to health care sector and mental care in particular. The government
of today have face with various criticism as a result of changes in the current law and policy in health
care sector, to mention few is the uprising of the medical practitioner on the funding, working hour,
salary, research and development, waiting time for outpatient and insufficient bed spaces for accident
and emergency. The law and policy needs to be review due to the increase in population in the country
and the challenges faced by the NHS professionals. The government established a CPA which is an
organisation that is model to deliver community services to people with mental health problems. It is a
key part of the mental health system. The Health and social service professionals assess the service

Machismo In Gabriel Garcia Marquez s Chronicle Of A Death...
Machismo is defined as being a strong sense of masculine pride, or an exaggerated masculinity. The
characters in the novella, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, are all effected by machismo in one way or
another. To someone who hasn t learned much about the topic, it seems beneficial to the men, since
they continue to be higher on the social pyramid. But, the men in the novel don t necessarily benefit
from machismo, along with honor and revenge culture, and the woman certainly do not benefit from
any of this. This all ties into the historical context of the novel, which takes place during La Violencia,
an event which lasted a decade and featured heightened tensions between citizens and politicians, and
political uprisings. This all brought fear to the citizens of Colombia and didn t make anything forced
onto the men and women any better. In the fiction novella Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel
Garcia Marquez, the author uses and manipulates the men in the novel to give the reader a better
understanding of Colombia/the Colombian culture, machismo, and the theme of honor. The plot of
Chronicle involves the death of Santiago Nasar, a man who is accused of claiming Angela Vicario s
virginity before she is ever married. When her husband, Bayardo San Roman, finds out that she isn t a
virgin, he returns her to her family and her twin brothers, Pedro and Pablo Vicario, take matters into
their own hands to fix the situation. The two kill Santiago Nasar for his crimes and are

The Blindfold Descriptive Paragraph
The blindfold hides my vision. The car or truck or van, whatever vehicle I have been shoved into
smells of chemicals and must. The smell is so strong I feel like I am back in my high school s
chemistry lab. I can hear the engine buzzing like a swarm of angry wasps. The brakes squeal with the
slightest touch. In the background as soft as a whisper the radio plays songs I do not recognize.
Almost as if the words are a foreign language. I can feel the jolting of the road. Every twist, turn, and
hill causes my stomach to turn over the same way a rollercoaster would. I start to feel around
searching for something to tell me where I am. Stretching my bare feet out they run across a broken
down, balding carpet floor. With my wrists wrapped ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He lifts me to my feet and takes my hand, hinting me to walk with him. He is moving fast, I trip over
the rocks and divots of the ground trying to keep up. After what seems like forever, we come to a stop.
He lets go of my hand, I stand there unsure of what to do. Then, I feel him rest his hands on my
shoulders as he leans his head towards mine so that our faces are side by side. The pungent smell of
alcohol and cigarettes radiat from him. The blindfold comes off. Welcome home he says through a
grin. It feels like I have just walked out of a movie theatre in mid day as my eyes try to adjust to the
bright rays of the sun. As my sight returns I see an abundance of trees and bushes. Their leaves turned
gold, red, and orange form the chilling weather. To the left a garden grows, full of fruits and
vegetables. On the right a trellis stands with grape vines entangled in its frame. From the trellis a trial
will lead you to a small stone well. With each stone a different size and the little tin roof tilted just
slightly, you can tell it was built by unknowing hands. The house is a small log cabin sitting just one
story high. There are colorful flowers covering the window seals giving life to the dull brown of the
cabin. A chimney sits towards the back right of the house with a stream of smoke drifting from inside.

King David s Dance Analysis
On Tuesday, April 11, I attended the University of Evansville s Springs Classic Wind Ensemble

of approximately forty five performers. The various instruments included piccolo, bassoon,
euphonium, as well as the typical wind and brass instruments such as clarinets, flutes, trumpets, and
trombones. The University of Evansville s wind ensemble was conducted by Kenneth Steinsultz. The
wind ensemble opened the performance with their own variation of Stephen Shewan s King David s

Shewan has composed music for various medias including orchestras, ensembles, and choirs. In
Biography of Stephen Shewan , Jubal Press claims he has the unique ability to join atonal technique
with romanticism, resulting in music that is much more than mere mental manipulation of pitches. It is
highly evocative and expressive. Numerous critics believe Shewan shows a well developed
understanding of choral voice and properly uses a comfortable command of both lyrical expression
and varied romantic to modern harmonization. Stephen Shewan is a considerable composer who
deserves a wide audience, and that is why his music doesn t fall under one category (Jubal Press).
Lastly, Juraj Filas Concerto for Horn and Wind Orchestra was composed during the early twenty first
century. Like the twentieth century, modern composers search for exciting and different modes of
expression. Unusual harmonies, tonal schemes, and the manipulation of rhythms create unique styles
of music. However, some of the greatest composers stick to the traditional forms of music that way an

The Importance Of Job Related Stress Among Police Officers
As a police commander or administrator, addressing the concerns of the officers in your employ, is
one of the most important duties that you have. This is especially true when addressing the issues of
job related stress. Studies have shown that many police officers perceive the most stress, which they
experience, originates from within the department. The studies have also shown that job related stress
is a leading cause of cardiovascular disease in police officers (Vicini, 2013). With these thoughts in
mind, it is imperative for police administrators to have a plan of action in place, to evaluate and
validate the concerns of the officers, and to provide the most effective practices to reduce this stress.
As an administrator, who officers had confided their concerns to, the first thing that I would need to do
would be to evaluate the validity of the officers claims about the stressors which they are dealing with.
The first step of this process would be to meet with the officers, in a one on one setting, so that I could
evaluate their appearance, mood, level of agitation, and their sincerity concerning the issues which
they are bringing forward. This meeting would be a way of showing the officers that I am truly
concerned with heir issues, and their wellbeing. Once I have met with the officers, I would move to
the next step of the evaluation. For me, the next step in the evaluation process would be to meet with
the complaining officer s direct supervisors and

What are some of the Policies that Brazil or China has followed in Recent Years to Reduce Inequality?

Brazil 2
In the same way as other nations in Latin America, Brazil has had accomplishment in diminishing
destitution and inequality in the course of the most recent two decades. As opposed to the worldwide
pattern of enlarging the divide amongst rich and poor, which has turned into a developing concern
since the financial related emergency. The world is awakening to the destructive impacts of inequality,
on society, as well as having a negative impact on encouraging financial development. Brazil s
advance on inequality came from a low base; the wage crevice between the nation s top and base
decile stays around five times as wide as in advanced economies (Corrigan, 2015). Brazil should in
any case do substantially more to guarantee that its gross domestic product (GDP) development
converts into expansive based change in expectations for everyday standards. Among Brazil s qualities
is the comprehensiveness of its financial framework, positioned best out of the twenty six nations
named upper middle salary. Brazil s business visionaries have moderately little trouble in getting
resources to build up their organizations in contrast with their competitor. The nation additionally

Egypt Mummification System
Ancient Egypt When I think of Egypt, I think of pyramids and King Tutankhamen. I think of
mummies, pharaohs, and a polytheistic belief system. But there is so much more to Ancient Egypt
than what we were taught in elementary school. For starters, the Pyramids were not the beginning of
tombs for pharaohs, Mastaba s were. Mastabas were tombs with flat roofs and outward sloping sides
(like the pyramids). In the old kingdom, preserving the afterlife meant preserving the body.
Mummification began in the old kingdom but wasn t perfected until the new kingdom just like
pyramids. During the new Kingdom, the military also started to become stronger and developed a
more solid form of government. Because of the stability and strength, new kingdom pharaohs
commanded unimaginable wealth (metmuseum.org). This wealth was usually buried with them when
they died. Egyptians believed that you have to take what you needed in the afterlife, so pharaohs were
often mummified and buried with their riches. Rulers weren t only men but women. ... Show more

History of Income Tax
Income tax is a vital source of funds to any government. Money raised by taxing the working
population can be used to fund infrastructure development as well as improving the standard of living
in the country. United Kingdom was the first the country to establish a working income tax on its
civilians in 1799. Initially implemented as a temporary source of income to fund the war to beat
Napoleon, income tax is now an essential source of revenue for the government all over the world.
This report will look at the significance of income tax in the UK since the late 18th century, through
World War 1 and World War 2, and how it has evolved into the tax system, currently in practice.

Even though Sir Robert Peel was not in favour of income tax, he introduced income tax again in his
Budget of 1842 that was considered to be one of the most famous in the 19th century. Peel taxed
people earning above £150, this resulted in favour of the less wealthy people. Also under custom
duties there were 1200 articles, of which Peel reduced 750 articles on his budget. His taxation plan
was on action for a period of three years. But it was extended for another two years due to an increase
in the national expenditure, and also to help the national railways because the railway industry had
less money. When cheaper imports were available, Corn Laws were created which is a tariff on
imports. This helped the local farmers as they had a competitive advantage, but Peel repealed the Corn
Laws. This made him loose support of his party. William Galdstone and Benjamin Disraeli had
complete authority during the second half of the 19th century. From the year 1853 to 1866, William
Gladstone was elected as the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Gladstone did not follow Peel s method of
income tax policy; instead he wanted to terminate it. He also believed that government spending
should be kept to a minimum level. Gladstone reduced the income tax exemptions from £150 to £100;
he thought that if more people pay then there would be a huge pressure form the public to repeal the
tax. But in order to fund the Crimean war, Gladstone

Coyote Clan Kachina Doll Analysis
The sculptures Seated Couple, Vision of Lady Xoc, and Coyote Clan Kachina Doll, each represent
three distinct ancient cultures: the Dogon people of 18th and 19th century Mali, the Mayan culture
between 681 and 725 B.C.E, and the Zuni Pueblo Native American culture during the 19th century.
Each of these carved sculptures symbolizes truths universal to the human condition. The Seated
Couple symbolizes the universal family unit. The Vision of Lady Xoc symbolizes blood sacrifice for
venerated ancestors and preparation of warriors for battle. The Coyote Clan Kachina Doll symbolizes
the power of troublesome spirits.

The Seated Couple the cylindrical and mostly symmetrical figures not only depict the attributes of the
Dogon family life, but also the pairing of male and female spirits in Dogon mythology and the sexual
duality that Dogon s see as a spiritual component of every individual. (Ezra) The Vision of Lady Xoc
is a portion of the monument to Lady Xoc depicting her power and importance in Yaxchilán society.
The shedding of royal blood was an act of supreme sacrifice to gain the gods favor and thus perpetuate
the cycle of human life. (Kerr) Kachina dolls are used as a teaching device for children to cement the
tribal stories learned in the oral tradition of their tribes. The dolls and the kachina masks worn at
festivals are a reminder to the people of all that each Kachina represents.
Gender Roles are a significant theme in each of these sculptures. The Seated Couple depicts, men and
women working together as a unit, Dogon attitudes toward marriage as a partnership of independent
equals. This balanced duality is also a central tenet of Dogon mythology. ( Figure: Seated Couple )
The Vision of Xoc shows that in royal Maya courts, women filled important civic and religious roles
denied to most women in many Mesoamerican cultures. (Martin and Grube) The Zuni prized those
who were good at both traditional male and female roles and those who produce the crafts of both
genders.

Factors That Has An Effect On Conformity
Conformity is the act of matching attitudes, beliefs and behaviours to group norms. Factors that has an
effect on conformity can be culture, age, gender or larger group size. Zimbardo, Johnson, Hamilton
(2014) explained that culture includes language, beliefs, customs, values and traditions. They
mentioned that the social and cultural situation in which the person is rooted to can sometimes be the
strongest factor that influences behaviour. For example, some culture places importance on
punctuality which in turn influences behaviour, such as procrastination or lack of thereof. Indeed, one
of the psychology perspective that psychologists focus on is sociocultural perspective, whereby social
and cross cultural psychologists have been studying how these social processes differ from one culture
to another. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secondly, cross cultural differences in conformity exist when individuals face normative group

In this study, Indians born from India and Americans born in the United States were chosen as
participants. Their level of collectivism and individualism were measured using Self Construal Scale

Olympic Pride Does Not Permit Sexual Discriminaiton
It matter not who you love, where you love, why you love, when you love or how you love, it matters
only that you love (John Lennon). LGBTQ; a growing cause that has been heard by many people
across the globe, Gay marriage and equality is no longer just a farfetched idea but has become a reality
for many nations across the world who have accepted and legalized the acceptance of LGBTQ
community members within society. Some have accepted while other fought against this notion of
legalization, though many citizens have come to terms with this new ideology that has been
incorporated within modern society. Although members of the LGBTQ society and the thousands that
accept the community have protested and gathered together to fight for the equality of all nations there
is still some that do not agree with this notion. Protestors yelling, news reporters capturing the seen for
people millions of miles away, and discrimination could be found at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games
located in Sochi, Russia. This year s Olympic Games were on the bounds of discrimination against the
LGBTQ community not just from Russia s own citizens but discrimination towards many visiting
athletes from the 200 nations that participated in the games.
The LGBTQ community has fought many battles over the past few decades, fighting for their right for
equality, their right to liberty and their right to even be allowed to love the person they want to love.

The North American Free Trade Agreement. One Of The Major
The North American Free Trade Agreement One of the major keys to having two or more parties
successfully trade and invest with each other is the ability to make agreements peacefully and come to
similar terms. Many times, people would like to trade goods and services, but cannot agree on the
terms each other have made. This can obviously cause many problems with trading and is the reason
many deals do not go through, which can impact not only the people involved, but many more people
very negatively. This is why agreements are so important in today s world, and the North American
Free Trade Agreement is no exception. What is the North American Free Trade agreement, also known

marketplace, and a market that is driven more by supply and demand.
NAFTA has many components. Some of these include tariff elimination for qualifying products,
Elimination of nontariff barriers by the year 2008, tariff reduction for motor vehicles and auto parts,
expanded telecommunications trade, reduced textile and clothing barriers, more free trade in
agriculture, Mexican import licenses should be gotten rid of, expanded trade in financial services,
opening of insurance markets, increased investment opportunities, liberalized regulation of land
transportation, and many more according to inc.com/encyclopedia. All these components help make
trading between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico simpler and more efficient. The Trade Agreement has
provided North America with many benefits. One of them is NAFTA quadrupled trade. According to
Kimberly Amadeo, from 1993 2015, trade between the three members quadrupled, from $297 billion
to $1.14 trillion. That boosted economic growth, profits, and jobs for all three countries. It also
lowered prices for consumers. The trade pushed this all to happen because it eliminated the tariffs and
made it easier for the North American countries to come together and trade.
NAFTA also helps the three countries by lowering the prices on exported goods. The United States
imported 144 billion dollars of oil which is

Typical Medium Dynamical Cluster Approximation
We generalize the typical medium dynamical cluster approximation (TMDCA) for systems with off
diagonal disorder.
By applying our approach to the Anderson model we consider the effects of nonlocal correlations and
typical environment beyond the local Blackman, Esterling, and Berk (BEB) method. %coherent
potential approximation.
Our formalism allows us to systematically study the effects of off diagonal disorder on the phase
diagram of traditional three dimensional Anderson model.
Disorder which is inevitably present in most real materials can drammatically affect their
properties~cite{Lee_RevModPhys,Belitz_RevModPhys}. It can lead to changes of their structure and
transport. One of the most prominent effects of disorder is the spacial confinement of charge carriers
known as Anderson localization ~cite{Anderson}.
The simplest model used to study these disorder effects is the
Anderson model which is a single band tight binding model with a random on site disorder potential.
Such a model is justified when the introduction of disorder in, for example a binary alloy by
substitution of host atoms by impurities, does not affect the neighbors and leads to the change of the
local potential on the substitution site only. In this situation the disorder appears only in the diagonal
terms of the Hamiltonian and hence is referred to as diagonal disorder (DD) case. However, in the
case when the bandwidth of from the dopant impurity atoms is very different from the band width

The Social Construction Of Heterosexuality
How you feel isn t what you are

How you feel isn t what you are This is a argumentative essay against the notions of gender roles
portrayed by masculine and feminine traits, from section four of Composing Gender How Do We
Define Sexuality ? The idea that one individual can feel masculine or feel feminine does not make
them a male or female. Throughout Composing Gender, many readings refer to sexuality as an
inevitable part of gender construction, several authors use the terms heteronormative and compulsory
heterosexuality to describe a social structure in which the expression of sexuality is seen as normal
only. (Groner, 2014, par.3 p. 184) Your gender is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
209) The use of the word faggot is the worst epithet anyone could call you as a male or female. This is
the assumption that you are not meeting the un stated facts of masculinity, causing you to seem
weaker, revealing more feminine traits. Bringing on the assumption that you are in fact gay or lesbian
or even bi. It is also said within this passage that most boys call others faggots as a joke but won t call
anyone a fag if there is a homosexual around (Pascoe, 2011, p. 212 213). Though overall no one is
claimed a faggot at all, the only thing that these children used to determine who was or wasn t a fag
was their clothes how they took care of themselves and other things. Pascoe seems that the term
faggot is more of a way for kids to put up a wall against homophobia, and create some type of borders
against male sexuality. Going back to my thesis, these adolescent boys already know the difference
between a gay and straight boy. They can tell when one is being very prominent about his sexuality as
stated above, so they won t call them a fag. These boys are natural, and practice heteronormativity to
prove they are not unnatural or heterosexual. In order to fit in with the rest of their school and to
prevent being called a faggot. In Sandra Bem s essay On Judith Butler she analyzes Judith Butler s

Human resource Sergeants responsibility for profession of arms is one of the most important values
we have. To better understand the importance of the profession of arms; I will explain the meaning of
profession of arms. The profession includes key factors which are expertise, trust, development,
values, and service. Each factor is what makes profession of arms attainable. One way to excel at the
profession of arms is to do what is best for the United States. We serve the people of the United States
and we are implementing services that we are trained and ready to provide them. Some of which
include protecting the United States and its allies from terrorists to national disasters. We are there for
them and we will support their decisions. The trust factor; not only must we look out for the interest of
the United States but earn their trust as well. Trust is not easily given and we have to put in the effort
to demonstrate that we are there for them.
Development factor involves training and education. Professionals are knowledgeable in their career

Felipe Guaman De Ayala s Drawings and the Wider Purpose...
Felipe Guaman Poma de Ayala was an ethnic Andean, deeply inspired by the injustice of the colonial
regime, he wrote a massive manuscript in 1615 about the history of the Inca Empire to the King of
Spain. His masterpiece includes 1,200 pages, of which 398 were images full of details, that are clearly
considered by the artist to be the most direct and effective way of communicating his ideas to the
audience. Felipe de Ayala focused on the conflicts between the settlers and the natives to reveal, in his
powerful drawings, his wider purpose of a desire for a colonial reformation that will bring stability
and justice to the Andean people. Two major reasons that motivated Ayala to write the manuscript are
broadly seen in his drawings: the first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This incident was a major motivation for Guaman Poma to write the manuscript and change his
believes in the Church, because he felt no support from the colonial regime. Before being convicted,
Guaman Poma was serving and protecting the Church as an interpreter of a visitador or inspector
named Cristobal de Albornoz. He helped to identify and capture practitioners of native religion during
the first campaigns to stop idolatry. He gives proof of this fact, by picturing Albornoz supervising the
punishment of a native Andean (Figure 1). The Andean has an image, of himself playing with the
devil, on top of his head, which represents idolization. He shows his fear towards the Spaniards by
being in a state of shock and crying as if he is innocent. The other Andean that is getting instructions
from the priest is a member of the inspection team. He seems very determined and supportive of the
Church and feels no sorrow for punishing the native. Guaman Poma approved the fight against
idolatry because in his drawings, the Andean inspectors always fight against their own tradition and
religion by protecting the Church. Another important issue that Guaman Poma supported is
evangelization of the Andean people. His vivid drawings and issues suggest that he pressed on the
need of evangelization (Figure 2). For example in this figure, an Andean woman is terrified by these
animals and forced to become a Christian. Her fear is

Coloration In The Wizard Of Oz
In L. Frank Baum s The Wizard of Oz, the coloration throughout the Land of Oz is quite important.
Perhaps Baum used varying color themes as a metaphor for ethnicity; if so, this demonstrates that the

Diamond describes (in his renowned novel, Guns, Germs, and Steel ) as having used fear as a weapon,
in conjunction with the unseen and misunderstood force of disease (this could be a metaphor for
magic).

The Life Style of The Platypus Essay
The platypus is a very unique and interesting mammal. It is only one of five species
on Earth in the order Monotremata. The order Monotremata is the order that lays eggs.
The platypus is the only egg laying mammal known to this day ( The Amazing

time. The female lays the eggs in a hole that is specifically made for laying the eggs. The
male platypus becomes more active during breeding time compared to his every day

opens its eyes above water so it can detect movement on the riverbank. The platypus can hear
very similar to the way humans hear. They are very sensitive to low frequencies that humans
cannot hear ( DPIPWE Platypus in Tasmania ). The platypus is about the size of a normal cat.
They are between thirty and sixty centimeters long, and they weigh two to four pounds. The tail
of the platypus is just used to store fat instead of used for swimming. Also, the platypus has to
keep swimming in order to stay underwater or else they would float ( Platypus facts Duck billed

The lifestyle of the platypus is very simple because the platypus does the same thing nearly
every day. They spend nearly twelve hours a day searching for food in the water. The platypus
can eat its own body weight in just one night! The reproduction stage of the platypus is quite
simple. The two mate underwater, and the female lays her eggs in the burrow made for the eggs.
The eggs usually hatch after one month, and the young suck on mammary glands on the mother s
stomach for their milk ( Platypus Facts ). The young ones suck on mammary glands because
the mother lacks nipples ( Platypus facts, Information, Pictures ). Since the platypus is
underwater most of the time, its food is an easy guess. They eat

Almost all religions of the world promote and encourage honesty. Since the purpose of this paper is
not to discuss this paper with regard to religious types, therefore, it is just to mention here that all
religions of the world encourage honesty in all affairs of life. If one person behaves and acts in an
honest manner, then he will ultimately be rewarded either in a direct way or some indirect way. The
individual will get benefit by adopting the characteristic of honesty.
If one person is not honest, then he may have to speak several lies throughout his life. He will have to
speak lies in order to hide other lies. As a result, the chain of lies will continue that will ultimately
result in personal as well as a religious loss for the individual. Similarly, if an individual speaks the
truth and does not lie with others, then he will be rewarded in either way. Therefore, it can be said that
the people should not lie with others.
One part of honesty means to act in a certain way towards other. However, another part of the
definition of honesty means to treat others in a way you expect others to treat you. Similarly, this
definition of honesty means to be honest with yourself. If you consider yourself in a situation while
treating other, then it is more likely to be treated in a more lively, ethical and honest

The Cage Of Poverty In Marigolds By Eugenia Collier
The Cage of Poverty In the short story Marigolds , the author, Eugenia Collier, uses several key events
throughout the short story to represent the unseen cage that the main character, Lizabeth, is trapped in,
and ultimately breaks. The story is set in a shanty town, likely taking place during the Great
Depression. Throughout the story, Lizabeth goes through a difficult stage in life, a stage in which she
is in conflict about whether she wants to be a carefree, innocent child, or an educated, compassionate
adult. The climax of the story, when Lizabeth tears and rips up Miss Lottie s marigolds, is such an
emotional moment for Lizabeth that she finally completes her transition to adulthood, understands her
endless cycle of poverty, and breaks the final bar of the cage. The author uses a seemingly endless
cycle of poverty to emphasize the cage in which the characters are trapped. As Lizabeth muses over
her childhood, she recalls the daily cycle of how each morning our mother and father trudged wearily
down the dirt road and around the bend, she to her domestic job, he to his daily unsuccessful quest for
work. (1). Every morning began the same way, passed the same way, and ended the same way.
Lizabeth feels trapped, forced to go through the same series of events for what seems to be the rest of
her life, with the same people, in the same place. When the author pairs this with the dusty setting of
the town and the time placement of the Great Depression, it creates an effect of hopelessness for the
first part of the story. This is only furthered by Lizabeth continually returning to the idea that Poverty
was the cage in which we were all trapped. (1). Lizabeth opens the story by first giving a description
of her hometown as dusty , remembering the poverty and hopelessness. She then continues by
referring to the cage of not having enough money, and the cycle that it put them through, and ends by
alluding to her future being limited to her poverty. As the story progresses, so does Lizabeth. Having
entered a difficult stage of her identity, Lizabeth is unsure of whether to be an innocent, carefree child,
or to be a knowledgeable, aware adult. She begins to sense a change in the coming, and a feeling of

Pros And Cons Of Job Design In The Workplace
When looking at job design in the workplace, we know it is an enhancement in job satisfaction, that
will improve quality and to reduce employee problems in the workforce. It is also referred to as a task
or a work design that is the fundamental of human resources in the management of organizations Job
design is the main part in organizations tasks to groups and individuals with in the business world.
There are core dimensions in job design that are skill variety, task identity, task signification,
autonomy, and feedback. We use these dimensions to better understand which job designs that better
suit organizations when deciding to work in group/teams or simply working independently. A
successful job design whether in groups or individuals will result in a higher and increased
performance and productivity. Overall, there are three broad factors that affect the job design that are
organizational factors (work nature, workflow, and practices/ergonomics), environmental factors
(employee availability/abilities and the socio economics and cultural expectations), and finally
behavioral factors (factors of human need: autonomy, feedback, diversity, and the use of
skills/abilities). As reading through different material there are many pros and cons in whether
deciding if all jobs should be designed around groups rather than individual based organizations.

Little Bighorn Battle Analysis
The Battle of the Little Bighorn River, which took stage on the 25th and 26th of June 1876, was
known to the Lakota as the Battle of the Greasy Grass. This Battle was also one of the last important
stands of the American Indians against the United States of America. The Battle took place in the
Montana Territory between the combined Indian tribes of the Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and
Arapaho tribes. These Indian tribes led by Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse and other Indian leaders battled
the Seventh Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army. The Indian forces were victorious during
this battle where they faced their much smaller in number opponent led by General George Armstrong
Custer. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the events that led to the conflict, the environment of
the battle ground, the disposition and composition of each side, actions, inactions taken as well as the

to reservations. The United States Government claimed a large portion of their lands for other uses but
did grant the plain Indians with an area exclusive to them known as the Great Sioux Reservation,
established by the treaty of 1868. It also allowed them hunting ground and grazing land for the
Buffalo outside the reservation.

Emergency Department Staffing
In a hospital, the Emergency Department is the most crucial area (Girija Bhat, 2013). With many
challenges, the Emergency Department must operate efficiently in an effort to deliver quality care in a
timely manner while meeting the patient demand based on volume size (Richard Jarvis, 2016). If there
is an unbalanced match with the patient demand with the Emergency Department capacity and staffing
to deliver care within a timely manner, it can reflect on the patient flow and can create crowding and
long throughput times (Richard Jarvis, 2016). As a result, it can lead to poor quality of care and patient
outcomes (Richard Jarvis, 2016). On the other hand, the shortest throughput time while operating
efficiently with the needed staffing can lead to good patient satisfaction and better outcomes (Richard
Jarvis, 2016). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this goal, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital created a fast track team consisting of a nurse
practitioner, nurse, and a tech for signage at the entrance to reduce throughput time (McHugh, Van
Dyke, McClelland Moss, October 2012). However, this takes way staffing in the Emergency
Department treatment area that can help to reduce additional excessive throughput time.
To improve the Emergency Department patient flow with having sufficient staffing without the
signage fast track team, I will reduce the throughput time, even more using process measurements of a
predictive model, sensitive analysis, and lean six sigma improvement process as follows:
With a Predictive Model, data will be obtained from the electronic health record system for a two year
period to analysis throughput time based on the day and time of arrival to the time discharged. Otles,

Steroids And Baseball The Ultimate Strike-Out Research Paper
Steroids and Baseball: The Ultimate Strike Out
For as long as sports have been around, countless numbers of athletes have been driven towards being
the best, and doing whatever it takes to become successful. As sports become more competitive, many
athletes strive to find a way to improve their strengths and abilities. One possible solution to the
problem, is with the help of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs), also known as steroids. Steroids
first came to flourishing in Major League Baseball (MLB) in the 1970s, when Tom House a former
pitcher in (MLB) openly recognizing that there were multiple players per team experimenting with
steroids and human growth hormones. During the 1900s steroids quickly became much more
excessive and widespread, according to Juicin in The Majors: A History of steroids in baseball written
by Joshua Z. Lavine February, 2013. By the 1990s, steroids had become an epidemic....Rick Helling, a
pitcher for the Texas Rangers and a player representative, stood up at the winter meeting of the
Executive Board of the Major League Baseball Players Association and reported this problem...
Despite the pitchers cry and plea for awareness of the problem, he was ignored. Eventually the
statistical evidence on the issue had come full force and much too strong to ignore. During the 1990s

Adverse side effects can build up over time. They vary depending on the individual, dosage, and
length of use. Steroids can cause a variety of maladies, such as heart enlargement and disease, liver
tumors which may become cancerous, kidney failure, smaller testicles and infertility, muscle tendon
injuries, skin acne, hair loss, depression, and increased aggression known as Void rage. The main
effects of using human growth hormone are changes in body structure and facial characteristics, such
as an enlarged heart and increase in the size of the head, brow, and

How the Rich Benefit from the Poor Essay
How the Rich Benefit from the Poor this paper has problems with formatting The United States is the
most developed capitalist economy in the world. The markets within the economy provide profit
motivated companies endless potential in the pursuance of pecuniary accumulation. Throughout the
twentieth century competitive companies have implemented modernized managerial procedures
designed to raise profits by reducing unnecessary costs. These cost saving procedures have had a
substantial effect on society and particularly members of the working class. Managers and owners of
these competitive and self motivated companies have consistently worked throughout this century to

It is the synergist effect of these numerous strategies that have lead to the widening income gap in
America, persistent attempts of contraction in worker s rights and increased corporate political
influence. These campaigns have come at an expense to Americans and will only continue to benefit
the affluent society. Creating Corporate Value The United States is a capitalist economy. In a capitalist
economy individuals who wish to gain wealth can invest their capital into markets in hopes of future
returns. If this investment gains in value then the investor has earned a return, which can be
reinvested. This creates a cycle of investing and reinvesting for potential future return. This wealth
creating cycle is a fairly simple concept to understand, but wealthy individuals have learned to
fabricate this cycle into different situations. A common form of investment is purchasing and selling
of corporate stocks. The stock market works like all markets on the fundamental theory of supply and
demand. The more demand for a stock the higher it is valued and conversely the less demand the less
it is valued. Corporations are legal entities which issue stock to investors who purchase them and
become shareholders of the company. The risk taken by investors is that when they buy stocks it is
possible that the individual company will not do

Heidi Wilson Research Paper
The Unforgettable Moment of Heidi Wilson
In the beautiful town of Aspen, Colorado there is a girl named Heidi Wilson who was 22, and had a
dream of going to the Olympics as a skier. She has blue eyes and brown hair. Also Heidi Wilson was a
very happy girl with a high GPA, but never really wanted to do anything but ski. The day had finally
come and Heidi Wilson was going to the Olympics, but before she could do anything she had to prove
that she was good enough. That she did.
Heidi Wilson is Olympic material says a reporter. She is beyond good says another reporter.

Augustus Superstition
Suetonius describes Augustus in a negative light. At first it didn t seem that way. The Roman historian
touched on Augustus interest in Greek literature and almost a hunger to understand and respect it.
From this description it felt more like admiration for Augustus attempting to understand what he did
not. Yet Suetonius then goes to discuss Augustus sensitivity and immense superstition. More time was
spent detailing his fears and strange behavior than depicting his interests in another culture. It almost
seemed as though Suetonius was mocking Augustus, showcasing someone that was interested in
everything Hellenistic yet who was also afraid to go out on certain days of the week. If his shoes were
put on in the wrong way in the morning, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But considering that Suetonius is a Roman historian, I believe that is safe to assume that it cannot be
trusted. The Greeks and Romans at the time had tension from past wars and disagreements. In Rome,
Greek wasn t a first language, if it had been Augustus would ve known it. For if he had occasion to use
the language, he wrote what he had to say in Latin and gave it to someone else to translate (Suetonius
89). This seems to prove that the first language learned by the Romans was Latin not Greek, meaning
that Greek culture came second to Roman culture. Greek culture wasn t a priority. So when
considering whether these accounts are real, it s debatable for two reasons. One, the accounts may be
real in the sense that Suetonius is depicting through his own narrative how Romans view anyone who
is interested in Greek culture. They might seem simple minded and fickle, the way that he seems to
describe Augustus. The second reason being that these events could be untrue; Augustus could have
had a few small superstitions that Suetonius merely exaggerated because of his potential disapproval
of his interest in Greek culture. This would mean that August was curious about Greek culture and the
world around him but it was presented to us in a negative way. Personally, because the examples of
Augustus worries seemed to be exaggerated, coupled with Suetonius being a Roman historian, I do not
trust his account of Augustus completely. I believe that Augustus was curious but not too curious for
his own

Can A Witness Be Made To Judge Essay
Can A Witness Be Made To Testify In Your Court Case?
Having a witness on your side could be the key to helping you win your court case. The problem is
that the witness could refuse to go to court to help you out. Your lawyer can try to compel the witness
to testify on your behalf, but there are some situations that can excuse the witness from doing so.
Why A Witness Can Choose Not To Testify
Calling on a witness in court involves issuing that person a subpoena. It requires them to show up to
court with a possible criminal and civil penalty if they decide not to. Once they are in court, the
witness can request that they are excused from giving a testimony.
Testimony That Is Self Incriminating
It s possible that the testimony would be self incriminating, which would result in them being charged
with a crime if they testified for you. The witness has the right to be excused thanks to the protections

A person s mental capacity, illness, and age will be considered for their ability to recall specific events
accurately. This could include a small child that is not fully aware of the situation, or a person that has
Alzheimer s disease.
Testimony From Someone With Diplomatic Immunity
While someone with diplomatic immunity can testify if they choose to, they also have protection that
can allow them to not testify.
Anybody who does not fall into these categories will need to show up to court to testify.
How A Witness Can Be Convinced To Testify
If the witness has decided not to testify, it s possible that your lawyer can help convince them to do so.

The Transformation Of American Law Essay
Horwitz, in The Transformation of American Law: 1780 1860, argues that a commercial elite class
worked with judges during the antebellum period to shift American law doctrine from anti commercial
to pro commercial doctrines. These new doctrines benefitted the commercial elites and forced America
to adopt capitalism over the original moral economy that was in place prior to the beginning shift in
American law in the 1780 s. Horwitz breaks the book up into eight distinct chapters, focusing on the
changing conception of law, a new conception of property, creating economic growth through the legal
system itself, competition and economic development, the relationship between the bar and
commercial interests, the emergence of contracts, the development of commercial law, and the rise of
legal formalism. The first chapter details the changing concepts of American law in that
instrumentalism became popular. Horwitz shows that judges move away from following precedent
around the turn of the century and instead were focusing on their own interpretations of the law. This
is shown through judges issuing new trials on account of juries issuing verdicts that they believed did
not fit with the evidence provided in the trials (29). Juries during this time were increasingly side lined
during the trial process. The second chapter has Horwitz looking back to the agrarian economy and the
doctrines surrounding property, detailing how these doctrines shifted to an understanding of

What would you say about Harry s character?
Aristotle: I would say that Harry s character was very tainted and distorted. His only motivation was
brought on by his very own pleasure and pain, which is not in sync with any moral or ethical virtues.
There is nothing by doing which a son will have done the equivalent of what he has received, so that
he is always in debt. For no one could ever return to them (his mom) the equivalent of what he gets,
but the man who serves them with the utmost or his power is thought to be a good man. That is not to
be said about Harry.
Interviewer: Harry has a Dynamite dream, a vision of a better life that stems from scoring some really
good dope, cutting it, and then redistributing it in order to better himself financially and to get off the
streets so he can stop stealing from his mom. He also wants to better his mom s situation, his girlfriend
s situation, and his best friend/using buddies situation. In Harry s mind he s doing something good.
How do you feel about Harry s intentions and his dream?
Aristotle: Not every action nor every

Barret (2008) explains that depending on the Hyper visor selected depends on the kind of polices that
come with the Hypervisor. VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper V not only have different features and
capabilities but they also priced differently, In fact Barrett (2012) shows that virtualization offerings
are priced per processor, others per server, and still others are free, with important requirements

Using Microsoft (2012) s Hyper V and Windows Server 2008 R2 the basic functions of a VDI

Only one player from each team is allowed to touch the ball with their hands called the goalkeeper. It is originated from the Universities of England in the late 1800s. Different Universities had different rules for the game since there was not any book written with the exact rules to be followed to play the game. That is how first half and second half were created from the sport that we know today as soccer. The first half was played with the rules of one University and the second half with the rules of the other University. This game was growing fast and very quickly became international. • 3. Analysis Of Benjamin Franklin s The Greatest Founding... Top of Form Benjamin Franklin There is no doubt that Benjamin Franklin is one of the greatest Founding Fathers, if not one of the greatest Americans ever to have lived. Franklin racked up numerous accolades throughout his 84 year life span and is also the only Founding Father to sign the Declaration of Independence, the Treaty of Peace with Great Britain, and the United States Constitution. As a man who came from humble beginnings, Franklin is the embodiment of a self made man. An incredibly driven human being, Franklin sought out to improve himself day in and day out. In fact, he believed that success was derived from self improvement. Franklin was a true believer of the American cause and wanted only the absolute best for the newly founded society. Being the truly selfless and righteous man he was, Franklin wrote an autobiography, not as an ostentatious or conceited act, but as a guideline for other Americans to follow him on the route to self improvement. Franklin recounts his hardships and triumphs to tell the story of how a man can make anything of himself as long as puts his mind to it and keeps progressing forward. Benjamin Franklin was born January 17, 1706 in Boston. Franklin was the youngest son of seventeen children. Being the baby of the family didn t come with the benefits it does now. In this time period, the youngest son did not inherited little if anything. Unfortunate for Franklin he never inherited anything throughout his lifetime. At the age of eight ... • 4. Cache Coherence Essay A Survey of Literature on Cache Coherence Author(s) Name Department, Institution Address E mail Abstract Many multiprocessor chips and computer systems today have hardware that supports shared memory. This is because shared memory multicore chips are considered a cost effective way of providing increased and improved computing speed and power since they utilize economically interconnected low cost microprocessors. Shared memory multiprocessors utilize cache to reduce memory access latency and significantly reduce bandwidth needs for the global interconnect and local memory module. However, a problem still exists in these systems: cache coherence problem introduced by local caching of data, which leads to reduced processor execution speeds. The problem of cache coherence in hardware is reduced in today s microprocessors through the implementation of various cache coherence protocols. This article reviews literature on cache coherence with particular attention to cache coherence problem, and the protocols both hardware and software that have been proposed to solve it. Most importantly, it identifies a specific problem associated with cache coherence and proposes a novel solution. Keywords: microprocessor, latency, cache coherence, bandwidth, multiprocessor, cache coherence protocol, shared memory, multicore processor I. • 6. Machismo In Gabriel Garcia Marquez s Chronicle Of A Death... Machismo is defined as being a strong sense of masculine pride, or an exaggerated masculinity. The characters in the novella, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, are all effected by machismo in one way or another. To someone who hasn t learned much about the topic, it seems beneficial to the men, since they continue to be higher on the social pyramid. But, the men in the novel don t necessarily benefit from machismo, along with honor and revenge culture, and the woman certainly do not benefit from any of this. This all ties into the historical context of the novel, which takes place during La Violencia, an event which lasted a decade and featured heightened tensions between citizens and politicians, and political uprisings. This all brought fear to the citizens of Colombia and didn t make anything forced onto the men and women any better. In the fiction novella Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the author uses and manipulates the men in the novel to give the reader a better understanding of Colombia/the Colombian culture, machismo, and the theme of honor. The plot of Chronicle involves the death of Santiago Nasar, a man who is accused of claiming Angela Vicario s virginity before she is ever married. When her husband, Bayardo San Roman, finds out that she isn t a virgin, he returns her to her family and her twin brothers, Pedro and Pablo Vicario, take matters into their own hands to fix the situation. The blindfold comes off. Welcome home he says through a grin. It feels like I have just walked out of a movie theatre in mid day as my eyes try to adjust to the bright rays of the sun. The Importance Of Job Related Stress Among Police Officers As a police commander or administrator, addressing the concerns of the officers in your employ, is one of the most important duties that you have. This is especially true when addressing the issues of job related stress. Studies have shown that many police officers perceive the most stress, which they experience, originates from within the department. The studies have also shown that job related stress is a leading cause of cardiovascular disease in police officers (Vicini, 2013). With these thoughts in mind, it is imperative for police administrators to have a plan of action in place, to evaluate and validate the concerns of the officers, and to provide the most effective practices to reduce this stress. As an administrator, who officers had confided their concerns to, the first thing that I would need to do would be to evaluate the validity of the officers claims about the stressors which they are dealing with. The first step of this process would be to meet with the officers, in a one on one setting, so that I could evaluate their appearance, mood, level of agitation, and their sincerity concerning the issues which they are bringing forward. This meeting would be a way of showing the officers that I am truly concerned with heir issues, and their wellbeing. Although members of the LGBTQ society and the thousands that accept the community have protested and gathered together to fight for the equality of all nations there is still some that do not agree with this notion. Protestors yelling, news reporters capturing the seen for people millions of miles away, and discrimination could be found at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games located in Sochi, Russia. • 22. The North American Free Trade Agreement. One Of The Major The North American Free Trade Agreement One of the major keys to having two or more parties successfully trade and invest with each other is the ability to make agreements peacefully and come to similar terms. Many times, people would like to trade goods and services, but cannot agree on the terms each other have made. This can obviously cause many problems with trading and is the reason many deals do not go through, which can impact not only the people involved, but many more people very negatively. This is why agreements are so important in today s world, and the North American Free Trade Agreement is no exception. What is the North American Free Trade agreement, also known as NAFTA? Some of these include tariff elimination for qualifying products, Elimination of nontariff barriers by the year 2008, tariff reduction for motor vehicles and auto parts, expanded telecommunications trade, reduced textile and clothing barriers, more free trade in agriculture, Mexican import licenses should be gotten rid of, expanded trade in financial services, opening of insurance markets, increased investment opportunities, liberalized regulation of land transportation, and many more according to inc.com/encyclopedia. All these components help make trading between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico simpler and more efficient. The Trade Agreement has provided North America with many benefits. One of them is NAFTA quadrupled trade. According to Kimberly Amadeo, from 1993 2015, trade between the three members quadrupled, from $297 billion to $1.14 trillion. That boosted economic growth, profits, and jobs for all three countries. It also lowered prices for consumers. The trade pushed this all to happen because it eliminated the tariffs and made it easier for the North American countries to come together and trade. By applying our approach to the Anderson model we consider the effects of nonlocal correlations and typical environment beyond the local Blackman, Esterling, and Berk (BEB) method. %coherent potential approximation. Our formalism allows us to systematically study the effects of off diagonal disorder on the phase diagram of traditional three dimensional Anderson model. Disorder which is inevitably present in most real materials can drammatically affect their properties~cite{Lee_RevModPhys,Belitz_RevModPhys}. It can lead to changes of their structure and transport. One of the most prominent effects of disorder is the spacial confinement of charge carriers known as Anderson localization ~cite{Anderson}. The simplest model used to study these disorder effects is the Anderson model which is a single band tight binding model with a random on site disorder potential. Such a model is justified when the introduction of disorder in, for example a binary alloy by substitution of host atoms by impurities, does not affect the neighbors and leads to the change of the local potential on the substitution site only. In this situation the disorder appears only in the diagonal terms of the Hamiltonian and hence is referred to as diagonal disorder (DD) case. Drake Composition 1010 Shannon Ward 17 October 2017 How you feel isn t what you are This is a argumentative essay against the notions of gender roles portrayed by masculine and feminine traits, from section four of Composing Gender How Do We Define Sexuality ? The idea that one individual can feel masculine or feel feminine does not make them a male or female. Throughout Composing Gender, many readings refer to sexuality as an inevitable part of gender construction, several authors use the terms heteronormative and compulsory heterosexuality to describe a social structure in which the expression of sexuality is seen as normal only. This is the assumption that you are not meeting the un stated facts of masculinity, causing you to seem weaker, revealing more feminine traits. It is also said within this passage that most boys call others faggots as a joke but won t call anyone a fag if there is a homosexual around (Pascoe, 2011, p. 212 213). Though overall no one is claimed a faggot at all, the only thing that these children used to determine who was or wasn t a fag was their clothes how they took care of themselves and other things. Pascoe seems that the term faggot is more of a way for kids to put up a wall against homophobia, and create some type of borders against male sexuality. Going back to my thesis, these adolescent boys already know the difference between a gay and straight boy. They can tell when one is being very prominent about his sexuality as stated above, so they won t call them a fag. These boys are natural, and practice heteronormativity to prove they are not unnatural or heterosexual. In order to fit in with the rest of their school and to prevent being called a faggot. Felipe Guaman Poma de Ayala was an ethnic Andean, deeply inspired by the injustice of the colonial regime, he wrote a massive manuscript in 1615 about the history of the Inca Empire to the King of Spain. His masterpiece includes 1,200 pages, of which 398 were images full of details, that are clearly considered by the artist to be the most direct and effective way of communicating his ideas to the audience. Felipe de Ayala focused on the conflicts between the settlers and the natives to reveal, in his powerful drawings, his wider purpose of a desire for a colonial reformation that will bring stability and justice to the Andean people. This incident was a major motivation for Guaman Poma to write the manuscript and change his believes in the Church, because he felt no support from the colonial regime. Before being convicted, Guaman Poma was serving and protecting the Church as an interpreter of a visitador or inspector named Cristobal de Albornoz. He helped to identify and capture practitioners of native religion during the first campaigns to stop idolatry. He gives proof of this fact, by picturing Albornoz supervising the punishment of a native Andean (Figure 1). The Andean has an image, of himself playing with the devil, on top of his head, which represents idolization. He shows his fear towards the Spaniards by being in a state of shock and crying as if he is innocent. The other Andean that is getting instructions from the priest is a member of the inspection team. He seems very determined and supportive of the Church and feels no sorrow for punishing the native. Guaman Poma approved the fight against idolatry because in his drawings, the Andean inspectors always fight against their own tradition and religion by protecting the Church. Another important issue that Guaman Poma supported is evangelization of the Andean people. His vivid drawings and issues suggest that he pressed on the need of evangelization (Figure 2). • 35. The Cage Of Poverty In Marigolds By Eugenia Collier The Cage of Poverty In the short story Marigolds , the author, Eugenia Collier, uses several key events throughout the short story to represent the unseen cage that the main character, Lizabeth, is trapped in, and ultimately breaks. The story is set in a shanty town, likely taking place during the Great Depression. Throughout the story, Lizabeth goes through a difficult stage in life, a stage in which she is in conflict about whether she wants to be a carefree, innocent child, or an educated, compassionate adult. The climax of the story, when Lizabeth tears and rips up Miss Lottie s marigolds, is such an emotional moment for Lizabeth that she finally completes her transition to adulthood, understands her endless cycle of poverty, and breaks the final bar of the cage. The author uses a seemingly endless cycle of poverty to emphasize the cage in which the characters are trapped. As Lizabeth muses over her childhood, she recalls the daily cycle of how each morning our mother and father trudged wearily down the dirt road and around the bend, she to her domestic job, he to his daily unsuccessful quest for work. (1). Every morning began the same way, passed the same way, and ended the same way. Lizabeth feels trapped, forced to go through the same series of events for what seems to be the rest of her life, with the same people, in the same place. When the author pairs this with the dusty setting of the town and the time placement of the Great Depression, it creates an effect of hopelessness for the first part of the story. This is only furthered by Lizabeth continually returning to the idea that Poverty was the cage in which we were all trapped. (1). Lizabeth opens the story by first giving a description of her hometown as dusty , remembering the poverty and hopelessness. She then continues by referring to the cage of not having enough money, and the cycle that it put them through, and ends by alluding to her future being limited to her poverty. As the story progresses, so does Lizabeth. Having entered a difficult stage of her identity, Lizabeth is unsure of whether to be an innocent, carefree child, or to be a knowledgeable, aware adult. To improve the Emergency Department patient flow with having sufficient staffing without the signage fast track team, I will reduce the throughput time, even more using process measurements of a predictive model, sensitive analysis, and lean six sigma improvement process as follows: With a Predictive Model, data will be obtained from the electronic health record system for a two year period to analysis throughput time based on the day and time of arrival to the time discharged. It is the synergist effect of these numerous strategies that have lead to the widening income gap in America, persistent attempts of contraction in worker s rights and increased corporate political influence. These campaigns have come at an expense to Americans and will only continue to benefit the affluent society. Creating Corporate Value The United States is a capitalist economy. In a capitalist economy individuals who wish to gain wealth can invest their capital into markets in hopes of future returns. If this investment gains in value then the investor has earned a return, which can be reinvested. This creates a cycle of investing and reinvesting for potential future return. This wealth creating cycle is a fairly simple concept to understand, but wealthy individuals have learned to fabricate this cycle into different situations. A common form of investment is purchasing and selling of corporate stocks. The stock market works like all markets on the fundamental theory of supply and demand. The more demand for a stock the higher it is valued and conversely the less demand the less it is valued. Corporations are legal entities which issue stock to investors who purchase them and become shareholders of the company. The risk taken by investors is that when they buy stocks it is possible that the individual company will not do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. Augustus Superstition Suetonius describes Augustus in a negative light. At first it didn t seem that way. The Roman historian touched on Augustus interest in Greek literature and almost a hunger to understand and respect it. From this description it felt more like admiration for Augustus attempting to understand what he did not. Yet Suetonius then goes to discuss Augustus sensitivity and immense superstition. More time was spent detailing his fears and strange behavior than depicting his interests in another culture. It almost seemed as though Suetonius was mocking Augustus, showcasing someone that was interested in everything Hellenistic yet who was also afraid to go out on certain days of the week. If his shoes were put on in the wrong way in the morning, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But considering that Suetonius is a Roman historian, I believe that is safe to assume that it cannot be trusted. The Greeks and Romans at the time had tension from past wars and disagreements. In Rome, Greek wasn t a first language, if it had been Augustus would ve known it. For if he had occasion to use the language, he wrote what he had to say in Latin and gave it to someone else to translate (Suetonius 89). This seems to prove that the first language learned by the Romans was Latin not Greek, meaning that Greek culture came second to Roman culture. Greek culture wasn t a priority. So when considering whether these accounts are real, it s debatable for two reasons. One, the accounts may be real in the sense that Suetonius is depicting through his own narrative how Romans view anyone who is interested in Greek culture. They might seem simple minded and fickle, the way that he seems to describe Augustus. The second reason being that these events could be untrue; Augustus could have had a few small superstitions that Suetonius merely exaggerated because of his potential disapproval of his interest in Greek culture. This would mean that August was curious about Greek culture and the world around him but it was presented to us in a negative way. Personally, because the examples of Augustus worries seemed to be exaggerated, coupled with Suetonius being a Roman historian, I do not trust his account of Augustus completely. I believe that Augustus was curious but not too curious for his own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 50. The Transformation Of American Law Essay Horwitz, in The Transformation of American Law: 1780 1860, argues that a commercial elite class worked with judges during the antebellum period to shift American law doctrine from anti commercial to pro commercial doctrines. These new doctrines benefitted the commercial elites and forced America to adopt capitalism over the original moral economy that was in place prior to the beginning shift in American law in the 1780 s. Horwitz breaks the book up into eight distinct chapters, focusing on the changing conception of law, a new conception of property, creating economic growth through the legal system itself, competition and economic development, the relationship between the bar and commercial interests, the emergence of contracts, the development of commercial law, and the rise of legal formalism. The first chapter details the changing concepts of American law in that instrumentalism became popular. Horwitz shows that judges move away from following precedent around the turn of the century and instead were focusing on their own interpretations of the law. This is shown through judges issuing new trials on account of juries issuing verdicts that they believed did not fit with the evidence provided in the trials (29). Juries during this time were increasingly side lined during the trial process. The second chapter has Horwitz looking back to the agrarian economy and the doctrines surrounding property, detailing how these doctrines shifted to an understanding of ...
