A Comparison Of The InterlopersAndMending Wall
You listen to your parents right? You believe most of the things they tell you because they are the ones
who are trying to guide you in the right direction. Well while most of the things they tell you are good
they may tell you some things that may not be the right way to look at things.
In the poems The Interlopers and Mending Wall by Saki and Robert Frost they show how some of the
traditions passed on from generation to generation can affect people in the wrong way. ¨The
Interlopers¨ is about two families that are in a family feud over a piece of land to hunt even though
this land Ian s is absolute trash. Mending Wall is about two neighbors that have built a wall between
their property just two go back every Spring they have to rebuild it because it keeps falling apart every
winter and between these two neighbors one believes that they should get rid of the wall the other is.
Detail and Epiphany. For Mending Wall the narrator has an epiphany about the use of the wall and that
they don t need it. For detail at the start of the poem he describes how beaten up and broken the wall
is. For Epiphany in Interlopers they get the sudden thought that they don t need to be in such a rivalry
between each other. For detail the narrator describes the forest and how it is no good for hunting.
Through their use of detail, Saki and Frost convey the idea that not all traditions should be passed on
from generation to generation.
The epiphany of the two men realizing that there is no reason for them to hate each other
Over the bad hunting land. When both Ulrich and Georg square off both with rifle in hand aimed
directly at each other when out of nowhere nature interrupts the two with A fierce shriek of the storm
had been answered by a splitting crash over their heads, and ere they could leap aside, a mass of
falling beech tree had thundered down on them. After nature had played its role in the argument they
both lie there struggling to hang on the bit of life they still have left they continue to wish death upon
the other until Ulrich pulls out a wine flask and offers some to Georg, Georg rejects the offer at first
with simple excuse of No I can scarcely see anything; there is so much blood caked round my eyes.

Napa Valley Panoramic Views
Napa Valley is home to hundreds of wineries, offering first class wines that are renowned around the
world. In addition to taking in the assortment of wines, the wineries offer panoramic views,
impressive architecture, elegant art, a rich history, gardens and an escape from the world. Each winery
is unique and offers different features and benefits than the other wineries. The panoramic views,
architecture and art are just three features to consider when choosing wineries to visit in Napa Valley.
Panoramic Views Every winery offers beautiful views of the Napa Valley, perfect for the photographer
or outdoor enthusiast to enjoy. Often the wineries are at a higher elevation, giving the guest a beautiful
view of the rolling hills, large vineyards and blue skies of the Napa Valley. Because of the elevated
view, some wineries offer a more unique view than others. Chappellet Vineyard, at an elevation of
1,800 feet, offers views of the forest, meadows and Lake Hennessey. Sterling Vineyards features an
aerial tram that takes guests up to the winery, offering picturesque views on the trip. ... Show more

Bounce Temperature Investigation
3.0 Analysis and Discussion
3.1 Discussion/Analysis
This report aimed to investigate the relationship between the air pressure in a ball and the bounce
height of the ball as well as the material of a ball and the bounce height of the ball. The data collected
supports the two aims and hypotheses mentioned previously in Stage 1.
The strong trend (all R^2 values above 0.9) shown in Graph 2 (see 2.3 Results) of how air pressure
affects the bounce height of the ball is: as the air pressure of a ball increases, the coefficient of
restitution increases at a decreasing rate thus forming a logarithm relationship. Unfortunately, the
logarithm relationship cannot be confirmed and proved as the data has not been linearised due to the
lack of mathematical knowledge and an insufficient number of tests to fully determine the trend.
Although, it is also likely that a more complex relationship may be involved between the air pressure
and bounce height. A possible asymptotic relationship can be considered rather than a logarithmic ...

The wind speed of the location chosen for this investigation was not suitable enough for a fair test as
speed of the air molecules constantly changed. Instead of an outdoor location, a science lab or
classroom with fans turned off and windows closed would be a more suitable location as the air
movement around the ball would be less of a problem. Furthermore, instead of holding the iPad
camera, a desk or book/s can be used to support and position the camera so that the angle and height
of where the camera is filming is kept constant. A higher quality camera can also be used so that
clearer and more frames can be captured during the process. A final major recommendation would be
to keep the size of the ball constant so that a more consistent amount of air resistance is acting on the
balls being

Compare And Contrast Ottoman And Safavid Empires
The Gunpowder Empires: A Comparison of the Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal Empires The Islamic
empires of the Ottoman, Safivid, and Mughal were unique as they were some of the most dominant,
powerful, and influential Islamic empires during their time and were considered more stable than their
Islamic predecessors. These empires existed in some of the same and different eras and physical
locations in the world; the Ottoman Empire existed in the 13th century through the 20th century in the
modern day parts of Eastern Europe, North Africa, West Asia, and the Middle East, the Safavid
Empire existed in the 16th century through the 18th century in the modern day parts of Eastern
Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, specifically in modern day country of Iran (Persia), and the
Mughal Empire existed in the 16th century through 19th century in the modern day parts of Southern
Asia. These empires have had a continuing influence on civilizations years beyond their existence.
These empires Islamic religion was also directly part of their politics, but they still were able to
effectively control many areas with people that did not have the same religious or political beliefs. ...

Political Cartoons
Political Cartoons Shawn Palmer University of Phoenix Political cartoons have been with us from the
16th century to today, changing social agendas and shaping public opinion about political office
holders. The creator of each cartoon makes each one represent his or hers opinion about what would
be currently happening at that time. This paper will show you the start of political cartoons and the
role played by political cartoons in setting social agendas also it will show how they are used today.

According to the Journal of Public Affairs van Dijk (1998), stated that political cartoons are one
important means by which public opinion is formed. This theory was shown in the Journal Of Public
Affairs by Brinkman, 1968; Medhurst and DeSousa, 1981; Caswell, 2004; Chatterjee, 2007 to say,
The strong theory of political cartoons argues that political cartoons actually persuade and shape
public attitudes, intentions, and behaviors . Reported news is supposed to be objective and impartial,
but political cartoons can mix opinions with factual beliefs (Wiid et al. 2011). In conclusion we saw
the birth of political cartoons in Great Britain in the 16th century and on threw into the American
Colony s. The first presidents and inventors of our time were subject to political cartoons. We saw the
use of political cartoons to change public opinion by showing current and sensitive issues that people
are concerned about at that time. This makes an innocent cartoon very powerful tools that express or
changes political opinions. Then as we flash forward we see how theories have been proven to show
how political cartoons have persuaded and shaped public opinions and attitudes. How cartoons are not
bound to be objective like regular news reporting, so opinions and prescriptions can be mixed with
factual beliefs. So we can see that political cartoons are a great media that span time but also
continents. They should be

The Reformers During Andrew Jackson
The Reformers During Andrew Jackson s term as president, many people seemed to be more involved
in wanting to change people s lives and equalize politics. Jackson believed that a common man should
have the right to have a voice in democracy. (Grubb) Therefore, once Jackson was elected president
people began focusing on the crisis in the American society. Several reformers stated their
perspectives on different things that America can improve on whether it was about abolition, mental
health care, education, religious reform, or women s rights.
Slavery has been a continuous altercation in abolishing it or keeping it. William Lloyed Garrison
preached about abolition of slavery stating that slavery does not define Christians. Slaves have the
right to have the same exact rights and freedom as a normal white American. As slavery was still
going on, William questions what Christianity has done for our slave population. In a religious point
of view, slavery is a national sin that must be removed. William compares how slavery would be for a
white person versus an African American and states, The argument that these white slaves are
degraded would not then obtain. You would say: It is enough that they are white and in bondage, and
they ought immediately to be set free. (William Garrison) William sets a growing sense of social
responsibilities by trying to get America to look at slavery in the eyes of a Christian. The American
society today has drastically changed into everyone

Comparative Essay On Who s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf
Researching Edward Albee s scandalous play Who s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (1962), my case study
will focus on the adaptation from stage to film, outlining the issues faced with both the original artists
and my own group as artists. This specific piece of work from playwright Edward Albee is arguably
the best American play of the 1960s (Leff 1981, p. 453), which encouraged Warner Brothers to gain
the screen rights and recreate it as a film starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. On Broadway,
Albee s play had been critized for its lack of clarity (Leff 1981, p. 456) however, when creating the
film adaptation, Ernest Lehman, Jack Warner and Mike Nichols faced other issues regarding the
release of the movie due to it s profanity that would be subjected to the public, and ... Show more

In developing Albee s scandalous play to a famous and shocking black and white feature film, the
studio boss, Jack Warner, was adamant that the film adaptation being created kept the honesty and
integrity that the play held. This led to the filmmaker s conclusion to use Albee s original play of Who
s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (1962) as the screenplay for the film, allowing for the recreation to be
faithful to its counterpart. The decision made to try and stay true to Albee s play revealed that it wasn t
a straightforward task for the filmmakers as there were a process of seven major drafts written as
Warner strove to give the work both a visual and verbal texture (Leff 1981, p. 453). However, it wasn t
only Warner who insisted on reproducing the original play as best that they were able to as Mike
Nichols discussed that to him Albee s text was sacrosanct (Leff

Gender Bias Of Becoming A Leader
Key issues research brief set out to address are the gender bias in becoming a leader. Several key
findings are that man over emerge as leaders in over emerge as leaders in self managing teams while
women emerge as leaders once engaged in more agentic behaviors. One interesting finding revealed
that gender roles did not matter when individuals engaged in social behaviors in fact man and women
under emerged as leaders, because social behaviors were not considerate as leadership traits by the
groups.
The article addresses the gender role inequality in pursuing leadership positions, trough out our class
time on several occasions we touch upon gender inequality, gender related traits and how to influence
some behaviors to promote gender equality (negotiations topic, communications, etc.)
Most importantly I would like to discuss the current gender inequality situation in the world. We all
know the good old saying if you do not include women in your daily activity 50% of your populations
intellectual wealth is eliminated . Although this is a common understanding amongst all in modern
society yet it lacks the practical application. There are ample research articles that outline the wage
and leadership inequality amongst genders but there are no concrete articles or suggestions how
eliminate gender bias. The research findings reveal general idea of what can be done to solve the
leadership gender inequality by suggesting activities for women to engage that would positively

Afghanistan Political Instability
The instability, created by a decade of internal conflict in Afghanistan, allowed for outsider groups,
such as the Soviet Union and later the Taliban, to seize power there. Even before the Soviet Invasion,
Afghanistan was burdened with political instability, which stemmed from a lack of leadership at the
presidential level and a power struggle between America and the USSR for access to the Afghan elites.
This period of instability began under President Mohammed Daoud, who himself took power through
a military coup against the previous leader, when he attempted to shift Afghanistan away from Soviet
influence and towards America and the West. Daoud s political maneuvering was faced with severe
criticism from his main political opponents: the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
overthrew the Soviet puppet government in Afghanistan through covert actions, such as funding rebel
groups and supplying weapons, rather than direct military involvement; these same weapons were
later used in the Afghan civil war after the Soviet withdrawal, which was an unintended consequence
of American aid. In his State of the Union address in January of 1980, Jimmy Carter, the U.S.
president at the time, proclaimed, Let our position be absolutely clear: An attempt by any outside force
to gain control of the Persian Gulf region will be regarded as an assault on the vital interests of the
United States of America, and such an assault will be repelled by any means necessary, including
military force. This segment of the speech is known as the Carter Doctrine and shows how America
became more open to involvement against the Russians to protect their national interests, which was a
large shift away from detente, normalizing of relations, from the previous decade. Instead of
deploying their own troops, America unleashed propaganda campaigns, funded, and sometimes even
trained the Mujahideen groups fighting the USSR troops. These covert actions allowed America to
fight the Soviet Union, while having plausible deniability in the international community. Initially,
Reagan s only goal in Afghanistan was to deal a crushing blow to the USSR, as he did not believe that
the Mujahideen could defeat the powerful Red Army. Reagan used Pakistan as an intermediary for

Sarah Sorenson Narrative
I learned it too late. Everyone s life matters, even mine. Or at least it did, but now I have no life. I was
ready to give up when I took that bottle of pills, but The Angel knew me better. When I finally left my
human body, The Angel was the one who gave me a new life, a new body, and a new purpose: save
them. In my past life, I was Sarah Sorenson. I was a pretty, popular teenage girl who could turn heads
just by breathing. I was that one girl everyone either wanted to be or be with. To everyone, I had the
perfect life, although no one saw who I truly was. Growing up in New York City, it is easy for people
to just look at the outside and not care what is going on in the inside. No one saw the girl who was top
of her class, or the musical genius, they only saw the cheerleader who went shopping every weekend
on 5th Avenue and dated the cutest guy at school. No one saw the girl who only wanted her life to end,
not until she was already gone. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

War Of 1812 Dbq Essay
The War of 1812
Leading up to 1812, many conflicts occurred that lead up to the War of 1812. After gaining
independence from Great Britain, the United States was still not acknowledged as a country. The
nation was being treated as if it were still a British colony. The most apparent reasons for the War of
1812 were the French Blockade, Impressment, British Indian Alliances, and War Hawks. The war of
1812 was the result of many built up tensions between the United States and Great Britain after
America s independence.
In the early 1880s, Britain virtually destroyed the French Navy during the Napoleonic Wars. The
British and French then created opposing policies for the shipment of goods into the Napoleonic
Empire. Napoleon forbid any British ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Americans were pressing on in the quest to expand their territory. Native Americans had two choices,
given by Thomas Jefferson. They could either assimilate into American farming society or be forced

lost any favor with them they previously had. With all of the anti British views in the United States,
the British feared an invasion of Canada. In an attempt to prevent such an action, the British supplied
the Native Americans and renewed alliances. This created problems for American expansion into
Florida because of Native American raids and attack with their new supplies. Being unable to get a

Passionate Love In The Great Gatsby
The comaparitive study of texts over time offers insight into how changing social, cultual and
historical contexts influence the values and perspectives of humanity. Elizabeth Barret Browing s
(EBB) Sonnets from the Portuguese (1850) and F. Scott. Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby (1925) explore
the differing attitudes towards passionate love, and the aspirations of indiviuals. Depsite the variations
in textual forms, it is in examining both texts as social commentaries witihin their respective contexts
the Victorian Era and the post war Jazz Age that we come to a deeper understanding of the human
passion for love and aspiration. EBB s Sonnets from the Portuguese narrates the poets journey to the

year recedes before us to typify the established conventions of the Jazz Age, wherein values of wealth,
beauty and success; that constitute the American Dream, were strongly emphasised. However, the
metaphor he paid a high price for living too long with a single dream recognises that Gatsby s
obsession with achieving the dream is what finally results in his death; therein, Fitzgerald epitomizes
the values that underline the American Dream and comments on the decaying social morals of the

A Streetcar Named Desire Film Analysis
In the film A Streetcar Named Desire , the producers do an excellent job of showing how the film
plays with light and dark, illusion and reality, and brutality conflict. Blanche, Stella, Stanly and Mitch
successfully portray the concepts of light vs dark, illusion vs reality, brutality conflict through various
transitions of each. As Blanche arrives at the house of Stella and Stanly, right away you see his mood
go into a very dark place as if he does not want her to be there. Stanly s character in the film comes off
to be very rough and aggressive. The night after Blanche arrived, she meets Stanly s friend Mitch,
who is different from Stanly just by the way he carries himself. Mitch and Blanche catch a glimpse of
each other which brings some light back into her being there. Stella was in support of her sister
blanche meeting Mitch as it may have been an effective way for her to comfortably. Light and dark
effects in a dramatic film play a big part because it sets the tone of the storyline and helps give the
suspension of where the story will go and end up. It can be good for a film to bounce back and forth
from light and dark moments to keep scenes impactful to the viewer. [For example, in the scene where
Blanche buys a cover for the light in the bedroom area, it made her happy, and the others seemed as if
they supported it to make her feel comfortable, and then towards the end of the film when Stanly

Protestant Ethic And The Spirit Of Capitalism
In chapter three Weber presents the final drawback between the Protestant ethic and the spirit of
capitalism. As previously mentioned, Weber also introduced the idea of a calling to worldly pursuits.
As he describes in this chapter, Lutheranism has a divinely sanctioned place in the world, but for the
first time the question of how well one performed and their role became significant. Conversely,
Weber does not consider that belief in a calling is adequate to explain the spirit of capitalism. With this
in mind, a calling can adhere to traditionalism since it implies that an individual should assume their
position in society without further motiviation to become more. Catholicism after all was the basis for
the traditional worldview. As an

Analysis of Miss Jane Pittman
In Ernest Gaines novel, The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman, he stresses the importance of
education of black men from the period of slavery to the civil rights movement. Education has not
always been available to African Americans. During the time of slavery education was very limited as
not many people were educated, especially blacks. Schools for blacks were often destroyed and those
found teaching them were usually killed. A lack of education was one way that whites were able to
keep control over blacks along with violence to make people scared to challenge their treatment.

Analysis Of Holden In Catcher In The Rye, By J. D. Salinger
A painful experience can overshadow all aspects of a persons life. In the bildungsroman, The Catcher
in the Rye, by J. D. Salinger, there are several examples of this. In this novel, Holden who is the
protagonist struggles with exemplifying his individuality and isolating himself, not having the ability
to control the way he acts and trying to protect others such as his little sister Phoebe from growing up
and attempting to preserve their innocence. By the end of the book, the tragic death of Holden
Caulfield s little brother Allie had impacted the way Holden acts in his everyday life. Ever since the
death of Holden s little brother Allie, Holden has begun to alienate himself from others and wants to
be different from everybody else. He expresses his want for individuality by wearing his red hunting
hat numerous times throughout the book. Usually, Holden would wear his hat with the peak towards

describes as being filled with phonies, she will remain pure and naïve, just as Allie did since he never
got the chance. This may be because he never got to spend as much time as he wanted with Allie and
he mourns Allies death constantly throughout the book. So to compensate the void he has in his heart,

Hitler s source of power was being the chancellor of Germany and the leader of the Nazi part. Hitler

Spirited Away Symbolism
Another character development showed an example in the move, Spirited Away when Master Haku, a
boy in the spirit world who assisted Chihiro seemed as though he couldn t be trusted; however, the
scene flipped where Haku was shown as a loving caring person. Additionally, in Ponyo an example
was also shown of Sosuke, a little boy helping Ponyo when she was trapped in a jar; at first, the way
the director depicted that scene, it seemed as if the boy was going to hurt Ponyo which turned out not
to be the case, that he too, like Haku was a loving caring human being. From the narrator s point of
view all of the characters looked suspicious, that some of them needed something; towards the end of
the movies, the audiences could tell that the director was trying to alter the human perceptions. ...

Miyazaki shows his audience that both worlds share the same parallel circles; names were powerful in
the spirit and human worlds names identify identity in both worlds. It was very important for Sen aka
Chihiro, in Spirited Away to remember her name because if she did not, then she wouldn t be able to
return to her natural world. In Ponyo it was also important for her to have a name. Another example of
the power of words was when Yubaba let Chihiro, in Spirited Away , signed over her name to her and
then she assigned Chihiro a new. Haku in Spirited Away , couldn t remember his name but he sensed
that Yubaba had something to do with it, and so, he made sure that Chihiro didn t forget her name
because she would be trapped just as he was. Sosuke also assigned Ponyo a name; not that giving
Ponyo a name in the human world would bring anything mystical, but it gives her self worth, identity,
and belonging, just like Chihiro. Miyazaki shows his audience that there was no difference in the

Comparing A Streetcar Named Desire And A View From The Bridge
The plays A Streetcar Named Desire and A View from the Bridge are both plays that focus on mainly
the theme of domination of the female characters by the males. Where A Streetcar Named Desire is a
Southern Gothic, A View from a Bridge is a tragedy that is actually similar to Williams play as they
both end tragically for the main character. Each playwright uses their own method and techniques in
order to get the message or point of view across to the audience members.
In A Streetcar Named Desire, the form of a Southern Gothic gives the readers its distinct build up of
tension in the play s scenes. Throughout the play, the structure closely follows the confrontation
between Stanley and Blanche and the tension starts to build up. As the ... Show more content on

Moreover, as Alfieri is technically the narrator, he constantly informs the audience members on what

Alfieri s emphasis on was , as a saddening case for him and the use of an external analepsis creates
suspension in the play and the audience members wonder what will happen next. This technique
creates different atmospheres to run parallel to the play s progressing plot.
In scene one, Williams considers this scene as the one of the most important scenes of the whole play
as the first scenes generally attract a significant amount of the audience members attention. Williams
also teasingly throws hints and clues about the truth of each of the main characters. The characters are
portrayed as if the play was a mystery with Stanley having suspicions about Blanche. He converses his
suspicions with Stella, trying to convince her Open your eyes [...] she got them out of a teacher s play?
Here, Williams portrays Stella as a woman with a difficulty to understand Stanley s accusations of her
sister. Moreover, following Stella s lack of understanding it is easily preferable to the layers of an
onion. Williams compares Stella to an onion as, like an onion, Stanley has to constantly *peel* the
layers of Stella s brain mentally in order for Stella to understand.
On the other hand, Alfieri is not always two sided and does

Analysis Of Nel Cor Pi Non Mi Sento
Nel cor più non mi sento by Giovanni Paisiello The composer of Nel cor più non mi sento is Giovanni
Paisiello, an Italian opera composer born in 1740. Giovanni s musical talent was discovered when his
singing ability was revealed while at school. As a result, Giovanni was sent to the Conservatory of
Dan Onofrio at Naples. While in school, he composed multiple intermezzi, which garnered enough
attention to grant him the opportunity to write two operas. Giovanni s career advanced from there,
spending time composing in Russia, and Vienna before returning to Naples; he also had a spent a short
amount of time in Paris. Ultimately, over eighty different operas are credited to Paisiello as well as
many smaller works. This particular song, Nel cor più non mi sento comes from his 1788 opera L
amor constrastato, more commonly known as La Molinara. In this comedy opera, three men (Don
Calloandro, Don Rospolone, and Pistofolo) fall for mill owner Rachelina. Issues arise since
Calloandro is set to marry his cousin Eugenia, and both Calloandro and Rospolone reveal their
affection for Rachelina to Pistofolo. Within the opera, Nel cor... is sung by Rachelina with a second

This report aims to introduce the research carried out by Geert Hofstede and his colleagues,
identifying study procedures and overall outcomes. It will also examine each of the seven dimensions
individually and clearly detect primary comparisons and contrasts of this model. Key implications of
each dimension will also be studied in relation to management of Multinational enterprises,
introducing appropriate examples throughout.
Geert Hofstede defines national culture as the collective programming of the mind distinguishing the
members of one group or category of people from others (Hofstede, 2012). Hofstede s findings were
influenced by his former occupation as an IBM employee, inspiring his most significant work in

The penultimate research of national culture referring to the study of value dimensions was conducted
by Michael Harris Bond. Bond carried out further exploration among a group of students by leading a
survey developed by Chinese professors, undertaken in 23 countries. This factor was called long term
orientation, which then resolved in becoming the fifth cultural dimension.
By 2010 the model was completed after a final two more dimensions were added, named pragmatism
and indulgence. The research carried out was conducted by Michael Minkov, who studied modern
World Values Survey data taken from population samples nationally. Author Robert R.McCrae
supports Hofstede s dimensions by believing that they represent a well validated operationalization of
differences between cultures as manifested in dominant value systems (McCrae, 2004). However, as
studied on the Geert Hofstede website, only 6 dimensions are needed and necessary in defining culture
attributes, resulting in pragmatism being dropped because of overlapping of meanings with long term
orientation.
Firstly, Hofstede s interpretation of power distance in comparing cultures is that it expresses the
amount by which a smaller amount of authoritative members of a civilisation agree and assume that
power in a culture is dispersed unequally.

Writing Styles Of My Writing Style
Sometimes when I look at the writing styles of my peers, be it on social media, emails I can sense a
distinction between the different writing styles that are used. When I m writing whether it be in an
email, text or a lab report I try my best to write everything more formally and longhand, which a lot of
people tend to overlook in today s society.
The last thing I wrote was a letter that I had sent to my significant other through the mail. The nuances
of writing seem to be disappearing from today s society, the finer intricacies of the English language
will be lost in a generation or two, and cursive language is no longer being taught in schools, with all
the abbreviations being used a lot of writing feels less personal and more mechanical.

Fascism and Communism were Centered on the Control of a...
Although both fascism and communism initiated in Europe and both extended their popularity in the
mid 20th century, they had opposing thoughts and principles. Fascism and communism were centered
around repressive political systems founded on the control of a single leader. Communism is built
upon the theory of economic equality, however, fascism is focused on the glory of the state and
strength is shown by violence and conquest. The definitions, political and economic systems, ideas,
and the social structures are unique differences of the two. Communism is defined as a theory or
system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, with actual ownership
ascribed to the community or state. Fascism is interpreted as a government system led by a dictator
having complete power, forcibly oppressing opposition and criticism, regulating all industry and
emphasizing an aggressive nationalism. Although the two were both originated in Europe, fascism and
communism are two completely separate ideologies. Communism s political system is known to have
not one leader and focused directly on the people. This political system has never essentially been
practiced; it has just used a one party system. Fascism s political system has one charismatic leader
has complete authority which is often the symbol of the state. In communism, the means of production
are held in common, negating the idea of ownership in capital goods, while in fascism, they focused

The Pursuit Of Happiness By Malcolm Muggeridge Essay
Govind Gharmalkar

15 April 2016
Mrs.Yosh
American Values The British journalist, Malcolm Muggeridge, defined Americans as The pursuit of
happiness, which American citizens are obliged to undertake, tends to involve them in trying to
perpetuate the moods, tastes and aptitudes of youth. Happiness, which every human wants, is the
fundamental underlying quality by which America has built itself upon, proclaiming freedom, equality
and the opportunity to those who seek a better life. Muggeridge suggests an American citizen meant to
be in the pursuit of happiness. However, American citizens who were inclined to find happiness,
pursue wealth, acceptance, and image hoping that it will preserve youthfulness. In reality, Americans
pursuit of happiness turns into a search for youthfulness, in which qualities of the youth are often
sought after. In The Great Gatsby, F Scott Fitzgerald portrays a man s pursuit of his dreams and
happiness. Early in his life, Jay Gatsby realizes that with hard work, self improvement, and an
education, he can achieve his desires, like most Americans today. Like Gatsby, who saw the wealth of
Dan Cody as a thing that brings happiness, Americans today look around and still associate money
with happiness. Similar to Gatsby, who was willing to bootleg, lie, and work, Americans find
themselves chasing wealth for its ability to perpetuate youthfulness. However, most

A Research Study On Global Integration
To start off, the first thing that comes to mind is to define what global integration is. I guess you can
say it is another way of saying free trade throughout the world. Throughout my research I found that
there was not any true definition of global integration. So to define global integration there is really
only one way. Global is defined as of or relation to the whole world and integration is the action or
process of integrating. To put the words together global integration is defined as the action or process
of integrating to the whole world. That is the definition I came up with. Now in my research I found a
definition that was suitable and it is the process by which a company combines different activities
around the world so that they operate using the same methods. Now that there are different definitions
that we can use, there are a couple of things that I found interesting about global integration. In this
paper I will be discussing four things about global integration. These four items are the history,
advantages, disadvantages, and just my opinion of if global integration is either good or bad.
Hopefully throughout this paper you will learn many things that you did not know about global
integration. The history of global integration goes back many years. How did people come up with
this form of integrating? Who invented the term? Who was the first person to use this in the world?
These are just some of the questions that are asked when you start

tough tactics and courage led his men to refer to him by the nickname Old Hickory. He rose to great
prominence in the States by his heroic leadership during the Battle of New Orleans, in which he and
his soldiers sustained only one twentieth of the casualties inflicted on the British, despite Jackson
beginning the battle with only three fourths the men. Artistic renderings of the victory spread across
the country at a rapid pace, placing Jackson at the head of the battle against terrible odds. Shortly
afterwards, the First Seminole War broke out, and Jackson again found himself in the national
spotlight. After President James Monroe commanded the famous general to go to Georgia combat the
Seminoles, as well as ensure that freed slaves did not flee to Florida. Jackson took this a step further
and overtook Florida, running its current claimants, the Spanish, out and declaring it property of the
United States. After the war was over, he was titled the military governor of Florida, a job which

In the present world, there are a lot of options for a student to choose for his education. Each and

Students have an opportunity to plan their own study time, if they choose online classes instead of

The Ideas Of Plato And Plato s Republic
Socrates was of the conviction that ideals are the preserve of a world only the shrewd man can fathom,
which makes the philosopher the only kind of person suited to govern others. He argued that only the
philosopher could effectively govern a state because others would yield to the wishes and desires of
the majority (Weeraratne 228). In Plato s Republic, Socrates overtly took a dim view of the Athenian
democracy that governed Athens during his time. In fact, not only did Socrates have problems with the
Athenian democracy, he also found short of perfect any form of government that was not consistent
with his demonstration of an ideal government led by philosophers, and the government of Athens did
not resemble such a regime in any way. It is worth noting, however, that the Socrates described in
Plato s Republic appears to be characterized by Plato s own opinions, and while Socrates supported a
democratic variant of unified government, Aristotle advocated for a form of aristocracy in which the
majority middle class ruled. Because of political upheaval, Athens was in a constant state of unrest
and instability during the later years Socrates life. A junta by the name Thirty Tyrants, which was led
by Critias (Plato s relative and a student of Socrates), eventually put an end to democracy and ruled
for close to a year before the reinstatement of the Athenian democracy (Johnson 11). While it is
widely believed that Socrates was opposed to Athenian democracy, a reading of Plato s

The Burning Of The Houses Of Parliament By Samuel Taylor...
Romanticism, a literary movement that swept through much of Europe as well as many other countries
throughout the world, carried a spirit, which in itself was a revolt against an established order of things
precise rules, laws, and dogmas. It praised imagination over reason, emotions over logic, and intuition
over science, making way for a vast body of literature of great sensibility and passion. Samuel Taylor
Coleridge was an English poet, literary critic and philosopher who, with his friend William
Wordsworth, was a founder of the Romantic Movement in England and a member of the Lake Poets.
One of his phenomenal works is Frost at Midnight, which captivates a father s love for his son and his
understanding of Nature as an essential part of one life. J.M.W. Turner s artwork, The Burning of the
Houses of Parliament, 1835, drew many connections to Coleridge s poetry, as both were highly
symbolic of Nature, while following the other tenants of Romanticism. While Turner s artwork and
Coleridge s poetry are quite different from one another, the different tenants of Romanticism,
including Nature and the Development of the Individual, the beauty of Nature and the value of hidden
concern and affection all help bring the two pieces together.
The starting point of Frost at Midnight is, thus, a sharp and frosty night, on which Coleridge,
surrounded by complete utter silence and the warm interior of the cottage where his son lays asleep,
contemplates on the dark yet calm,

Nuclear Fission Essay
Introduction
In 1939, the discovery of nuclear fission unlocked the potential of an entirely different source of
power. The utilization of internal energy contained in the atomic nucleus has provided a major

What is Nuclear Fission?
Nuclear Fission is the main process by which humans are able to generate energy from the nucleus of
atoms. In order to discuss the nuclear fission process the role of the neutron must be examined. The
collision of a neutron in motion with a fissionable nucleus an essential pre condition that creates the
nuclear fission process. In order for fission to occur a neutron of the requisite energy must collide into,
and merge with a fissionable nucleus to create a new compound nucleus. The formation of the new
compound nucleus, in the case of Uranium 238, can be described by the following nuclear reaction: U
238 + n U 239. In situations where nuclear fission successfully occurs new nuclei are created from the
remnants of the old nuclei. The velocity or energy of the colliding neutron is a significant factor in the
fission process. Nuclear fission can occur after a heavy nuclei captures a neutron. The low energy
neutrons which are slow or thermal can result in the fission of isotopes of Plutonium and Uranium
whose nuclei have an odd number of

Dylan Klebold Research Paper
Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are two of the most historic mass murders in American history. They
are the two kids who attacked columbine high school on april 20, 1999. Ever since that day people
have been constantly looking for the reason they did it but they actually did it for a number of reasons,
not just one like many people think. There is a number of reasons for why Dylan and Eric did what
they did, and why they clicked so well together. Dylan Klebold was a very smart kid but he was also
very troubled. Dylan was very depressed and also was fueled by a rage; He was often at times
described as a live wire. During his time in high school he often felt like he did not fit in with anyone
other than his friend Eric whom he developed a hatred ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eric Harris is described by experts as a textbook example of a psychopath. Just like Dylan, Eric also
did not feel like he fit in with other students despite the fact that Eric was more talkative and was alot
more outgoing than Dylan. Eric was also a very angry person but most most of the time stayed very
calm under pressure unlike Dylan, but he would rant about his anger on his own personal website, a
website filled with violent tirades against the people who were mean to Eric or anyone he simply did
not like. Eric was believed to be a psychopath with no remorse or empathy for the things he was going
to do which is most likely why he was so okay with killing as many people as possible and really just
releasing all his pinned up fury against the place that he hated most. Dylan and Eric had a very strange
chemistry between their often very different personalities. Even though their personalities were often
very different they were both very skilled at math and even had a mutual love of technology. The
reason these two really clicked though is because they could play off each others strengths pretty well
in a variety of situations. For example when they had a run in with the cops Dylan often panicked but
Eric remained

Failures Of The Weimar Republic
In its beginnings, the Weimar Republic was one of the most progressive nations in all of Europe. With
42% of its electorate voting for either the Social Democrats or Communists in 1928, and with a
population both embracing homosexuality and redefining gender roles, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party
were somehow able to take power in the democratic system. Though Hitler s rise to power certainly
was not peaceful, it did not solely rely on violence. To the detriment of the minority, indifference of
the majority was all that was needed to carry out many plans. Citizens of the Weimar Republic were
not initially ready to allow a dictatorship that would produce the horrors of Hitler s regime; instead,
Paul von Hindenburg, the Catholic Center Party, and ultimately, the once progressive German public
all overlooked the atrocities of the Nazi Party due to the deceptions of Adolf Hitler, the creation of
common enemies, and the systematic pacification of the German people.
Adolf Hitler s appointment to the chancellor is attributed to the Great Depression of 1929, the rise of
the Nazi Party, and an underestimation of Hitler by the Conservative Party. The devastating effects of
the worldwide depression caused the conservative President Paul von Hindenburg to enact Article 48
of the Weimar constitution due to an emergency state, which essentially allowed the president to
appoint a chancellor without the approval of the Reichstag. Hindenburg appointed numerous different
chancellors in the

Grossman s Dependence On The Millenials
If my generation [generation X] is remembered for anything, it will be as the last one that remembers
the world before the Internet, said American novelist and journalist, Lev Grossman. The substantial
generation gap, between the millennial generation and the ones previous to it, is illustrated by
Grossman s quote as he emphasizes how the Internet has revolutionized the way that people perceive
the world. As a result of the drastic increase in the world s dependence on the internet, older and
newer generations often find it harder to relate to one another. Lauren O Nell s article, Sportscasters
mock sorority girls for taking selfies at a baseball game, get ridiculed for being old , illustrates this
substantial generation gap by describing how sportscasters of a baseball game, clearly born prior to
the Millennials, mock and insult younger girls ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The internet was established in 1969(citeAPA) and had started becoming more sophisticated and
popular around the early years of the Millennials. Hence, unlike the adults and older individuals from
earlier generations, the millennial generation became familiar with the technological advancements at
an age when their brains best develop and learn. The impact of learning during the teen years is
pointed out by Jay N. Giedd, a practicing child and adolescent psychiatrist, when he says, Plasticity is
the essence of adolescent neurobiology and underlies both the enormous learning potential and the
vulnerability of the teen years. Thus, as children observe new norms, such as taking selfies, become
popularized, they quickly accept them as the normal and natural way to behave. Therefore, instead of
mocking people of the millennial generation as being addicted to the internet, people of earlier
generations must recognize that the newer generations have always lived in an internet centered

United States Government Regulation Analysis
When the forefathers of the republic of America fabricated The United States Government, they held
one principle ideology above all; a limited government that works to benefit and protect the people is
the best way to lead a nation. Regulations are necessary to keep citizens safe and allow for controlled
growth regardless of Libertarian belief; government regulation is an absolute necessity. The
government helps fund several organizations that the country and helps it thrive. For example, the
FDA, or the Food and Drug Administration, helps protect the citizens from harmful foods or drugs
that could lead to illness or even death (American). They create new medicine to help the sick which
can save lives. Without government funding, this organization would ... Show more content on

One of those various jobs is creating laws that help govern the nation. The law making process is a
tedious procedure that is exceptionally important. The executive branch such as the president, House
of Representatives and the Senate, will create laws that will better the nation. After the bill is written,
it will then move to the legislative branch who will either pass or deny the bill (American). For
instance, a law was passed that requires people to have proper safety while driving in the car. This
includes seatbelts and airbags. These will protect someone tremendously if they are in a car accident
(American). The government has also passed a bill to make the use of a cell phone or drinking while
driving illegal (American). This law protects not only the driver, but the rest of the people on the road.
Additionally, the government also creates the Social Security program; a program that provides
income for elderly people to help them keep their lives satisfactory (American). All of the jobs that the
government impacts the nation and allows for the country to run

The Impact Of Age On Participants Perceptions Of The...
Due to the global proliferation of social media, Facebook and other social networking sites (SNS),
researchers have taken an interest in studying the nature of how people utilise SNS especially with
regard to age disparities. However, there is a lack of qualitative research that investigates participants
values and perceptions of SNS (Pfeil, Arjan and Zaphiris 2009). The purpose of this research is to
explore this question by investigating the influence of age on participants perceptions of the SNS,
Facebook. Facebook was selected for this study due its popularity, as identified by Tong et al. (2008)
as having a membership population of approximately eighteen million. The following literature review
assisted us to narrow our focus for our own research objective. The three main points discussed here
are, differences in the utilisation of SNS and perceived well being outcomes achieved through the use
of Facebook between older and younger users of the site; factors that influence levels of technology
usage such as, well being, socio economic status, psychosocial circumstances and age; and differences
between age groups in perceptions of SNS and levels of social capital gained from SNS. Hayes, van
Stolk Cooke and Muench (2015) suggest that age is a significant factor in exploring differences in
how Facebook is used. This study looked at how participants utilise Facebook and participants
perceived well being outcomes. Data were collected via an anonymous survey that asked

Essay on A Non-religious Contract In America
A Non Religious Contract in America
The religious standards of Americans today have plummeted to a new low.
Fewer people are going to church than earlier in the century. Many people are marrying without even
going to a priest by getting a judge to marry them.
Divorce is steadily on the rise. Today s society accepts homosexuals! Now the issue arises over
whether we should allow homosexuals to marry. And you know what? It is really none of the
government s business.
America can no longer deny its homosexual citizens the right to have a legal marriage. Looking at
today s society, we can see that there is no good reason to deny gay couples the rights that straight
couples have in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no reason why the same cannot happen for homosexual couples. I am sure that many
homosexual couples in the U.S. are better parents than some heterosexual couples. The fact that there
are people that cannot physically have children together does not mean that they have no parental
instincts or would be incapable as parents.
Thus, this argument against homosexual marriages cannot hold in America.
The government of America recognizes marriage as a secular entity, and with homosexual unions we
must make sure that we look at marriage in this way.
Marriage in the eyes of the government consists of a legal license that states that it can look at two
people as one unit. A court of law can perform a marriage, thereby eliminating all religious aspects of
it. So, the government looks at a marriage simply as something that is put in the records.
This decade is the time of the paper marriage. More people sign pre nuptial agreements, make sure
their spouse has a space on their insurance policies, and have their own line on tax forms. While this
seems impersonal
(can you imagine someone proposing with quot; Will you be the answer to line #3a on my 1040 and W
2? quot;), the government must look at the entity marriage this way.
Numbers and legal agreements are gender neutral, so government checks to make

  • 2. A Comparison Of The InterlopersAndMending Wall You listen to your parents right? You believe most of the things they tell you because they are the ones who are trying to guide you in the right direction. Well while most of the things they tell you are good they may tell you some things that may not be the right way to look at things. In the poems The Interlopers and Mending Wall by Saki and Robert Frost they show how some of the traditions passed on from generation to generation can affect people in the wrong way. ¨The Interlopers¨ is about two families that are in a family feud over a piece of land to hunt even though this land Ian s is absolute trash. Mending Wall is about two neighbors that have built a wall between their property just two go back every Spring they have to rebuild it because it keeps falling apart every winter and between these two neighbors one believes that they should get rid of the wall the other is. Detail and Epiphany. For Mending Wall the narrator has an epiphany about the use of the wall and that they don t need it. For detail at the start of the poem he describes how beaten up and broken the wall is. For Epiphany in Interlopers they get the sudden thought that they don t need to be in such a rivalry between each other. For detail the narrator describes the forest and how it is no good for hunting. Through their use of detail, Saki and Frost convey the idea that not all traditions should be passed on from generation to generation. The epiphany of the two men realizing that there is no reason for them to hate each other Over the bad hunting land. When both Ulrich and Georg square off both with rifle in hand aimed directly at each other when out of nowhere nature interrupts the two with A fierce shriek of the storm had been answered by a splitting crash over their heads, and ere they could leap aside, a mass of falling beech tree had thundered down on them. After nature had played its role in the argument they both lie there struggling to hang on the bit of life they still have left they continue to wish death upon the other until Ulrich pulls out a wine flask and offers some to Georg, Georg rejects the offer at first with simple excuse of No I can scarcely see anything; there is so much blood caked round my eyes. and ... • 4. Bounce Temperature Investigation 3.0 Analysis and Discussion 3.1 Discussion/Analysis This report aimed to investigate the relationship between the air pressure in a ball and the bounce height of the ball as well as the material of a ball and the bounce height of the ball. The data collected supports the two aims and hypotheses mentioned previously in Stage 1. The strong trend (all R^2 values above 0.9) shown in Graph 2 (see 2.3 Results) of how air pressure affects the bounce height of the ball is: as the air pressure of a ball increases, the coefficient of restitution increases at a decreasing rate thus forming a logarithm relationship. Unfortunately, the logarithm relationship cannot be confirmed and proved as the data has not been linearised due to the lack of mathematical knowledge and an insufficient number of tests to fully determine the trend. Although, it is also likely that a more complex relationship may be involved between the air pressure and bounce height. A possible asymptotic relationship can be considered rather than a logarithmic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The wind speed of the location chosen for this investigation was not suitable enough for a fair test as speed of the air molecules constantly changed. Instead of an outdoor location, a science lab or classroom with fans turned off and windows closed would be a more suitable location as the air movement around the ball would be less of a problem. Furthermore, instead of holding the iPad camera, a desk or book/s can be used to support and position the camera so that the angle and height of where the camera is filming is kept constant. A higher quality camera can also be used so that clearer and more frames can be captured during the process. A final major recommendation would be to keep the size of the ball constant so that a more consistent amount of air resistance is acting on the balls being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Reformers During Andrew Jackson The Reformers During Andrew Jackson s term as president, many people seemed to be more involved in wanting to change people s lives and equalize politics. Jackson believed that a common man should have the right to have a voice in democracy. (Grubb) Therefore, once Jackson was elected president people began focusing on the crisis in the American society. Several reformers stated their perspectives on different things that America can improve on whether it was about abolition, mental health care, education, religious reform, or women s rights. Slavery has been a continuous altercation in abolishing it or keeping it. William Lloyed Garrison preached about abolition of slavery stating that slavery does not define Christians. Slaves have the right to have the same exact rights and freedom as a normal white American. As slavery was still going on, William questions what Christianity has done for our slave population. In a religious point of view, slavery is a national sin that must be removed. William compares how slavery would be for a white person versus an African American and states, The argument that these white slaves are degraded would not then obtain. You would say: It is enough that they are white and in bondage, and they ought immediately to be set free. (William Garrison) William sets a growing sense of social responsibilities by trying to get America to look at slavery in the eyes of a Christian. Comparative Essay On Who s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf Researching Edward Albee s scandalous play Who s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (1962), my case study will focus on the adaptation from stage to film, outlining the issues faced with both the original artists and my own group as artists. This specific piece of work from playwright Edward Albee is arguably the best American play of the 1960s (Leff 1981, p. 453), which encouraged Warner Brothers to gain the screen rights and recreate it as a film starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. On Broadway, Albee s play had been critized for its lack of clarity (Leff 1981, p. 456) however, when creating the film adaptation, Ernest Lehman, Jack Warner and Mike Nichols faced other issues regarding the release of the movie due to it s profanity that would be subjected to the public, and ... The decision made to try and stay true to Albee s play revealed that it wasn t a straightforward task for the filmmakers as there were a process of seven major drafts written as Warner strove to give the work both a visual and verbal texture (Leff 1981, p. 453). Even before the Soviet Invasion, Afghanistan was burdened with political instability, which stemmed from a lack of leadership at the presidential level and a power struggle between America and the USSR for access to the Afghan elites. Bond carried out further exploration among a group of students by leading a survey developed by Chinese professors, undertaken in 23 countries. By 2010 the model was completed after a final two more dimensions were added, named pragmatism and indulgence. The research carried out was conducted by Michael Minkov, who studied modern World Values Survey data taken from population samples nationally. Author Robert R.McCrae supports Hofstede s dimensions by believing that they represent a well validated operationalization of differences between cultures as manifested in dominant value systems (McCrae, 2004). However, as studied on the Geert Hofstede website, only 6 dimensions are needed and necessary in defining culture attributes, resulting in pragmatism being dropped because of overlapping of meanings with long term orientation. Communism is defined as a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, with actual ownership ascribed to the community or state. Fascism is interpreted as a government system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly oppressing opposition and criticism, regulating all industry and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism. Although the two were both originated in Europe, fascism and communism are two completely separate ideologies. Communism s political system is known to have not one leader and focused directly on the people. This political system has never essentially been practiced; it has just used a one party system. Fascism s political system has one charismatic leader has complete authority which is often the symbol of the state. • 32. A Research Study On Global Integration To start off, the first thing that comes to mind is to define what global integration is. I guess you can say it is another way of saying free trade throughout the world. Throughout my research I found that there was not any true definition of global integration. So to define global integration there is really only one way. Global is defined as of or relation to the whole world and integration is the action or process of integrating. To put the words together global integration is defined as the action or process of integrating to the whole world. That is the definition I came up with. Now in my research I found a definition that was suitable and it is the process by which a company combines different activities around the world so that they operate using the same methods. Now that there are different definitions that we can use, there are a couple of things that I found interesting about global integration. In this paper I will be discussing four things about global integration. These four items are the history, advantages, disadvantages, and just my opinion of if global integration is either good or bad. Hopefully throughout this paper you will learn many things that you did not know about global integration. The history of global integration goes back many years. How did people come up with this form of integrating? Who invented the term? Who was the first person to use this in the world? These are just some of the questions that are asked when you start ... • 39. The Ideas Of Plato And Plato s Republic Socrates was of the conviction that ideals are the preserve of a world only the shrewd man can fathom, which makes the philosopher the only kind of person suited to govern others. He argued that only the philosopher could effectively govern a state because others would yield to the wishes and desires of the majority (Weeraratne 228). In Plato s Republic, Socrates overtly took a dim view of the Athenian democracy that governed Athens during his time. In fact, not only did Socrates have problems with the Athenian democracy, he also found short of perfect any form of government that was not consistent with his demonstration of an ideal government led by philosophers, and the government of Athens did not resemble such a regime in any way. It is worth noting, however, that the Socrates described in Plato s Republic appears to be characterized by Plato s own opinions, and while Socrates supported a democratic variant of unified government, Aristotle advocated for a form of aristocracy in which the majority middle class ruled. Because of political upheaval, Athens was in a constant state of unrest and instability during the later years Socrates life. A junta by the name Thirty Tyrants, which was led by Critias (Plato s relative and a student of Socrates), eventually put an end to democracy and ruled for close to a year before the reinstatement of the Athenian democracy (Johnson 11). • 40. The Burning Of The Houses Of Parliament By Samuel Taylor... Romanticism, a literary movement that swept through much of Europe as well as many other countries throughout the world, carried a spirit, which in itself was a revolt against an established order of things precise rules, laws, and dogmas. It praised imagination over reason, emotions over logic, and intuition over science, making way for a vast body of literature of great sensibility and passion. Samuel Taylor Coleridge was an English poet, literary critic and philosopher who, with his friend William Wordsworth, was a founder of the Romantic Movement in England and a member of the Lake Poets. One of his phenomenal works is Frost at Midnight, which captivates a father s love for his son and his understanding of Nature as an essential part of one life. J.M.W. Turner s artwork, The Burning of the Houses of Parliament, 1835, drew many connections to Coleridge s poetry, as both were highly symbolic of Nature, while following the other tenants of Romanticism. While Turner s artwork and Coleridge s poetry are quite different from one another, the different tenants of Romanticism, including Nature and the Development of the Individual, the beauty of Nature and the value of hidden concern and affection all help bring the two pieces together. The starting point of Frost at Midnight is, thus, a sharp and frosty night, on which Coleridge, surrounded by complete utter silence and the warm interior of the cottage where his son lays asleep, contemplates on the dark yet calm, ... Nuclear Fission is the main process by which humans are able to generate energy from the nucleus of atoms. In order to discuss the nuclear fission process the role of the neutron must be examined. The collision of a neutron in motion with a fissionable nucleus an essential pre condition that creates the nuclear fission process. In order for fission to occur a neutron of the requisite energy must collide into, and merge with a fissionable nucleus to create a new compound nucleus. The formation of the new compound nucleus, in the case of Uranium 238, can be described by the following nuclear reaction: U 238 + n U 239. In situations where nuclear fission successfully occurs new nuclei are created from the remnants of the old nuclei. The velocity or energy of the colliding neutron is a significant factor in the fission process. Nuclear fission can occur after a heavy nuclei captures a neutron. With 42% of its electorate voting for either the Social Democrats or Communists in 1928, and with a population both embracing homosexuality and redefining gender roles, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party were somehow able to take power in the democratic system. Though Hitler s rise to power certainly was not peaceful, it did not solely rely on violence. To the detriment of the minority, indifference of the majority was all that was needed to carry out many plans. Citizens of the Weimar Republic were not initially ready to allow a dictatorship that would produce the horrors of Hitler s regime; instead, Paul von Hindenburg, the Catholic Center Party, and ultimately, the once progressive German public all overlooked the atrocities of the Nazi Party due to the deceptions of Adolf Hitler, the creation of common enemies, and the systematic pacification of the German people. Adolf Hitler s appointment to the chancellor is attributed to the Great Depression of 1929, the rise of the Nazi Party, and an underestimation of Hitler by the Conservative Party. However, there is a lack of qualitative research that investigates participants values and perceptions of SNS (Pfeil, Arjan and Zaphiris 2009). The purpose of this research is to explore this question by investigating the influence of age on participants perceptions of the SNS, Facebook. Facebook was selected for this study due its popularity, as identified by Tong et al. (2008) as having a membership population of approximately eighteen million. The following literature review assisted us to narrow our focus for our own research objective. The three main points discussed here are, differences in the utilisation of SNS and perceived well being outcomes achieved through the use of Facebook between older and younger users of the site; factors that influence levels of technology usage such as, well being, socio economic status, psychosocial circumstances and age; and differences between age groups in perceptions of SNS and levels of social capital gained from SNS. Thus, this argument against homosexual marriages cannot hold in America. The government of America recognizes marriage as a secular entity, and with homosexual unions we must make sure that we look at marriage in this way.
