SELF ASSESSMENT REFLECTION REPORT
CMHR405 Winter, 2014
Harieshan Kandiah
April 6, 2014
Self assessments have been used widely in recent decades. The usefulness and truthfulness of these
assessments depend entirely upon the user. Utilizing a self assessment tool for the betterment of self is
the goal of this report. In this report, I have completed 3 different self assessments to analyze myself.
The first assessment that will be discussed is the Jung Personality Test. The next one will be the Team
Role Preference Survey followed by the Work Locus of Control Survey. Each of these surveys focuses
on various behavioural and personality traits. The Jung Personality Test focuses on four principal

The 10 I got in this category accurately describes me, because I tend to be actively involved in
discussions and trying to get everyone s ideas heard. As a gatekeeper, I encourage and facilitate
participation within the group to ensure all team members contribute to the project. I feel the 12 that I
got in this category accurately represents me because I am always trying to get everyone involved. As
a harmonizer, I manage the group discussions and mediate conflicts while reducing tension. The 12 I
got in this category is accurate of me because I manage the group discussion while ensuring conflicts
do not erupt. As an initiator, I am efficient in setting group goals and looking for ways to work on
these goals. This leadership role describes me somewhat because I do like to take charge when
possible. As a summarizer with a 12, I feel that taking notes and summarizing meetings fits me well. I
found this to be a surprise because summarizers usually tend to be non leaders. I generally opt for a
more leadership oriented position. The theory behind this test has helped me understand more about
myself in terms of fitting in within a group environment. I found that I would fit best within the roles
of gatekeeper and harmonizer, which aren t surprising. According to self assessment feedback on
personality, the key motivation that drives my behavior is to be respected, to be academically

Code Of Conduct, Ssts And Other Regulations
1. Introduction
Tax professionals have to adhere to the rules set by the Code of Conduct, SSTS and other regulations.
In order to perform their job appropriately they have to be honest, objective, and remain conflict free
while working with clients. The tax professional assists their client as a guide, but the ultimate
responsibility of accuracy relies on the taxpayer. The taxpayer or tax paying entity uses their tax
preparer for guidance since they are aware of tax rules and regulations. The purpose of the tax return
that is filed yearly for each tax payer or tax paying entity serves the purpose of being a summary of
activity through the year for the government to access what portion of the activity spending is owed to
the government. If the client is wealthy or an extremely large entity, preparing their tax return can then
become an extremely complex job which will require the tax preparer to refer to the several rules and
regulations for proper filing.
2. Tax Ethics and Professionals Standards
The ethical standards to be followed by CPAs in tax practice require them to know about applicable
rules of the AICPA, IRS, and other statutory and regulatory rules. According to aicpa.org, CPA tax
practitioners are subject to many different standards and ethics rules, including AICPA Code of
Professional Conduct (the AICPA Code), AICPA Statements on Standards for Tax Services (the
Standards), Treasury Circular 230, Regulations Governing Practice Before the Internal Revenue

Blockbuster s Place in the Current Movie Rental Market Essay
Has e marketing and the use of the internet hurt Blockbuster s dominance in the movie rental business
and if it has what will they have to change in their business plan to regain their market shares? This
case has studied the influence of new technologies for delivering movie rentals along with
downloading movies directly to your television at home without a customer even getting off their
couch. It also examines the impact DVD recorders are going to have on Blockbusters main products
like DVD players and VCR s. The case talks about the threats these new innovations are going to have

competitors like Wal Mart and Netflix. With the internet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It helps studio s earn more money when customers rent movies from Blockbusters then with On
Demand programs. There are new technological products out there in the market, but are not as
reliable as blockbuster. In every store they offer the option of customer service to guide their
customers in picking the best movie rental. Plus blockbusters suggest a customer rent a movie for
more then one night. All US households own at least one or two DVD players and can choose to go
the store for a movie rental. Blockbusters provide customers with a deal that can give them two whole
months of free movie rentals for those customers who cancel their services with Netflix or from Wal
Mart.
However, all of these strengths that Blockbuster has to offer there are always weakness lingering
around. The most popular one is not responding quickly enough to the technological advantages of
direct digital distributions, and waited until Netflix come into the market. Blockbuster co brand their
movie sells with the Direct T.V in which they lose some of there market shares. Another thing is that
Blockbuster stores are always out of movies in stock when customers demand for them. With Netflix,
TiVo, and On Demand and the idea of renting a movie from the comfort of your home, it s making it
harder to convince customers to rent a movie from the store. Blockbuster finally adapted to the new
technological advances to be able to compete with their competitors by also

Poland Essay
I write hoping to give voice to the condition of Poland and her people to our representatives. In this
moment of terror, we need the leadership and guidance of our government, now more than ever to
give our countrymen comfort and strength in our hour of need. Our government in London is there to
represent our people to the global community, and in this moment, we desperately need your help.
There needs to be a record of our suffering. The last two years have brought great change to our
nation. Once again, the Soviets and Nazis have divided Poland into their own halves, and in the west,
we are under Nazi occupation.
Unfortunately, the last two years were a series of swift and confusing events. Our allies Britain and

This has made them sloppy in who they choose for filling their quotas and it appears that the Jews are
the easiest to deport given they are living in guarded ghettos. Ethnic cleansing The deportation
reinforces the Nazi s view of us as animals, rather, then humans. Our lives hold no value to the Nazis,
we are Polish swine not worthy of life. But I believe that with our huge population, neither the concept
of the Polish State nor the Jews will be eliminated by the Nazi s heartless actions. If those with
influence outside our nation could use their voice to testify to the suffering for every Polish citizen.
Another reason for the deportations of Poles is the resistance movement that has formed. The spirit of
the January Uprising has not left our people, and there has formed a resistance movement. The Nazis
fear the willingness of Poles to fight for their homeland. Yet, they seemed to have devised a plan to
combat and destroy our fighting spirit. They have started a war against the clergy and intelligentsia
believing that we are the leadership, and the destruction of the leadership class will allow for control
of the nation. To destroy the leadership, will let our nation be open those who are not a thin Germanic
layer, [with an] underneath [of] frightful material, but ethnic Germans, in need of a homeland.

Case Study Of Jamcracker
MIS
1. According to Applegate, business models are categorised depending on what field of business they
are involved in (textbook). Jamcracker can be classified as an aggregator business model (Austin,
2001). An aggregator business is an e commerce business where the business collects and collaborated
products and services from several competitors and partners to form one solid integrated service
(BusinessDictionary, 2015). This allows for easy drawing of customer due to varied product prices and
specifications (BusinessDictionary, 2015). Jamcracker focus in involved the integration of Application
Service Providers (ASPs) on a web platform and also provided the after service technical support.
There was much speculation about the movement towards ASPs in the IT Industry but Jamcracker
decided to take it a step further. Jamcracker s aim was to provide a web based technology that will

2001). That is how they created the integrated ASPs, something that was never done before. This was
very risky but Chandra believed that this would be their competitive advantage. They were offering
customers a way to reduce IT costs at a time when IT budgets were being cut, due to the dot com crash
(Austin, 2001). These strategies determined revenue drivers and potential growth for Jamcracker
which executed with their capabilities. Jamcracker s management team focused on competitive

Robert Peel s Nine Principles
Sir Robert Peel is an icon in the history of policing, just as is Martin Luther King, Jr. in the Civil
Rights Movement. It is virtually impossible for one to learn police history, or study policing in general
for that matter, without gaining knowledge about Peel and his principles. Furthermore, the same could
be said for taking a political science class, and not learning the differences between the Democratic
and Republican parties. However, Sir Robert Peel is known for other contributions, or destructions, of
society s well being, depending on one s perspective. As we all are aware, the emotions and
temperaments of individuals are heightened when politics are involved. First and foremost, Peel not
only revised and organized the field of policing, he also was the blame for destroying the conservative
party in the nineteenth century (Evans, 2006). He perceived himself as an economic reformist which
lead to the creation of the Corn Laws (Evans, 2006). He had the ideology that removing and/or
reducing taxes would be in the best interest of society. Thus, he went against his party s wishes and
removed all tariffs from corn resulting in a crisis (Evans, 2006). At first, the Corn Laws protected corn
farmers, then quickly caused the prices of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To me, the mission of police officers is to protect and serve citizens of the community, not just prevent
crime and disorder (Dempsey Forst, 2016, p.7). Furthermore, I believe police officers making
neighborhoods safe, getting drugs off the street, solving an array of criminal cases, among other duties
shows the public the extent to which their local and state law enforcement officers are efficiently
performing their job duties, not just crime being absent (Dempsey, 2016). If this was the case, police
officers would never be perceived has having acceptable job performance. Crime is inevitable. No

Personality Theories Of Personality Disorders
There are many different theories of personality which scientists have developed in order to help
explain how people think, feel, and behave. The trait theory of personality is one that attempts to
explain personality by identifying patterns of behavior that include relatively stable characteristics
which in turn causes individuals to consistently behave in particular ways (Funder, 2015). While
personality may change due to different situations or states, the trait theory proposes that overall
personality characteristics are relatively constant and result in a person reliably acting a certain way.
These characteristics, or traits, which remain relatively constant throughout one s life are essential
components of one s personality (McLeod, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are key differences in each of the clusters of personality disorders. Cluster A has common
features of social awkwardness and socially withdrawing from people, leaving them to often times
spend time alone. People diagnosed with these disorders often have distorted thinking which in turn
leads them to have a hard time trusting others leading to social detachment and discomfort in settings
that require them to be social. Cluster B has common features relating to issues with controlling
impulses and regulating emotions. People diagnosed with these disorders often act impulsively putting
themselves at risk for harm and have trouble regulating their emotions and often don t feel and
remorse for their actions. Cluster C has common features in relation to increased levels of anxiety.
Anxiety in this category can relate to social anxiety, fear of losing others, and anxiety related to
orderliness and following rules.
Personality disorders differ from other mental disorders such as depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar
disorders because of the defining features. Disorders like major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder,
and schizophrenia are mood disorders relating to how an individual thinks and feels, whereas
disorders like borderline, paranoid, and narcissistic personality disorder are personality disorders
relating to a person s personality and how they act. Individuals with mood disorders have extremes

Documentation In Healthcare
If it is not written, it was never done this mean that if it was not written down it could be lost and
forgotten as time goes by like if it never happened. You can only prove what you did by the
documentation that you do. If you don t document it, then you can t prove you did it. A proper
documentation is always important in a healthcare setting. By having incorrect information or no
information at all it may result in serious injury or death of a patient, that why it very important to
keep track of all information of a patient, not only to protect the patients but also to stay on the right
side of the law. The record is a legal document so everything that you write is memorialized

Differences Between Hitler And Stalin
The Hitler Stalin Pact of 1939 shocked the world, but no one knew what Hitler really desired from the
Soviets until he commenced Operation Barbarossa in June, 1941. The War in the East began with
much confusion on the Soviet side, but in the end, they prevailed and the Germans were unable to
achieve Lebensraum. Upon examination, the different levels of planning and strategies employed by
both leaders guaranteed a Soviet victory, as Hitler overestimated his own forces, while Stalin focused
on effective methods. The downfall of the Nazis in the War in the East can be attributed to their poor
planning and underestimations of the Soviets. The sheer difference in manpower alone was staggering;
while the Nazis mobilized around 18 million soldiers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was common knowledge that the Soviet Union was behind the other powers in terms of
industrialization, and to prepare for a war that was inevitable, Stalin attempted to solve this by
implementing a war economy as early as 1931, which meant that the Soviets were fully prepared for
World War II when it began. Once the Nazis invaded, however, they were taken completely by
surprise, and this led to Stalin utilizing different strategies with his own citizens. After a patriotic
message from foreign minister, Vyacheslav Molotov , Stalin himself gave a few speeches that
resonated with the people, by calling them to work together to defend against the Fascists as brothers
and sisters . After the first few months of constant defeat, however, Stalin decided to take more
desperate measures with Orders 227 and 270. Order 270 from August, 1941 stated that any Red Army
soldiers who surrendered to the Nazis would be severely punished. Soldiers were to fight to their
deaths, and anything they did otherwise was unacceptable. Stalin even proved to be a man of his word
as he disowned his own son for being a prisoner of war. Order 227 of July, 1942 eliminated the option
of retreating in battle, as it only encouraged their enemies to push further into Soviet territory . These
decisions were extremely controversial, but no one can argue their

The Pros And Cons Of A Primary Election System
A primary election is where voters in each state votes for a presidential candidate by
political party. For instance, if you are a registered Democrat within your county, then you only
vote for one democrat candidate in the primary. According the Greenberg book, the primary
system is a related trend has involved more direct elections of government officials, replacing
the old indirect methods (Greenberg 2014, pg. 286). This system is still used today to create a
direct approach to determine which candidate from each party officially won in one state, in
which a state that pledge to a specific candidate from each political party. For example, one
recent official pledge for the 2016 presidential election was in Iowa, in which Cruz won for the
Republicans in that state. Again, these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But in today s system, there is such thing a party caucuses , or
selection of delegates to national party conventions by city or countywide meetings by party
(Greenberg 2014, pg. 287). This will enhance democracy, but it is sometimes an un democratic
Lee 2 feature. So do we think that it is a good system? Because most politicians usually never listen
and
continuously debating, thus creating delays for a solution, I basically have no opinion on that.
However, June primaries are official elimination round, in which one candidate from each party
will run for the November election, so I think that the primary system breaks down to several
candidates into one for each party. Ultimately, the primary system is to create a two party
election, whether it is countywide, statewide, or nationwide, created a major success in the
struggle for democracy (Greenberg 2014, pg. 287). Problems do remain at the polls and also
while processing votes in the county seat, in which can create unexpected official

The Opening Scene Of Inauguration Of The Pleasure Dome And...
Rituals or cults are part of the average s man or woman s everyday life. From following a religion and
practicing its ceremonies, to performing tasks in order to belong to a certain crowd, people are
constantly involving themselves in cult like activities and the rituals that come attached to them. Avant
garde filmmaker Kenneth Anger in his films Inauguration of The Pleasure Dome and Scorpio Rising
does not only highlight some of these cult rituals, but also induces the viewer to become part of them.
On one hand, Scorpio Rising depicts an actual ritual by creating the portrait of the leader of a
motorcycle gang who is part of a sacrifice while Inauguration of The Pleasure Dome does not only
suggest a religious ritual practice, but also creates a trance state for the viewer allowing them to be
part of the ritual. Both films use similar tools to achieve the ritualistic reference. They both do it
through alluring set design and costumes, reference to religious acts, and through repetitive and
detailed narrative schemes.
The opening scene of Inauguration Of The Pleasure Dome consists of a colorful sequence in which an
unusual man is putting gold rings on his fingers and diamond necklaces down his throat. The camera
follows this extravagant man down bright orange corridors until he reaches a mirror his reflection
shows a demon figure that opens the gate to the following sequence. For the following thirty minutes

Congress Passed The Budget Control Act
On August 2, 2011, Congress passed the Budget Control Act (BCA) of 2011 which cut $487 billion
from projected defense spending over the next 10 years.1 The act also established a system of
sequestration, which would cut an additional $495 billion from the defense budget.2 Altogether, the
BCA would cut almost $1 trillion dollars from the Department of Defense (DoD). The passing of the
BCA and the subsequent loss of funding mark an end to a 13 year period of robust budget allocations
to support the global war on terrorism. From 2001 to 2013 over $1.6 trillion has been allocated to the
DoD to support preparations for and execution of operations in various overseas areas.3 Within this
$1.6 trillion, 94% of the funding was allocated to support operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.4 This
robust amount of funding cultivated a culture within the DoD that there would always be funding
available to cover costs at home and abroad. This culture is deeply entrenched within the United States
Army due to large budgets provided to the Army over the past 13 years. In today s environment of
shrinking budgets, this culture can no longer stand true and must be changed. Establishing a cost
conscious culture (CCC) within the Army is critical to our ability to sustain the current Army force
structure and make the needed modernization investments to ensure our capability to fight and win our
nations wars.
Our world continues to remain a violent, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environment.

Scavengers In The Military
Humankind has been waging war since the first sword was crafted by the warmongering tribes that
sought to overthrow each other, and death upon the battlefield has become a daily routine. A boy
grows up, bears the mantle of soldier, and dies for a cause that not even he can fully understand.
Meanwhile, the world prepares for the inevitable with rising conflicts, and radical militants striving to
bring about a world that follows solely their beliefs. Ask yourself this: are our soldiers not to be
protected from needless casualties at all costs? Keeping in mind this question, we must now refer to
something that humanity chooses to hide, like a secret that could taint our reputation forever. I am
referring to the use of mercenaries and PMCs in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The use of mercenaries dates back to medieval ages, where kings and queens frequently hired them to
fight battles in their name, and handle revolts and rebellions. However, the industry of hired soldiers
was driven underground, and became nothing more than a whisper on the tongues of those who sought
to use them for small conflicts and issues. Ironically, the development of drones and high tech
weaponry has caused a revolution in the world of soldiers of fortune, and their presence in the
battlefield is not unheard of in these violent times. So, knowing that they re back, why haven t we
employed them globally? Well, the answer is that it s simply hard to trust these combatants; after all,
mercenaries have a notorious history of abandoning their original contractors for a higher bidder.
Furthermore, having to keep them in check is a hassle; the US typically prefers for these corporations
to abide by a ruleset on what they can and cannot use during armed conflicts. The issue with this is
that we would be handicapping our own soldiers, and the risk of letting them use banned military
equipment is simply too much. Don t be mistaken, however; these armed mercenaries are far from
weak, and they typically employ the best of the best. They also hold possession over numerous
weapons, ranging from M4 carbines to armored vehicles that have been sold by various countries. To
restate, the standard PMS is too costly, and too risky to deploy over our own armed forces, despite
having a solid foothold in the war economy.

Brazil s situation
As per CIA handbook, Since 2003, Brazil has steadily improved macroeconomic stability, building up
foreign reserves, reducing its debt profile by shifting its debt burden toward real denominated and
domestically held instruments, adhering to an inflation target, and committing to fiscal responsibility.
In 2008, Brazil became a net external creditor and two ratings agencies awarded investment grade
status to its debt. After record growth in 2007 and 2008, the onset of the global financial crisis hit
Brazil in September 2008. Brazil s currency and its stock market Bovespa saw large swings as foreign
investors pulled resources out of Brazil. Brazil experienced two quarters of recession, as global

Louis XIV And The Development Of English Nationalism
In 1688 1689, England underwent a revolution that reshaped its monarchy. When James II took the
throne in 1685, the public was optimistic, but this quickly changed. The public s view of James II
went from optimistic to cynical because of the King s refusal to take action against the French. Instead
of taking action, many viewed James II as becoming like the French monarch. In conjunction with a
declining support, James II and his wife had produced a male heir in the summer of 1688, insuring
that a catholic would inherit the throne. The birth of a Catholic heir was the breaking point for the
English. The result was the English sending secret messages to Prince William of Orange, inviting him
to invade England. Marking the start of the revolution. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When James II inherited the throne in 1685, the public expected James II to take action against the

their independence. For the English, it would have meant the end to the national identity they all

Government. This fear escalated when James II attempted to suspend the test acts by issuing the
Declaration of Indulgence. Although this declaration was supposed to encourage religious tolerance,
many English citizens did not view it that way. They viewed it as treat to the established parliament in
England. This increased fears because many compared James II declaration to Louis XIV s acts when
he invaded the supreme legal authority of France. Because of their fear of being Frenchified, the
English invited the Prince of Orange to invade England, starting the revolution. To justify this action,
Pincus describes it best. He said, English loyalty was primarily to English law and English customs
[national identity] rather than a particular monarch. Since James had violated that law, he ceased to be
an English king and was no longer owed obedience. In the end, the Prince of Orange arrived with the
support of the majority of the English. As a result, James II abdicated and fled to France. The
Nationalist revolution of 1688 1689 had

What Is Red Baiting Symbolize In The Crucible
The hunt for a scapegoat is the easiest of all hunting expeditions, Dwight D. Eisenhower. You can see
from this that he is trying to relay the message that when you re looking for blame, there are many
people to cast it on. This idea is relative to the Salem Witch Trials and the McCarthy trials because the
supposed witches and communists were just scapegoats for the fear that the common man had. In the
Witch Trials, there were 19 people hung, guilty of not confessing and naming names of other people
preforming witchcraft. Joesph McCarthy of McCarthyism blacklisted hundreds of Americans, those
who failed to name names were later accompanied by unemployment. Arthur Miller depicted the
McCarthy Era as the Salem Witch Trials through the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Martha Corey was the banned books and media. Her husband told the court that she had been reading
strange books. She was later put on trial, found guilty, jailed and hanged. She represents banned books
and media because the reason of their suspicion of her is the books. Many people in the McCarthy
trials, where found guilty because of strange books they were reading. Mr. Putnam represents red
baiting. Red baiting is when they try to get you to say something that is somewhat communist, and
crucifying you for it. Putnam was deceptive in his questioning and would manipulate the answers and
use them as proof of witchcraft. The same tactics were used in McCarthyism, called red baiting.
Reverend Hale represents the investigators, or the FBI. At first Hale went one hundred percent into the
investigations and false accusations and witchcraft. He later goes back on his old beliefs and realizes it
has gone too far. He began helping people like Proctor, who were falsely accused. The leader of the
FBI, Hoover, and his agents began the search full heartedly. Later they confessed to being a major role
in the false accusations, however they admitted to this after they quit the FBI. Arther Miller used many

Interpersonal Communication In Pablo Narcos
Narcos tells the true life story of the growth and spread of cocaine drug cartels across the globe and
attendant efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. It centers around
the notorious Colombian cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar. Pablo shows an interesting character
throughout the episodes through various ways of showing people who he wants to be viewed as. He
never wanted to be viewed as just another drug trafficker, but he wanted to be the best of all time. His
goal was to leave an impression for the people of Columbia so that if he did die, his name would be
mentioned in the future. He never acted the same way with anyone who had the opportunity to do
business with him. He would either be very genuine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through the actions, Pablo portrays during episodes proves that identity and the way we manage
ourselves under certain circumstances has great influence in the way we present ourselves to the
individuals we encounter in our daily lives.
Throughout the episode, Pablo has shown to be very loyal, protective and generous to his immediate
family. On the other hand, the behavior with strangers is the complete opposite as he acquires the
position of authority. The family is defined as a group of people who genuinely love, care, and look
out for each other. It is said to be a bondage that cannot be broken by any means. Families have
individual beliefs and values in which they carry throughout their life. As per the research I have
obtained, I can summarize that values are concepts of what s good or bad, whereas beliefs are things
you believe to be true or false in life. Although in the show Narcos, Pablo may have his criminal
thoughts targeted towards strangers, the family is a different story. Things such as his beliefs and
values regarding family, keep him from acting as a criminal when near them. Based on research, it
was noted that the family is the most important social unit in Columbia. Even if the main breadwinner
lives and works far from home, the family takes priority . Based off this, its shown that Pablo abuses
the method of identity

Tuanfeng Orphanage
A box, that is where my story begins. I was born in China to an unknown mother during the time of
the one child policy. This meant that Chinese mothers could only have one child. Any additional
children were taken from their parents by the government. At the time it was illegal for a Chinese
mother to abandon her child. This meant that if mothers wanted to provide their child a safe and
secure future, they often chose to leave the baby during the night either at or close to a children s
orphanage. In my case it was reported that my mother left me in blue clothes, wrapped in a nice
blanket, and tucked me into a box. The box was placed at an open air market across street from the
TuanFeng Orphanage. In most all reported cases mother s will hid and watch their child all night to
make sure they are safe and found the next morning. I was found by Zi Young, an orphanage
employee on March 12, 2001, and brought to the orphanage. They estimated that I was about a day old

How Stress And Stress Management
For this assignment I was asked to select a topic in which we have studied during the weeks of nine
through eleven. I have selected to explore Stress and Stress Management more in depth. In this
assignment I will explain what made me want to know more about it. I plan on telling you what you
should know about Stress and Stress Management. Lastly, I will discuss how Stress and Stress
Management relate to success in my personal and professional life. Stress can be defined as the
nonspecific response of the body to any demand made on it (Lamberton Minor, 2014, p. 288).
Selecting this topic was very easy for me because the past few days have been very stressful. I have
recently endured a stressful situation in which I have never encountered before. I recently interviewed
for a new position, and survived the stress of the interview process. Two weeks later I received a call
back offering me the position. This was great news, but the call came five minutes after I had arrived
to work for my twelve hour shift. After, the five minute conversation I accepted the offer, but
proceeded to tell her I would need to get back with her on the wage offer. The stress I felt in that
moment was positive. According to our text this form of stress is known as eustress. Eustress is a good
stress, not to mention it is desirable (Lamberton Minor, 2014). On the other hand, my mind raced as I
worked that day. The stress of a new nursing experience, the stress of turning in my notice, and the

ESRI: Changing world.
Case Synopsis
Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) is a privately held, debt free, company that is a
global leader in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software used for visualization and analysis
of geographic data by institutional users across the globe. ESRI has pioneered this technology for four
decades as it pursued its founder leader Jack Dangermond s mission to change the world by making it
spatially enabled. Since 2000, the world has changed. The new Internet companies have put electronic

By the end of 2006, many additional interactive features were available on these electronic maps. For
example, in addition to getting directions from one point to another, one could also look up real time
traffic along the route, in addition to locating a hotel on a map, one could also locate the nearby
businesses and tourist attractions. Related technologies started to appear in mobile devices from cell
phone to automobiles. Cars could be equipped with devices that linked to the satellite Global
Positioning System that could provide driving directions as well as local information as one drove
through an area, and cell phones could be tracked to their exact locations.
Jack s vision of a geographically enabled world was coming true, except that it was happening with
technologies and companies that were unrelated to ESRI or even GIS. Many of these companies and
technologies were not around in 1969, when Jack and Laura first started ESRI. Will this visionary
pioneer of geographic information systems be a pioneer in this geographically enabled world that they
have championed for four decades? What role will ESRI and GIS play in this new era? What
resources and capabilities does ESRI have and how should it deploy them in order to create its
position in this changing world? Will it continue to be the number one player in the market? How, if at
all, should ESRI be responding to the new technologies and companies that are redefining the market?

Gospel Of Luke Salvation Essay
Luke s Gospel specifically shows special concerns for those that are oppressed, looked down upon,
and outcasts of society. Jesus tends to reach out to those people. Why? Jesus is challenging attitudes
that limit God s care or blessings to any particular group or nation. And then proceeds to insist that the
gospel proclaimed is a message of hope for all people. Salvation is a huge part of the Gospel of Luke,
there are a plethora of examples of what it means to be saved. And in the many examples found in the
Gospel of Luke, it is either God/Jesus, or their respective actions that bring salvation. Tax Collectors
fall under that category of those that believed in the time of Jesus that salvation was not quite
available to them.
Tax Collectors were not highly respected in Roman Territories. The people hated the tax collectors for
several reasons. First and foremost, they were tax collectors. And that meant in Rome you could tax
whatever amount you wanted as long as Rome got their base taxes. So often, as I m sure most of you
may know, they would abuse that power and get a lot of money that way. It s like if you got a $500 tax
bill and you could barely pay that, but you understand taxes are taxes even though you don t like
having to pay them. And then someone like Zacchaeus comes along and says actually that bill is

How Is Holden Caulfield Crazy
Holden Caulfield from Catcher in the Rye only likes the innocent parts of people. Throughout the
book we are given examples of how Holden has different feelings based on who he is talking to. Three
important characters in the book give three different personalities that add up to the overall conclusion
that Holden is crazy.
Stradlater is one of the most non innocent characters in the story, and we see throughout the book
Holden picking fights with him. He is known to take girls on dates and rape them in the back of his
coaches car. After he takes Holden s childhood friend, Jane, on a date, he refuses to tell Holden what
they did. Holden assumes he tried to rape her and take away her innocence, and immediately he grows
in hatred toward Stradlater. The text says, I told him he didn t care because he was a goddam stupid
moron. He hated it when you called him a moron. All morons hate when you call them a moron. (50)
Holden then gets into a big fight with Stradlater. In the story he calls him, A dirty stupid sonuvabitch
moron. (50) And says, That s just the trouble with all you morons. You never want to discuss anything.
That s the way you can always tell a moron. They never want to discuss anything. (50) He yells at
Stradlater, tries to anger him, and ends up losing in a fight to him. This is the first time Holden shows
hatred toward someone in the story. Someone that has taken away someone else s innocence. Overall,
these pieces from the text give us evidence of Holden

Reflection About Apathy
Students line the patterned red seats in the high school auditorium. While the speaker on stage bellows
his gospel of forgiveness, some students halfheartedly nod along, some stare at their shoes, and some
snore. Looking around the chapel from my seat in the back row, I am overwhelmed with one
impression: apathy. This mood that hung in the room was pervasive, making me feel uncomfortable
because I realized that I felt it too. While I usually enjoy learning for its own sake, apathy has not
escaped me. Not only does this mindset manifest in my school s chapel services, but also in the
classroom. When students do not care about learning, they either put in the least amount of effort
possible or resort to rote memorization to maintain their grade. Instead of understanding the material,
they glean little knowledge that they can apply to their lives, making education relatively pointless.
This thoughtlessness maddens me because I want to be purposeful in everything that I do. During my
junior year of high school, apathetic students and teachers led me to rediscover the power I have over
my own education. In my physics class, I was miserable: I did not learn I memorized. Although my
teacher had good intentions and a passion for the subject, he taught us terms and formulas, skirting
around fundamentals such as how these concepts connected to each other. Work equals the applied

I was inspired by abstract art when I was undergraduate student and it triggered to make abstract style

The Inuktitut Culture
Some of the questions and observations I mention as arising from an ecological perspective, such as
the effect of tribal movement and climate change, link with ones that might arise when approaching
anthropological work with First Nation peoples in northern Canada from a cultural angle. The Cree

the environment. This intimacy (Hallenday) shapes every aspect of their cultures how they hunt, how
they socialize, even their language. The Inuktitut language, for example, is known for its linguistic

Ronald Reagan s Domestic and Foreign Affairs Essay
I have decided to write my research paper on the topic of Ronald Reagan s Domestic and Foreign
Affairs. The reason that I choose this topic was because I have always been personally interested in
Ronald Reagan s time in office and the national crisis he had to deal with. Reagan was awesome when
it came to foreign policy because he knew how to negotiate with foreign leaders and their countries to
get what he wanted. There were several instances during his time in office that he had the chance to
use his ability to get the country out of danger. Domestic Affairs is another part of Reagan s
presidency that was very important. He was able to take the country, which seemed to be in an
economic slump and turn their economic status around. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This economic expansion and boost would occur through citizens who would spend the extra tax
money on products and services in their geographical region or who would invest money into
businesses in their area. The only problem for the government using this theory would be the initial
revenues that the government would lose from the tax cuts. In theory the economic growth would
eventually increase taxable incomes, this increase in taxable incomes should cause the governmental
revenues to grow in the long run. With the idea of Reaganomics in mind President Reagan persuaded
Congress to pass the Economic Recovery Tax Act, which is the first major step in his plan. This Tax
Act called for a 25 percent tax cut that was implemented over a three year period (David Mervin,
1990, 133 7). The only problem with this tax cut is the fact that it mainly benefited the upper income
taxpayers and large corporations. The reason that these groups were targeted is because there is more
of a chance that they will invest their money in business programs that will promote economic growth.
After this tax cut took effect the American people in the lower income tax brackets were not pleased
with the results. They seemed to be faced with an increase in their tax rates even though most of them
were in the income categories below the national average. On the other end of the spectrum the people
that were in the upper tax brackets were experiencing significant tax cuts. The

The Great Depression in Alex Kershaw s The Bedford Boys
Bedford Boys 1. How did the Great Depression affect the town of Bedford before the war? What
programs were offered in the town to help alleviate the Depression? How did it motivate many of the
men to join the National Guard? The Great Depression affected people all over the United States of
America and the people of the town of Bedford, Virginia perhaps worse than many others. Bedford, in
the time before the Great Depression, had an economy that was primarily based upon agriculture. One
family from Bedford, the Stevens boys, was an example of the people who were financially
destabilized by the Depression (Kershaw 2003, 10). The banks often foreclosed on lands which had
been in the hands of local families for generations, making scores of people homeless and without
employment. Everyone was called upon to do whatever was possible to make ends meet. One man,
Dickie Overstreet, had somehow gotten by in the worst years of the Depression through supplying
vegetables and meat to Dickie s aunt, who owned the Dutch Inn, a boardinghouse in Bedford
(Kershaw 2003, 60). Some people sold their property and took whatever jobs were available. People s
pride and vanity soon vanished when it became apparent that the alternative was starvation and
destitution. With the administration of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the implementation of the New
Deal works projects, things became better for many people in Bedford and throughout the nation. One

stages. The prime drivers of mass customization are technology, supply chain transformation and
organizational restructuring. There has been major advancement on technological front starting from
taking customer s measurement through body scanning, to product development and finally to deliver
the right kind of customized product to customer. There are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

During the last 15 years, choice has become an important ingredient of consumer purchasing
decisions. Within this timeframe, the number of automobile models has increased from 140 to 260; the
selection of soft drinks from 20 to 90. Today, the U.S. market alone offers consumers 3,000 brands of
beer, 50 brands of bottled water, and 340 kinds of breakfast cereals. Retailers today not only want
more collections per season but also more styles within the season. Various companies deliver new
lines of clothes to their stores every four to six weeks. H M and Zara, for example, have achieved this
by speeding up the design cycle with computer technology. Zara uses data from its 426 stores to spot
new trends, and offers 10,000 new products a year. TopShop sells as many as 30 pairs of knickers a
minute, 6,000 pairs of jeans a day and 35,000 pairs of shoes every week. The shelf life of a garment
has fallen from six months to a few weeks. This new consumer oriented marketplace is forcing
manufacturers to change from a plan and push product chain mentality to a demand driven, sense and
respond value chain. If we look at the evolution of the mass customization, the history takes us many
years back. In fact our civilization started with mass customization in the preindustrialization era,
moved to mass production and again today we are looking at mass customization in the near future.
But there is huge difference in today s

The Basic Principles Of Microeconomics
Since economics is a subject that each and every one of us is touched by and take part in, the ten
principles of microeconomics can be seen all throughout our lives. Each time we decide to go to a
party rather than study, arrive on time to work in fear of being reprimanded, or decide to paint your
house to increase its value, you are demonstrating one or multiple of these basic principles. Principle
One: The fact that every decision contains a trade off is not only a basic economic principle, but a fact
of life, true on societal level and on an individual level. By definition, if you make one choice, you
lose out on the potential benefits of all the other choices you passed up on. If a country decides to put
its resources into medical research, less resources will be available for welfare, defense, education etc.
There is a plethora of examples I can give from my life to demonstrate this principle. The clearest to
me is college. I could have invested the money I have spent on college and could have possible
became rich, but realizing the chances of that are slim, chose to go to college instead. Principle Two:
Principle two is very similar to the first, expect it is explicitly talking about the opportunity cost of a
decision. A great example of this principle in my personal life is the gap year I took after high school.
After graduating from high school I decided to repeat my senior year as an exchange student in
Belgium. This was the best time of my life and one of the

Anglo Displacement In Othello
Anzaldúa argues that white males project their own feelings of inadequacies onto the minority who in
turn attempts to reassert himself by oppressing his own women, The Anglo, feeling inadequate and
inferior and powerless, displaces or transfers these feelings to the Chicano by shaming him (Anzaldúa
2103). Anzaldúa is detailing the displacement of oppression that the Chicano suffers from. A white
person who is feeling inadequate, possibly by the Chicano himself, moves to displace these feelings
onto the Chicano through shame. The Anglo shames the Chicano by making him feel inferior. This
displacement does not belong solely to the Chicano but rather all minorities that pose a threat to the
Anglo s ego. This can be illustrated in Othello by the relationship between Othello and ... Show more

Iago is convinced, despite having no proof, that Othello has slept with Emilia. On top of this, Iago is
also jealous of Cassio s promotion over him. All Iago s insecurities and feelings are projected onto
Othello. Iago mentions and mocks Othello s race in a desperate attempt to belittle Othello. Anzaldúa
argues that, To wash down the shame of his acts, of his very being, and to handle the brute in the
mirror, he takes to the bottle, the snort, the needle, and the fist (Anzaldúa 2103). She claims that the
man being oppressed internalizes the abuse and must find some way to expel it through drugs, alcohol,
or violence. Othello expels his oppression through violence. He takes in all of Iago s verbal poison and
repurposes it. Othello directs his angry towards Desdemona by blaming her for his own feelings of
inadequacy. He ends Desdemona s life to transfer the poison because only through her death is the

Participative style is where the leader and the subordinates shares their views and opinions in decision
making process. This can be seen in Roger Eaton where he provides group of interactive sessions and
open conversations. This is to enhance open communication and give employees the opportunity to
express concerns and their ideas.
Comparison:
Steve Easterbrook, CEO of Mcdonald s, adopts the selling style. Steve believes in managing the
people in his company by using both directive and supportive behaviour. He displays his supportive
behaviour towards his employees by motivating them to further increase their self confidence level. In
addition to this, he also shows directive behaviour by paying attention to his employees and make sure
they carry out tasks correctly and under supervision.
Roger Eaton on the other hand adopts a participative style. He entrusts tasks to his employees and
involves them in decision making process for KFC and encourages them to delegate other employees
to get things done instead of him supervising everyone all the

The Real Tragic Hero Of Sophocles Antigone
Brennan Vicker
John Carlberg
English 102

The Real Tragic Hero in the Play Antigone A tragic hero according to Aristotle is someone who is of
high nobility, and has a major internal character flaw. That flaw will eventually by the characters
ultimate demise which is most likely death. If their demise doesn t end in a death the tragic hero
usually goes through a catharsis. The most common flaws of a tragic hero are hubris, pride, and
stubbornness. Tragic heroes can be found throughout most tragedy themed plays and they can help the
audience relate or feel for the character has they go through there ups and downs throughout majority
of the play. An example of play that has a definite tragic hero is the play Antigone by Sophocles.
Antigone and Creon are both the main characters in this play but only one is the true tragic hero of this
play. Creon perfectly fits majority of a tragic hero definition according to Aristotle. Antigone barely
meets a few of the aspects of a tragic hero, which is why tragic hero of the play Antigone by
Sophocles is Creon the King of Thebes.
Around the fifth century B.C. tragedies were a very new and popular form of playwriting amongst the
people of Ancient Greece. One of the first playwrights of Ancient Greece that mastered the art of
writing tragedies was the well know Sophocles. One of Sophocles famous plays is called Oedipus the
King which was the model for the guidelines used in the book Poetics which was written by Aristotle

Ambassador Of The United Kingdom
Introduction
Good afternoon. I am grateful to Chancellor Rt. Hon. the Lord Patten of Barnes, Vice Chancellor
Professor Andrew Hamilton and indeed the entire leadership of this great University for extending an
invitation to have me speak here today. I have spoken at many places but engaging any form of
audience at the prestigious Oxford University is something that I really have to place on my
curriculum vitae. I am also grateful to the US Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ambassador
Mathew Barzun and his family for the warmth they have shown me since I got to the United Kingdom
and for being present at this function. Ambassador Barzun s pace setting involvement with the internet
especially at its early stage is something that I have for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These issues include shutdowns, ratifications and the war powers act. I will then provide some advice
to today s political leaders and even future political leaders. However, before that I will like to set
briefly the ball rolling with my personal history.
Personal History
I was born in January, 1939 in Rosemont, a small village in Maryland of a few hundred people. My
father was a World War I veteran and my mother a sort of teacher, running some version of a reading
school for the kids in the community. 1939 means I was born in the same year that the Second World
War began and that earned me the nickname the baby s that s getting his father to go to another war .
However, my father developed a terminal illness that meant that his participation in World War 2
would only be to explain the essence and likely ramification of reported war incidents and statements
to myself and my four siblings. Inspired by my father s war stories especially those that detailed the
extent that many American soldiers would go to defend their country, and also by the early Cold War
politicking, I enrolled in the US Naval Academy and passed out in 1955. At the time, the Cold War
was at its height and as was more than likely at the time, I fought in the Vietnam War in the 1960s.
The Vietnam period was when my father s World War 1 tales and dissections of World War 2 actions
became most alive to me. The

Military Ethics And The Military
Military ethics encompass a wide range of things. In the contemporary world, military ethics include
all facets of military behavior, from issuing regular reviews on juniors to relations of those in the
military with civilians to matters related to war. Currently, the world has witnessed technological
advancements in various sectors including the military. Indeed, battles between different nations have
become dominated by highly advanced weaponry especially when developed nations are involved. It
is these developments that have raised concerns over the use of highly sophisticated and deadly
weapons. Military ethics dictate how certain weapons should be used and circumstances under which
the military can use lethal force. Different nations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Military ethics, therefore, serve to ensure that only weapons that are universally accepted are used in
war (Gale, 2016). One fundamental principle of just war customs refers to efforts to make war as
compassionate as probable even for the military personnel. The Geneva resolution principles require
that soldiers who lay down their arms during battles be eligible for benevolent confinement by their
imprisoners. The captors are needed to provide them with food, medical care, and housing. Underlying
these ethics is the commonly shared belief that fighter is an impermanent status overriding an essential
common humanity of rivals. Humanitarian concerns over soldiers in the traditional military morals is
demonstrated by attempts to do away with weapons considered to be inhumane. Such efforts began
when the medieval church banned the crossbow since it was perceived to be too accurate and lethal
over long distances. Current world leaders and military leaders have categorized blinding lasers,
hollow point bullets, and the asphyxiating gas as unethical classes of technology that should not be
employed in war. Besides dictating how the military as a whole should conduct itself, military ethics
govern how military personnel should behave. Rules of conduct provide guidelines to those in the
military on standards of behavioral ethics. Those found culpable of violating the ethics are liable for
prosecution under the uniform code of military justice.

  • 3. Code Of Conduct, Ssts And Other Regulations 1. Introduction Tax professionals have to adhere to the rules set by the Code of Conduct, SSTS and other regulations. In order to perform their job appropriately they have to be honest, objective, and remain conflict free while working with clients. The tax professional assists their client as a guide, but the ultimate responsibility of accuracy relies on the taxpayer. The taxpayer or tax paying entity uses their tax preparer for guidance since they are aware of tax rules and regulations. The purpose of the tax return that is filed yearly for each tax payer or tax paying entity serves the purpose of being a summary of activity through the year for the government to access what portion of the activity spending is owed to the government. If the client is wealthy or an extremely large entity, preparing their tax return can then become an extremely complex job which will require the tax preparer to refer to the several rules and regulations for proper filing. 2. Tax Ethics and Professionals Standards The ethical standards to be followed by CPAs in tax practice require them to know about applicable rules of the AICPA, IRS, and other statutory and regulatory rules. It is virtually impossible for one to learn police history, or study policing in general for that matter, without gaining knowledge about Peel and his principles. Furthermore, the same could be said for taking a political science class, and not learning the differences between the Democratic and Republican parties. However, Sir Robert Peel is known for other contributions, or destructions, of society s well being, depending on one s perspective. As we all are aware, the emotions and temperaments of individuals are heightened when politics are involved. First and foremost, Peel not only revised and organized the field of policing, he also was the blame for destroying the conservative party in the nineteenth century (Evans, 2006). He perceived himself as an economic reformist which lead to the creation of the Corn Laws (Evans, 2006). He had the ideology that removing and/or reducing taxes would be in the best interest of society. Differences Between Hitler And Stalin The Hitler Stalin Pact of 1939 shocked the world, but no one knew what Hitler really desired from the Soviets until he commenced Operation Barbarossa in June, 1941. The War in the East began with much confusion on the Soviet side, but in the end, they prevailed and the Germans were unable to achieve Lebensraum. Upon examination, the different levels of planning and strategies employed by both leaders guaranteed a Soviet victory, as Hitler overestimated his own forces, while Stalin focused on effective methods. It was common knowledge that the Soviet Union was behind the other powers in terms of industrialization, and to prepare for a war that was inevitable, Stalin attempted to solve this by implementing a war economy as early as 1931, which meant that the Soviets were fully prepared for World War II when it began. Once the Nazis invaded, however, they were taken completely by surprise, and this led to Stalin utilizing different strategies with his own citizens. After a patriotic message from foreign minister, Vyacheslav Molotov , Stalin himself gave a few speeches that resonated with the people, by calling them to work together to defend against the Fascists as brothers and sisters . After the first few months of constant defeat, however, Stalin decided to take more desperate measures with Orders 227 and 270. Order 270 from August, 1941 stated that any Red Army soldiers who surrendered to the Nazis would be severely punished. Soldiers were to fight to their deaths, and anything they did otherwise was unacceptable. Stalin even proved to be a man of his word as he disowned his own son for being a prisoner of war. From following a religion and practicing its ceremonies, to performing tasks in order to belong to a certain crowd, people are constantly involving themselves in cult like activities and the rituals that come attached to them. Avant garde filmmaker Kenneth Anger in his films Inauguration of The Pleasure Dome and Scorpio Rising does not only highlight some of these cult rituals, but also induces the viewer to become part of them. On one hand, Scorpio Rising depicts an actual ritual by creating the portrait of the leader of a motorcycle gang who is part of a sacrifice while Inauguration of The Pleasure Dome does not only suggest a religious ritual practice, but also creates a trance state for the viewer allowing them to be part of the ritual. Both films use similar tools to achieve the ritualistic reference. They both do it through alluring set design and costumes, reference to religious acts, and through repetitive and detailed narrative schemes. • 16. Congress Passed The Budget Control Act On August 2, 2011, Congress passed the Budget Control Act (BCA) of 2011 which cut $487 billion from projected defense spending over the next 10 years.1 The act also established a system of sequestration, which would cut an additional $495 billion from the defense budget.2 Altogether, the BCA would cut almost $1 trillion dollars from the Department of Defense (DoD). The passing of the BCA and the subsequent loss of funding mark an end to a 13 year period of robust budget allocations to support the global war on terrorism. From 2001 to 2013 over $1.6 trillion has been allocated to the DoD to support preparations for and execution of operations in various overseas areas.3 Within this $1.6 trillion, 94% of the funding was allocated to support operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.4 This robust amount of funding cultivated a culture within the DoD that there would always be funding available to cover costs at home and abroad. This culture is deeply entrenched within the United States Army due to large budgets provided to the Army over the past 13 years. In today s environment of shrinking budgets, this culture can no longer stand true and must be changed. Establishing a cost conscious culture (CCC) within the Army is critical to our ability to sustain the current Army force structure and make the needed modernization investments to ensure our capability to fight and win our nations wars. The use of mercenaries dates back to medieval ages, where kings and queens frequently hired them to fight battles in their name, and handle revolts and rebellions. However, the industry of hired soldiers was driven underground, and became nothing more than a whisper on the tongues of those who sought to use them for small conflicts and issues. Ironically, the development of drones and high tech weaponry has caused a revolution in the world of soldiers of fortune, and their presence in the battlefield is not unheard of in these violent times. So, knowing that they re back, why haven t we employed them globally? Well, the answer is that it s simply hard to trust these combatants; after all, mercenaries have a notorious history of abandoning their original contractors for a higher bidder. Furthermore, having to keep them in check is a hassle; the US typically prefers for these corporations to abide by a ruleset on what they can and cannot use during armed conflicts. The issue with this is that we would be handicapping our own soldiers, and the risk of letting them use banned military equipment is simply too much. Don t be mistaken, however; these armed mercenaries are far from weak, and they typically employ the best of the best. They also hold possession over numerous weapons, ranging from M4 carbines to armored vehicles that have been sold by various countries. When James II took the throne in 1685, the public was optimistic, but this quickly changed. The public s view of James II went from optimistic to cynical because of the King s refusal to take action against the French. Instead of taking action, many viewed James II as becoming like the French monarch. In conjunction with a declining support, James II and his wife had produced a male heir in the summer of 1688, insuring that a catholic would inherit the throne. The birth of a Catholic heir was the breaking point for the English. The result was the English sending secret messages to Prince William of Orange, inviting him to invade England. Marking the start of the revolution. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When James II inherited the throne in 1685, the public expected James II to take action against the French monarch King Louis XIV. The English people feared King Louis XIV s would try to create a universal monarch. If Louis XIV had created a universal monarch, all other countries would have lost their independence. For the English, it would have meant the end to the national identity they all valued. Unfortunately for James II, he did not take action against France. Instead, many believed and feared that James II wanted to change the English government to one modeled after the French Government. This fear escalated when James II attempted to suspend the test acts by issuing the Declaration of Indulgence. Although this declaration was supposed to encourage religious tolerance, many English citizens did not view it that way. They viewed it as treat to the established parliament in England. This increased fears because many compared James II declaration to Louis XIV s acts when he invaded the supreme legal authority of France. Because of their fear of being Frenchified, the English invited the Prince of Orange to invade England, starting the revolution. To justify this action, Pincus describes it best. He said, English loyalty was primarily to English law and English customs [national identity] rather than a particular monarch. Since James had violated that law, he ceased to be an English king and was no longer owed obedience. In the end, the Prince of Orange arrived with the support of the majority of the English. As a result, James II abdicated and fled to France. The Nationalist revolution of 1688 1689 had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You can see from this that he is trying to relay the message that when you re looking for blame, there are many people to cast it on. This idea is relative to the Salem Witch Trials and the McCarthy trials because the supposed witches and communists were just scapegoats for the fear that the common man had. In the Witch Trials, there were 19 people hung, guilty of not confessing and naming names of other people preforming witchcraft. On the other hand, the behavior with strangers is the complete opposite as he acquires the position of authority. The family is defined as a group of people who genuinely love, care, and look out for each other. It is said to be a bondage that cannot be broken by any means. Families have individual beliefs and values in which they carry throughout their life. As per the research I have obtained, I can summarize that values are concepts of what s good or bad, whereas beliefs are things you believe to be true or false in life. Although in the show Narcos, Pablo may have his criminal thoughts targeted towards strangers, the family is a different story. Things such as his beliefs and values regarding family, keep him from acting as a criminal when near them. Based on research, it was noted that the family is the most important social unit in Columbia. Even if the main breadwinner lives and works far from home, the family takes priority . This meant that Chinese mothers could only have one child. Any additional children were taken from their parents by the government. At the time it was illegal for a Chinese mother to abandon her child. This meant that if mothers wanted to provide their child a safe and secure future, they often chose to leave the baby during the night either at or close to a children s orphanage. I plan on telling you what you should know about Stress and Stress Management. Lastly, I will discuss how Stress and Stress Management relate to success in my personal and professional life. Stress can be defined as the nonspecific response of the body to any demand made on it (Lamberton Minor, 2014, p. 288). Selecting this topic was very easy for me because the past few days have been very stressful. I have recently endured a stressful situation in which I have never encountered before. I recently interviewed for a new position, and survived the stress of the interview process. Two weeks later I received a call back offering me the position. This was great news, but the call came five minutes after I had arrived to work for my twelve hour shift. After, the five minute conversation I accepted the offer, but proceeded to tell her I would need to get back with her on the wage offer. The stress I felt in that moment was positive. Tax Collectors fall under that category of those that believed in the time of Jesus that salvation was not quite available to them. Tax Collectors were not highly respected in Roman Territories. This mood that hung in the room was pervasive, making me feel uncomfortable because I realized that I felt it too. While I usually enjoy learning for its own sake, apathy has not escaped me. Not only does this mindset manifest in my school s chapel services, but also in the classroom. When students do not care about learning, they either put in the least amount of effort possible or resort to rote memorization to maintain their grade. Instead of understanding the material, they glean little knowledge that they can apply to their lives, making education relatively pointless. This thoughtlessness maddens me because I want to be purposeful in everything that I do. During my junior year of high school, apathetic students and teachers led me to rediscover the power I have over my own education. In my physics class, I was miserable: I did not learn I memorized. This economic expansion and boost would occur through citizens who would spend the extra tax money on products and services in their geographical region or who would invest money into businesses in their area. The only problem for the government using this theory would be the initial revenues that the government would lose from the tax cuts. In theory the economic growth would eventually increase taxable incomes, this increase in taxable incomes should cause the governmental revenues to grow in the long run. With the idea of Reaganomics in mind President Reagan persuaded Congress to pass the Economic Recovery Tax Act, which is the first major step in his plan. This Tax Act called for a 25 percent tax cut that was implemented over a three year period (David Mervin, 1990, 133 7). The only problem with this tax cut is the fact that it mainly benefited the upper income taxpayers and large corporations. The reason that these groups were targeted is because there is more of a chance that they will invest their money in business programs that will promote economic growth. After this tax cut took effect the American people in the lower income tax brackets were not pleased with the results. The Great Depression affected people all over the United States of America and the people of the town of Bedford, Virginia perhaps worse than many others. Bedford, in the time before the Great Depression, had an economy that was primarily based upon agriculture. One family from Bedford, the Stevens boys, was an example of the people who were financially destabilized by the Depression (Kershaw 2003, 10). The banks often foreclosed on lands which had been in the hands of local families for generations, making scores of people homeless and without employment. Everyone was called upon to do whatever was possible to make ends meet. One man, Dickie Overstreet, had somehow gotten by in the worst years of the Depression through supplying vegetables and meat to Dickie s aunt, who owned the Dutch Inn, a boardinghouse in Bedford (Kershaw 2003, 60). Within this timeframe, the number of automobile models has increased from 140 to 260; the selection of soft drinks from 20 to 90. Today, the U.S. market alone offers consumers 3,000 brands of beer, 50 brands of bottled water, and 340 kinds of breakfast cereals. Retailers today not only want more collections per season but also more styles within the season. Various companies deliver new lines of clothes to their stores every four to six weeks. H M and Zara, for example, have achieved this by speeding up the design cycle with computer technology. Zara uses data from its 426 stores to spot new trends, and offers 10,000 new products a year. TopShop sells as many as 30 pairs of knickers a minute, 6,000 pairs of jeans a day and 35,000 pairs of shoes every week. The shelf life of a garment has fallen from six months to a few weeks. • 44. The Basic Principles Of Microeconomics Since economics is a subject that each and every one of us is touched by and take part in, the ten principles of microeconomics can be seen all throughout our lives. Each time we decide to go to a party rather than study, arrive on time to work in fear of being reprimanded, or decide to paint your house to increase its value, you are demonstrating one or multiple of these basic principles. Principle One: The fact that every decision contains a trade off is not only a basic economic principle, but a fact of life, true on societal level and on an individual level. By definition, if you make one choice, you lose out on the potential benefits of all the other choices you passed up on. If a country decides to put its resources into medical research, less resources will be available for welfare, defense, education etc. There is a plethora of examples I can give from my life to demonstrate this principle. The clearest to me is college. I could have invested the money I have spent on college and could have possible became rich, but realizing the chances of that are slim, chose to go to college instead. Principle Two: Principle two is very similar to the first, expect it is explicitly talking about the opportunity cost of a decision. A great example of this principle in my personal life is the gap year I took after high school. After graduating from high school I decided to repeat my senior year as an exchange student in Belgium. This was the best time of my life and one of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, before that I will like to set briefly the ball rolling with my personal history. Personal History I was born in January, 1939 in Rosemont, a small village in Maryland of a few hundred people. My father was a World War I veteran and my mother a sort of teacher, running some version of a reading school for the kids in the community. 1939 means I was born in the same year that the Second World War began and that earned me the nickname the baby s that s getting his father to go to another war . However, my father developed a terminal illness that meant that his participation in World War 2 would only be to explain the essence and likely ramification of reported war incidents and statements to myself and my four siblings. Inspired by my father s war stories especially those that detailed the extent that many American soldiers would go to defend their country, and also by the early Cold War politicking, I enrolled in the US Naval Academy and passed out in 1955. At the time, the Cold War was at its height and as was more than likely at the time, I fought in the Vietnam War in the 1960s. The Vietnam period was when my father s World War 1 tales and dissections of World War 2 actions became most alive to me. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Military ethics, therefore, serve to ensure that only weapons that are universally accepted are used in war (Gale, 2016). One fundamental principle of just war customs refers to efforts to make war as compassionate as probable even for the military personnel. The Geneva resolution principles require that soldiers who lay down their arms during battles be eligible for benevolent confinement by their imprisoners. The captors are needed to provide them with food, medical care, and housing. Underlying these ethics is the commonly shared belief that fighter is an impermanent status overriding an essential common humanity of rivals. Humanitarian concerns over soldiers in the traditional military morals is demonstrated by attempts to do away with weapons considered to be inhumane. Such efforts began when the medieval church banned the crossbow since it was perceived to be too accurate and lethal over long distances. Current world leaders and military leaders have categorized blinding lasers, hollow point bullets, and the asphyxiating gas as unethical classes of technology that should not be employed in war. Besides dictating how the military as a whole should conduct itself, military ethics govern how military personnel should behave. Rules of conduct provide guidelines to those in the military on standards of behavioral ethics.
