REMOTE is a regional climate model used to model particulate matter and air quality. It has high horizontal and vertical resolution and includes modules for aerosol dynamics, gas phase chemistry, and secondary organic aerosol formation. REMOTE has been used to study the effects of deposition schemes on ozone, sensitivity to horizontal resolution, and volcanic ash transport from the Eyjafyalla eruption in 2010. The model output has been evaluated against observations and other models. REMOTE is a useful tool for researchers and policymakers to study air pollution and its impacts.
