Rural Development In India Essay
Composing an essay on the subject of rural development in India presents both challenges and
opportunities for the writer. The intricacies of this topic demand a comprehensive understanding
of the multifaceted issues associated with rural areas in India. Addressing the diverse aspects of
rural development, ranging from agricultural practices and economic disparities to social and
infrastructural challenges, requires a nuanced approach.
One of the primary challenges lies in navigating through the vast amount of information
available on the topic. The multidimensional nature of rural development means that writers must
delve into various disciplines, including economics, sociology, agriculture, and public policy, to
create a well-rounded and informed essay. This necessitates meticulous research and the ability
to synthesize information from different sources.
Furthermore, articulating a coherent narrative that effectively communicates the complexities of
rural development in India can be challenging. Striking a balance between providing a thorough
analysis and ensuring the essay remains accessible to a diverse audience is crucial. The writer
must carefully structure the essay to present a clear and logical progression of ideas, allowing
readers to follow the argument without feeling overwhelmed by the vastness of the subject.
Moreover, addressing the socio-economic and cultural diversity within India's rural landscape
adds an additional layer of complexity. The writer must be sensitive to regional variations and be
able to capture the unique challenges and opportunities faced by different communities. This
requires a deep understanding of the cultural nuances and historical context of rural development
in various parts of the country.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on rural development in India demands a blend of research skills,
interdisciplinary knowledge, and effective communication. It is not merely about presenting facts
and figures but requires the writer to critically analyze and synthesize information to offer
meaningful insights. Despite the challenges, exploring this topic provides a valuable opportunity
to contribute to the discourse on sustainable development in one of the world's most populous
countries.

Clytemnestra s Suffering
In Aeschylus version of the tale of Agamemnon, the hero returns from his voyage
after ten long years, only to be murdered by his wife. From a close reading of the
text, it is clear that Clytemnestra had multiple reasons for doing what she did. Her
anger and resentment towards her husband stemmed from a number of wrongs that
he committed. The question readers are faced with is this: were Clytemnestras actions
justified? Clytemnestra is a likeable character; she is a powerful woman who gets
things done. Her suffering is great, and the audience feels sympathy for her. But
were the means she used to deal with her situation morally acceptable? The answer,
of course, is no. However, evidence from the text will show that Clytemnestra truly
felt like she had no other choice. That is not enough to exonerate her from her crimes;
it will explain why she killed Agamemnon, but not excuse it. On the surface,
Clytemnestra s initial reason for killing Agamemnon is to avenge the death of their
daughter, Iphigenia. Clytemnestra says, And though they wend their way unerringly,
what those dead suffered may yet work them ill, that pain which never sleeps and
fresh woe come (Hamilton 177). She is clearly still mourning the... Show more

He was the king, after all. He came home, after surviving a bloody war for ten
years. She figured that if the war did not kill him, what would happen to him in the
safety of his home? Clytemnestra also witnessed the warm welcome Agamemnon
received when he returned home. His people still adored and revered him,
regardless of the things he had done while he was away. Clytemnestra saw that she
alone felt this resentment and hatred. The people of Argos were ready to accept
Agamemnon as their ruler, and Clytemnestra would be out a throne, and a husband.

I Am Born With A Dual Major Program
I was born with a keen curiosity and I find it very difficult to stop wondering how
things work, especially if it includes STEM. Born and raised in a poor family where
opportunities were both rare and expensive, I struggled as much as I could to never
stop being fascinated by nature, and in part, I have indeed been successful. In fact, I
believe that this struggle helped me outrank everyone during my high school and help
me achieve significant accomplishments, such as being finalist in my country s
largest software development competition. I came to the United States with hopes
and dreams of further exploring my interests. Here at Southeastern, I have been
enrolled in a dual major program in computerscience and physics. Since it is
extremely hard for my parents who are going to retire within this year to fund for my
education, I have to rely on scholarship awards for the continuation of my education
at Southeastern. Thus, I am hereby applying for the J.E. and Mattye Lou Martin
Scholarship and if possible, Norman Higginbotham Scholarship. Let me demonstrate
my passion regarding STEM with a few examples.
When I was in grade five, I had built my own collection of chemicals that I could find
in the household, including copper sulfate, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide,
potassium permanganate, sodium bicarbonate and the important: sulfuric acid, the
only strong acid that I could find. I had these little foam boxes that were my chemical
lab. With a bunch of test tubes, these
The Pepsi Of Coca Cola
Many beverages have been produced and manufactured over time, but there has
never been a drink that makes your mouth water as your hear the pop of the bottle
opening, a drink that bubbles in your mouth as you drink it, a drink that has an
even richer history and more efficient company than any other. This drink is
French Wine Cola. At least that is what John Stith Pemberton, the creator of Coca
Cola, called it before his bookkeeper, Frank Robinson, suggested the now famous
name Coca Cola(Library of Congress). Robinson also suggested adding the slogan,
delicious and refreshing, to all of Coke s ads. Coca Cola is a beverage that has
been successful for many years.Though most people would tell you Coca Cola is
just a drink, it is more than just a soft drink. Coke, created by a man who lived in
Columbus, Ga, started out as a medicine, has a unique bottling, and is a very
interesting piece of history as a business and as a soft drink. Coca Cola was

2 Analysis of Southwest Airlines 3.8 Industry
The recent economical and financial downturn severely impacted the airline industry
in 2009 and brought only small increases in 2010. The recession negatively
influenced the discretional income of travellers. More precisely, the leisure travellers
and business travellers budget changes resulted with a sudden decrease in their
demand. Therefore, corporate policies tightened and generally the demand for
travelling decreased. On the other hand, demand for substitute products, such as
video conferences and surface travel, has increased. As a result, many airlines,
including Southwest Airlines, responded with capacity cuts and fare discounting. On
the other hand, Southwest used the opportunity also to further expand and because
of its low fare services, it could enter new markets as well. 3.9 Company s Overview
Southwest Airlines is described on the NASDAQ profile as a major passenger
airline that provides scheduled air transportation in the US . The company
primarily serves short haul routes, but over the recent years they have expanded
their services to medium and long haul routes as well. Their unique feature is that
it only operates with Boeing 737 as it is a domestic low cost carrier company and it
was necessary to have aircrafts that are easy to maintain and repair. If a company
only uses one type of aircraft, the technical issues are

Childhood Cancer Clusters in California s Central Valley Case report :Sakshi Arora
March 22, 2012 This case study examines childhood cancers in agricultural
communities of Mc Farland and Earlimart from 1978 to 1995. According to the local
residents of these communities the main reason for cancer is contamination through
pesticide in the agricultural farms which is the major source of employment for the
residents of the community. McFarland is a small community in Kern County, with
the population of about 6200, located at the southern end of California s San Joaquin
Valley. They are the main source of cotton and Almond in the area. Census Data of

According to the residents, pesticides are the main cause of increasing number of
child death rate in the area. Mcfarland and Earlimart are small communities who
are not engaged in lot of activities. Victim s parents have been examined and most
of them reported it is caused by pesticides whereas some residents living have
reported that no such incident has been observed in their families. Their main
occupation is agriculture in the farms where pesticide is being used. They have
reported contamination of water is also one of the reasons for the cancer. The case
unfolds the number of cases which happened with the people throughout the
period. They also reported that in spite of informing the harmful effect of the
pesticides to their boss .To which no action has been taken instead their
interference in such matter would a reason of them to be fired from the job. The
figures of The California Department of Food and Agriculture revealed that there
are more than 1,200 cases in California alone in 1986 based on worker
compensation records. Nationwide, one estimate calculated as many as 313,000
pesticide related illnesses among farm worker each year. Dr. Marion Moses, a San
Francisco physician active with farm worker groups and a member of the pesticide
advisory committee of the Environmental Protection Agency said the main reason for

Important Components Involved In Learning To Read
There are many important components involved in learning to read, however, five
main aspects stand out. These being early experiences with language and print,
phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary and fluency. All of these elements are
important and depend on each other to generate the ultimate goal for reading which
is comprehension. Teachers need to have a comprehensive understanding of the
process of learningto read, intensive knowledge of effective strategies to help
children thrive when learning to read
The reading process begins well before children start school where the introduction to
language comes from parents providing a rich environment surrounded by suitable
oral language experiences, exposure to a range of books, and the ... Show more

Phonics is imperative to learning to read because it allows for the reader to
distinguish these associations in letters and words that they read to captivate
comprehension (Walbank Bisby, 2016). At the preschool grade, knowledge of the
alphabetic principles should be extensive and in depth, however, too much focus can
lead to over application of this skills having words read but not comprehended. The
directional approach for teaching phonics should be precise, articulated well with
graphemes organised in a logical and systematic way allowing plenty of time to
recite the new skills received inherited obtained attained gained acquired (Learning
Point Associates, 2004). Likewise, with phonological awareness the expertise of
listening to the sounds in phonemes and words, phonics helps complete the process
of sounding out to decode what has been read to eventually move onto the primary
goal of learning to read being comprehension (Fellows Oakley, 2014). Another
approach is to teach phonics is the analytical technique in which the teacher guides
students to observe phonemes and graphemes by scrutinising full words to bring forth
another critical thinking skill required to understand what the text means (Ewing
Maher, 2014). This essential component combined with
United Essay
Throughout first year Sem we have talked about a lot of different subjects that
ultimately tie all together as one. The main theme for the year is a call to family
and community. To go over this we read United by Cory Booker. United wasn t
just used to be read but it was used to help us think and connect to what is going on
in the real world. To use this connection we used examples of current events, to use
a real world application. In doing this it s made me think more about the world and
what could be done to help with the little issues. In current events we had talked
about many different things. Mostly they consisted of politics, race or killings all
around the world. Hearing about some of these was heartbreaking but important to...

One of my favorite events that happened this semester during first year sem was
hearing the voices from inside. Getting to hear these quick poems that these
women wrote was amazing. Most were good and came from the heart. Hearing
from these women made me want to talk with some of them after. When I did go to
talk to them I heard about some of their experiences and get to know why doing
this program helps. Some of them were into some hard stuff and lost some of their
family and loved ones because of it. They get ten minutes to write their piece and
they really write what they are thinking. Some talk about their time in jail through
a poem and others talk about what it was like before getting convicted. It would be
fun to hear more from them. Another thing we did was have a talk with Alaina
DiGeorgio about having privilege. Doing the bead activity made you think about
what privilege you have. Going through the list made you think more about what
people actually go through on a daily basis. Some people don t get the items that
we have or even the family and friends we might have. There are so many new
issues happening in the world people are losing out on some of the great things
that we have as well. The last activity I talked about ties into United a little bit.
Reading United I was reminded about ow little people only a few hours away have.
If they had done the bead activity it would be harder for them because maybe they
might not have the same experiences we have.

1.At the beginning of the Tertiary, there is a layer of andesite breccia a fast cooling
extrusive rock that has not traveled far from its original deposition. This indicates a
volcanic depositional environment. This formation was then intruded by intrusive
slower cooling rocks that create a noncomformity between it and the Walker
formation. The tuff breccia in the Walker formation is consistent with the same
depositional environment as the andesite breccia formation as they are both extrusive
rocks. It is possible that there was an eruption from a volcano that deposited the
highly viscous andesite rocks followed by slower falling ash, which was then ... Show

The Freeman Jewett shale formation is a strong indicator of a low energy/quiet
depositional environment. It is likely this layer was originally deposited offshore
in a marine environment. This is further supported by the following Bena Gravel
formation, which is emblematic of a transitional beach type environment with
pebble size sand and gravel. This coarser layer of sand and gravel overlying the
silty and sandy shale could be evidence for a regressive cycle and receding sea
levels. The Bena Gravel formation is eroded by Kern River Gravel which creates a
disconformity in the stratigraphy. The Kern River Gravel has stream like deposits
but since it cuts through the Bena Gravel Formation it is suggestive the Kern River
Gravel formation has a delta depositional environment. The Terrace formation
suggests a stream depositional environment. If terracing is present, it indicates a
decrease in discharge over time. The next formation, Alluvium, is evidence of an
alluvial fan deposition, a glacial deposition that has been reworked by meltwater, or
of a dried lake bed. (Levin p.86). Regardless of which, the Alluvium formation gives
away easily to mass wasting to from the landslide formation.
Most alluvial fan deposits occur near the margins of the depositional basin because
they occur in low areas at the base of the Temblor formation or Sierra Nevada s. The
marine deposits, beach
Analysis Of Of Mice And Men
Critical Analysis on Of Mice and Men In 1992 Gary Sinise directed the tragic film
Of Mice and Men. The story is about George Milton and Lennie Small, two friends
who travel together in search of work. Though Lennie is very calm and harmless
he isn t very smart and is unaware of his strength, which leads him into trouble. A
New York Times article describes him this way; Lennie is a gentle giant of a man
with the mental capacities of an 8 year old. He loves to fondle soft things, like
mice, puppies and rabbits, even a small piece of velvet. Through the eyes of
Lennie and George the audience sees the special relationship that they share.
However there is a larger theme at play in the film. Though George has Lennie by
his side, Lennie s companionship seems to offer George very little relief from his
loneliness. The people they encounter and the irony of the duo s situation portray
the theme of loneliness in the film. The film begins with a scene of George and
Lennie running from a posse of men with dogs and guns. After escaping their
pursuers they are left on a train to nowhere, all alone. This is the first time that
George and Lennie s loneliness is revealed. In a following scene their isolation is
confirmed as they walk down an empty road taking them to another chance at work.
On the way, George notices that Lenny is playing with something. George finds that
Lennie has a dead mouse. Lennie has a habit of getting mice and petting them until
they die. When George takes
Machiavellian Policies Of Joseph Stalin
Joseph Stalin was born in Gori, a city in Georgia. He rose to power in 1929 when
he became the dictator of Soviet Union which was led by Vladimir Lenin s death
in 1924. In many of his actions Joseph Stalin clearly demonstrates the use of
Machiavellian laws, which were made by Niccolo Machiavelli, an Italian
renaissance writer, humanist, diplomat, historian and Politician. These political
philosophies are found in the book The prince published in 1532 about how a prince
should behave. The extent to which Stalin follows Machiavellian political
philosophies can be analyzed according to his policies on Punishing hard, fast and

Joseph Stalin took part in many conflicts throughout his time as dictator. Some
examples are the Chinese Soviet conflict which started in 1929, then the Xinjiang
war which took place during 1937. World war two from 1939 1945 where the Soviet
Union was betrayed by the Germans, causing them to act against them. Some other
examples are; the invasion of Poland and Bessarabia which took place during
WWII in 1939 which led to the Soviet Union and the Nazi Germans dividing the east
of Europe. Lastly The Cold war lasting 44 years from 1947 1991 where the Soviet
union spent more the 8 trillion dollars on nuclear bombs, weapons and military.
When it comes to spending on weapons instead of luxuries Joseph Stalin stuck to
this as 44% of money gained was used for the military, 3.3% of the population
worked for the military and 4.4% of citizens died during war. This demonstrated that
Stalin reflected the Machiavellian philosophy of A prince should have no other aim
or thought than war and it methods and practices prince who spend more on luxuries
than weapons have often lost power in his
Hungry For Some Ice Cream
Hungry for some ice cream? When many people think of ice cream the thought of
warm summer days, innocence, and even comfort come to mind. But in the viral
video ad of Little Baby s Ice Cream, This is a Special Time surely does not make
one think of these things. This odd and strange ice cream commercial caught my eye
and many others, ranging from ice cream lovers of all ages to Internet junkies
leaving us with creepy feelings and nightmares. The reasoning behind the eeriness
and nightmares all come from the rhetorical appeal of pathos, which is a quality that
evokes emotions (Dictionary.com). When analyzing Little Baby s Ice Cream
commercial, This is a Special Time, it shows the usage of pathos through the
combination of the imagery,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to the growing, piercing, round eyes, it gives off a sense of pure sensation as
the man continues to devour his delicious ice cream body self, but also gives a
sinister look to the audience as well. The look really makes the viewer truly feel
uncomfortable, leaving the hairs at the back of their necks stand. Thus, the actor
is able to lure the audience in by just the look of his eyes. Next, the actor was able
to portray his acting well throughout the ad by giving viewers an emotion of
disgust but also the philosophy of the company itself. The humanoid ice cream
man is able to provide a backstory through his acting. He is able to portray this by
showing the incredible sensation that devouring his own ice cream body provides
enjoyment and how his body is highly irresistible to not consume. Although the
humanoid ice cream figure is highly enjoying himself, the acting was able to give
off the emotion of disgust to viewers. The sensation of disgust is evident because
the full thought of devouring oneself and enjoying the process is a horrid vision.
The ad was able to show a sense of decrease in self and that the compulsiveness to
consume the delicious ice cream body is just too enticing. In fact, this symbolizes
Little Baby s Ice Cream Company itself. The title and acting in the video is how
visitors and consumers should react to the shop. One s experience at the homemade
ice cream shop located in Philadelphia should always be a special time. Due
Theories Of Tyrion-Targaryen
Among the hundreds of fan theories revolving around Game of Thrones
characters, the one about Tyrion being a Targaryen has been going strong for a
while. And now that season six has started airing, viewers have got some proof as
well. The second episode titled Home hinted at the authenticity of the theory in a
very convincing way. The moment appeared on screen when Tyrion decided to go
to the dungeon to free the dragons. As he tiptoed with a torch in his hand, it really
felt eerie and fans were terrified for no one wanted Tyrion to die. But many were
hopeful that the dragons would not harm him and this category included the fans who
had faith in the Tyrion Targaryen theory. And voila! The dragons did not hurt him at
all. It was really a

Lady Macbeth as the Real Driving Force Behind the Murder of King Duncan Even
though Macbeth is actually the murderer of King Duncan, It appears that he commits
this murder reluctantly and should not be blamed for the murder or bear the full
responsibility of the murder. The three witches and Lady Macbethactually played
significant roles in cajoling Macbeth into committing the murder and could be argued
that Lady Macbeth is the real driving force behind the murder of King Duncan.

The points stated above helps to highlight the roles played by the witches in the
murder of King Duncan.
Most people also believe that Macbeth is responsible for the murder of King
Duncan. Macbeth actually murders King Duncan, this makes him directly involved
in the murder but it can be argued that he was lured by Lady Macbeth and conned
by the witches into committing this murder. Lady Macbeth reads the letter from
Macbeth informing Her of His encounter with the witches and Lady Macbeth feels
Macbeth will be incapable of the murder as she says Glamis thou art, and Cawdor;
and shalt be What thou art promis d. Yet do I fear thy nature; It is too full o the milk

Lady Macbeth to commit the murder and this actually made him over ambitious.

Lake Mungo Analysis
Lake Mungo This article, titled New Ages for Human Occupation and Climatic
Change at Lake Mungo, Australia, was written by James M. Bowler, Harvey
Johnston, Jon M. Olley, and John R. Prescott et al and is about the ages of the three
different human remains that are located at the Lake Mungo site, which is in New
South Wales Australia. It tells about Lake Mungo I, Lake Mungo II, and Lake Mungo
III, which are all different remains of the oldest living humans in Australia. The
article also says that the remains are forty thousand years old and that their
mitochondrial DNA is estimated to be between thirty thousand years old and forty
two thousand years old (Bowler, Johnston, Olley, et al). The climatic change has aged
these three different human remains in ways that is significant for archaeologists....

The changes in weather in this arid climate and the sand on the shore of Lake Mungo
have made the stratigraphic layers help in dating these human remains. The reasons
for the age discrepancy include that the age of Mungo I was fifteen to twenty
thousand years older than previous radiocarbon based estimates. A significant
climatic change happened about forty thousand years ago causing burial practices to
adapt to drier conditions. Mungo Lady is the first know human cremation in human
history. Archaeologists have found evidence that leads them to believe that there
were human inhabitants that populated the Lake Mungo area that dated back to fifty
thousand years ago. The proof that these inhabitants lived here was that they found
out dated stone tools that were a lot older than that of the Mungo
All Quiet On The Western Front Essay
All Quiet on the Western Front Essay We learn about past wars in history. We hear
stories from soldiers that partake in these wars, but do we really understand what
goes on out on that battlefield? We would have to see and experience it ourselves to
fully grasp why soldiers come back so scarred. Not only physically but emotionally,
and socially as well. All quiet on the Western Frontby Erich Maria Remarqueis a story
told by a soldier named Paul Baumer. He shares his experiences of his service in
World War one. The realities of the war and the death that surrounded Paul Baumer
were so epic that he didn t even feel like he was himself when he visited home.

By telling them this they believed that when they returned from the war they
would be glorified from their town as war heroes. Kantorek set off some

Ageing Is Not A Disease, And Should Not Be Dreaded
Age comes with so many challenges including development of conditions that affect
the well being of the ageing individuals. There are so many people who would love
to remain youthful, but this is beyond the control of anybody. However, ageing is
not a disease, and should not be dreaded. In fact, old people still have so much to
offer to the society including the experiences they have accumulated over the years,
the wisdom they have learned, and sometimes they even have valuable skills which
they can pass on to the younger generations. Older people have so much information
within them and all that one needs to do is to consult their knowledge and learn from
those experiences. The World Health Organization states that, The ageingof the...

These changes are more likely the causes of stress and even depression if they are
not handled in the right manner. In fact, it is noteworthy to understand that for the
ageing to retire gracefully and not face those challenges, they need to plan their
retirement way before they are officially retired so that when they stop working, they
already have a plan which will not disrupt them so much from their activities, and,
therefore, they are able to transition to a new lifestyle easily. In so doing, the ageing
population also avoids developing diseases associated with depression, which could
make them lose functionality in the society.
As people age, they are exposed to many infections. In fact, it begins immediately a

Neoliberalism In Chile
The republic of Chile is home to a very diverse geographical setting, unlike
anywhere else on the planet. 2,650 miles of Pacific coastline makes up the western
border of Chile, while the eastern border is with Argentina, one third of it being
divided by the Andes Mountains and the remaining being direct. To the north, Chile
borders Peru and Bolivia, although the declared borders of these countries are
separated from Chile by the Atacama Desert. Aside from the mainland of Chile,
Chile also claims sovereignty over Easter Island and, due to its relative close distance
from Antarctica, it also claims sovereignty over approximately 483,000 square miles

This is a result from the economy being built upon neoliberalism ideology and a free
market economy, while being infused with socialist and capitalist principles. Aspects
of neoliberalism include a reliance on local and global free markets, with the state
maintaining a minimal role of the political economy. In fact, based on the 2014 Index
of Economic Freedom, Chile has the 7th freest market in the entire world, ranking
ahead of even the United States. These aspects are evident in the Chilean government
s approach to the economy, as they favor foreign investment and international trade.
One way in which the Chilean government has attempted to increase the amount of
foreign investment is through their privatization of Chilean ports, waste water
treatment facilities and private investment in the construction and operation of
domestic infrastructure. The Chilean government chooses to have a limited role in
the regulation of the economy, with the only heavily regulated aspects consisting of
utilities, the banking system, security markets and pension funds. These free market
principles of Chile can be seen as very capitalistic, this is due to the fact that much
of the economic suffering during Allende s rule was because of his socialist policies.
A large part of Chile s economic success is a result of their willingness to participate
in capitalistic means. They are a very favorable foreign investment, considering how
supportive the government is of foreign investment, which happens to be the basis
that the economy thrives on. Foreign countries feel confident in their investments in
Chile due to the stability and the easy going nature of the government. Countries such
as the United States, Canada, Mexico, along with the rest of South America, are
some of the biggest exporters of Chilean
The Pros And Cons Of Peyton Manning
It was a freezing night, with snow glazing over the three hundred and sixty foot
field. The previously undefeated Patriots stood like goliath, immune to death glares
and boos echoing around the Denver stadium. The swirl of the snow made it
difficult to see exactly where the ball was, but near the end of the night, it was clear
that the Broncos would soon defeat their giant, all the while being lead by an
intrepid, young quarterback. This astonishing win wasn t just a victory for the
Broncos, but for Brock Osweiler as well.
As much as Broncos fans were joyful for the win over the Patriots on November

lies around Denver s two quarterbacks, Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler. Peyton
Manning, who once seemed like a paragon for the sport is now slipping from football

Shamanism Research Paper
Shamanism
To truly understand the meaning of shamanism one must uncover the original
definition. The word shaman comes from the language of the Evenk, a small Tungus
speaking group of hunters and reindeer herders from Siberia. It was first used only
to designate a religious specialist from this region. By the beginning of the 20th
century it was already being applied to a variety of North America and South
American practices from the present and the past. Today people have gone as far as
defining the word shaman as any human that acknowledges that he/she has had
contact with spiritual entities. Well at least the term still refers to human beings.

The fact is that well philosophers can speculate, even by the vaguest definition of
shamanism they can not prove that these individuals were taking part in these trance
like states without written or physical proof.
Due to the theory of shamanism being introduced into the Mesoamerican culture
because of the writings of Eliade and Furst, it seems only fair to look carefully at the
relevance to their interpretations. Eliade had originally acknowledged the oddity
concerning the concept of shamanism and, in turn, took it into his own hands to
create a version this concept himself. (Klein, pg. 388) I can not reasonable enter into
the idea of this model that he has created. He clearly explains the existence of
shamanism in Siberia and inner Asia, in which there has been, documented proof.
The idea that because this is happening there does not prove that it was happening
over 2000 years ago across the world. He fails to connect the two areas, in time and
place, feasible. It is extremely interesting that only Eliade s point of view is found in
the Encyclopedia of Religion. (Eliade 201 208)
Despite Furst s attempt to redefine shamanism in terms of specific American
religious beliefs and practices, the new criteria he provided have proved to be as
unreliable as Eliade s. It repeatedly insists that the concepts of the universe divided
horizontally into an upper world, a terrestrial middle world, and an underworld in the

York University. (Bermudez, 2010) The Code of Ethics should reflect the policies,
processes, and controls of the organization it was written for. One of the most
tempting things to do would be to copy policies from another institution for the
purposes of attempting to create a best practices document. Unless doing so is a true
reflection of the principle organizations business processes and practices the Code
will not efficiently create the protective shell nor will it help to inspire and direct the
staff within the organization. In Kyarimpa s book review of Svara James The Ethics

points out the authors statement that duty based ethics is inherent in public servants
because they enter the profession motivated by a sense of duty to serve. Attention to
inclusion of that sense of servitude in the institution s mission, motto, and Code of

Images Of The Virgin Mary Nursing Christ
1. What was the original function and significance of images of the Virgin Mary
nursing Christ (called Virgo Lactans, or Madonna del Latte)?
Images of the Virgin Mary nursing Christ were originally intended not as
pornography, but as visuals that depicted the nourishment of a child. The social
setting of when these images emerge helps explain why these images of exposed
breasts were perceived as tolerable. During the mid fourteenth century Europe
experienced a severe food crisis. With the fertilities rates increasing and the food
supply of the previous century depleting Europe was left to face severe famine. With
this in mind one can understand why the popularity of the image of the nursing
Virgin Mary grew at this time. The nursing Virgin Mary depicted an image of
nutrition and stability that appealed to the people living through this unpredictable
time (Miles 29). Aside from being an appealing concept to the people who were
facing wide instability it also provided the church a way to drive a message. The
church utilized this image as a way to promote breastfeeding among mothers. The
fourteenth century Tuscan child care manuals discussed in Mile s text explained the
need for this breastfeeding propaganda. The manuals were designed to warn mothers
of the dangers of feeding their children milk from animals, and of wet nurses. Popular
preachers even took it upon themselves to push the message of breastfeeding in their
sermons. Bernardino of Siena urged maternal suckling in his

are taken from the King James Version of the Bible. Spiritual Baptists believe their
religion was derived from John the Baptist. This religion is a system of beliefs and
practices e.g. baptism, pilgrimages, thanksgiving and mourning. Some of the items
used within this religion include the shepherd rod, cross, tariya, lothar, water,
calabash, flowers, candles and candle sticks, incense and bell. It also involves being
filled with the spirit, shouting, speaking in unknown tongues, ringing of bells, and
providing spiritual assistance to those in need (Peza, 1999).

The play Heartbreaker is a fictitious story done by Michael Golamco. It features
two main characters, Vithy, who is a sixteen year old teenager and her elder sister
Ra who is aged twenty two years. The play takes place in a solemn setting down in a
small apartment bedroom. The room does not contain a lot of things; it is empty
except for some few basic properties that make a bedroom. They events of the play
take place at Long Beach in the California region. Michael Golamco has used the

He objects to this suggestion as he keeps persisting to his sister for her to allow him
to go with her. Her sister is still defensive, rigid and seems like she is not feeling the
plea her brother was making as she indirect objects his plea by citing a reason that
she has a small place in back in Berkeley. It is one room with just a hot plate. Also,
the fact that ... Glen had parked his stuffs in the station , was another of the reasons
his sister was giving in order to convince him to stay with their aunt. This did not
sound as a good idea for Vuthy, to him; there was no reason that substantiated his
staying around with their aunt. He saw all attempts as avenues of leaving him lonely
again, which on realizing this, he fought as much as he could in order to avoid this.
The theme of loneliness is also featured when their mother left them. She died
some time back when Vuthy was still young. In her words, Ra expresses the reason
why she died. She claims that Vuthy made their mother sick through ... being weird
for not having friends (Burroway, 2011). Therefore, she became sick because of
that. Here, Vuthy is portrayed to be a Loney fellow, according to his sister, she is
weird in her lonely nature. A nature that does not allow him to have friends. Though
she knew that her brother had friends, Vuthy confesses that they all left and he is
now alone with no one close to him. This has made him equally
Identifying Areas That Expose Hospitals Essay
Identifying areas that expose hospitals to WSPEs are critical for managing risks. Key
recommendations for safety improvement include mandatory reporting of near
misses, improving safety education, improving time out effectiveness, addressing the
unique needs of LEP patients, and monitoring time out effectiveness and compliance.
Mandatory Reporting of Near Misses. Reporting near misses is fundamental to
error prevention. Near misses reflect potential failures in current processes, which
proves invaluable for proactively reducing errors. According to Neily et al. (2011, p.
xx), the prevalence of medical errors decrease when the rate of reporting near miss
events increase. Share lessons learned from patient safety events with all staff to
provide ongoing continuous learning and training. Wolf Hughes (2008, p. 601)
suggest near misses occur 300 times more often than actual adverse events.
Therefore, tracking and analyzing near misses will reveal system vulnerabilities,
determine frequency of error types, and predict the likelihood of a future error.
Education. Haugen et al. (2013, p. xx) claim a poor safety culture will undermine the
effectiveness of interventions like checklists. Knowledge changes perceptions and
can assist with shifting safety behaviors in a positive direction. Education is
paramount to creating a safety driven culture and an important tool for preventing
never events. To prevent another wrong patient surgery, education should focus on the

Addressing the diverse aspects of rural development, ranging from agricultural practices and economic disparities to social and infrastructural challenges, requires a nuanced approach. One of the primary challenges lies in navigating through the vast amount of information available on the topic. The multidimensional nature of rural development means that writers must delve into various disciplines, including economics, sociology, agriculture, and public policy, to create a well-rounded and informed essay. This necessitates meticulous research and the ability to synthesize information from different sources. Furthermore, articulating a coherent narrative that effectively communicates the complexities of rural development in India can be challenging. Striking a balance between providing a thorough analysis and ensuring the essay remains accessible to a diverse audience is crucial. The writer must carefully structure the essay to present a clear and logical progression of ideas, allowing readers to follow the argument without feeling overwhelmed by the vastness of the subject. Moreover, addressing the socio-economic and cultural diversity within India's rural landscape adds an additional layer of complexity. The writer must be sensitive to regional variations and be able to capture the unique challenges and opportunities faced by different communities. From a close reading of the text, it is clear that Clytemnestra had multiple reasons for doing what she did. Her anger and resentment towards her husband stemmed from a number of wrongs that he committed. The question readers are faced with is this: were Clytemnestras actions justified? Clytemnestra is a likeable character; she is a powerful woman who gets things done. Her suffering is great, and the audience feels sympathy for her. But were the means she used to deal with her situation morally acceptable? The answer, of course, is no. However, evidence from the text will show that Clytemnestra truly felt like she had no other choice. That is not enough to exonerate her from her crimes; it will explain why she killed Agamemnon, but not excuse it. On the surface, Clytemnestra s initial reason for killing Agamemnon is to avenge the death of their daughter, Iphigenia. • 7. I Am Born With A Dual Major Program I was born with a keen curiosity and I find it very difficult to stop wondering how things work, especially if it includes STEM. Born and raised in a poor family where opportunities were both rare and expensive, I struggled as much as I could to never stop being fascinated by nature, and in part, I have indeed been successful. In fact, I believe that this struggle helped me outrank everyone during my high school and help me achieve significant accomplishments, such as being finalist in my country s largest software development competition. I came to the United States with hopes and dreams of further exploring my interests. Here at Southeastern, I have been enrolled in a dual major program in computerscience and physics. Since it is extremely hard for my parents who are going to retire within this year to fund for my education, I have to rely on scholarship awards for the continuation of my education at Southeastern. Thus, I am hereby applying for the J.E. and Mattye Lou Martin Scholarship and if possible, Norman Higginbotham Scholarship. Let me demonstrate my passion regarding STEM with a few examples. When I was in grade five, I had built my own collection of chemicals that I could find in the household, including copper sulfate, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, potassium permanganate, sodium bicarbonate and the important: sulfuric acid, the only strong acid that I could find. I had these little foam boxes that were my chemical lab. With a bunch of test tubes, these

The Pepsi Of Coca Cola Many beverages have been produced and manufactured over time, but there has never been a drink that makes your mouth water as your hear the pop of the bottle opening, a drink that bubbles in your mouth as you drink it, a drink that has an even richer history and more efficient company than any other. This drink is French Wine Cola. At least that is what John Stith Pemberton, the creator of Coca Cola, called it before his bookkeeper, Frank Robinson, suggested the now famous name Coca Cola(Library of Congress). Robinson also suggested adding the slogan, delicious and refreshing, to all of Coke s ads. Coca Cola is a beverage that has been successful for many years.Though most people would tell you Coca Cola is just a drink, it is more than just a soft drink. Coke, created by a man who lived in Columbus, Ga, started out as a medicine, has a unique bottling, and is a very interesting piece of history as a business and as a soft drink. The recession negatively influenced the discretional income of travellers. More precisely, the leisure travellers and business travellers budget changes resulted with a sudden decrease in their demand. Therefore, corporate policies tightened and generally the demand for travelling decreased. On the other hand, demand for substitute products, such as video conferences and surface travel, has increased. As a result, many airlines, including Southwest Airlines, responded with capacity cuts and fare discounting. On the other hand, Southwest used the opportunity also to further expand and because of its low fare services, it could enter new markets as well. 3.9 Company s Overview Southwest Airlines is described on the NASDAQ profile as a major passenger airline that provides scheduled air transportation in the US . The company primarily serves short haul routes, but over the recent years they have expanded their services to medium and long haul routes as well. Their unique feature is that it only operates with Boeing 737 as it is a domestic low cost carrier company and it was necessary to have aircrafts that are easy to maintain and repair. These being early experiences with language and print, phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary and fluency. All of these elements are important and depend on each other to generate the ultimate goal for reading which is comprehension. Teachers need to have a comprehensive understanding of the process of learningto read, intensive knowledge of effective strategies to help children thrive when learning to read The reading process begins well before children start school where the introduction to language comes from parents providing a rich environment surrounded by suitable oral language experiences, exposure to a range of books, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Phonics is imperative to learning to read because it allows for the reader to distinguish these associations in letters and words that they read to captivate comprehension (Walbank Bisby, 2016). At the preschool grade, knowledge of the alphabetic principles should be extensive and in depth, however, too much focus can lead to over application of this skills having words read but not comprehended. The directional approach for teaching phonics should be precise, articulated well with graphemes organised in a logical and systematic way allowing plenty of time to recite the new skills received inherited obtained attained gained acquired (Learning Point Associates, 2004). Likewise, with phonological awareness the expertise of listening to the sounds in phonemes and words, phonics helps complete the process of sounding out to decode what has been read to eventually move onto the primary goal of learning to read being comprehension (Fellows Oakley, 2014). Another approach is to teach phonics is the analytical technique in which the teacher guides students to observe phonemes and graphemes by scrutinising full words to bring forth another critical thinking skill required to understand what the text means (Ewing Maher, 2014). To go over this we read United by Cory Booker. United wasn t just used to be read but it was used to help us think and connect to what is going on in the real world. To use this connection we used examples of current events, to use a real world application. In doing this it s made me think more about the world and what could be done to help with the little issues. In current events we had talked about many different things. Mostly they consisted of politics, race or killings all around the world. Hearing about some of these was heartbreaking but important to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of my favorite events that happened this semester during first year sem was hearing the voices from inside. Getting to hear these quick poems that these women wrote was amazing. Most were good and came from the heart. Hearing from these women made me want to talk with some of them after. When I did go to talk to them I heard about some of their experiences and get to know why doing this program helps. Some of them were into some hard stuff and lost some of their family and loved ones because of it. They get ten minutes to write their piece and they really write what they are thinking. Some talk about their time in jail through a poem and others talk about what it was like before getting convicted. It would be fun to hear more from them. Another thing we did was have a talk with Alaina DiGeorgio about having privilege. Doing the bead activity made you think about what privilege you have. Going through the list made you think more about what people actually go through on a daily basis. Some people don t get the items that we have or even the family and friends we might have. There are so many new issues happening in the world people are losing out on some of the great things that we have as well. The last activity I talked about ties into United a little bit. Reading United I was reminded about ow little people only a few hours away have. If they had done the bead activity it would be harder for them because maybe they might not have the same experiences we have.

This indicates a volcanic depositional environment. This formation was then intruded by intrusive slower cooling rocks that create a noncomformity between it and the Walker formation. The tuff breccia in the Walker formation is consistent with the same depositional environment as the andesite breccia formation as they are both extrusive rocks. The Freeman Jewett shale formation is a strong indicator of a low energy/quiet depositional environment. It is likely this layer was originally deposited offshore in a marine environment. This is further supported by the following Bena Gravel formation, which is emblematic of a transitional beach type environment with pebble size sand and gravel. This coarser layer of sand and gravel overlying the silty and sandy shale could be evidence for a regressive cycle and receding sea levels. The Bena Gravel formation is eroded by Kern River Gravel which creates a disconformity in the stratigraphy. The Kern River Gravel has stream like deposits but since it cuts through the Bena Gravel Formation it is suggestive the Kern River Gravel formation has a delta depositional environment. The Terrace formation suggests a stream depositional environment. If terracing is present, it indicates a decrease in discharge over time. The next formation, Alluvium, is evidence of an alluvial fan deposition, a glacial deposition that has been reworked by meltwater, or of a dried lake bed. (Levin p.86). Regardless of which, the Alluvium formation gives away easily to mass wasting to from the landslide formation. The story is about George Milton and Lennie Small, two friends who travel together in search of work. Though Lennie is very calm and harmless he isn t very smart and is unaware of his strength, which leads him into trouble. A New York Times article describes him this way; Lennie is a gentle giant of a man with the mental capacities of an 8 year old. He loves to fondle soft things, like mice, puppies and rabbits, even a small piece of velvet. Through the eyes of Lennie and George the audience sees the special relationship that they share. However there is a larger theme at play in the film. Though George has Lennie by his side, Lennie s companionship seems to offer George very little relief from his loneliness. The people they encounter and the irony of the duo s situation portray the theme of loneliness in the film. The film begins with a scene of George and Lennie running from a posse of men with dogs and guns. After escaping their pursuers they are left on a train to nowhere, all alone. This is the first time that George and Lennie s loneliness is revealed. In a following scene their isolation is confirmed as they walk down an empty road taking them to another chance at work. On the way, George notices that Lenny is playing with something. George finds that Lennie has a dead mouse. Lennie has a habit of getting mice and petting them until they die. When George takes

Neoliberalism In Chile The republic of Chile is home to a very diverse geographical setting, unlike anywhere else on the planet. 2,650 miles of Pacific coastline makes up the western border of Chile, while the eastern border is with Argentina, one third of it being divided by the Andes Mountains and the remaining being direct. To the north, Chile borders Peru and Bolivia, although the declared borders of these countries are separated from Chile by the Atacama Desert. This is a result from the economy being built upon neoliberalism ideology and a free market economy, while being infused with socialist and capitalist principles. Aspects of neoliberalism include a reliance on local and global free markets, with the state maintaining a minimal role of the political economy. In fact, based on the 2014 Index of Economic Freedom, Chile has the 7th freest market in the entire world, ranking ahead of even the United States. These aspects are evident in the Chilean government s approach to the economy, as they favor foreign investment and international trade. One way in which the Chilean government has attempted to increase the amount of foreign investment is through their privatization of Chilean ports, waste water treatment facilities and private investment in the construction and operation of domestic infrastructure. The Chilean government chooses to have a limited role in the regulation of the economy, with the only heavily regulated aspects consisting of utilities, the banking system, security markets and pension funds. These free market principles of Chile can be seen as very capitalistic, this is due to the fact that much of the economic suffering during Allende s rule was because of his socialist policies. A large part of Chile s economic success is a result of their willingness to participate in capitalistic means. They are a very favorable foreign investment, considering how supportive the government is of foreign investment, which happens to be the basis that the economy thrives on. Foreign countries feel confident in their investments in Chile due to the stability and the easy going nature of the government. • 29. The Pros And Cons Of Peyton Manning It was a freezing night, with snow glazing over the three hundred and sixty foot field. The previously undefeated Patriots stood like goliath, immune to death glares and boos echoing around the Denver stadium. The swirl of the snow made it difficult to see exactly where the ball was, but near the end of the night, it was clear that the Broncos would soon defeat their giant, all the while being lead by an intrepid, young quarterback. This astonishing win wasn t just a victory for the Broncos, but for Brock Osweiler as well. As much as Broncos fans were joyful for the win over the Patriots on November 30th, it only deepened the conundrum that surrounds the mile high team. The word shaman comes from the language of the Evenk, a small Tungus speaking group of hunters and reindeer herders from Siberia. Due to the theory of shamanism being introduced into the Mesoamerican culture because of the writings of Eliade and Furst, it seems only fair to look carefully at the relevance to their interpretations. Eliade had originally acknowledged the oddity concerning the concept of shamanism and, in turn, took it into his own hands to create a version this concept himself. (Klein, pg. 388) I can not reasonable enter into the idea of this model that he has created. He clearly explains the existence of shamanism in Siberia and inner Asia, in which there has been, documented proof. The idea that because this is happening there does not prove that it was happening over 2000 years ago across the world. He fails to connect the two areas, in time and place, feasible. It is extremely interesting that only Eliade s point of view is found in the Encyclopedia of Religion. (Eliade 201 208) Despite Furst s attempt to redefine shamanism in terms of specific American religious beliefs and practices, the new criteria he provided have proved to be as unreliable as Eliade s. It repeatedly insists that the concepts of the universe divided horizontally into an upper world, a terrestrial middle world, and an underworld in the sense that

  • 35. Images Of The Virgin Mary Nursing Christ 1. What was the original function and significance of images of the Virgin Mary nursing Christ (called Virgo Lactans, or Madonna del Latte)? Images of the Virgin Mary nursing Christ were originally intended not as pornography, but as visuals that depicted the nourishment of a child. The social setting of when these images emerge helps explain why these images of exposed breasts were perceived as tolerable. During the mid fourteenth century Europe experienced a severe food crisis. With the fertilities rates increasing and the food supply of the previous century depleting Europe was left to face severe famine. With this in mind one can understand why the popularity of the image of the nursing Virgin Mary grew at this time. The nursing Virgin Mary depicted an image of nutrition and stability that appealed to the people living through this unpredictable time (Miles 29). Aside from being an appealing concept to the people who were facing wide instability it also provided the church a way to drive a message. The church utilized this image as a way to promote breastfeeding among mothers. The fourteenth century Tuscan child care manuals discussed in Mile s text explained the need for this breastfeeding propaganda. The manuals were designed to warn mothers of the dangers of feeding their children milk from animals, and of wet nurses. Popular preachers even took it upon themselves to push the message of breastfeeding in their sermons. Bernardino of Siena urged maternal suckling in his

Mandatory Reporting of Near Misses. Reporting near misses is fundamental to error prevention. Near misses reflect potential failures in current processes, which proves invaluable for proactively reducing errors. According to Neily et al. Share lessons learned from patient safety events with all staff to provide ongoing continuous learning and training. Wolf Hughes (2008, p. 601) suggest near misses occur 300 times more often than actual adverse events. Therefore, tracking and analyzing near misses will reveal system vulnerabilities, determine frequency of error types, and predict the likelihood of a future error. Education. Haugen et al.
