TOPIC : ROTATING PLATINUM ELECTRODE
ROLL : 86
GUIDANCE : MRS.PRIYANKA GAIKWAD
PRESENTED : YASH PRAMOD PAWAR
Content…
RPE :-
 Working
 Application
Working…
 Rotating Platinum Electrode is used as an indicator
electrode
 This Electrode is rotated at constant speed of 600 rpm
( revolutions per minute )
 A graph is plotted between the volume of solution added
v/s diffusion current and the end point is dettected
TYPES OF PLATINUM WIRE USED IN RPM
To the analyte solution, supporting electrolyte like
KCl is added i.e. 50-100 times of sample
concentration.
 Pure nitrogen gas is bubbled through the solution
to expel out the dissolved oxygen
The electrodes are connected to the cell which
gives the end point of titration in the form of graph
Potential created in RPE is +0.9 Volte
 Application…
• Amperometric Titration…
This is a class of titration in which the equivalence
point is determined through measurement of electrical
current
• Qualitative and Quantitative analysis
• Determination of organic and inorganic compounds
• Determination of Br , Ag , Fe+2
• Estimation of dissolved oxygen
