Introduction to IBM Watson IoT for Predictive Maintenance and Optimization with Maximo
Speaker: Andrew Condos, IBM
Overview: Optimizing asset performance is crucial to the cost effective and efficient operation of asset-intensive organizations. Scheduled maintenance procedures help to achieve this goal, but the key to unlocking real productivity improvements is in predicting how an asset operates over its entire life-cycle.
This session will introduce you to how companies are using IBM Watson IoT Predictive Maintenance and Optimization with Maximo to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. IBM PMO with Maximo applies machine learning to prescribe actions based on predictive scoring, identifies factors that positively and negatively influence asset health and delivers a detailed comparison of historical factors affecting asset performance.
Maximo and a roadmap for your IoT journeyHelen Fisher
For IBM customers, the Internet of Things (IoT) enables businesses to improve operations, rapidly connect devices and to lower costs. This is why IBM Maximo Asset Management now sits neatly in the Watson IoT portfolio. There are many business cases out there today for linking IoT and Maximo, IBM are not, however, diverting from their core value statements. Maximo is still about understanding asset availability, preventing failures, maximising resources, increasing reliability, understanding inventory needs and costs, and plant safety. Check out the key investment areas for 2016 and beyond.
Maximo has traditionally been a very powerful maintenance management tool, but with pressures from a new younger workforce and competing products, there are a lot of new and exciting investment areas coming up for 2016.

How to Balance System Speed and Risk for Multi-Platform InnovationClaudia Ring
Walking the line between speed to market and stability of mission-critical systems is something many enterprise organizations deal with on a consistent basis, especially when planning a major application release. Multi-speed IT is a term that connotes the difficulty of balancing speed and risk for these enterprises, but also one that inherently defines a solution; moving at different speeds depending on system requirements. While moving at various speeds based on whether you are releasing changes for Systems of Engagement (SOE) or Systems of Record (SOR) can seem negative, it can be used as a stepping stone towards complete enterprise agility and iterative improvements in release management across both types of systems. Join Rosalind Radcliffe, IBM Distinguished Engineer and Chief Architect for DevOps, as she discusses;
How to begin incorporating continuous testing into the release cycle for both SOE's and SOR's
How deployment automation can be incorporated into multi-platform deployments
How earlier, more frequent testing and automated deployments can help stabilize risk while increasing speed
Customer success with using these testing and deployment solutions to achieve agility across both SOE's and SOR's
IBM Interconnect 2016
To address a diverse set of needs coming from many quadrants (IoT, Shadow IT, SaaS adoption, etc.), IBM recognizes that the integration market must take a revolutionary step to get ahead of the needs of our customers. Enter the "Hybrid Integration Platform,” IBM's vision to evolve into the next generation of highly-productive integration offerings. In this session, we describe how IBM's Hybrid Integration Platform draws together the capabilities of its constituent parts—IBM AppConnect, Cast Iron, IBM Integration Bus, API Management and Bluemix—into a cohesive set of integration capabilities to enable digital transformation for the enterprise. This is a technical session focusing on architecture and technical details.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

The Industry Solutions are offerings that differentiate Maximo and win against competitors in key industries. Each solution has a focused team and unique roadmap, driven by customer development partners and market demands.
Add-on solutions enable clients to extend the capabilities of core Maximo to meet the needs of how they run there work management organizations.
Based on our customer requirements and feedback, over the past few years we’ve invested in building out the Scheduler, Anywhere and Spatial add on products. Many of the requests and enhancements have been based on improving the way resources can be better managed using Maximo. Specifically as it relates to planned work, available resources, optimizing the labor usage, easily identifying geographically dispersed assets (mapping), and improved communications (mobile).
These products, plus the introduction of Scheduler Plus, give us a solid base for extending Maximo to meet the demands of the Field Workforce Management market, allowing our customers to manage all their resources and improve how they run their operations, all within Maximo.
Optional 3 years extended support contract available.
Plan to introduce and expand offerings based on continuous delivery model
Initially available in Maximo SaaS
Beta in March with first 3 Work Centers
Technology will used for other new offerings (Asset Health, Worker and Process Safety, Maximo Watson Analytics)
With a combination of Maximo Asset Management (our core EAM solution), our scheduling and dispatching solutions (Scheduler and Scheduler Plus), and our mobile solution (Anywhere), we offer a comprehensive solution to our clients, enabling them to address their FWM requirements with a single system of record – Maximo.
So, everything from planning and scheduling of work, to booking customer appointments, to assigning and dispatching the technicians, and finally tracking the work progress in real-time can all be achieved with Maximo. This eliminates the need to go with a third party tool and worrying about all the challenges that come along with it.
