The Nairobi river basin in Kenya has experienced severe water pollution and environmental degradation due to waste from various sources. Participatory gender training for farmer groups

Intersectoral cooperation is important for achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) at the basin level. Almost two-thirds of the global landmass is covered by international river basins, making transboundary cooperation critical. The Danube River Basin covers 14 countries and is an example of successful intersectoral cooperation through its International Commission. Stakeholder involvement and integrated management plans have helped balance sectors like agriculture, flood management, hydropower and navigation. This approach has led to accelerated implementation of policies and created benefits for involved sectors while achieving compliance with environmental legislation.

Power Grid Model
The global energy transition is placing new and unprecedented demands on Distribution System Operators (DSOs). Alongside upgrades to grid capacity, processes such as digitization, capacity optimization, and congestion management are becoming vital for delivering reliable services.
Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.

ABSTRACT: A prima vista, un mattoncino Lego e la backdoor XZ potrebbero avere in comune il fatto di essere entrambi blocchi di costruzione, o dipendenze di progetti creativi e software. La realtà è che un mattoncino Lego e il caso della backdoor XZ hanno molto di più di tutto ciò in comune.
Partecipate alla presentazione per immergervi in una storia di interoperabilità, standard e formati aperti, per poi discutere del ruolo importante che i contributori hanno in una comunità open source sostenibile.
BIO: Sostenitrice del software libero e dei formati standard e aperti. È stata un membro attivo dei progetti Fedora e openSUSE e ha co-fondato l'Associazione LibreItalia dove è stata coinvolta in diversi eventi, migrazioni e formazione relativi a LibreOffice. In precedenza ha lavorato a migrazioni e corsi di formazione su LibreOffice per diverse amministrazioni pubbliche e privati. - Lenkijai priklauso 919 km2 Sesupes baseino (62 km)
- Vertinant taršos apkrovų poveikį, reikšmingu vadinamas toks poveikis dėl kurio upių būklė nebeatitinka geros ekologinės būklės reikalavimų. Kaip buvo matyti iš taršos apkrovų žemėlapio, didžiausia žemės ūkio tarša tenka vidurio Lietuvos pabaseiniams. Atlikti vertinimai rodo, kad dėl pasklidosios žemės ūkio taršos poveikio, geros ekologinės būklės reikalavimų neatitinka nitratų azoto koncentracijos daugelyje Nevėžio bei Šešupės pabaseinių upių. Nitratais užterštų upių taipogi yra Dubysos pabaseinyje. Keletas nitratais užterštų upių taip pat yra Jūros, Šventosios bei Neries pabaseiniuose. Iš viso, dėl žemės ūkyje susidarančios taršos, geros ekologinės būklės reikalavimų pagal NO3-N neatitinka 2114 km upių. Tai sudaro 21 proc. visų upių kategorijos vandens telkiniams priskiriamų upių ilgio. Atlikti skaičiavimai rodo, kad įgyvendinus pagrindines priemones, šiose upėse nitratų koncentracijos vis tiek viršys geros ekologinės būklės kriterijus. Todėl, norint pasiekti gerą jų būklę bus reikalingos papildomos žemės ūkio taršos mažinimo priemonės.
- Sutelktosios taršos poveikio reikšmingumas pastaraisiais metais gana stipriai sumažėjo. Tą įtakojo nuolat gerėjantis didžiųjų vandenvalos įrenginių darbo efektyvumas. Todėl šiuo metu sutelktosios taršos sukeliamos problemos nebėra tokios aktualios kaip anksčiau, bet vis dėlto Nemuno UBR tebėra 541,5 km upių, kurių būklei sutelktoji tarša net ir po pagrindinių priemonių įgyvendinimo dar gali turėti reikšmingą poveikį, t.y. upių būklė dėl sutelktosios taršos poveikio neatitiks geros ekologinės būklės reikalavimų. Tai sudaro vos 5 proc. visų upių kategorijos vandens telkiniams priskiriamų upių ilgio. Dėl sutelktosios taršos upės yra užteršiamos organinėmis medžiagomis, amonio azotu ir bendruoju fosforu. Šiuo metu daugiausiai rūpesčių kelia tarša amonio azotu, antrasis pagal svarbą – bendrasis fosforas. BDS 7 koncentracijos upėse pastaraisiais metais kelia nedaug problemų. Pagrindine problema išlieka į mažas upes, kurių taršos akumuliacijos potencialas nedidelis, išleidžiamos nuotekos.
