This document provides an overview of Revit 2013 and the building information modeling (BIM) process. It discusses how BIM creates virtual building models to facilitate coordinated, computable data. Revit is introduced as a BIM tool to achieve this. It also outlines the BIM components, including both 2D and 3D elements. Coordinated modeling in Revit using a single model with multiple views is described. The document concludes by reviewing basic Revit tools and functions such as the user interface, selecting elements, and starting a new project.

While Autodesk was pushing a transformative method developing AutoCAD, a enlightened upstart called Revit, entered the market. Parametric-driven plan programming was not new, but slightly Revit brought a database approach where 2D, 3D, or calendar gets all refresh as single database mechanisms. Likewise new was the idea of the family reader where clients could outline and tweak mechanisms for their own particular utilize. It didn't take ache for Autodesk to buy Revit and announce it their "lead" for the compositional market.

Extend the Value of Your BIM Data with FME: Part 1Safe Software
BIM contains useful data that can be shared, analyzed, and stored for project management and efficiency purposes.
However, the information stored often doesn’t get used to its full potential because of the complexity of BIM workflows and interoperability with other formats and applications.
That’s where FME comes in. FME extends the value of BIM data by enabling it to be used in more places, in more ways, by more people.
In this webinar, we’ll share real case studies of how BIM users around the world are maximizing its potential.
You'll see how FME users are accomplishing common BIM transformation tasks like:
- Extracting & converting BIM data to share, analyze and store across hundreds of formats
- Transforming, integrating, and validating BIM
- Automating BIM workflows
- Amplify your data by combining the power of BIM with the power of FME.

"Based on the successful construction of a sustainable water reuse (purple pipe) project, this class breaks down the steps for managing large diameter (20 inch +) waterlines on major (5+ miles) projects. We show the basics for modeling existing utilities, managing updates to utility models based on test pit data, and pulling from the AutoCAD® Civil 3D® road design toolset to develop waterline models. As we begin to dive into the pressure pipe tools of Civil 3D 2014, we discuss the transition to those new features. Next, we show you how to market the process of design on infrastructure projects, so as to show the 3D elements of what's still delivered as 2D paper plans. With expansive projects, the use of InfraWorks™ software has provided a great set of tools for quickly compiling data from multiple sources into a single location and present visualizations based on active design files to clients and the community." - AutoDesk 2013 Website (http://goo.gl/tBDDEu)
BIM Workflows: How to Build from CAD & GIS for InfrastructureSafe Software
BIM workflows give facilities managers, architects, and engineers key information for better-informed infrastructure planning and management. But how do you migrate to a BIM system when your current data is stored in CAD? Through a real-world international airport example, find out how CAD and engineering data can be centralized in a Document Management System (Autodesk Vault) and GIS database (SQL Server Spatial) using FME, and learn how to create BIM workflows from CAD data.
In this presentation I gave one overall overview about BIM workflow for Construction and D&B companies.
BIM is not a tool, BIM is not a software, BIM is a way of thinking about the project and put together processes to exchange information during the entire lifecycle.
This presentation is mainly focused on Autodesk platform but is applicable to many other solutions.
"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

2. Core Concepts
BIM Process of Create Virtual Models That represent
Building Facilities
Revit = BIM
BIM Process we follow to create Building Model Data that is
Coordinated - no need of manual updates
Computable - data that can be used internally and by outside
teams to do computations(energy analysis, structural
loads, lighting analysis, etc..)
Revit Tool that help us achieve BIM
3. BIM Components
3d is not only component of BIM, 2d also a component of BIM
3d good for
Clash detection, visualization, etc..
2d Good for
Cost estimate, specification writing, analysis all require data
“I” in BIM sometimes more important than “M”
I+M = Fully implemented BIM Solution
4. Coordinated Building Modeling
In traditional architecture,
design and documentation are
the result of many iteration until
finally the desire result is
reached, then it needs to be
drawn on to multiple drawings
like elevation, sections, etc..
making it hard to coordinate
The BIM workflow utilizes a
single model with multiple
views or windows and
modifications are directly in the
model, keeping all
modifications coordinated
