This document provides instructions for students to create scaled floor plans for an assigned library section. It outlines a 12-step process for drawing floor plans, which includes using graph paper where each square represents 1 foot, measuring room dimensions and fixture sizes, and drawing walls, windows, doors, and furniture to scale on the graph paper. Students will attach their completed scaled floor plans to design boards.

3. How to Draw a Floor Plan
Step 1: Use a graph
pad where each
square on the paper
equals one quarter
of an inch precisely
(four squares equal
one inch) or create
your own grid of
equal squares on a
blank sheet of paper.

each square
represents one
foot (12 inches).

the length of one
wall with the
tape measure.
