The photographer aimed to take casual photos of a music duo for a magazine. Their favorite photo showed both subjects smiling close together holding a guitar to appear like friends in a band. They edited photos by adjusting contrast, exposure, brightness and vibrancy to make colors bolder. One photo was edited by changing to portrait, cropping the backdrop, and making colors brighter and more contrasted. The final images were said to have vibrant colors while one was portrait format for the cover. Areas for improvement included planning a better setting and outfits.

2. Aim of Shoot
• The aim of my shoot was to take some
photos for my music magazine. I tried
to make them look casual and laid
back. I made them wear there normal
clothes that they usually wear to make
them seem more themselves.

3. Description of shoot
• This is my favorite image, because
they are both smiling. I made them
stand close together holding a guitar to
make them look like a close group, I
took it in the photographic studio with
just a basic white sheet in the
background, I use studio lighting.
• The way they look together went well
because they actually look like singing
duo who are good friends.

6. Editing effects
I edited this photo by messing around with the contrast and
exposure to make it seem more vibrant. I then put the
brightness up to intensify the colours and make them seem
more bold and demanding, so the picture catches your
attention more.

This is the picture I used on my front
cover I edited this by changing the
orientation to portrait and cutting out
some of the back drop I made the
colours brighter and changed the
vibrancy and contrast to make the
colours more bolder and clearer.

I edited this by putting up the brightness so that the
lighting seemed more brighter and the picture was
clearer.

9. Final Images
These are the final images I think the
strengths are the vibrant colours, I
made most of them landscape but I
made one of them portrait so that it
would fit better on my front cover. I
think the weakness is the enviroment
there in I think could of made an
effort to get a better back drop but
overall I think they turned out pretty
well.

11. Rejected Images
I rejected these images because there
not very well positioned or posed.
The lighting is quite dark, and they don’t
look very in character. Also there not fully
in the image in some of them.

12. Aims for next project
From this shoot I have learned to plan better, I will think of a
better setting/area and ask them to dress in better clothes
for example clothes that are the same style, and come up
with better poses and things for them to do in my pictures so
I have more stuff to play with when editing.
