magazine is 16 – 30 years old. It
gives you information and the latest
news on the music that’s in the
charts. Its covers whats in the pop
charts etc. It also gives you reviews
on the latest albums and gives you
information on the newest upcoming
artists. It is seen as one of the most
popular music magazines.

 The Billboard logo is covered.
Because people will already know
its Billboard because of the coloured
letters at the end of the word.
 The selling line is Bruno Mars, and
then it gives you some information
about him and what they will be
taking about in the magazine.

and showing of his gold jewelry. He
is wearing a red shirt this makes him
stand out more against the blue
background.

make you buy the magazine

The target audience for this
magazine is 18 – 40 years. It gives
you the latest music news on rock
and indie music. It gives you news on
the latest artists in the rock industry
and interviews varies singers and
bands. It is seen as one of the most
popular rock/indie magazines.

The logo is red and white the same
as the rest of the magazine front
cover.
The selling line is in short
sentences. This makes it seem
snappier and you read it quicker.

Sid Vicious is in black and
white in a ripped t-shirt and his
hair is messy. He’s holding up
his hands in the muscle pose.
This makes him look like a
messy ‘rock star’.

The main sale line is ‘25 years

remembered’. This will be the
main reason why people buy
this magazine.

13. Comparisons
There are obvious differences in these magazines. One of them is for
pop music (billboard) the other one is for rock/indie music. The colour
schemes are completely different, the pop magazine colour scheme is
quite bright and vibant, Bruno Mars is dressed quite smart. Where as
on the front of NME sid vicious isnt very well dressed and is going for
the messy rock stereotype look. The colour scheme is quite dark and
the black and white pictures takes up the whole of the front cover.
