- 1. Review of Die Hard 4.0 Introduction Laura Burgess
- 2. • In this first shot (medium), Panning of Landscape is used to set the scene. • The music is mysterious while the lighting is low/dark. • This makes the audience want to know what is going on and gives me an idea of what I can use
- 3. • The next shot is the title sequence which is running throughout the film opening sequence. • This shows a way in which I could present my title sequence in my opening sequence.
- 4. • This medium long shot shows the man is alone in the office who is looking around, implying he is up to no good, with the mysterious soundtrack still playing. This makes the audience want to find out what he is doing.
- 5. • The extreme close up on the computer screen shows the words ‘Delivered’ showing that something is being given that is to do with government. It implies that something is being built up to, as well as the way ‘codes’ keep being mentioned. This adds suspense for the audience.
- 6. • This close up of the women (who has appeared in several shots) also show how dialogue is used to identify characters. She says “We have all we need” showing that she is an antagonist character as she and some unknown others are behind the mysterious activity.
- 7. • The female antagonist in this close up now turns and says “We’re ready” before the title finish appearing and the scene cuts to the film beginning. This add suspense and makes the audience want to know what this plan is leading up to. I think it is important to use suspense in an opening sequence of this kind.
