2. SETTING
Establishing shots are a key to an opening sequence, this
is because it gives the viewer where the movie is set, this
is shown from the first shot where you can see the setting
is going to be outside, you also see an actress and a dog
so they are the main characters in the opening sequence.

3. CHARACTERS
It is important that in an opening sequence you have the
main characters that will feature throughout the movie, this
also gives the views an idea that they will be the most
important people throughout the film. In the opening
sequence we only have one actor, this is because we
wanted to make it focus only on the actress to cause more
effect and drama into the opening sequence also to show
the importance of the actress.

4. NARRATIVE
After watching the WOMEN IN BLACK, we decided to add
dramatic parts from specific scenes from the film, we did
this to put the views on the edge and cause more tension.

5. GENRE
We decided our genre was going to be horror/thriller, with
inspiration from The Women In Black. We represented
many aspects of this genre in our opening sequence. The
props and make we used also made it relevant to the
genre also created more of a story.

6. VISUAL STYLE
In order to create our own visual style in our opening
sequence, we decided to use white contact lenses. The
cool tones effect adds more of a story onto the opening
sequence, also it symbolises more evil due to it being
darker.

7. IDEOLOGY
Throughout our opening sequence, we made the viewers
sympathies onto the actress, this is because she was
going for a normal walk and then because the dog runs
away it leads her to the silhouette then becomes
possessed.
