Job Summary
The Inside Sales Representative is a key position within the sales department, handling inbound requests
for orders and quotations; ensuring that response times for such requests meet the guidelines established
by Chinook as part of its on-going commitment to superior customer service. This position works closely
with all members of the sales team, including remote staff, functioning as a support person; and regularly
interfaces with accounting, purchasing, and warehouse departments. This position requires significant
data entry skills and the ideal candidate will be able to transition seamlessly between computer data
entry and taking orders on the phone.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Fielding telephone calls and email requests for orders and quotes
• Coordinating with purchasing and warehouse departments on order status thereby ensuring the
delivery commitment to the customer is met
• Assisting with trade show and travel planning
• Assisting with updating sales and marketing materials, including print and electronic media
• Troubleshooting minor technical/order problems
• Maintaining department database records
• Serving as a liaison between travelling sales representatives and home office
• Other duties as assigned
