This document discusses how the film Requiem For A Dream inspired the remaking of a student film called Ecstasy. Requiem For A Dream successfully portrayed the negative effects of drug use in a way that was not cheap or obvious. The director of Requiem For A Dream used unique lighting, sound effects, and snapshot filming style to depict drug use differently than everyday life. Emulating this film's style helped the students show drug use in a more suspenseful way for their remake of Ecstasy, which also aims to portray the negative effects of drugs in a horror-like manner similar to Requiem For A Dream.
