This document discusses how the film Requiem for a Dream inspired revisions to the filmmaker's remake of Ecstasy. It notes that both films deal with the negative effects of drug use. Requiem for a Dream showed drug use and addiction in a way that was not cheap, unlike the first version of Ecstasy. Taking cues from Requiem for a Dream's style of depicting drug use through lighting, sound, and snapshot filming helped the filmmakers achieve their goal of separating drug scenes from everyday life in a more suspenseful way.
