What is represented?
• The main character in our teaser trailer is
represented as a female, teenage student
•From the beginning of the teaser a
voiceover is used which enlightens the
audience about her starting a new school
•It is clear that our film is from Casey's
perspective as she is narrating
•Characteristics of Casey's character which
can be interpreted by the audience is that
she is ambitious, honest and emotional
•A key part in the trailer where she is seen
being particularly emotional is when she
is seen crying on her bed n a mid-shot
with her head in her hands
How is this representative of social groups?
• The themes shown in our teaser which include bullying and fitting
in as a teenager are very stereotypical of the teen drama genre
•This means that our storyline is very relatable to young teens,
especially our target audience
•We display certain groups at school (the popular group) in more as a
negative light as these are the girls that pick on and bully Casey
•The bullying is shown in clips where Casey is seen to have food
thrown at her and a shot-reverse-shot of her walking down a
corridor and being tripped over
Who is responsible for the
representation?
•We wanted to represent bullying and trouble
fitting in at school as something very
relatable for teens and our target audience
•We attempted to do this by including
'common' bullying traits
•We also wanted to make it clear to our target
audience that this was a teen drama genre,
we did this by including specific colors and
using stereotypes for our characters typical
for teen dramas such as 'the nerd'
What does the audience make of it?
•An audience most likely to take a preferred reading of our
teaser trailer is someone who has experienced or seen firsthand
this type of bullying themselves
•It could also be someone invested into this genre who would
enjoy watching any teen drama

How is this representative of social groups? • The themes shown in our teaser which include bullying and fitting in as a teenager are very stereotypical of the teen drama genre •This means that our storyline is very relatable to young teens, especially our target audience •We display certain groups at school (the popular group) in more as a negative light as these are the girls that pick on and bully Casey •The bullying is shown in clips where Casey is seen to have food thrown at her and a shot-reverse-shot of her walking down a corridor and being tripped over

Who is responsible for the representation? •We wanted to represent bullying and trouble fitting in at school as something very relatable for teens and our target audience •We attempted to do this by including 'common' bullying traits •We also wanted to make it clear to our target audience that this was a teen drama genre, we did this by including specific colors and using stereotypes for our characters typical for teen dramas such as 'the nerd'
