Pencil Productions is planning a teen drama film based on audience research. The majority of respondents wanted a drama about a female main character set at a party with a murder mystery storyline involving hip hop/R&B music. The character should be rebellious and popular with mainly teen characters and no happy ending. Several ideas were proposed for the film synopsis including using a twist where the good guy is actually evil, cross-cutting editing techniques, dark special effects, impactful backing music during action scenes, and an overall mysterious twist. The final synopsis will incorporate cross-cutting, special effects/editing, impactful music/sound, and an unexpected twist.

5. Emily’s synopsis ideas..
I like the idea that there is a twist to a story,
such as having a good guy, who is actually the
most evil out of all of the characters. I like a
very mysterious story because it keeps the
audience engaged with the film, wanting to
know more about it. These leads on to my
idea of having a short introduction that
doesn’t tell the audience a lot about the film
because they will stay engaged throughout
the whole of the opening sequence.
