One Friday, September 29, 2017, I visited the City Theatre (inside Hockeytown Café) to watch Evil
Dead: The Musical written by George Reinblatt and presented by Olympia Entertainment and Sweat
Equity Studio. When I first arrived, I was greeted by the Usher who gave me a program. In the
Program, there is a bolded section with the name and title of those that made the production possible.
The director for this play was Jamie Warron, and the music director was Timothy Martuch. In the
second and third page of the program is a section called Who s Who , which serves the purpose giving
a brief description of the crew involved and their titles. In class we looked at some of the job duties for
those involved in a play, and this can relate to that description of each job and individual. Evil Dead is
about four college students who go on a trip for spring break to an abandoned cabin in the woods.
There they find a book that helps them release some sort of evil spirit. Each of them start to get
attacked by this evil spirit and killing one by one. In the performance that I witnessed, the story was
told in a comedic way compared to the Evil Dead film, which is more of a scarier and serious form of
the story. To me, the play seemed to have two themes, perseverance and good versus evil.

In Anne Carson s Nox, the preservation of memories and grieving process are shown by formatting
and themes of imagery, encapsulation, isolation, and completion. Upon first impression, Nox s pages
look photocopied, but real enough that the pages feel three dimensional, as though there s a residue
from the author lingering on the pages. Her brother s death prompts Carson to act as his historian and
detail his life through different media. Carson compiles images from different sources, including
herself, and then brings them together to form an epitaph in the form of a collage. Collaging becomes
a collection of preserved emotions from the author. Collaging helps express emotions of the self that
simple words cannot express. Nox s format being a collage pulls the audience into memories of
childhood. Young children making collages in art class and excitedly running home to show their

the meaning of life, and what are their general attitudes concerning religion.
The study was carried out on 2,000 unchurched Americans, and was sponsored by Billy Graham
Center for Evangelism at Wheaton College. Those people were considered unchurched who had not
attended any religious service in the last six months except weddings or funerals, and holidays.
