The September 11th Attack on the World Trade Center
In the early 1960 s, executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Austin J
Tobin, brought forward the proposal for a giant skyscraper complex in order to accommodate for
much needed office space in Lower Manhattan. The plan was met with considerable opposition at
first, but Tobin s proposal eventually succeeded, and Japanese American Minoru Yamasaki was
commissioned to design the building. Yamasaki projected a novel design for a development that
included two 110 storey twin towers . Upon completion in 1971, they were the tallest towers in the
world, a record the infrastructure held for two years. The magnificent World Trade Centre complex
which in 2001 included five other buildings in addition to the iconic Twin ... Show more content on

At 8.14am, as the aircraft was passing over central Massachusetts, the stewardesses began serving
beverages. Suddenly five men stood up and began making their way towards the cockpit. Two
stewardesses tried to intervene, but the men stabbed them with small pocket knives that they had
successfully smuggled past airport security. The following screams and sight of blood caused panic
among the passengers. A passenger tried to interpose one of the hijackers, but he was also stabbed.
The remaining passengers watched on helplessly as the hijackers entered the cockpit. The aircraft was
now in the hands of the al Qaeda hijackers, one of whom was himself a trained pilot. Mohammed Atta,
lead hijacker, turned the aircraft sharply to the south and set a new course for New York City. At
8.46am American Airlines Flight 11, appeared low in the sky above Manhattan. Flying at a speed of
around 750km/h, the aircraft slammed into the North Tower of the World Trade Centre between the
93rd and 99th floors. The impact triggered a huge explosion as an estimated 10,000 gallons of jet fuel,
needed for the intended journey to Los Angles ignited. All the passengers, including hijackers died
instantly; hundreds working in the tower were also killed upon the impact. Just 17 minutes later, while
New Yorkers were still trying to come to terms with the events that had just occurred; United

Apart from meeting the basic components of fitness including flexibility, muscle strength, and cardio
respiratory endurance, the complementary movement therapies such as yoga, tai chi, and chi gung
support health and wellness. Choose one of the complementary movement therapies and discuss how
it supports health and wellness. Cite sources from the readings or online library. Tai Chi is about
creating a balance between the mind, body, and nature, while encouraging a heightened state of health
and wellness (Herzog, 2011, p. 1). Tai chi involves the constant movement with the left and right

One way I can incorporate touch in my daily practice, which is something I always perform at the end

Woodridge. Have you ever been there? It s a south suburb of Chicago. Do you know what there is in

It has a long established and well developed culinary tradition. It is an important part of Chinese
culture, which has its origins among the diverse regions of China as well as from Chinese people
living in other parts of the world. It is fair to say that Chinese cuisine has influenced many other
cuisines in Asia itself. The preferences for seasoning and cooking techniques of Chinese provinces
depend on differences among historical background and ethnic groups. The geographic and
topographic features, which include mountains, rivers, forests, and deserts, also have a strong
influence on the local available ingredients. The color, smell, and taste are the three traditional aspects
used to describe Chinese food. In China, it is considered inappropriate to use knives or forks on a

predominance of chopsticks is the reason why most Chinese food is prepared in bite sized pieces or be
so tender that it could be easily picked apart. In China, a good meal was expected to balance the four

The Criminal Justice System In 12 Angry Men By Reginald Rose
During the time in class we have come up against many important topics and integral information that
is an essential part in the criminal justice system. Some examples of this would be crime and justice
including the laws, criminal behavior, victimization, and the criminal justice system in itself. These
issues are everyday situations but many people have been oblivious to what s going on. They have
also been oblivious to the effect that it would have on the community itself. On the information given
up to this point this process essay will articulate the unenlightenment and egomaniacal principles of
the twelve men in the short story and movie Twelve Angry Men written by Reginald Rose and
directed by Sidney Lumet. Both Lumet and Rose showed their point of views of the criminal justice
system in the play and the movie. Although the director s view on the justice system was more on the
rights that everyone had, it still revealed his thoughts on how the justice system is corrupt, ineffective
and unjust because all these aspects have shown the major differences in the morality of the twelve
individuals and the problem at hand in the movie and play 12 Angry Men .
The movie 12 Angry Men denotes how climacteric facts and evidence can change the aftermath in a
brobdingnagian way if not processed thoroughly. In the movie you have twelve jurors, all from
different backgrounds, with different personalities, and different times. All of them have an

Fall Prevention In The Elderly Essay
Quality Improvement for Fall Prevention in the Elderly
The occurrence of falls among the elderly is related to multiple factors, such as inherent and external
issues. Studies have proven that when appropriate intervention is put in place, falls are preventable. A
quality improvement according to Polit Beck (2012) is created to examine the willingness of
individuals to understand these studies and put them into practice or to appraise the results of
interventions already in place. This paper will examine a practice issue facilitated by the advanced
practice nurse (APN), explore the theoretical underpinning of change, describe an improvement tool
and model for improvement and allocated resources towards the prevention of fall among the elderly.
Selected Practice Issue
The occurrence of falls in older adults are common and can result in serious injuries, even death.
Owing to multifaceted changes in the aging, falls and related injuries are rampant in the healthcare
settings. Moreover, the decline in the involvement and inspirational level of older adults in fall
prevention measures continues to be a challenge. Hence, increasing the motivational level of this older
populace in fall preventive plans is of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The outcomes are revisit, reevaluation of current intervention methods and policies and in most cases,
changes to set protocols are implemented. To improve the quality of life and reduce frailty among this
older populace, the APN systematically reviews and assess each individual upon admission process
and identifies older adults at risk. These risk factors are disseminated to the healthcare team members
who ensure that interventions are in place and implemented as ordered. The eventual objective of
RCA, of course, is to avert imminent harm by eradicating the oblivious errors that continues to trigger

Interview with a Social Worker Essay

Work. For the past 24 years, he has served as a Social Worker in the United States Army. In his current
position he is responsible for the Department of Social Work Services. Previous positions have

Social Work Identity Working in a position and fulfilling your duties are not always the same concept.
During the interview Captain Geis emphasized several times that the most important part of this job
was the soldier who was supported (2012). In this effect he embodied the NASW values of service,
integrity, human relationships, and worth of the person. These assignments gave him the opportunity
to care and direct soldiers, fulfilling both roles as a Social Worker and Officer. As an Army Officer the
lines between Social Worker and Officer may have been blurred together but each were an important
part of whom he is. A Social Work Officer is not just a Social Worker or an Officer. It is the
embodiment of a leader and caregiver; an individual whose career is dedicated to the taking care of
soldiers, their families, and the Army itself. This concept may tear at the ideology of the NASW, as
several of the ethical guidelines may be skewed as the requirements of the Army culture differ from
the civilian counterpart (Tallant Ryberg, 1999). Principally, a Social Worker strives to take care of the
client at all times (National Association of Social Workers, 2008). A major influence and difference for
Army Social Workers is the need to take care of the organization primarily. A Social Work Officer will
do everything they

when the couple are two celebrities and they are speaking publicly for the first time. Miranda Lambert

country stars. Then on July 20, the couple broke their silence with a very quick Twitter conversation

moved on with their lives. Then they took to Twitter after a bit of time passed and they shared a
humorous moment that showed just how well a formerly split couple can act towards each other if
they make an honest attempt. What Blake and Miranda remind us is that they got married for a reason,
likely their chemistry and their shared interests, of which Ashley Monroe was one. Just because they
ended their marriage it doesn t mean those shared interests simply disappear. Even months after their

Analysis Of The BookPost Office, By Charles Bukowski
Rain, Sleet, Snow and Booze Post Office, By Charles Bukowski, is the self revelation of Henry
Chinaski, the main character of the book. The narration of working as a post carrier and clerk in Post
Office are fascinating but can sometimes be as unchanging and a bit unexciting as mail sorting.
Entering the world as a mail carrier through Bukowski s alter ego, Henry Chinaski and uncover the
eccentricity of his various routes, his fellow workers and the people he delivers to. Throughout the

It seems as though Chinaski has died and went to post office hell. The average day at the post office is
just full of mindless tasks while Chinaski battles with elements, the dogs and the people who seem
hell bent on making his life impossible. Bukowski begins to capture the sheer drudgery, the mind
numbingly, boring tasks, the petty office politics, and the endless rules that range from how often
Chinaski can use the toilet to where he can place his hat. On the other hand, scrap any ideas of
Chinaski being a victim. When he gets off work, he drinks all night long, and his normal state of
affairs is to begin the day with a hangover. It is hard to feel sorry for Chinaski in spite of the fact that
he hates his job, and this is because our anti hero is always funny and he is not out to please anyone. It
never occurs to Chinaski to worry about what people think of him. It is with woman that he is
arguably his most reprehensible. When the novel begins it says he is with Betty, his shack job, a
woman who is absence and goes to work, therefore frees Chinaski for his opportunistic sexual
encounters. Chinaski believes woman are objects no more, no less. They are mostly describe by their
body parts, and to Chinaski, the bigger the better. Eventually Betty, his shack job, says she has had

The Legacy Of The Lauren Rogers Museum
The Lauren Rogers Museum is located in Laurel, Mississippi and was built in 1923. One unique
characteristic about this museum is that has the Georgian Revival Style, which means if you were to
cut the museum down the middle in equal halves each side would be identical. While touring the
Lauren Rodgers Museum there were two separate collections that caught my eye. These collections
consisted of the American and European collection. The American collection focuses primarily on
portraiture. In the American Collection I chose a painting by Jean MacLane called The Chintz Chair.
MacLane was born on September 14, 1878 and died on January 23, 1964 in New Canaan,
Connecticut. One of MacLane s first studies was at an Art Institute in Chicago with John Vanderpoel.
MacLane and her husband, artist John C. Johansen (1876 1964) help found the National Foundation of
Portrait Painters in 1912 (Jean 2015). The year of 1912 was considered to be MacLane s biggest year
because she was recognized for many different awards. MacLane depicted the Allied Leaders from
W.W.I., provided the only female subject, Queen Elisabeth of Belgian, and also became an associate
member of the National Academy of Design. The main items that MacLane incorporates into her
portraits are women and their children. In 1931, she was elected to the American Academy of Arts and
Letter (Jean 2015). The picture that I chose from the American Collection by Jean McLane

Nature And Scope Of The Issue
Nature and Scope of the Issue An unfortunate reality in today s society is the gross overrepresentation
of persons with mental illness in the criminal justice system. According to Teplin (1984), persons with
mental illness have been found to be almost twice as likely as individuals without any known mental
illness to be arrested for their behavior in similar situations. Furthermore, several other studies have
even shown that roughly half of all persons with a mental illness have been arrested at least once in
their lifetime (Solomon Draine, 1995; Walsh Bricourt, 2003). Although these statistics seem to further
support the common belief among many citizens that mentally ill persons are dangerous criminals,
research indicates that the mentally ill are more often arrested for nonviolent minor charges (Cuellar,
Snowden, Ewing, 2007). Not surprisingly, a considerable portion of individuals within the criminal
justice population have a diagnosable mental illness. According to Ditton (1999), 7% of federal
inmates, 16% of state inmates, and 16% of jail inmates have a mental illness. These percentages may
be inflated because persons with mental illness tend to spend longer periods of time in custody than
those without a mental illness. Perhaps the greatest indication of the brokenness of the system is the
fact that there are more mentally ill persons in jails and prisons today than in public psychiatric
hospitals (Lamb Bachrach, 2001). In fact, according to the

The Benefits Of Negative Visualization By Oliver Burkeman
Throughout generations, people believed that having positive visualizations can make situations
better, however when you are in a situation that gives you a negative outcome you become devastated.
Oliver Burkeman in his essay, The Benefits of Negative Visualization discusses how negative
visualization is more likely to make people happier than positive visualization. Burkeman supported
that negative visualization makes an individual happier rather than positive visualization; he supported
this claim by describing how spending time and focusing on how well things would go reduces one s
motivation to achieve their goal. Tranquility gives individuals the opportunity to focus on negative
emotions, positive thinkers are less prepared and more acutely distressed, negative visualization
causes less stress, and being prepared for the worst case scenario helps establish what to expect. When
using negative visualization, it would be beneficial to use it to prepare oneself for the worst case
scenarios and to reduce both fear and anxiety. In regards to Burkeman s position, I can relate to the
information he is presenting and apply it to my personal life. Therefore, I can strongly agree with his
point of view that negative visualization is more likely to make an individual happier than positive
visualization.
(topic sentence) Before I tried out for Track and Field, I imagined myself getting a bad time running
my mile, imagining how half way into the mile I would be puffing for air, my sides beginning to burn,
and I would be struggling to breathe. This was something that was unnecessary for me to think about
considering I would do the mile twice a week for regular physical education. When it came to

then led me to visualize something even more severe than not being able to throw which was throwing
it backwards and making a total fool of myself. When it came to jumps, I replayed in my head over

Elton John Bennie And The Jets
Unlike most other songs of its era, Bennie and The Jets is a rare track that is driven by the
instrumental as opposed to the lyrics. When focusing on the instrumental more closely, it becomes
apparent that Elton John didn t just section his lyrics like traditional music, but instead sectioned the
orchestrative components into subcategories. Among all these groupings, the most significant grouping
is found in the opening measures. When analyzing the introduction to Bennie and The Jets , the first
few seconds of the instrumental unfolds into what is the most important melody throughout all of
Bennie and The Jets . The opening melody is not just a cog in an oiled machine, but it is the entire belt
that pulls every section in Bennie and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the lyrics to Bennie and The Jets provide the listener with a compelling and otherwise
catchy beat, Bennie and The Jets has an underlying deep meaning that boils down into one line. This
line is found at the end of the chorus when Elton John states, She s got electric boots, a mohair suit,
you know I read it in a magazine, Bennie and The Jets. To understand this line, it has to be interpreted
in reverse. The first part of this line when reading in reverse states, Bennie and The Jets. Here, Elton
John isn t just talking about a girl named Bennie, but more specifically, a performer named Bennie
who is apart of the band Bennie and The Jets. The next part of this line states, She s got electric boots,
a mohair suit, you know I read it in a magazine... Here, Elton is explaining how people adopt trends
from notable and influential people; like Bennie from the hypothetical band Bennie and The Jets.
Focusing in on the section of the lyrics that says, ... you know I read it in a magazine... describes how
current generations don t actually listen to music. Overall Elton John is saying that future generations

Analysis Of The Book Missoula By John Krakauer
[7] In his book, Missoula, John Krakauer analyses the issue of rape in the college town of Missoula.
Krakauer begins his work by quoting the article False Allegations of Sexual Assault:
Rape is unique. No other violent crime is so fraught with controversy, so enmeshed in dispute and in
the politics of gender and sexuality... And within the domain of rape, the most highly charged area of
debate concerns the issue of false allegations. For centuries, it has been asserted and assumed that
women cry rape, that a large proportion of rape allegations are maliciously concocted for purposes of
revenge or other motives.
Krakauer uses this quote because in every situation he writes about, there is a common element of
false allegations being made. In his writing he shares several occurrences with the reader, and while
each are similar, there are also notable differences between them. This is because, as stated in the
article quoted Rape is unique, not only is rape different from other crimes by nature, but each case is
surrounded by its own unique circumstances. In each situation that is discussed in the book, Krakauer
gives many details of rape, and he explains to readers what the characters went through.
The book centers around an incident involving Allison Huguet and Beau Donaldson. One night,
Allison was hanging out with a group of childhood friends when she was invited to a party at Beau
Donaldson s house. When the party was winding down, the friends decided to stay

It seemed likely that this growth would be replicated by the entire auto industry. However, this growth
did not increase the market position of the auto industry, as the semiconductor industry was growing
faster than the automotive industry market component. Based on these observations, it became clear
that something had to change. The 1980 semiconductor supply situation was intolerable. Of equal or
greater concern, projected growth in electronics requirements appeared to be unsupportable.
Forward Planning In 1980, the concept of forward planning, business planning, or strategic planning
was not commonly associated with the supply function. Supply management was most often thought
of as a reactive function organized to support manufacturing. Marketing, on the other hand, was more
often thought of as the proactive organization focused on the future of the firm. The failure of
management to recognize the strategic and futuristic implementation of supply management limited
innovative actions when dealing with a firm s supply world. The 1980 situation demanded new
thinking and a new approach to the acquisition of semiconductors. The supply managers involved had
little choice, given the circumstances. Supply had no experience with strategic planning. There were
no guidelines to follow. The responsible supply managers started with a clean piece of paper, a
mission, and a

Review Of Michael Ignatieff s A Sense Of Belonging
A Sense of Belonging Arises
Based on 2004 Question 3
Michael Ignatieff, a Practice of Human Rights Professor, observed a key characteristic in how humans
relate and bond with one another: intuition shared within groups that helps set rules and regulations,
ultimately setting them apart. His observation calls into question the connection between these
unspoken rules, and the sense of belonging felt by group members. With his observations in mind, it is
natural to assume that unspoken rules and belonging coincide because they define a group by giving
them an image and general understanding of each other.
Often it is found that having common interests affects the people within, as well as the image of, a
certain group. When people think back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consider sitting in your high school with multiple different groups of people around. You hear
numerous conversations coming from every direction and laughter filling the halls, but you are left
standing in the hallway alone, feeling outcast, because you have no connection with those people.
Having desolate feelings comes in response to this situation, and overall, it takes away from that sense
of belonging. The unspoken rules present in these groups are responsible for the loss of belonging.
People that do not fit the requirements within the rules often find themselves feeling as though they
are outcasts in society. Individually, they will perceive themselves to be outsiders without a belonging
in the social order because their traits do not match the desired ones in society. Additionally, the
people in each specific group will begin to exclude the said outcasts because they do not belong in the
clique. As a result, social events and conversations become more exclusive to those who fit the
unspoken rules. This unfortunately can lead to bullying, for the exclusive people will make the
outsiders feel unwelcomed and criticized. One who does not fit in with others will find themselves
feeling insecure about their life and role in the community. Therefore, the unspoken rules of society
affect each individual s sense of belonging in both a positive and negative

Pro forma earnings are earnings which often exclude non recurring items and are defined by each
individual firm rather than under the general accepted accounting principle (GAAP). Pro forma
earnings reporting is commonplace in the U.S. (Doyle et al. 2013; Bentley et al. 2016). Items such as
nonrecurring gains and losses, depreciation and amortization expenses, write downs, restructuring and
merger costs, stock compensation expenses, and interest expenses are often excluded in pro forma
earnings figures. Since many of these exclusions are likely to be transitory in nature, pro forma
earnings can be viewed as a better measure of permanent earnings and have received increasing focus
recently. Research studies found that pro forma earnings are more value relevant, informative, and
better associated with stock prices than GAAP earnings (Bradshaw and Sloan, 2002; Bhattacharya et
al.,2003; Brown and Sivakumar, 2003; Entwistle et al., 2010). However, exclusion of the non
recurring items is completely discretionary (Doyle et al., 2013) and managers may use the flexibility
to opportunistically influence the market s perception of the firm s recurring earnings (Dechow and
Schrand, 2004). Managers may have strong incentives to manipulate the reported pro forma earnings
to influence investors perceptions about the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ain T I A Woman Analysis
Both poems, Ain t I a Woman and at the cemetery, walnut grove plantation, south carolina, 1989, were
written by African American women that have left a large impression on how we read and interpret
African American literature today. Ain t I a Woman was spoken by Sojourner Truth, and was
advocating for women s rights. The poem, at the cemetery, walnut grove plantation, south carolina,
1989, was written by Lucille Clifton, and was intended to bring honor to the dead slaves. Both pieces
of work have their own unique style of writing and purpose. Both the poem, by Lucille Clifton, and
oration, by Sojourner Truth, are effective as a means of exposing social injustice and as a means of
diminishing social injustice. Both Ain t I a Woman, by Lucille ... Show more content on

In at the cemetery, walnut grove plantation, south carolina, 1989, by Lucille Clifton, the purpose is to
expose the injustice that has happened to the dead slaves. The slaves were buried without any
gravestone and the women were not even counted when the owner of the plantation wrote down his
inventory. This injustice is what pushed Lucille Clifton to write this poem. In the poem, Clifton
attempts to draw attention to the fact that the honor was taken from the slaves, after their deaths, and
Clifton tries to restore the honor that was stolen from the slaves. However, in Ain t I a Woman the
purpose was to expose the inequalities of an African American woman during Truth s life. In Truth s
speech she mentions how other women should be lifted over ditches, helped into carriages, and have
the best place but she gets none of this. Truth is comparing how other women are treated to how she is
treated. This best shows Truth s purpose of exposing the inequality between African American women
and other groups of people. In both, the poem by Lucille Clifton and the speech by Sojourner Truth
the purpose is to expose a certain

Baby Tiger Research Paper
Tigers are amazing animals, probably the biggest cat to roam the Jungle. They are great learners, adapt
to their surroundings, and accomplish anything of their main goal. They re a little weak for when they
are young, but when they are grown, they can rip you to smithereens. They can also be very sneaky, so
sneaky, you can t hear them even in a Library, they have thick paws which are very squishy to avoid
making screeching noises when they stalk prey.
When a baby Tiger is born, it is only 2 3 pounds, the size of a fist, and cant see. They don t open their
eyes until they are at least 2 weeks old. When they learn to walk, their mom starts feeding them meats
but still feeds them milk too. When they are young they barely even have stripes, but when they start
growing, they gain a stripe a day. At first, it s really hard to pierce the meat at a young age. it s just
training for the younglings, but when a fully grown Tiger has fully grown fangs, they can pierce
wood! When they are 6 weeks old, they can fully walk and can eat meat, but are still feed milk by
their Mother. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They first hide in tall grass and wait for a rabbit to hop along. When the rabbit gets close enough, they
pounce on it and bite its neck. That s a tactic most Tigers use to efficiently kill prey. The average Tiger
diet is Antelope, Deer, Rabbits, Snakes, Mongoose, and Ferrets. There were only a few reports of
Tigers attacking and practically eating Humans. Most of the attacks happened about 3 5 years ago
when people started to clear out Tigers. When a Tiger is 1.5 years old, it s been teached everything
from its Mother and is now in a postponed state. Then at 2 years old, they leave their Mother and go to
the wild to find their own

The Effects Of Television Violence On Our Society
Our world has a variety of problems today, with violence being at the top of the list, you go anywhere
and that is all you here about. Unfortunately it s in front page headlines of the newspaper and
broadcasted on the news as top stories. Violence is a very big topic, although it is categorized into
many small groups. There is juvenile violence, domestic violence, hate violence, terrorist violence,
and violence displaced through various forms of the media. This research will be on violence in the
media and does it affect our society. How we view television, has changed the world, no doubt in that.
Turn your television set on and pick a channel at random; the odds are that half of the programs you
come across will contain violent material. The statistics are overwhelming as I look on the internet,
read articles, and look at the research. One of the things that most interests me in the violence on
television, is the effects it has on children. Children learn by repetition while watching educational
shows, so is learning violence on television an exception? This research paper is directed to parents,
educational providers, psychologists in research, clinical practice, and individuals with public
advocacy roles and defined by education, age and gender. Both women and men will be a core
audience for this paper, as I have come across the fact that adolescent boys and adult men are more
drawn to violent television then women. It will draw both genders for different

Hubspot Case Study Essay
Problems
Founders Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah of upstart inbound marketing firm HubSpot have come
to a crossroads in their business model. The direction of the company must adapt in order to continue
on the stated path of growing as big as possible, as fast as possible. HubSpot is facing two problems
that it must address in order to accomplish its goals.
First, HubSpot has a corporate culture centered on an evangelical attitude towards inbound marketing.
HubSpot offers the services of inbound marketing, which uses strategies such as Search Engine
Optimization (SEO), the ability to write compelling content that attracts customers and the ability to
attract and engage a community of followers who interact with the content.

While not going so far as to begin cold calling for new clients, HubSpot could develop a targeted
outbound marketing campaign in environments such as industry trade shows that may open up the
company to potential customers who may have yet to hear of HubSpot, try their services or contact
them about service subscription. If done properly, HubSpot could use an outbound marketing strategy
for its inbound and outbound services while still staying true to its roots.
Alternatives for pricing
The pricing structure has the potential to evolve in a number of different ways. HubSpot could go
begin selling subscriptions for longer intervals beyond month to month to lock in customers for longer
periods of times. This could be particularly beneficial for keeping the Owner Ollies from canceling
services immediately after receiving the majority of the added value.
HubSpot could also begin charging B2B and B2C customers differently as well. B2B customers
derive greater value and could be charged an added premium or conversely B2C customers could be
given an added discount of services if combined with a longer subscription purchase.
Hubspot could also increase its initial fee of $500 for Owner Ollies who reap the majority of the
benefits upfront and who don t require as much customer service. A discount to this increase could be
coupled with participation with the CMS service, thus increasing the chance the customer stays with

Theater During The Elizabethan Era Essay
Owen Hatch

English 4A
13 October 2016
Theater in the Elizabethan Era When people think about theater in the Elizabethan Era, people usually
think of William Shakespeare first. The Elizabethan theater was so much more than just Shakespeare.
Theater In this time was not only plays, but included things such as bear baiting, cock fighting and
public executions ( Elizabethan Theatre ). The Elizabethan Era was during the reign of Queen
Elizabeth which lasted from 1558 until 1603 (Singman 6 7). The social, economic and political
climate of the era all help to make theater popular with all social classes. The Elizabethan Era was a
time of renaissance or rebirth of culture and arts in England. Along with this came the popularity of
the English Theater.
Elizabethan Era
The Elizabethan Era began in 1558 when the prior Queen, Queen Mary I died and Queen Elizabeth I
took the throne ( Elizabethan Age Begins ). Queen Elizabeth I was the half sister of Queen Mary and
both were the daughters of King Henry VIII ( Elizabethan Age Begins ). Queen Elizabeth I was a
protestant and after taking the throne established the Protestant Church of England as the official
church in England ( Elizabethan Age Begins ). Queen Elizabeth also encouraged exploration by
backing such explorers as Sir Francis Drake and Sir Walter Raleigh ( Elizabethan Age Begins ). Queen
Elizabeth was known as the Virgin Queen because she was worried that marrying would weaken her
power while on the throne.

Netflix Is An International Provider Of Television Series
INTRODUCTION
Netflix is an international provider of television series, cartoons, and movies. It was founded by Reed
Hastings and Marc Randolph on August 29, 1997. It has its headquarters in Los Gatos, California.
Seventy five million people are subscribed to Netflix, and forty four million of the subscribers are
from the United States of America (Lieberman). Netflix was recently launched in one hundred and
thirty countries such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia. Subscribers sign up to
enjoy the various television shows and movies for a monthly fee of eight dollars (Fakhruddin). The
cultural barrier, coupled with the competition in the Middle East, poses a significant challenge to
Netflix; however, through critically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nonetheless, there are chances that Netflix suffer losses in China.
Netflix might make an immense loss in China because the rival television service providers, such as
Xunlei, Tencent, and Youku Tudou, have tough local competition (Osawa).
4
Most Chinese nationals have access to the free to air channels. According to the expert researchers, it
could take three to five years to convince the subscribers to pay for the television service. Besides, the
Chinese government maintains enough funds to produce and develop the China film content, such as
documentaries, action movies, and dramas (Leung).
The Netflix s competitors also offer advertising services. For example, the Alibaba Company bought
Youku Tudou. Alibaba is the largest website for online buying and selling of goods and services.
However, Netflix offers television entertainment services only. Alibaba conducts several types of
researches concerning consumer preference, which gives it a competitive advantage over Netflix.
Therefore, it is difficult for Netflix to compete with companies holding crucial information about the
products preferred in the market (Jaafar). Furthermore, China s television service providers ensure that
the theatrical series and movies are made available three to four weeks after release. Such promptness
attracts more subscribers. On the contrary, Hollywood s theatrical releases are made available only
after a few months. As a result, Chinese prefer

Sex Role Theory Essay
1. Why do men commit more crimes then women and why is this? It is said that men commit more
crimes then women (Kreinert 2003). Many people ask why men commit more crimes it is simply
because men tend to be more violent than that of women (Kreinert 2003). When women do commit
crimes they like to commit social norms compared to men. Men are known to commit more crimes
because of their masculinity(Kreinert 2003).I think this is also because women tend to be more
truthful then that of men when it comes down to finding out the facts. What is sex role theory and
what does it argue? Sex role theory is a theory that focuses on boys and girls and how they are
socialized differently (Sulak 2014). I personally think that girls are more supervised then that of men.
Women are also less aggressive than men ( Sulak 2014).Men are more likely to take risks as well with

Some don t like being labeled well others accept the label that they are given (Ascani 2012).Law
enforcement is not the only ones who are involved in labeling juveniles. Labeling could be by the
people they know or even the people within the neighborhood in which they live (Ascani 2012). Why
do juveniles choose to commit crime and why? Juveniles commit crimes for a number of reasons. I
personally think that juveniles commit crimes because they live in poverty. They also commit these
series of crimes because they live in a bad neighborhood (Ziiadova 2004). Being in a gang is the main
reason why Juveniles choose to commit crimes. When juveniles are involved in gangs they feel like
they actually have a family who cares for them(Ziiadova 2004) These people that in gangs most of the

Current State of Business
The factors looked at such as the profit margin, ROE, and ROA do paint the picture that the current
state of the business is good. Revenues have increased on average 10% each year from 2002 to 2005.
However during this time cash balances have decreased. Accounts receivable and inventory have
increased in the same time span. Cash has decreased from $120.1 to $9.4, a decline of 92% over the
four year time span. In the same period Accounts Receivable went from $90.6 in 2002 to $146.4 in
2005, an increase of 62%. Likewise, inventory has increased from $468.3 to $656.9, an increase of
40%. We do know that there are factors behind this increases and decreases, but has the change ...

This can be done by generating more revenues or by reducing operating costs. Increasing revenues
seems complicated in an industry that decreased revenues in 2004 by 1.8% and considering that HH
has been aggressively growing for the last years (12.5% in 2004 and 15.5% in 2005). One strategy that
can be pursued at this point is increase prices to improve the margins and decrease the number of units
sold. Although this seems like a good idea the move implies initially an investment in additional
inventory which at this moment and with the given business conditions doesn t seem viable.
Reduction in operating costs looks somehow complicated as well because it is stated in the case that
the business is running efficiently.
Another alternative that the Brown s have to manage HH current situation is to reduce the receivables
days. This seems doable since HH is way above the industry average, 48 days compared to 21.8 for
the industry in 2004. They can also reduce the inventory days in an effort to recover some capital; this
also seems like something that HH should be able to do as they have higher inventory days than the
benchmark, 436.5 versus 386.3 in 2004. The return on assets has been growing on the past years and
is high compared to the benchmark, this is saying that HH is being more efficient every year in the use
of assets; this also says that they might require higher capital expenditures going forward.
The obvious alternative that the

Black Hole Of Technology Summary
The black hole of endless, unimportant streams of technology enabled information is devouring
everyone living in the 21st century. Words once said by Leena Khan highlighting the downfalls of
technology. Leena Khan in the writing, Black Hole of Technology argues much better points than
Stefan Etienne in the writing, Teens and Technology Share a Future. Consisting of strong points,
having highly effective structure and claims, and it has good structure are all reasons The Black Hole
of Technology is superior to Teens and Technology.
The passage, Black Hole of Technology has many points that stand out. The author had reasonable
opinions which were shown from a real experience the author explained. The text has strong reasons
like the fact that technology isolates us from the rest of the world, keeping us indoors. When Leena s
friends were all glued to their phones, she said, I, on the other hand, glanced out the window
separating us from the beautiful weather outside. This proves that technology is not always the best
form of entertainment. When we are on our device, it is kind of like we form a barrier to the real
world, we get lost in the technology world for a while. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It has a clear lack of scientific evidence, but that s no the purpose of this piece. The author intended to
write about how her quality of life is increased without technology, not to list off statistics. Some
people also criticize the piece for having not a wide enough target audience. This can be true for
writings, but in this circumstance, it is not. The author is arguing how teenagers are sucked into the
black hole, and how it affects each other. This whole passage is supposed to be for teenagers.
Therefore, the author does not have to narrow of a target

  • 2. The September 11th Attack on the World Trade Center In the early 1960 s, executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Austin J Tobin, brought forward the proposal for a giant skyscraper complex in order to accommodate for much needed office space in Lower Manhattan. The plan was met with considerable opposition at first, but Tobin s proposal eventually succeeded, and Japanese American Minoru Yamasaki was commissioned to design the building. Yamasaki projected a novel design for a development that included two 110 storey twin towers . Upon completion in 1971, they were the tallest towers in the world, a record the infrastructure held for two years. At 8.14am, as the aircraft was passing over central Massachusetts, the stewardesses began serving beverages. Suddenly five men stood up and began making their way towards the cockpit. Two stewardesses tried to intervene, but the men stabbed them with small pocket knives that they had successfully smuggled past airport security. The following screams and sight of blood caused panic among the passengers. A passenger tried to interpose one of the hijackers, but he was also stabbed. The remaining passengers watched on helplessly as the hijackers entered the cockpit. The aircraft was now in the hands of the al Qaeda hijackers, one of whom was himself a trained pilot. Mohammed Atta, lead hijacker, turned the aircraft sharply to the south and set a new course for New York City. At 8.46am American Airlines Flight 11, appeared low in the sky above Manhattan. Flying at a speed of around 750km/h, the aircraft slammed into the North Tower of the World Trade Centre between the 93rd and 99th floors. The impact triggered a huge explosion as an estimated 10,000 gallons of jet fuel, needed for the intended journey to Los Angles ignited. All the passengers, including hijackers died instantly; hundreds working in the tower were also killed upon the impact. Just 17 minutes later, while New Yorkers were still trying to come to terms with the events that had just occurred; United ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is where my friend s father, Marshall suggested we stretch our legs and head out to Westmont. Like Woodridge, Westmont is also a largely unremarkable town. However, this modest town boasts a very large secret. This secret sets the town apart from others. In fact, it helps generate all of the positive infamy it enjoys throughout the community. Westmont is home to the International Mall. Also known as the Oriental Marketplace or the Asian Marketplace to visitors and guests from both near and far. It is an important part of Chinese culture, which has its origins among the diverse regions of China as well as from Chinese people living in other parts of the world. It is fair to say that Chinese cuisine has influenced many other cuisines in Asia itself. The preferences for seasoning and cooking techniques of Chinese provinces depend on differences among historical background and ethnic groups. The geographic and topographic features, which include mountains, rivers, forests, and deserts, also have a strong influence on the local available ingredients. The color, smell, and taste are the three traditional aspects used to describe Chinese food. In China, it is considered inappropriate to use knives or forks on a dining table. Chopsticks are the main eating utensils used for cutting and picking up food the predominance of chopsticks is the reason why most Chinese food is prepared in bite sized pieces or be so tender that it could be easily picked apart. In China, a good meal was expected to balance the four natures (hot, warm, cool, cold) and the five tastes (pungent, sweet, sour, bitter, salty). Salt had been used as a preservative since day one, but in cooking was only added in the form of Soy Sauce and not at the table. • 6. The Criminal Justice System In 12 Angry Men By Reginald Rose During the time in class we have come up against many important topics and integral information that is an essential part in the criminal justice system. Some examples of this would be crime and justice including the laws, criminal behavior, victimization, and the criminal justice system in itself. These issues are everyday situations but many people have been oblivious to what s going on. They have also been oblivious to the effect that it would have on the community itself. On the information given up to this point this process essay will articulate the unenlightenment and egomaniacal principles of the twelve men in the short story and movie Twelve Angry Men written by Reginald Rose and directed by Sidney Lumet. Both Lumet and Rose showed their point of views of the criminal justice system in the play and the movie. Although the director s view on the justice system was more on the rights that everyone had, it still revealed his thoughts on how the justice system is corrupt, ineffective and unjust because all these aspects have shown the major differences in the morality of the twelve individuals and the problem at hand in the movie and play 12 Angry Men . The movie 12 Angry Men denotes how climacteric facts and evidence can change the aftermath in a brobdingnagian way if not processed thoroughly. Fall Prevention In The Elderly Essay Quality Improvement for Fall Prevention in the Elderly The occurrence of falls among the elderly is related to multiple factors, such as inherent and external issues. Studies have proven that when appropriate intervention is put in place, falls are preventable. A quality improvement according to Polit Beck (2012) is created to examine the willingness of individuals to understand these studies and put them into practice or to appraise the results of interventions already in place. This paper will examine a practice issue facilitated by the advanced practice nurse (APN), explore the theoretical underpinning of change, describe an improvement tool and model for improvement and allocated resources towards the prevention of fall among the elderly. Selected Practice Issue The occurrence of falls in older adults are common and can result in serious injuries, even death. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Social Work Identity Working in a position and fulfilling your duties are not always the same concept. During the interview Captain Geis emphasized several times that the most important part of this job was the soldier who was supported (2012). In this effect he embodied the NASW values of service, integrity, human relationships, and worth of the person. These assignments gave him the opportunity to care and direct soldiers, fulfilling both roles as a Social Worker and Officer. As an Army Officer the lines between Social Worker and Officer may have been blurred together but each were an important part of whom he is. A Social Work Officer is not just a Social Worker or an Officer. It is the embodiment of a leader and caregiver; an individual whose career is dedicated to the taking care of soldiers, their families, and the Army itself. This concept may tear at the ideology of the NASW, as several of the ethical guidelines may be skewed as the requirements of the Army culture differ from the civilian counterpart (Tallant Ryberg, 1999). Principally, a Social Worker strives to take care of the client at all times (National Association of Social Workers, 2008). A major influence and difference for Army Social Workers is the need to take care of the organization primarily. A Social Work Officer will do everything they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Then they took to Twitter after a bit of time passed and they shared a humorous moment that showed just how well a formerly split couple can act towards each other if they make an honest attempt. What Blake and Miranda remind us is that they got married for a reason, likely their chemistry and their shared interests, of which Ashley Monroe was one. Just because they ended their marriage it doesn t mean those shared interests simply disappear. Even months after their first public tweets Miranda Lambert was still talking with the utmost respect for her ex husband. Bukowski begins to capture the sheer drudgery, the mind numbingly, boring tasks, the petty office politics, and the endless rules that range from how often Chinaski can use the toilet to where he can place his hat. On the other hand, scrap any ideas of Chinaski being a victim. When he gets off work, he drinks all night long, and his normal state of affairs is to begin the day with a hangover. It is hard to feel sorry for Chinaski in spite of the fact that he hates his job, and this is because our anti hero is always funny and he is not out to please anyone. It never occurs to Chinaski to worry about what people think of him. It is with woman that he is arguably his most reprehensible. • 13. The Legacy Of The Lauren Rogers Museum The Lauren Rogers Museum is located in Laurel, Mississippi and was built in 1923. One unique characteristic about this museum is that has the Georgian Revival Style, which means if you were to cut the museum down the middle in equal halves each side would be identical. While touring the Lauren Rodgers Museum there were two separate collections that caught my eye. These collections consisted of the American and European collection. The American collection focuses primarily on portraiture. In the American Collection I chose a painting by Jean MacLane called The Chintz Chair. MacLane was born on September 14, 1878 and died on January 23, 1964 in New Canaan, Connecticut. One of MacLane s first studies was at an Art Institute in Chicago with John Vanderpoel. MacLane and her husband, artist John C. Johansen (1876 1964) help found the National Foundation of Portrait Painters in 1912 (Jean 2015). The year of 1912 was considered to be MacLane s biggest year because she was recognized for many different awards. MacLane depicted the Allied Leaders from W.W.I., provided the only female subject, Queen Elisabeth of Belgian, and also became an associate member of the National Academy of Design. The main items that MacLane incorporates into her portraits are women and their children. In 1931, she was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letter (Jean 2015). • 14. Nature And Scope Of The Issue Nature and Scope of the Issue An unfortunate reality in today s society is the gross overrepresentation of persons with mental illness in the criminal justice system. According to Teplin (1984), persons with mental illness have been found to be almost twice as likely as individuals without any known mental illness to be arrested for their behavior in similar situations. Furthermore, several other studies have even shown that roughly half of all persons with a mental illness have been arrested at least once in their lifetime (Solomon Draine, 1995; Walsh Bricourt, 2003). Although these statistics seem to further support the common belief among many citizens that mentally ill persons are dangerous criminals, research indicates that the mentally ill are more often arrested for nonviolent minor charges (Cuellar, Snowden, Ewing, 2007). Not surprisingly, a considerable portion of individuals within the criminal justice population have a diagnosable mental illness. According to Ditton (1999), 7% of federal inmates, 16% of state inmates, and 16% of jail inmates have a mental illness. These percentages may be inflated because persons with mental illness tend to spend longer periods of time in custody than those without a mental illness. Perhaps the greatest indication of the brokenness of the system is the fact that there are more mentally ill persons in jails and prisons today than in public psychiatric hospitals (Lamb Bachrach, 2001). In fact, according to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. The Benefits Of Negative Visualization By Oliver Burkeman Throughout generations, people believed that having positive visualizations can make situations better, however when you are in a situation that gives you a negative outcome you become devastated. Oliver Burkeman in his essay, The Benefits of Negative Visualization discusses how negative visualization is more likely to make people happier than positive visualization. Burkeman supported that negative visualization makes an individual happier rather than positive visualization; he supported this claim by describing how spending time and focusing on how well things would go reduces one s motivation to achieve their goal. Tranquility gives individuals the opportunity to focus on negative emotions, positive thinkers are less prepared and more acutely distressed, negative visualization causes less stress, and being prepared for the worst case scenario helps establish what to expect. When using negative visualization, it would be beneficial to use it to prepare oneself for the worst case scenarios and to reduce both fear and anxiety. In regards to Burkeman s position, I can relate to the information he is presenting and apply it to my personal life. Therefore, I can strongly agree with his point of view that negative visualization is more likely to make an individual happier than positive visualization. (topic sentence) Before I tried out for Track and Field, I imagined myself getting a bad time running my mile, imagining how half way into the mile I would be puffing for air, my sides beginning to burn, and I would be struggling to breathe. This was something that was unnecessary for me to think about considering I would do the mile twice a week for regular physical education. When it came to throwing both the shot put and the discus I imagined myself struggling to pick up the eight pound shot put and having it roll out of my hand because my fingers were not able to stand the weight of it. How I d go pick up the discus and I d be unable to hold on to it right, even if it was similar to a Frisbee. This then led me to visualize something even more severe than not being able to throw which was throwing it backwards and making a total fool of myself. • 17. Analysis Of The Book Missoula By John Krakauer [7] In his book, Missoula, John Krakauer analyses the issue of rape in the college town of Missoula. Krakauer begins his work by quoting the article False Allegations of Sexual Assault: Rape is unique. No other violent crime is so fraught with controversy, so enmeshed in dispute and in the politics of gender and sexuality... And within the domain of rape, the most highly charged area of debate concerns the issue of false allegations. For centuries, it has been asserted and assumed that women cry rape, that a large proportion of rape allegations are maliciously concocted for purposes of revenge or other motives. Krakauer uses this quote because in every situation he writes about, there is a common element of false allegations being made. In his writing he shares several occurrences with the reader, and while each are similar, there are also notable differences between them. This is because, as stated in the article quoted Rape is unique, not only is rape different from other crimes by nature, but each case is surrounded by its own unique circumstances. In each situation that is discussed in the book, Krakauer gives many details of rape, and he explains to readers what the characters went through. The book centers around an incident involving Allison Huguet and Beau Donaldson. One night, Allison was hanging out with a group of childhood friends when she was invited to a party at Beau Donaldson s house. When the party was winding down, the friends decided to stay ... Of equal or greater concern, projected growth in electronics requirements appeared to be unsupportable. Forward Planning In 1980, the concept of forward planning, business planning, or strategic planning was not commonly associated with the supply function. Supply management was most often thought of as a reactive function organized to support manufacturing. Marketing, on the other hand, was more often thought of as the proactive organization focused on the future of the firm. The failure of management to recognize the strategic and futuristic implementation of supply management limited innovative actions when dealing with a firm s supply world. The 1980 situation demanded new thinking and a new approach to the acquisition of semiconductors. The supply managers involved had little choice, given the circumstances. Review Of Michael Ignatieff s A Sense Of Belonging A Sense of Belonging Arises Based on 2004 Question 3 Michael Ignatieff, a Practice of Human Rights Professor, observed a key characteristic in how humans relate and bond with one another: intuition shared within groups that helps set rules and regulations, ultimately setting them apart. His observation calls into question the connection between these unspoken rules, and the sense of belonging felt by group members. With his observations in mind, it is natural to assume that unspoken rules and belonging coincide because they define a group by giving them an image and general understanding of each other. Often it is found that having common interests affects the people within, as well as the image of, a certain group. When people think back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Consider sitting in your high school with multiple different groups of people around. You hear numerous conversations coming from every direction and laughter filling the halls, but you are left standing in the hallway alone, feeling outcast, because you have no connection with those people. Having desolate feelings comes in response to this situation, and overall, it takes away from that sense of belonging. The unspoken rules present in these groups are responsible for the loss of belonging. People that do not fit the requirements within the rules often find themselves feeling as though they are outcasts in society. Individually, they will perceive themselves to be outsiders without a belonging in the social order because their traits do not match the desired ones in society. Additionally, the people in each specific group will begin to exclude the said outcasts because they do not belong in the clique. As a result, social events and conversations become more exclusive to those who fit the unspoken rules. This unfortunately can lead to bullying, for the exclusive people will make the outsiders feel unwelcomed and criticized. • 20. Pro Forma Earnings Report 1. INTRODUCTION Pro forma earnings are earnings which often exclude non recurring items and are defined by each individual firm rather than under the general accepted accounting principle (GAAP). Pro forma earnings reporting is commonplace in the U.S. (Doyle et al. 2013; Bentley et al. 2016). Items such as nonrecurring gains and losses, depreciation and amortization expenses, write downs, restructuring and merger costs, stock compensation expenses, and interest expenses are often excluded in pro forma earnings figures. Since many of these exclusions are likely to be transitory in nature, pro forma earnings can be viewed as a better measure of permanent earnings and have received increasing focus recently. Research studies found that pro forma earnings are more value relevant, informative, and better associated with stock prices than GAAP earnings (Bradshaw and Sloan, 2002; Bhattacharya et al.,2003; Brown and Sivakumar, 2003; Entwistle et al., 2010). However, exclusion of the non recurring items is completely discretionary (Doyle et al., 2013) and managers may use the flexibility to opportunistically influence the market s perception of the firm s recurring earnings (Dechow and Schrand, 2004). This injustice is what pushed Lucille Clifton to write this poem. In the poem, Clifton attempts to draw attention to the fact that the honor was taken from the slaves, after their deaths, and Clifton tries to restore the honor that was stolen from the slaves. However, in Ain t I a Woman the purpose was to expose the inequalities of an African American woman during Truth s life. In Truth s speech she mentions how other women should be lifted over ditches, helped into carriages, and have the best place but she gets none of this. One strategy that can be pursued at this point is increase prices to improve the margins and decrease the number of units sold.
