This document analyzes recruitment and selection at IBM. It finds that while many freshers are available, their qualifications do not always match needs. Candidates also have issues with salary levels and locations. The profile offered does not always match what candidates are interested in. Shift work is a major barrier to candidates joining the BPO sector. Suggestions include providing more information portals, hiring more from preferred locations, and informing candidates about timing schedules upfront. Limitations of the study include busy schedules, time constraints, lack of BPO sector awareness, and a small number of respondents. In conclusion, the BPO industry is growing and offers opportunities for candidates without other options to gain experience.
