Location recce

1. SCENE LOCATION PICTURE REASON
1:
SKATING
CASTLE MAN
TRAIL WAY
ROAD
I chose to film at this location because
it is a rural, safe and good
environment which the scene will take
place in. It is an unknown road which
will allow me to safely film without
much interruption or danger from
cars. Additionally it is in a beautiful
setting, allowing me to capture the
establishing shots needed to create
the atmosphere and introduce
audiences to the rural setting of the
film which would follow. Furthermore
the smooth tarmac allows the
skateboards to work well with the
underfoot surface.
2:
SHOPPING
RINGWOOD
FURLONG
I chose this to add urban
environments into my titles and
further set the scene. This setting,
with shops both sides, perfectly fits
the way the script has been written
and will allow me to create the shots
needed to make the scene. However
there are some challenges that may
occur when filming in a public area.
There may be obstructions or people
in the shot which are unwanted, also
there will be background noise created
by the public.

CYCLING
CASTLE MAN
TRAIL WAY
I chose to film along the Castle man
trail way, this is because of the rural
environment which surrounds the
public footpath but also for the
accessibility of the location. Challenges
may occur as the location is a popular
place for cyclists and dog walkers to go
which would cause problems if they
interfere. However this cannot be
predicted or resolved and will have to
be worked out on the set.

TALKING
CASTLE MAN
TRAIL WAY
I chose to film in the forest
surrounding the castle man trail way
as this is relevant to the scene which
previously happened. Furthermore it is
relevant to the script. The use of the
forest additionally allows audiences to
understand that the story is set in a
rural area. The use of the tree can be a
resting point for the protagonists in
the story. Problems that I may face in
this location would be the unstable
tree roots falling in a hurting actors,
therefore they will not be say on tree
roots but next to them instead.
5: FILM MY BEDROOM By filming in my bedroom it allows me
to have a relevant and modern image
of what a realistic teenage bedroom
looks like. This allows audiences to
connect better with the film. Another
aspect which is to an advantage would
be the accessibility of the location.
Some problems that may occur when
filming in this location would have to
be the formality of the scene as there
may be too much of a relaxed
environment in such a comfortable
location.
