different cultures there are certain symbols, events and characters which can be found in literature
and Star Wars IV: A New Hope follows this trend step by step. During the film Star Wars IV: A New

The hero's journey is an ongoing concept used in many tales which involves a hero who goes on an
adventure, wins a victory, and then comes home changed or transformed. In the society that we live
in, the hero becomes a hero by attaining in what they believe in for the good of others. Among the
numerous tales which the hero's journey is utilized there are some that stand out more compared to

The novel I chose to read for my summer book critique was called The Whiskey Rebels by an
American author, David Liss. The Whiskey Rebels is an American fiction novel inspired by events
in the early history of the United States. The setting of where the book took place was after the
Revolutionary War and in the late 1700s. The book's main characters are its two narrators, Joan
Maycott and Ethan Saunders who live two separate lives but cross paths in time over the scandal of
William Duer. Ethan Saunders was a spy during the Revolution for Colonel George Washington but
after being charged with accusations of treason he is living in Philadelphia in disgrace. Joan Maycott
and her husband Andrew Maycott who was a Revolutionary war veteran were moved to the west
where they were promised land for Mr. Maycotts' war debt. Soon after receiving land from their
landlord they realize that their land is worthless and they won't profit off of it. Later they make an
accomplishment off of their whiskey distilling. After Tindall realizes they are the ones making the
new whiskey he takes all of their land including killing Andrew. After the killing of her husband

finally realizes that he is going to be convicted, not because he killed an Arab but because he did not
mourn his mother's death.

Star Wars: A New Hope and 12 Angry Men are two movies that have underlying similarities and
visible differences. While not entirely obvious, there are similarities between the movies based on
character development and plot lines. Due to the nature of the two movies, it is extremely obvious as
to the differences between the two. The similarities include the character development of Juror 7
(Jack Warden) in 12 Angry Men and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) in Star Wars: A New Hope and a

Northern Rebels Vs Southern Rebels
"A rebel is a person who refuses allegiance to, resists, or rises in arms against the government or
ruler of his or her country." (1) In the movie the True Memoirs of a National Assassin, There is a
group of rebels who want to kill the president because they want to be in control. In the Selection
series there is two groups of rebels. One known as the Northern rebels, and one group known as the
Southern rebels. Both groups attack the palace because they don't agree with some of the laws of

father once did. They go to Mos Eisley to find a pilot to take them to Alderaan, where the rebel base

In early December 2014, a gang by the name of "Rebel But Gangster Black Rebels" aka RBG Black
Rebels organized a cyber attack on the Twitter account owned by the St. Louis County Police
Association (SLCPA). The FBI investigated the attack and determined that Justin Payne was the sole
operator of the Twitter account owned by the RBG Black Rebels' group.
The messages sent out on Twitter by Payne on December 2, 2014, contained a link for a Distributed
Denial of Service (DDoS) attack on the SLCPA website. The distributed (DDoS) was an attempt to

2014 and began an investigation. The FBI agents was provided with web logs detailing the IP
addresses used in the attack by the SLCPA.
In late January 2015, Payne's Twitter account revealed messages associated with killing law
enforcement officers. Through an FBI investigation revealed that Justin Payne was employed at the
V.A. facility located at One Archives Way, St. Louis, Missouri. After the arrest of Payne for the
DDoS attack, a search warrant was obtained by the FBI to search Payne's vehicle. FBI agents
located a glass container containing a flammable liquid mix of gasoline, water and ethanol, which

However, even if we don't look into the future, Star Wars can tell us volumes about how technology
can affect our society, especially as it pertains to war.
Through the ages there have been constant struggles to resolve disputes. However, as we can see
through our history, sometimes peaceful resolutions are not possible because of misunderstandings,
corruption, power, or greed. In these cases, one alternative to settling the dispute is war. Technology
plays an extremely important role in war, and this is clearly demonstrated in Star Wars. Star Wars

We are delighted to have the opportunity to examine Star Wars because we feel intimately connected
to the film and all that it represents. We grew up with R2D2, C3PO, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia,
Han Solo, and Chewbacca. We dressed up like them for Halloween, we played Star Wars games for
countless hours, we imagined ourselves using their futuristic technology, and now we want to study
how this artifact has affected our society and how it might affect our future.
