My Sci Fi Of The Earth Of A Space
Hao Lin Yang

My sci fi paper will be something along the lines of A day in the life of a space garbageman set a few
decades in the future when an orbital spaceship has been developed that can track down and remove
space debris from orbit. The article will explain in detail the technologies that will make such a
spaceship possible such as electric or tether propulsion, life support, and garbage collecting means. It
will also explain the various hazards of prolonged stays in orbit such as space weather and effect of
microgravity on a human.
Space Debris
Space debris is any particle, whether natural or man made, floating around in space[1]. This paper will
focus on man made space debris in orbit around earth. First, will define ... Show more content on

Orbital debris come from a variety of human activity in orbital space. One major source of orbital
debris comes from launched rockets and man made satellites[1]. When a rocket is launched, the upper
stage booster that gives a spacecraft its final boost into orbit is often left in orbit[2]. These boosters
may stay in orbit for decades and if there is still fuel remaining inside them they may explode and
create a cloud of debris[2]. One example was when a Chinese Long March 4 exploded on March 11,
2000 [3]. The payloads of the rocket often contribute greatly to the amount of orbital debris as well. In
2009, two satellites smashed into each other and created a cloud of debris with over a 1,000 pieces
longer than 10 centimeters [4]. While collisions between debris do not add to the total mass of debris
in orbit, they do add to the number of smaller pieces and increase the chances of further collisions in
the future[4]. There were even cases where debris was created from intentional destruction of satellites
in order to test anti satellite weapons[5]. The amount of debris is increasing with human activity in
space.
The growing number of orbital debris inconveniences and even endangers future space missions. Low
mass particles often impact the solar panels of spacecraft in orbit[6]. This creates a

Remember The Titans Synthesis
Remember the Titans is a football movie that was filmed in the year 2000. Although this movies main
plot is surrounded by football it has a much deeper meaning than just a game. Remember the Titans is
based on the true story of coach Herman Boone played by Denzel Washington and what he did for the
young men of T.C. Williams High School in the year 1971. Given the huge task of integrating the
football team of a small school in Virginia, Coach Boone and assistant coach Bill Yoast played by Will
Patton begin by introducing their two captains, Gerry Bertier and Julius Campbell. News of the new
head coach and integration of the school had sent the town into a complete uproar. Having black
students walk the halls with white students hadn t been an option until now and to add to the tension
of integration in the school current head coach Bill Yoast was forced to step down to assistant after
having a hall of fame worthy career for the T.C. Williams Titans. Coach Herman Boone was replacing
him in hopes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of rolling over and allowing them to dictate the game they continue to fight through adversity
and are aided by coach Yoasts stern message he gives to the officials showing his players that he will
fight for them when they are treated unfairly. This message that he sends gets the officials on the right
path and begin to call the game fairly and the titans win and proceed to the championship game. Co
captain Gerry Burtier gets caught up in the celebration and is involved in a severe car accident that
leaves him paralyzed from the waist down just a week before the state championship game. The titans
come together as a team battle through adversity one last time for their captain and come out
victorious and are crowned state

Black Hawk Down
Man Down Repelling down from a hovering Black Hawk helicopter, running through the streets in a
foreign city, bullets hissing past your ears, bombs are exploding all around you, debris flying in all
directions, and you have a job to do. In Black Hawk Down, director Ridley Scott mixes a wide variety
of camera movement, camera angles, film speed, tone, and music to throw the audience into the thick
of the fighting in Mogadishu, Somalia. Scott places the viewer into the boots of Delta Force members,
ARMY Rangers, and many other military positions allowing you to experience the nightmare these
soldiers are going through. William Arnold stated Black Hawk Down is a terrific ‘trip movie that –
like Private Ryan – plops us right in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This new sense of hope is also reflected by the now yellowish tone. A new frame from inside the
helicopter reveals a bumpy ride as the camera bumps and vibrates with the helicopter. The first time
the audience members are placed in the boots of a soldier is when a high camera angle is used to look
down on the Red Cross Food Distribution Center through the eyes of S.SGT. Matt Eversmann (Josh
Hartnett). The camera perspective then switches to the ground as a vehicle carrying armed men is
tracked by the camera and follows the people rushing to get food by using a crane shot. The camera
switches to a low angle camera shot to show how desperate the starving people are for food that they
begin to fight each other for it, causing the camera to sway back and forth. The music changes from an
upbeat style to a more guitar fueled rock and roll style symbolizing the anger felt by the audience and
soldiers. On another helicopter flight, American oldies can be heard, which conveys that this ride is
not a serious flight like to one before. The soldiers are more relaxed and peer out the helicopter door to
enjoy the Somalian landscape. The yellowish tone switches to a greenish tone as the frame changes to
show Pfc. Todd Blackburn (Orlando Bloom) reporting for duty, suggesting that this is a more serious
part. The camera angle shows the soldier behind the desk, checking Blackburn in, is always looking
up to Blackburn. Even though Blackburn is younger, he has a more heroic

A Brief Note On Tobacco Control Measures Were Challenged...
II. Tobacco control measures were challenged in the WTO 1. Measures relating to provisions of the
GATT 1994
WTO members might impose tariff and non tariff measures on tobacco products when these products
are imported to their territories. However, by the three critical principles, which are mentioned in the
previous part, the GATT 1994 prevents WTO members from measures establishing discrimination and
trade restriction. Therefore, in boundary measures imposed on tobacco products might be challenged
under these principles.
In Dominican Republic Measures Affecting the Importation and Internal Seal of Cigarettes in 2004,
Honduras submitted its request to establish proceedings in the framework of the WTO to claim that
measures, which the Dominican Republic imposed on imported cigarettes, did not comply with some
provisions of the GATT 1994.
1.1. Transition surcharge and foreign exchange fee
The Dominican Republic imposed a transition surcharge on all imported products, including
cigarettes. The amount of the surcharge is 2 percent of the cost, insurance and freight value of the
imported good . Importers had to pay extra 10 percent of value of the products imported to the
Dominican Republic at the selling rate for foreign exchange in the this country. Honduras claimed that
these surcharge and fee did not comply with Article II:1(b) of the GATT 1994.
The Panel noted that the surcharge and fee:
(i) were additional charges of imported taxes. Thus, they were in boundary

Omni Hotel Narcissism
Narcissism can be a major issue in the business world getting in the way of someone doing a good job.
Those that tend to be arrogant, require excessive admiration, have a magnificent sense of self
importance, and a sense of entitlement (Robbins and Judge, 2009). The executive chef of The Pointe
Restaurant in the Omni Hotel Charlottesville had a great sense of self worth. The presentation states
that the perfection error is perceiving we are better than we really are (Lesson 2, 2016). The Chef was
arrogant when it came to thinking everyone had to listen to him and only his ideas mattered. The
narcissist attitude of thinking everyone existed for the Chefs benefit began to get in the way of others
participating and doing their job correctly. The chef was not a great leader and his attitude would get
in the way causing employee morale to decrease.

Employees began to lose interest in their job causing there to be higher turnover and dissatisfied
customers. Employee engagement is important because these employees care about the work they do
and have a passion for the company according to Robbins and Judge, in 2009 (p.81). Those not
satisfied with their job may tend to check out causing the company to suffer do to un happy
employees. The presentation states that Attitude Event Theory determines our job performance
(Lesson 2, 2016). This is true in that the chef was narcissistic and this caused the attitudes of
employees to change affecting job performance. When others look down upon the work you do and
show no appreciation the employee engagement decreases. Narcissism gets in the way of allowing
those in management roles to encourage employees to do a better job. Rather than praise an employee

Churchill and Roosevelt s Speeches Attempted to Bring Hope...
In Winston Churchill s speech blood, toil, tears, and sweat , and in Franklin D. Roosevelt s The Great
Arsenal of Democracy , there are many different rhetorical devices and they use them to build an
effective argument. Both speeches were written and spoken at different times and different events
were going on when the speeches were made, but both speeches are similar in the way that they are
constructed and by the devices used in both. In their speeches both Churchill and Roosevelt tried to
bring hope to the people during the hard times that the country was going through. Winston Churchill
delivered his speech on May 13, 1940, three days after he became prime minister. In Churchill s
speech he wanted to connect with the audience on an emotional level, so he uses many different
examples of the rhetorical device pathos. For example, Churchill s famous quote I have nothing to
offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat . By saying this, he wants the people to know that, he will give all
that he has and he will give as much effort as he can and that s all that he can offer them. Another
example of pathos in the speech is when Churchill said, We have before us many, many long months
of struggle and of suffering . By saying this, Churchill uses terms such as us , struggle , and suffering
to get to the people and to show that the war cabinet crisis wouldn t be an easy thing to get though out
of the rhetorical devices ethos, pathos, and logos, Churchill uses pathos more

Critical Analysis of a Sequence from FANTASIA Essay
Critical Analysis of a Sequence from FANTASIA
All of the animation that was used in Fantasia was hand drawn. The scene that we are analysing is the
first one right at the very beginning. This was when the elephants and hippos are floating on bubbles
and then one of the hippos lands on the floor on a bed, then the crocodiles come along.
The way that each and every one of the slides was so smooth was because they used a technique
which was very similar to ghosting that we now use on the computers except they traced each slide
onto a piece of tracing paper as well as normal paper, they would then place each one on top of the
other so that they would be able to see where all of the animations ... Show more content on

This would suggest to the viewer that the crocodiles are bad and evil. The hippos are more of a soft
brown colour which suggests that they are good and calm. Also the fact that the hippo was wearing a
pink tutu which suggests that she is sweet and innocent.
The shape of the crocodiles is much more tense and square than the hippo. When all of the crocodiles
surround the hippo they stand in a square, with their shoulders up. The crocodiles are much more
sharp and quick. They are also of a flat shape and everything is in 2D. The hippos are more of a round
and smooth shapes, also the bubbles that they float on are round with soft edges. A circle shape is used
for hippos to show that they are good and gentler.
There are many example of when shadows are used in this animation. The first time we really notice a
shadow is when the crocodiles are creeping along the wall. The shadows of the crocodiles are much
bigger than the crocodiles them selves. This would make them seem more frightening and evil. Also it
would make them seem more intimidating as they were up high looking down with a huge shadow
casting behind them. The spotlight that is on the hippo is circular to show the gentleness and the
goodness, but then this disappears when the crocodiles form a square around her. But when

Using Software And Its Integration With Regular Cost...
Reports produced by an ABC system contain information, such as product margins, that vary from the
information reported for a traditional cost method. It s also possible that some activity based costs may
be irrelevant in certain decision making scenarios; for example, ABC does not conform to accounting
standards and should not be used for external reporting. Since traditional cost figures tend to be the
norm, interpreting ABC data along with regular accounting information can be confusing and lead to
bad decision making. The use of software can streamline the process of maintaining an ABC system
and simplify its integration with regular cost accounting information. (Eileen, nd.)
Even for smaller businesses, the implementation of an activity based costing system can be a
substantial undertaking. The added precision of the activity based system can only be achieved if the
small business owner is willing to put in the time to analyse the manufacturing process with enough
detail to determine how overhead costs are incurred. Due to the difficulty of implementation, many
small business owners don t believe the benefit of an activity based system outweighs the costs. (John,
nd.)
Other than ABC, balanced scorecard is also design for the change of the management accounting.
According to Olve and Sjèostrand (2002) a balanced scorecard is a format for describing activities of
an organisation through a number of measures for four perspectives: financial, customer, internal

Iodp Site 913 Glaciations
The Onset of the Northern Hemisphere Glaciation
By Christina Ohrazda

Introduction
The Northern Hemisphere Glaciation (NHG) is believed to have initiated into large scale, permanent
ice sheets ~2.5 Ma, which is almost 31.5 Ma after the initiation of the Antarctica ice sheets. There are
many possible causes for the onset of this climate event, some of which we will be reviewing in this
essay. In this essay we will look at the cores from IODP and ODP sites 302, Arctic Ocean; 913,
Greenland basin; and 907, north of Iceland, in order to identify the characteristics and possible causes
of the northern hemisphere glaciations. First we will look at the evidence for the onset of this event
and the proxies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, proxies show that the initiation of IRD ~46.25 Ma at site 306, correspond to a 1000 ppm
decrease in CO2 gases in the atmosphere (See Figure 5. Note. From Cenozoic ice rafting history of the
central Arctic Ocean: Terrigenous sands on the Lomonosov Ridge (St. John 2007)). This correlation
between IRD and pCO2 is critical since it leads us to the hypothesis that a decline of pCO2 could have
driven the climate in the polar regions over a temperature threshold, which enabled the onset of
continental glaciers and ice sheets on the surface of the Arctic Sea (St. John 2008). This is only one of
many possible reasons of the NHG onset, where other potential causes suggested for the initiation of
the NHG are: events of mountain building; plateau uplift in southern Asia and the American West;
Volcanic triggering, resulting in aerosols in the atmosphere; and the closure of Panama Seaway, which
would have changed the whole ocean circulation and distribution of cold vs. warm ocean water (St.

The Story Of Lidtke Mill
The Story of Lidtke Mill
Once there was a little girl named Marie. She was running from the man when she spotted the old
building they called Lidtke Mill. She ran into the building to get away from the man that was chasing
her. When she ran inside, it was pitch black. She tried to find her way through the building, tripping
over the rubble caused by people and storms over the years. While Marie was tripping over the rubble,
she heard a horrible screeching noise. She was already scared enough before that noise came. Marie
covered her ears while that noise went on and on. She decided to go towards the noise. She found

stuffed bear. She didn t notice it before, when she had light and then lost it. It s not that easy to miss
something as big as the bear.
She looked around and saw the door. She ran out of the door and ran into more rubble that wasn t
there before. Marie kept on tripping and stumbling over every piece of rubble. She stubbed her toe on
a step. She knew that there were steps in Lidtke Mill, but she just didn t know where and now she
found them. Little Marie ran up them as fast as she could, skipping steps along the way. It was a little
bit lighter up in the attic because of the small square window. She liked it up there much better even
though it wasn t any safer. First off, the thing that is chasing her could still be up there and second, the
building is falling apart piece by piece. As she started to walk, the wood creaked and splinters of wood
started to fall from the ceiling. She walked a little faster, but calmer this time. She heard noises from
the other side of the room. She hid in and out of the junk that was piled up in the attic of the old Lidtke

Gold In Beowulf
The Role of Treasure in Beowulf
Brave and ruthless Beowulf, the protagonist of this Anglo Saxon poem, proves himself a hero time
and time again by eliminating any threat of danger to his people. Because of his success in defeating
Grendel, he is rewarded with treasures by Hrothgar, and eventually takes the throne and rules for fifty
years. The concept of treasure is used many times Beowulf, the reader is exposed to the use of it for
diverse reasons. On one hand, treasure and gold is used as a reward, a symbol of status and honor.
Contrarily, the treasure can also be hoarded, cursed, deemed as evil , and ultimately becomes the
underlying reason behind Beowulf s death. As the poem progresses, the view one might have
regarding treasure is subject ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fame that comes with the receiving of gold is a feeling which drives Beowulf back for more. This
type of phenomena happens in modern society as well. We are accustomed to seeing celebrities not
being able to handle the consequences of fame. In some cases they are so inclined to gaining more and
more fame that sometimes they can lose sight of things which may go wrong. The misapplication of
treasure is portrayed through the death of Beowulf. Despite Hrothgar s speech to Beowulf, in which he
addresses the dangers of success and fame, Beowulf is driven by his will to defeat Grendel s mother
and acquire the treasure which she has been guarding. O flower of warriors, beware of that trap.
Choose, dear Beowulf, the better part, eternal rewards. Do not give way to pride. For a brief while
your strength is in bloom but it fades quickly; and soon there will follow illness or the sword to lay
you low, or a sudden fire or surge of water or jabbing blade or javelin from the air or repellent age.

The Pros And Cons Of Inequality
Equality and justice are core values in modern democracies. Yet, we curiously accept massive levels
of inequality. In fact, there are numerous reasons why countries accept or even promote economic
inequality. In this paper, I will argue that everyone has a right to benefit from their own labour. And, it
follows from this right that governments should act against inequality only to raise the neediest above
a level of subsistence.
In Canada, the richest 20% own over 70% of total wealth while the bottom 20% own less than 1%.
This has important implications according to many experts, including epidemiologist Richard
Wilkinson. His research reveals a strong connection between inequality and social problems such as
mental illness, drug addiction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This argument has two sides to it. Firstly, that inequality causes major social problems. But correlation
does not always imply causation. The best performing countries on Wilkinson s index of health and
social problems, while relatively equal, all are measured as the happiest countries in the world with
strong community spirit. Inequality and social problems are likely to be symptoms rather than causes
of countries lacking this cooperative attitude. The second side to the argument is that inequality is
itself unjust. However, few philosophers would claim justice or fairness relates only to equality. There
must also be an element of need or merit. Some people are simply more deserving. Ability or
willingness to work hard contributes to this merit. Additionally, not everyone requires the same
resources to achieve the same standard of living. For instance, housing and transportation is likely
costlier for someone living in Toronto compared to suburban Ontario. In this sense, justice may not
only tolerate, but require

Comparing Symbols and Symbolism in Blue Hotel, Black Cat,...
Color Symbolism in Blue Hotel, Black Cat, Night, Alfred Prufrock, Red Wheelbarrow
Symbolism of colors is evident in much of literature. The Blue Hotel by Stephen Crane, The Black
Cat of Edgar Allan Poe, Night by William Blake, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T. S. Eliot,
and The Red Wheelbarrow by William Carlos Williams encompass examples of color symbolism from
both the prose and the poetry of literature. When drawing from various modes of psychology,
interpretations of various colors, with emphasis to dream psychology, an analysis of the colors
themselves and then their applications to literature can be readily addressed.

To the Christian, it denotes Christ s passion. (Fontana 66) Investigating more specifically dream

Blue is the color of intellect, peace and contemplation. It represents water and serenity, and

Thelma and Louise dramatises the ongoing battle of the sexes, or rather, women s struggle against

The feminist film Thelma and Louise was produced in 1991. This production was directed by Ridley

people would be stereotypical and think that only men can do the detective work. Another example of

Never Let Me Go Annotation
Biologically, a human is a homo sapien. However, when we begin to analyze the acts that constitute
human behavior, the criteria of being human becomes difficult to characterize. The definition of
humanness becomes not what holds us together, but what makes us different. Kazuo Ishiguro s novel,
Never Let Me Go, narrates the life of Kathy H, a clone that is raised in isolation with her fellow clones
at Hailsham, an academy that prepares its students to complete their lives as organ donors. Because
Kathy lives an expedited life filled with the human emotions of love, pain, and jealousy, the audience
is convinced of the humanness shared by each student until Ishiguro critically reveals the process of

those whom the researcher can obtain consent and identifiable private information (10). Ishiguro

subjects. In addition, the OHRP mandates that every scientific experiment provides the opportunity to
consider whether or not to participate and that minimize the possibility of coercion or undue influence
(19). Though Kathy and her fellow clones believe an illusion of consent with the gossip of delaying

result, the enforcement of donations becomes unethical because the clones are stripped of any
opportunity to consent with minimal influences or withdraw from the process. Paralleling the
malpractice of donations, the Tuskegee experiment provides a historical and racial perspective. The
Ad Hoc Advisory Panel judged the study to be unethical for the lack of informed consent amongst the
African American participants. The Panel argues, people who may be selected for human
experimentation, and who, because of their station in life, may not have an equal chance to withhold
consent (11). As a result, the scope of humanness is expanded to include those targeted in the

Social psychologist Kurt Lewin, devised a theory to explain the internal conflicts that humans
experience every day. Conflict is an unavoidable part of our daily lives. As adults we ve hopefully
learned to deal with conflict better than we did as children. Students have very little understanding of
how to deal with conflict whether it s between themselves and others or just within themselves.
Helping them realize that their conflicts are shared by everyone else can lessen the stress caused by
these conflicts.
There are 3 major types of conflicts that all of us confront. These are internal conflicts. They are
known as:
Approach Avoidance Conflict
Avoidance Avoidance Conflict
Approach Approach Conflict
(A fourth type of conflict is called Double Approach Avoidance. This occurs when there are two
choices both of which have attractive and unattractive aspects.)
What makes these conflicts a problem, in addition to not being able to have everything you want, is
that they can be very stressful, especially for children. It s

Independent Marketers The Independent marketers, comprises largely indigenous petroleum
marketing companies. The FGN introduced the Independent Marketing Scheme in 1978 because of
petroleum products shortage of the 1970s and the lack of sufficient investment by major marketing
companies in the rural areas. This led to the establishment of the Independent Marketers Association
of Nigeria (IPMAN) in 1982. Membership is open to every independent marketer duly licensed and
authorised to operate by the NNPC or other appropriate organisation in charge of this function. The
trade group of these companies is referred to as the independent Marketers Association of Nigeria

Gas.

Imagery In Nate Powell s March
Everywhere you look you see many different beautiful scenes of nature and socitety. In the book
March, the illustrator, Nate Powell, along with the authors, John Lewis and Andrew Aydin, use these
scenes to illustrate the civil rights movement. The novel shows the growth of the main character, John
Lewis, and how he started as a young child who grew up into a very influential man in the civil rights
movement. March describes many influential moments in the civil rights movement, such as the lunch
counter sit ins and the Freedom Ride. The novel uses different types of imagery to enhance the story
and add. Powel uses white and black to evoke a sense of sadness. The illustrator also uses different
techniques to show the importance of different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One way used many times throughout the book is using black to reinforce a grim tone onto the reader.
An example of this is in Book One on page 93. The image shown is of lunch counter protesters during
a sit in with a counter closed sign. The photo uses mostly black to develop a dark and unsettling tone.
On the page before it is shown how the servers did not want to serve SNCC members. The negativity
and hatefulness of the servers is reinforced with the dark tones used to create the image on page 93.
Another instance the illustrator uses black is in Book Two on pages 102 through 108. The Freedom
Riders were arrested and they were transferred to the Mississippi State Penitentiary, also known as
Parchman Farm. This point in the Freedom Riders journey was one of the low points for the Riders.
They were dehumanized and treated terribly in the jail, this shown in the way the panels are
illustrated. As soon as the Riders entered the jail cells, the white borders started to transition into black
borders. This transitions the tone the reader feels while reading. The dark colors cause the reader to
subconsciously feel unsettled and unhappy, which is what the Freedom Riders felt during their time at

Ccc s Work Processes
Work processes are several individual processes that make up the complete organizational process. It
is important to understand how the actions of one, effect many. In this part of the system and structure
analysis, Carey Counseling Center does an effective job with its work processes. CCC was established
in the late 70s, giving CCC plenty of time to hone their craft in the community mental health industry.
One of the previous opportunity assessment tools would help CCC s work processes be carried out
much smoother. If CCC was able to communicate the new program offerings with other staff and
make them aware of the immense amount of new services provided for clients, then the work
processes CCC is attempting to achieve would be realized

External Forces In My Hero Academia, By Izuku Midoriya
There are moments in one s life that can be attributed to external factors or internal factors, or a
mixture of both. However, people have a tendency to reason either external forces or internal forces
more than the other for outcomes. Julian Rotter called this dimension locus of control, the extent to
which people will perceive outcomes as internally controllable or externally controlled (Myers, 2013,
p. 57). If a person attributes outcomes to mostly his or her own control, he or she is said to have an
internal locus of control; if a person attributes outcomes to mostly external forces, the person is said to
have an external locus of control. In the anime, My Hero Academia, the main character, Izuku
Midoriya, displays primarily the external locus of control. The main idea behind the anime is that

His internal locus of control is what moves him to become the greatest hero in the first place despite
the biggest barrier of not having a quirk. The odds are definitely against him, for most individuals in

all of these people already have practice and control over their quirk and are ready to put it to use in
U.A. High School; U.A. High School is the school that numerous successful heroes have graduated
from and primarily a hero school. When Izuku shares that he wishes to take the exam to enter this

but he still has the mindset to follow his dream no matter what. Although the external factor of All
Might is an extreme contribution to Izuku s success, it is undoubtedly Izuku s own willpower and
internal and physical strength that leads him on the path of becoming a true

Examples Of Narcissism In The Alchemist
When Coelho included a different version of the story, Narcissus, in the prologue, he hinted that one
of the themes in the Alchemist would be man s relationship with nature. This was his way of
introducing the concept that all things are the manifestation of one thing only. And that when we
recognize that and begin to work with nature, that we will achieve great things. The lake, which
Coelho wrote about, in the Narcissus story supports this by saying, I weep for Narcissus, but I never
noticed that Narcissus was beautiful. I weep because, each time he knelt beside my banks, I could see,
in the depths of his eyes, my own beauty reflected. After reading the book I came to believe that there
is an element of narcissism in following one s own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Englishman and Santiago are both looking for something, the alchemist and treasure. But the
difference is that the boy is searching by observing his surrounding and the Englishman is searching
by reading the books. Though they might not agree with each other s ways they still respect each other
and are good friends. As Santiago tells himself, Everyone has his or her own way of learning things.
The Alchemist chose to befriend Santiago instead of the Englishman because Santiago examined the
desert and the people of the caravan. The Englishman was immersed in his books, not bothering to
contemplate the desert until Santiago advised him to. The alchemist even says, He has other things to
do first. But he s on the right track. He has begun to try to understand the desert. As for the two hawks
and the falcon they represent the understanding of nature and what it tells us through symbols. They
also reveal the knowledge of how the world and all of its inhabitants communicate and ultimately
work together to find their personal legend. As far as the fact that they are dead, it is my belief that the
alchemist sent his falcon to kill them because Santiago read their

Catholicism In America
The United States of America is known for having a history consisting of intolerance towards ideals
and opinions. However, America is showing a turn towards liberalism. America has shown a turn in
religion, immigration, and race. America has become more liberal through religion as well. Although
many believe that people came to America in seeking refuge from religious discrimination, there was
actually quite the opposite. In 1732, the founders of the Georgia colony drew up a charter that
specifically banned Catholicism. Many efforts in the past have been made to restrict Catholicism, yet
today Catholicism is the largest religion in the United States, taking up 22% of the U.S. population.
Catholics are not the only ones who faced obstacles

Persuasive Speech On Chasing A Dog
When a dog goes chasing after a rabbit, it should stop to smell the white picket fence that it passes, to
mark its territory on the fire hydrant, and make friends with the other dog that always sits on the
corner. Life is like chasing a rabbit through the neighborhood, and I believe one should take advantage
of every opportunity given to stop and enjoy life.
As a freshman art student, I never thought my weird art teacher would make an impact in my life. He
walks into the classroom every day a few seconds late and announces GREETINGS ALL! and then
usually followed by a weird comment about our drawings or just his thought of the day. He is full of
personality and opinions, although he never forces us to believe them, he always speaks his thoughts

Although there is still time, the dog runs forward now looking at his surroundings, the world is his, he
can smell all the fences, bark at all the dogs, make friends with all the future runners up ahead, and
enjoy its life for everything it is given.
My art teacher pauses, Stop worrying about getting things done and just enjoy what you have in front
of you compared to where you where when you started, not when you finish cause you re not there
yet. I look back down at my drawing and think about how I started with a white piece of paper and
now I have every inch of the paper covered with pencil marks and eraser scraps, it is a starting point
not the finish. I remember how others have dropped this class, but I decided to stick with it and push
myself.
A few weeks later I had fixed my drawing and I have to admit it was looking pretty great. As my art
teachers comes into the room with his usual GREETINGS ALL! he continues Now I don t want to say

Roth IRA Research Paper
The, best known as IRAs for its acronym in English (Individual Retirement Accounts), individual
retirement accounts are a good option to consider when planning for retirement, since these are
savings accounts with attractive tax advantages. These accounts are recommended if your employer
does not offer any retirement plan like a 401 (k), or if you want to have an additional plan to save
more for your retirement.
IRAs can be opened at any bank or brokerage firm, either in person or online. The opening process is
very simple and only requires to have on hand your social security number and beneficiaries, as well
as your basic personal information.
There are several types of IRAs, but the most used are the traditional IRA and the Roth IRA. ... Show

You can also start making withdrawals after age 59½, they will be subject to the ordinary tax rate. If
you make withdrawals ahead of time, they will be subject to 10% penalty, plus applicable taxes apply.
Tax laws require the traditional IRA make a required minimum distribution to the beneficiary from
70½ years old.
Roth IRA
Unlike the traditional IRA, the contributions you make in the Roth IRA are not tax deductible, but
upon reaching retirement all your withdrawals will be tax free. In addition, for this type of account no
age restrictions.
Another difference is that with the Roth IRA, your eligibility depends on your level of adjusted gross
income. So for 2011, you may be eligible for a Roth IRA:
If you declare your taxes individually, and your adjusted gross income does not exceed $ 122,000; or
If you do your tax returns together, and your adjusted gross income does not exceed $ 179,000.
The maximum contribution limit for 2011 is $ 5,000, you can do it to date within tax return, ie until 15
April 2012. However, if you are over 50 years before the end of 2011, you can make a compensatory
contribution of $ 1,000

History Of Orvillecopter s Animal Cruelty
Flying in the air beside you is a cat, What? A cat, How? Well this is called orvillecopter. This was
made when an artist had a cat named Orville, sadly he died by getting smacked by a car. The artist had
an idea of making a copper out of him. Now from that day forward he has made all different types of
coppers using animals. For me there is one question, is making animals into copters really just animal
cruelty.
Orvillecopter was not always a copter he was an ordinary cat doing ordinary ordianary things like
running away from dogs, trying to get fish from the fish bowl, catching rats or a mouse, you get the
idea. Orville loved to do what cats do. Orville would have liked a peaceful death but he has to lay in a
freezer for a long time and

our country s greatest natural treasures, including the Everglades and Biscayne National Parks and the
Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary 10, Foreign Affairs I have the utmost respect for the men and

Americans are privileged to enjoy. Our Congressional District is honored to be home to both the U.S.
Coast Guard Sector Key West and Naval Air Station Key West, along with hundreds of service
members who reside in South Florida 11, Health Care I believe that all Americans strive for and
deserve a healthcare system that is both affordable and efficient. The dramatically increasing cost of
healthcare, troubling classification standards for employer provided plans, and importance of medical
research are a few of my top priorities. Ultimately, affordable healthcare must be accessible to every
hard working American family. I will continue to work to ensure that our nation s healthcare system is

It will also explain the various hazards of prolonged stays in orbit such as space weather and effect of microgravity on a human. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Orbital debris come from a variety of human activity in orbital space. One major source of orbital debris comes from launched rockets and man made satellites[1]. When a rocket is launched, the upper stage booster that gives a spacecraft its final boost into orbit is often left in orbit[2]. These boosters may stay in orbit for decades and if there is still fuel remaining inside them they may explode and create a cloud of debris[2]. One example was when a Chinese Long March 4 exploded on March 11, 2000 [3]. The payloads of the rocket often contribute greatly to the amount of orbital debris as well. In 2009, two satellites smashed into each other and created a cloud of debris with over a 1,000 pieces longer than 10 centimeters [4]. While collisions between debris do not add to the total mass of debris in orbit, they do add to the number of smaller pieces and increase the chances of further collisions in the future[4]. There were even cases where debris was created from intentional destruction of satellites in order to test anti satellite weapons[5]. The amount of debris is increasing with human activity in space. The growing number of orbital debris inconveniences and even endangers future space missions. Low mass particles often impact the solar panels of spacecraft in orbit[6]. This creates a ... • 3. Remember The Titans Synthesis Remember the Titans is a football movie that was filmed in the year 2000. Although this movies main plot is surrounded by football it has a much deeper meaning than just a game. Remember the Titans is based on the true story of coach Herman Boone played by Denzel Washington and what he did for the young men of T.C. Williams High School in the year 1971. Given the huge task of integrating the football team of a small school in Virginia, Coach Boone and assistant coach Bill Yoast played by Will Patton begin by introducing their two captains, Gerry Bertier and Julius Campbell. The first time the audience members are placed in the boots of a soldier is when a high camera angle is used to look down on the Red Cross Food Distribution Center through the eyes of S.SGT. Matt Eversmann (Josh Hartnett). The camera perspective then switches to the ground as a vehicle carrying armed men is tracked by the camera and follows the people rushing to get food by using a crane shot. The camera switches to a low angle camera shot to show how desperate the starving people are for food that they begin to fight each other for it, causing the camera to sway back and forth. The music changes from an upbeat style to a more guitar fueled rock and roll style symbolizing the anger felt by the audience and soldiers. On another helicopter flight, American oldies can be heard, which conveys that this ride is not a serious flight like to one before. The soldiers are more relaxed and peer out the helicopter door to enjoy the Somalian landscape. The yellowish tone switches to a greenish tone as the frame changes to show Pfc. • 5. A Brief Note On Tobacco Control Measures Were Challenged... II. Tobacco control measures were challenged in the WTO 1. Measures relating to provisions of the GATT 1994 WTO members might impose tariff and non tariff measures on tobacco products when these products are imported to their territories. However, by the three critical principles, which are mentioned in the previous part, the GATT 1994 prevents WTO members from measures establishing discrimination and trade restriction. Therefore, in boundary measures imposed on tobacco products might be challenged under these principles. In Dominican Republic Measures Affecting the Importation and Internal Seal of Cigarettes in 2004, Honduras submitted its request to establish proceedings in the framework of the WTO to claim that measures, which the Dominican Republic imposed on imported cigarettes, did not comply with some provisions of the GATT 1994. 1.1. Both speeches were written and spoken at different times and different events were going on when the speeches were made, but both speeches are similar in the way that they are constructed and by the devices used in both. In their speeches both Churchill and Roosevelt tried to bring hope to the people during the hard times that the country was going through. Winston Churchill delivered his speech on May 13, 1940, three days after he became prime minister. In Churchill s speech he wanted to connect with the audience on an emotional level, so he uses many different examples of the rhetorical device pathos. For example, Churchill s famous quote I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat . By saying this, he wants the people to know that, he will give all that he has and he will give as much effort as he can and that s all that he can offer them. The scene that we are analysing is the first one right at the very beginning. This was when the elephants and hippos are floating on bubbles and then one of the hippos lands on the floor on a bed, then the crocodiles come along. The way that each and every one of the slides was so smooth was because they used a technique which was very similar to ghosting that we now use on the computers except they traced each slide onto a piece of tracing paper as well as normal paper, they would then place each one on top of the other so that they would be able to see where all of the animations ... When all of the crocodiles surround the hippo they stand in a square, with their shoulders up. The crocodiles are much more sharp and quick. They are also of a flat shape and everything is in 2D. The hippos are more of a round and smooth shapes, also the bubbles that they float on are round with soft edges. A circle shape is used for hippos to show that they are good and gentler. There are many example of when shadows are used in this animation. The first time we really notice a shadow is when the crocodiles are creeping along the wall. The shadows of the crocodiles are much bigger than the crocodiles them selves. This would make them seem more frightening and evil. • 11. Using Software And Its Integration With Regular Cost... Reports produced by an ABC system contain information, such as product margins, that vary from the information reported for a traditional cost method. It s also possible that some activity based costs may be irrelevant in certain decision making scenarios; for example, ABC does not conform to accounting standards and should not be used for external reporting. Since traditional cost figures tend to be the norm, interpreting ABC data along with regular accounting information can be confusing and lead to bad decision making. The use of software can streamline the process of maintaining an ABC system and simplify its integration with regular cost accounting information. (Eileen, nd.) Even for smaller businesses, the implementation of an activity based costing system can be a substantial undertaking. The added precision of the activity based system can only be achieved if the small business owner is willing to put in the time to analyse the manufacturing process with enough detail to determine how overhead costs are incurred. Due to the difficulty of implementation, many small business owners don t believe the benefit of an activity based system outweighs the costs. (John, nd.) This correlation between IRD and pCO2 is critical since it leads us to the hypothesis that a decline of pCO2 could have driven the climate in the polar regions over a temperature threshold, which enabled the onset of continental glaciers and ice sheets on the surface of the Arctic Sea (St. John 2008). This is only one of many possible reasons of the NHG onset, where other potential causes suggested for the initiation of the NHG are: events of mountain building; plateau uplift in southern Asia and the American West; Volcanic triggering, resulting in aerosols in the atmosphere; and the closure of Panama Seaway, which would have changed the whole ocean circulation and distribution of cold vs. warm ocean water (St. John et al. ... • 16. The Pros And Cons Of Inequality Equality and justice are core values in modern democracies. Yet, we curiously accept massive levels of inequality. In fact, there are numerous reasons why countries accept or even promote economic inequality. In this paper, I will argue that everyone has a right to benefit from their own labour. And, it follows from this right that governments should act against inequality only to raise the neediest above a level of subsistence. In Canada, the richest 20% own over 70% of total wealth while the bottom 20% own less than 1%. This has important implications according to many experts, including epidemiologist Richard Wilkinson. His research reveals a strong connection between inequality and social problems such as mental illness, drug addiction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This argument has two sides to it. The best performing countries on Wilkinson s index of health and social problems, while relatively equal, all are measured as the happiest countries in the world with strong community spirit. Inequality and social problems are likely to be symptoms rather than causes of countries lacking this cooperative attitude. The second side to the argument is that inequality is itself unjust. However, few philosophers would claim justice or fairness relates only to equality. There must also be an element of need or merit. Some people are simply more deserving. Ability or willingness to work hard contributes to this merit. Additionally, not everyone requires the same resources to achieve the same standard of living. For instance, housing and transportation is likely costlier for someone living in Toronto compared to suburban Ontario. In this sense, justice may not only tolerate, but require ... This point in the Freedom Riders journey was one of the low points for the Riders. They were dehumanized and treated terribly in the jail, this shown in the way the panels are illustrated. As soon as the Riders entered the jail cells, the white borders started to transition into black borders. This transitions the tone the reader feels while reading. The dark colors cause the reader to subconsciously feel unsettled and unhappy, which is what the Freedom Riders felt during their time at the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Ccc s Work Processes Work processes are several individual processes that make up the complete organizational process. It is important to understand how the actions of one, effect many. In this part of the system and structure analysis, Carey Counseling Center does an effective job with its work processes. CCC was established in the late 70s, giving CCC plenty of time to hone their craft in the community mental health industry. One of the previous opportunity assessment tools would help CCC s work processes be carried out much smoother. If CCC was able to communicate the new program offerings with other staff and make them aware of the immense amount of new services provided for clients, then the work processes CCC is attempting to achieve would be realized ... • 26. External Forces In My Hero Academia, By Izuku Midoriya There are moments in one s life that can be attributed to external factors or internal factors, or a mixture of both. However, people have a tendency to reason either external forces or internal forces more than the other for outcomes. Julian Rotter called this dimension locus of control, the extent to which people will perceive outcomes as internally controllable or externally controlled (Myers, 2013, p. 57). If a person attributes outcomes to mostly his or her own control, he or she is said to have an internal locus of control; if a person attributes outcomes to mostly external forces, the person is said to have an external locus of control. In the anime, My Hero Academia, the main character, Izuku Midoriya, displays primarily the external locus of control. The main idea behind the anime is that Izuku is living in a world full of ... The odds are definitely against him, for most individuals in this anime world, people are born with their quirk and it develops by the age of four. This means that all of these people already have practice and control over their quirk and are ready to put it to use in U.A. High School; U.A. • 27. Examples Of Narcissism In The Alchemist When Coelho included a different version of the story, Narcissus, in the prologue, he hinted that one of the themes in the Alchemist would be man s relationship with nature. This was his way of introducing the concept that all things are the manifestation of one thing only. And that when we recognize that and begin to work with nature, that we will achieve great things. The lake, which Coelho wrote about, in the Narcissus story supports this by saying, I weep for Narcissus, but I never noticed that Narcissus was beautiful. I weep because, each time he knelt beside my banks, I could see, in the depths of his eyes, my own beauty reflected. After reading the book I came to believe that there is an element of narcissism in following one s own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Englishman and Santiago are both looking for something, the alchemist and treasure. But the difference is that the boy is searching by observing his surrounding and the Englishman is searching by reading the books. Though they might not agree with each other s ways they still respect each other and are good friends. As Santiago tells himself, Everyone has his or her own way of learning things. The Alchemist chose to befriend Santiago instead of the Englishman because Santiago examined the desert and the people of the caravan. The Englishman was immersed in his books, not bothering to contemplate the desert until Santiago advised him to. The alchemist even says, He has other things to do first. But he s on the right track. He has begun to try to understand the desert. As for the two hawks and the falcon they represent the understanding of nature and what it tells us through symbols. They also reveal the knowledge of how the world and all of its inhabitants communicate and ultimately work together to find their personal legend. As far as the fact that they are dead, it is my belief that the alchemist sent his falcon to kill them because Santiago read their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. Persuasive Speech On Chasing A Dog When a dog goes chasing after a rabbit, it should stop to smell the white picket fence that it passes, to mark its territory on the fire hydrant, and make friends with the other dog that always sits on the corner. Life is like chasing a rabbit through the neighborhood, and I believe one should take advantage of every opportunity given to stop and enjoy life. As a freshman art student, I never thought my weird art teacher would make an impact in my life. He walks into the classroom every day a few seconds late and announces GREETINGS ALL! and then usually followed by a weird comment about our drawings or just his thought of the day. He is full of personality and opinions, although he never forces us to believe them, he always speaks his thoughts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My art teacher pauses, Stop worrying about getting things done and just enjoy what you have in front of you compared to where you where when you started, not when you finish cause you re not there yet. I look back down at my drawing and think about how I started with a white piece of paper and now I have every inch of the paper covered with pencil marks and eraser scraps, it is a starting point not the finish. I remember how others have dropped this class, but I decided to stick with it and push myself. A few weeks later I had fixed my drawing and I have to admit it was looking pretty great. This was made when an artist had a cat named Orville, sadly he died by getting smacked by a car. The artist had an idea of making a copper out of him. Now from that day forward he has made all different types of coppers using animals. For me there is one question, is making animals into copters really just animal cruelty. Orvillecopter was not always a copter he was an ordinary cat doing ordinary ordianary things like running away from dogs, trying to get fish from the fish bowl, catching rats or a mouse, you get the idea.
