Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden was established in 1927 by Susanna Bixby Bryant to research, study, and display native California flora. It became affiliated with The Claremont Colleges in 1951 and is now home to Claremont Graduate University's botany program. Over half of the garden's 86 acres displays native California plant communities to depict their natural habitats and support research in botany and plant evolution. The garden also educates the public on using native plants in home landscaping.
