1. Radio advert
I have just listen to a radio advertisement from Nandos which lasted the
normal time in which and radio advert is meant to last thirty seconds. It was
meant to be a humeral advert that was meant to use comedy to sell the
advert. They used this to tell people who are listening about nandos and to
inform them what it is about and then persuade them into going . the advert is
an native with someone with male Mexican accent speaking they have done
this because the spice is related to Mexican cousins .the man used informal
lanuge with a lot of hints to stereotypical Mexican language .I believe that this
could be offending people who are Mexican . The advert had a slogan which is
“its ok” they used this to generate all people into going to into Nandos by
saying “its ok” who you are you can go to Nandos .They say there the name
Nados three times in the advert . This is done twice at the beginning this allows
people enough times to know who it is that they permuting. Although they say
the name of the shop multiple times it never says any of the contact
information of the shop they have done this because there are so many nados
shops across the country it would go over the thirty second mark so they hope
that there is a nandos near to the listener that they know where it is this might
be done because a lot of listeners will be driving so they will not be able to
write down the adress , I don’t think that is a good idea I think they should at
least give the website name so the listeners have something to look at .There
was also mariachi music playing in the background of this because the spicy
meat of Nandos is meant to be form Mexico but that is wrong since it
Porchergives . The music is fine for them to have on so long as they have not
breached copyright on the track and that they have paid legal to have it on the
advert.this again could offend someone who is Mexican but it does not seem
the breach the RACC code which only says that you must follow the equality
act and the human rights act . In my option I don’t think it is too bad but I can
see how people can be offended by it
I personal do not think the advert is very good I prefer that radio
advertisement gets straight to the point rather than try to make humer out of
it . I also think that it is not very remberable that makes it stand out from other
adverts.
