1. This advert was to promote the restaurant Nando’s, by using humour, music and
repetitive words I think the advert worked well to attract there target audience as
well as other people.
Looking into the style of the Nandos advert it contains many styles such as its humour
as it mentions ‘if your eyebrows join in the middle like my sister’ as well as repetition
as he keeps repeating ‘Its ok!’, But it’s also very simple and modern as it refers to
‘cheeky Nandos’ which is a tag line that the target audience says.
The overall message in this advert is, whoever you are you can come and eat at
Nandos. Which are plain and simple and so when listening to the advert you know
exactly what the advert is trying to do- persuade people to eat at Nandos.
The type of voices and accents in this advert is what makes it so remember able. It’s
a male’s voice which has a Mexican accent for effect, but the foreign accent is put
on for the humour of the advert as it is put on and over exaggerated, Plus Nandos is
Portuguese not Mexican.
The tone of language the advert used was informative as it tells you basic
information about the food that you could eat plus it’s very jokey. As the main target
audience for Nandos is teens, they don’t want to listen to a long boring voice go on
about what food a company sells, this is why this advert works well, it’s fast paced
and funny but gives you information.
Tag lines and slogans are used by saying ‘Cheeky’ it refers to how the target
audience call it a ‘Cheeky Nandos’ but also as it keeps repeating ‘Its ok’ that is used
as a tag line. This again workswell as it appeals more to the target audience.
The company name ‘Nando’s’ was said 3 times within in the advert. As it was
comical and people will remember this advert I think 3 times was enough.
One main thing that let this advert down was there wasno contact details
mentioned. They could have mentioned a social site such as there Facebook or
twitter or even their own website and explain to their audience that if you have a
membership with Nandos you get special offers and deals. Saying about the special
deals and offers would havepersuaded the audience to sign up to get one of these
cards.
There was an upbeat tune which wassimilar to a salsa beat, as it was supposed to
be a Mexican it related to the man speaking. The sound was catchy and stayed in
your head so again this was a good way of making people not forget the advert.
The main purpose of this advert is to tell the audience it doesn’t matter who you are
or what you’re going to eat, everyone is welcome to eat at Nandos. I feel like the
advert does this well as it appeals to the target audience as well as other people, its
saying it doesn’t matter who you are we cater for everyone.

2. Despite it being uninformative it was certainly catchy as it involved humour. The
salsa music and accent was another added effect to make the advert remember
able but as it was a put on Mexican accent people could take offenceto this and
especially the part about the monobrow.
But altogether I think the target audience of this advert would enjoy it and in the
end of the day that’s all that matters.
