This document proposes a new algorithm called Local Tetra Pattern (LTrP) for content-based image retrieval. LTrP encodes images in four directions instead of two directions used in other local pattern algorithms like LBP, LDP, and LTP. LTrP extracts texture features in four directions and magnitude from images. It represents each center pixel with a 12-bit or 13-bit code based on the pixel values in the four directions. Histograms of these codes are then used as feature vectors to retrieve similar images from a database. The paper argues that encoding images in four directions provides more discriminative texture information than two directions, improving content-based image retrieval performance.
This document summarizes a research paper that proposes a fractal image compression technique using fixed levels of scaling to reduce the encoding time. Fractal image compression works by partitioning an image into blocks and finding similar blocks elsewhere in the image to encode self-similarities. Typically, the scaling parameter is scanned through a range of values to find the best match, but this increases encoding time. The proposed technique uses four predefined fixed scaling values (0.45, 0.60, 0.82, 0.96) instead of scanning to reduce encoding time. An algorithm is presented and implemented in Matlab to test the technique on standard images. Experimental results showed the fixed scaling levels approach can speed up the encoding process for fractal image compression

A Robust Object Recognition using LBP, LTP and RLBPEditor IJMTER
The document proposes two new feature sets called Discriminative Robust Local Binary Pattern (DRLBP) and Discriminative Robust Local Ternary Pattern (DRLTP) for object recognition. It summarizes the drawbacks of existing features like Local Binary Pattern (LBP), Local Ternary Pattern (LTP), and Robust LBP (RLBP) that do not differentiate between weak and strong contrast patterns or brightness reversal. The proposed DRLBP and DRLTP combine edge and texture information into a single representation to better analyze objects and address the issues with prior features. They are designed to improve object recognition performance.
Abstract: Many applications such as robot navigation, defense, medical and remote sensing performvarious processing tasks, which can be performed more easily when all objects in different images of the same scene are combined into a single fused image. In this paper, we propose a fast and effective method for image fusion. The proposed method derives the intensity based variations that is large and small scale, from the source images. In this approach, guided filtering is employed for this extraction. Gaussian and Laplacian pyramidal approach is then used to fuse the different layers obtained. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can obtain better performance for fusion of
all sets of images. The results clearly indicate the feasibility of the proposed approach.
The document summarizes a study on fractal image compression of satellite images using range and domain techniques. It discusses fractal image compression methods, including partitioning images into range and domain blocks. Affine transformations are applied to domain blocks to match range blocks. Peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) values are calculated for reconstructed rural and urban satellite images after 4 iterations, showing PSNR of around 17.0 for rural images and 22.0 for urban images. The proposed algorithm partitions the original image into non-overlapping range blocks and selects domain blocks twice the size of range blocks.

Image Matting via LLE/iLLE Manifold LearningITIIIndustries
Accurately extracting foreground objects is the problem of isolating the foreground in images and video, called image matting which has wide applications in digital photography. This problem is severely ill-posed in the sense that, at each pixel, one must estimate the foreground and background pixels and the so-called alpha value from only pixel information. The most recent work in natural image matting rely on local smoothness assumptions about foreground and background colours on which a cost function has been established. In this paper, we propose an extension to the class of affinity based matting techniques by incorporating local manifold structural
information to produce both a smoother matte based on the socalled improved Locally Linear Embedding. We illustrate our new algorithm using the standard benchmark images and very comparable results have been obtained.
Interpolation Technique using Non Linear Partial Differential Equation with E...CSCJournals
This document presents a new image zooming algorithm that combines edge directed bicubic interpolation and a non-linear partial differential equation (PDE) method. The algorithm first uses edge directed bicubic interpolation to enlarge the image and fill empty pixels, producing a high resolution image. This noisy image is then input to a fourth-order PDE model for noise removal. Simulation results on test images show the proposed method achieves higher peak signal-to-noise ratios and structural similarity indices than other interpolation methods like bilinear and locally adaptive zooming. The method reduces artifacts and blurring near edges in zoomed images.
The document summarizes radial basis function (RBF) networks. Key points:
- RBF networks use radial basis functions as activation functions and can universally approximate continuous functions.
- They are local approximators compared to multilayer perceptrons which are global approximators.
- Learning involves determining the centers, widths, and weights. Centers can be randomly selected or via clustering. Widths are usually different for each basis function. Weights are typically learned via least squares or gradient descent methods.
Abstract
Field of image processing has vast applications in medical, forensic, research etc., It includes various domains like enhancement,
classification, segmentation, etc., which are widely used for these applications. Image Enhancement is the pre processing step on
which the accuracy of the result lies. Image enhancement aims to improve the visual appearance of an image, without affecting
the original attributes (i.e.,) image contrast is adjusted and noise is removed to produce better quality image. Hence image
enhancement is one of the most important tasks in image processing. Enhancement is classified into two categories spatial domain
enhancement and frequency domain enhancement. Spatial domain enhancement acts upon pixel value whereas frequency domain
enhancement acts on the Fourier transform of the image. The enhancement techniques to be used depend on modality, climatic
and visual perspective etc., In this paper, we present a survey on various existing image enhancement techniques.

Data Hiding In Medical Images by Preserving Integrity of ROI Using Semi-Rever...IJERA Editor
Text fusion in images is an important technology for image processing. We have lots of important information related to the patient’s reports and need lots of space to store and the proper position and name which relates that image with that data. In our work we are going to find out the ROI (region of interest) for the particular image and will fuse the related document in the NROI (non-region of interest) of the image, till yet we have many techniques to fuse text data in the medical images one of form them is to fuse data at the boarders of the images and build the particular and pre-defined boarder space. We have propose an algorithm in which we first find out the area of interest and after that we find noisy pixels of the image to embed data in that noisy portions of the image. We use wavelets for smoothing images and segmentation process for extracting region of interest. Coordinates of the noisy pixels have been located and data has been embedded in those pixels .The used embedding technique embed data in least significant bits, hence does not degrade the quality of the image to unacceptable limits. Results show that it gives good PSNR and MSE values which are used for measuring quality effected performance.
New Approach of Preprocessing For Numeral RecognitionIJERA Editor
The present paper proposes a new approach of preprocessing for handwritten, printed and isolated numeral
characters. The new approach reduces the size of the input image of each numeral by discarding the redundant
information. This method reduces also the number of features of the attribute vector provided by the extraction
features method. Numeral recognition is carried out in this work through k nearest neighbors and multilayer
perceptron techniques. The simulations have obtained a good rate of recognition in fewer running time.

Acoustic Analysis of Commercially Available Timber Species in NigeriaIJERA Editor
Several acoustic techniques have been used to determine elastic and damping properties of trees, logs and beams in different parts of the world but such acoustic data on timber are not available in standard form in Nigeria. Ten species of locally occurring Nigerian timber (five hardwood species and five softwoods species) were sampled and subjected to acoustic analysis using a „Portable Ultrasonic Non destructive Digital Indicating Tester (PUNDIT), with a view to assessing the stiffness and strength characteristics of the timber species by obtaining the velocity of ultrasonic longitudinal stress waves through the timber piece and hence calculating the dynamic Modulus of Elasticity (MoE) of each species. Results obtained showed that the velocity of acoustic waves through a timber piece and hence the dynamic modulus of elasticity (MoE) of the piece is directly proportional to the strength of the wood. Of all the timber species tested, the species with the highest MoE value (8.48GPa) was Mansonia (mansonia altissima) while that with the lowest MoE value (1.64GPa) was Alstonia (alstonia booeneicongensis). This study thus provides for the first time, valuable data on the strength characteristics of ten commercially available species of Nigerian timber represented in terms of their dynamic MoE values.

This document summarizes a research paper that proposes a versatile photovoltaic (PV) generation system that can supply both AC and DC loads. It includes a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm to optimize PV panel output. A multi-output boost converter regulates and shares the output to charge a battery and power DC loads. An inverter with hysteresis current control converts the third output to AC power for loads. Simulation results show the solar panel producing 15V/1A, the battery charging output, and current control maintaining the inverter output within hysteresis bands to improve power quality.
This document summarizes a study on the durability and strength properties of high performance self-compacting concrete with ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) and silica fumes. Seven concrete mixes were prepared with different replacement levels of GGBS (10-30%) and silica fumes (3-9%). Tests were conducted to evaluate the workability, mechanical strength, and rapid chloride permeability of the hardened concrete at various ages. The results showed that the addition of GGBS and silica fumes improved the density and reduced permeability of the self-compacting concrete, leading to enhanced durability, while maintaining adequate compressive and tensile strengths.
This document discusses features needed for a parallel pattern-based programming system for multicore architectures. It begins by outlining challenges with parallel programming, such as difficulty decomposing problems and debugging parallel code. It then discusses how design patterns can help structure parallelism and describes existing pattern-based parallel programming systems. Key features identified for a new system include ease of programming through abstraction, support for common languages like C/C++/Java, flexibility to optimize performance and handle changes, and portability across architectures. The system should allow patterns to be composed hierarchically and separated from application code for simplicity.
Reusability is an only one best direction to increase developing productivity and maintainability of application. One must first search for good tested software component and reusable. Developed Application software by one programmer can be shown useful for others also component. This is proving that code specifics to application requirements can be also reused in develop projects related with same requirements. The main aim of this paper proposed a way for reusable module. An process that takes source code as a input that will helped to take the decision approximately which particular software, reusable artefacts should be reused or not.
Properties of ‘Emu’ Feather Fiber CompositesIJERA Editor
A composite is usually made up of at least two materials out of which one is binding material called matrix and the other is a reinforcement material known as fiber. Many researchers are focusing on natural fiber composites. But, in the present work, composites were prepared with epoxy (Araldite LY-556) resin and „emu‟ bird feathers as fiber. The composites were prepared by varying the weight percentage (P) of „emu‟ fiber ranging from 1 to 5 and length (L) of feather fibers from 1 to 5 cm. The composite specimens were prepared and cured as per ASTM standards. Studies were carried out on various properties like mechanical properties, Thermal properties and Effect of atmosphere, Soil and certain Chemicals. An attempt is made to model the mechanical properties through response surface methodology (RSM). Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) is used to check the validity of the model. The results reveal that the developed models are suitable for prediction of mechanical properties of Epoxy „Emu‟ Feather Fiber Composites.
Performance analysis of chain code descriptor for hand shape classificationijcga
Feature Extraction is an important task for any Image processing application. The visual properties of any image are its shape, texture and colour. Out of these shape description plays important role in any image classification. The shape description method classified into two types, contour base and region based. The contour base method concentrated on the shape boundary line and the region based method considers whole area. In this paper, contour based, the chain code description method was experimented for different hand shape.
The chain code descriptor of various hand shapes was calculated and tested with different classifier such as k-nearest- neighbour (k-NN), Support vector machine (SVM) and Naive Bayes. Principal component analysis (PCA) was applied after the chain code description. The performance of SVM was found better than k-NN and Naive Bayes with recognition rate 93%.
APPLYING R-SPATIOGRAM IN OBJECT TRACKING FOR OCCLUSION HANDLINGsipij
Object tracking is one of the most important problems in computer vision. The aim of video tracking is to extract the trajectories of a target or object of interest, i.e. accurately locate a moving target in a video sequence and discriminate target from non-targets in the feature space of the sequence. So, feature descriptors can have significant effects on such discrimination. In this paper, we use the basic idea of many trackers which consists of three main components of the reference model, i.e., object modeling, object detection and localization, and model updating. However, there are major improvements in our system. Our forth component, occlusion handling, utilizes the r-spatiogram to detect the best target candidate. While spatiogram contains some moments upon the coordinates of the pixels, r-spatiogram computes region-based compactness on the distribution of the given feature in the image that captures richer features to represent the objects. The proposed research develops an efficient and robust way to keep tracking the object throughout video sequences in the presence of significant appearance variations and severe occlusions. The proposed method is evaluated on the Princeton RGBD tracking dataset considering sequences with different challenges and the obtained results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Image Information Retrieval From Incomplete Queries Using Color and Shape Fea...sipij
Content based image retrieval (CBIR) is the task of searching digital images from a large database based on the extraction of features, such as color, texture and shape of the image. Most of the research in CBIR has been carried out with complete queries which were present in the database. This paper investigates utility of CBIR techniques for retrieval of incomplete and distorted queries. Studies were made in two categories of the query: first is complete and second is incomplete. The query image is considered to be distorted or incomplete image if it has some missing information, some undesirable objects, blurring, noise due to disturbance at the time of image acquisition etc. Color (hue, saturation and value (HSV) color space model) and shape (moment invariants and Fourier descriptor) features are used to represent the image. The algorithm was tested on database consisting of 1875 images. The results show that retrieval accuracy of incomplete queries is highly increased by fusing color and shape features giving precision of 79.87%. MATLAB ® 7.01 and its image processing toolbox have been used to implement the algorithm.
This document presents a paper that proposes an image registration algorithm using log-polar transform and FFT-based correlation. The algorithm first estimates the angle, scale, and translation between two images by converting them to the log-polar domain, where rotation and scaling appear as translation. It then recovers the residual translation using gradient correlation in the spatial domain. The algorithm is tested on various images related by similarity transformations and is shown to accurately recover scales up to 5.85 times while being robust to noise. It provides a computationally efficient way to register images using properties of the Fourier transform and log-polar mappings.

This document presents a new algorithm for content-based image retrieval (CBIR) based on graph cut theory and local binary patterns (LBP). The algorithm extracts nine LBP histograms from each image as features by comparing each pixel in a 3x3 pattern to the other pixels using graph cut theory. Two experiments on texture databases show the proposed Graph Cut Local Binary Patterns (GCLBP) algorithm achieves significantly better retrieval accuracy than LBP and other transform-based methods, as measured by average retrieval precision and rate.

Face recognition using selected topographical features IJECEIAES
This paper represents a new features selection method to improve an existed feature type. Topographical (TGH) features provide large set of features by assigning each image pixel to the related feature depending on image gradient and Hessian matrix. Such type of features was handled by a proposed features selection method. A face recognition feature selector (FRFS) method is presented to inspect TGH features. FRFS depends in its main concept on linear discriminant analysis (LDA) technique, which is used in evaluating features efficiency. FRFS studies feature behavior over a dataset of images to determine the level of its performance. At the end, each feature is assigned to its related level of performance with different levels of performance over the whole image. Depending on a chosen threshold, the highest set of features is selected to be classified by SVM classifier.
Spectral approach to image projection with cubiciaemedu
This document summarizes a research paper that proposes a new method for image projection using spectral interpolation with cubic B-spline interpolation. The key points are:
1) Existing super resolution methods based on Fourier transforms have limitations in providing high visual quality when scaling images.
2) The proposed method first transforms image frames into the frequency domain using FFT. It then interpolates in the spectral domain using cubic B-spline interpolation before projecting the interpolated data onto a high resolution grid.
3) Experimental results on a test video sequence show the proposed method provides higher visual quality compared to conventional Fourier-based approaches, while also having faster computation time.
Deep Local Parametric Filters for Image EnhancementSean Moran
The document proposes a new DeepLPF method for image enhancement using learnable parametric filters. DeepLPF estimates parameters for elliptical, graduated, and polynomial filters using a CNN to reproduce local image retouching practices. It introduces a novel architecture that regresses spatially localized filter parameters and a plug-and-play neural block with a filter fusion mechanism. Evaluation on benchmark datasets shows DeepLPF achieves state-of-the-art performance for tasks like classical image retouching and low-light enhancement, with an efficient model containing only a few neural weights.

This document presents an efficient technique called Back-Inking for document retrieval and image reconstruction from stored document images. Back-Inking works by replacing white pixels in an initialized blank image with black pixels, based on the addresses of information pixels stored in an array. The technique is tested on documents in different formats (GIF, BMP, JPG, TIF) and resolutions, showing that higher resolution images take longer to reconstruct but have better quality, while smaller partial document images reconstruct faster than full pages. Back-Inking provides an efficient way to retrieve images from stored address data.
Comparative Analysis of Lossless Image Compression Based On Row By Row Classi...IJERA Editor
This document proposes and evaluates a near lossless image compression algorithm that divides color images into red, green, and blue channels. It classifies pixels in each channel row-by-row and records the results in mask images. The image data is then decomposed into sequences based on the classification and the mask images are hidden in the least significant bits of the sequences. Different encoding schemes like LZW, Huffman, and RLE are applied and compared. Experimental results on test images show the proposed algorithm achieves smaller bits per pixel than simple encoding schemes. PSNR values also indicate very little difference between original and reconstructed images.

I. INTRODUCTION
Multimedia communication refers to the representation, storage, retrieval and dissemination of computer processable information presents in many forms such as text, image, graphics ,speech, audio, video and data communications[1].The user needs a system that prepares and represents the information of interest which allows for the dynamic control of applications and provides a natural interface. To address various challenges of multimedia retrieval LBP,LTP,LDP and LTrPalgorithms have been proposed and discussed. Local Binary Pattern is a very powerful and efficient texture operator. It operates in two dimensions onthe image. Input image is divided into pattern [3] which gives the relationship between the reference pixel with neighbor pixel which develop a gray value.2(p-1) histogram generates 256 different labels can be used as texture descriptor. Eq 1 represents LBP condition[4].
LBP P,R = 2(푃−1)푃푃 =1∗푓(푔푝−푔푐) (1) F(x) = 1,푥≥0 0,표푡푕푒푟푤푖푠푒 Where, 푔푐=centre pixel gray values. 푔푝= gray values of neighbor pixel. P= number of neighbor pixel. R= radius of neighbor pixel.
Local Ternary Patternconstitutes a particular quality of texture classification.LTP codes more resistant to noise, because threshold at exactly the value of the central pixel they tend to be sensitive to noise. In which gray-levels in a zone of width ±t around center pixel is set the values zero, above that is set to +1 and below that is set to -1, t is a user- specified threshold which is shown in Eq2[6].
In LDP, LBP can be considered as first-order Local Derivative Pattern with all direction. Local Derivative Pattern is a general framework to encode directive pattern feature from local derivative various. The (n-1)thorder local derivative various can encode the nth-order LDP. I is the image, Z is pattern from the image. The first-order derivatives along 0°, 45°, 90° and 135° directions, which is denoted as I’α(Z) where α= 0°, 45°, 90° and 135°. If Z0 is one point in I(Z), Zi, i = 1, …, 8, are the neighboring point around Z0 So the four first-order derivatives at Z=Z0 are shown in Eq 3. I 10°(Z0) = I(Z0) – I(Z4) I145°(Z0) = I(Z0) – I(Z3) I 190°(Z0) = I(Z0) – I(Z2) I 1135°(Z0) = I(Z0) – I(Z1) (3)

The second-order directional LDP can be defined in Eq4 and LDP2(Z), is defined as 32 bits sequence LDP2α(Z0) = {f(I’α(Z0), I’α(Z1)), f(I’α(Z0), I’α(Z2)), …, f(I’α(Z0), I’α(Z8))}, α= 0°, 45°, 90° and 135°. LTrP obtains 8 bit values in each direction.
II. OVERVIEW OF ALGORITHMS
LBP is able to encode the images with binary number such as 0 and 1[4]. LTP able to encode the images with numbers such as 0, +1 and -1, later we converted into binary numbers 0 and 1.LDP able to encodes the image in different direction such as 00,450,900 and 1350[5,7].
III. LOCAL TETRA PATTERN (LTrP)
Local tetra pattern(LTrp) is able to encode the image in different direction (Four Direction) and magnitude. LTrp obtains 8 bit values in each direction[8]. A. Direction construction of LTrP LTrP extract more information with four distinct values. Which gives relation between center pixel and its neighbor pixel based on different direction and its derivative. The given input image I(Z) in 1st order derivative in horizontal and vertical direction such as 00 and 900 as shown in eq 5. I10°(gc) = I(gh)-(gc) I190°( gc) = I(gv)-(gc) (5) Where I10°(gc) – center pixel in horizontal direction. I190°( gc) – center pixel in vertical direction. Direction of the center pixel can be calculated as shown in eq 6. 1, I10°(gc)≥ 0 and I190°(gc)≥ 0I1Dir(gc)= 2,I10°(gc)<0 and I190°(gc)≥ 0 3, I10°(gc)< 0 and I190°(gc)< 0 4,I10°(gc)≥0 andI190°(gc)<0 (6) Eq (6) shows the direction of the center pixel. Image is converted into four different direction[15]. The 2nd order derivative LTrP2 of center pixel is given by Eq 7 and Eq 8. LTrP2(gc)={f3(I1Dir.(gc), I1Dir.(g1)), f3(I1Dir.(gc), I1Dir.(g2)), ……….., f3(I1Dir.(gc), I1Dir.(gp))}|p=8. ………..(7)
f3(I1Dir.(gc), I1Dir.(gp)) = 0, I1Dir.(gc) = I1Dir.(gp) I1Dir.(gp),else …(8)
We get 8 bit tetra pattern then they are divided into four parts. Each part is converted into three binary patterns as shown in fig 1.The direction 1 represents the center pixel value. Direction 2,3,4 represents neighbor pixel values.

Four possible direction of center pixel such as 1,2,3,4 as shown in Eq (6), function of the 1st order derivative is expressed as 2nd order derivative. Fig 2 shows directions of LTrp. Local Tetra Pattern values we get 3 0 3 4 0 3 2 0 thus we get 12 binary pattern .13th binary pattern we get through magnitude pattern such as 1 1 1 0 0 1 0 1.Fig 3 shows values of LTrp.

Filtering of color images can be done in two ways. In the first method filtering of the three primaries(RGB) are done separately. In second approach luminosity image is filtered first and then result is utilized to a color image. Both are valid. The draw back in the first method is separate filters need to be used which is shown in Fig4.

IV. CONCLUSION
This paper presents development and implementation details of LTrP. The proposed method would be greatly beneficial to retrieve the images since the pixel value is calculated by four directions and magnitude instead of two directions. This concept results improves the performance efficiency of CBIR when we relatively compare with LBP, LTP and LDP. In our future research work the experimental results of LTrP will be tabulated.
