1. QUESTION 7: LOOKING BACK AT YOUR
PRELIMINARY TASK, WHAT DO YOU FEEL
FROM IT TO THE FUL PRODUCT?
By learning these different tools it
made me more confident going into
making my real magazine alongside
all the planning we did with the
genre photo-shoot practices.
My final magazine compared to the
school magazine I made within the
preliminary task (seen below) is a lot
more developed and looks a lot more
professional due to the knowledge I
gained from creating and planning
both magazines. The features are
noticeably more developed and more
realistic.
Preliminary task: School Magazine
Another factor, which aided me in creating my
final magazine, was the inspiration gained by
looking at professional magazines.
We also had practice with recreating current
magazine contents pages and double page
spreads (seen below). This benefitted me as it
taught me how to use the tools in a more
realistic way, which would be seen on a
magazine. This meant my final magazine looked
more professional and it is noticeable that I
used some of these features I learnt from this
task.
When it comes to creating a magazine my skills with the different software
needed to create a magazine have improved a lot. My skills have improved in a
way of having more knowledge of the different tools on the software (lasso tool,
text tool, etc.), which allowed me to add more features to my magazine. This
made my magazine look a lot more realistic and professional to the magazine I
created in the preliminary task.

YOU HAVE LEARNT IN THE PROGRESSION
In my preliminary task, I planned on using a
flash within the bottom left of my magazine
however as I gained experience and got
better with the software I realised that it
didn’t look as professional as it could have.
