The author reflects on improvements made from their preliminary college magazine to the final music magazine. For the music magazine, higher quality images were used, the cover line was properly positioned in the middle left of the page rather than the top, and a consistent color scheme was selected that would appeal to all genders of the target audience. Feedback from evaluating the college magazine about asking for help with the design software, researching reference magazines more, and taking more diverse photos was applied to creating a stronger final music magazine.

By looking back at my preliminary task, I feel that I
have improved a lot. Comparing the two magazines I
can see that my music magazine looks much more
professional. The image taken for the college
magazine was taking on the compact camera which
is not as high quality as the DSLR Camera which was
used for my music magazine.

3. On the cover of my college magazine I have put the main
cover line at the top quarter of the page where it isn’t meant
to be. I have learnt from that and for my music magazine it is
on the middle left hand quarter of the page where it should
be.
On my college magazine the font sizes of the teasers are in
different sizes which make it look very unprofessional and not
tidy at all. I have also learnt about different colours that work
well together going by who my target audience is. For my
music magazine I have made sure that I have used a colour
scheme which is suitable for all genders and is appealing to all
genders. For my college magazine I didn’t do that.

4. Looking back at my evaluation for my college magazine I stated that in order to make my magazine better I should
ask for help when using InDesign which I then found out how to use correctly. I also said that I should research a few
different r&b and hip hop magazine so that I have a wider background knowledge of them, that I done.
Lastly, I said that for my main task I should take a variety of
different shots. I believe that I was successful in doing so. I
took close ups, full body shots, upper body shots, colour
shots, and black and white shots. This truly helped me to
make my magazine as successful as I could and really portray
the Hip Hop and R&B music scene.
