EVALUATION TASK 7
Looking back at your preliminary task (the school magazine
task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression
from it to full product?
PRELIMINARY TASK MUSIC MAGAZINE
FRONT COVER
I think that I have a made a lot of progress from the preliminary
task to the music magazine task when it comes to the front
cover. This is because I took the skills that I briefly learned
during the first task and developed them further so that I could
   have a successful final product.
I also researched a lot of other magazines so that I was could get
the idea of what the normal forms and conventions are of a
typical music magazine, while in the preliminary task, I only
looked at one and therefore did not know/understand what a
typical student magazine front cover would look like.
For the front cover of my music magazine, I tried to make it look
as professional as possible by keeping the puffs in line, having
a barcode and using an image which is relevant to the genre of
   the magazine.
PRELIMINARY TASK MUSIC MAGAZINE
CONTENTS PAGE

I think that once again, I made some progress on my contents
page because while in my preliminary task, I did follow the
convention of having what is in the magazine, I did not have
any pictures and this then made it look like a list rather than a
   magazine contents page.
For my music magazine task, I made sure I looked at numerous
contents pages and then stuck to one idea in order to make it
look as much as a professional music magazine as possible.
The second time around I also used multiple images which made
the layout look a lot better and interesting. Although there is
more to read on the music magazine task, it looks more
complete and worthy of its price.
PRELIMINARY
           TASK

MUSIC
MAGAZINE
DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD
For my preliminary task, the double page spread didn’t
look like it was for a student magazine because it didn’t
focus on something that was explicitly student related
such as revision tips or about exams ect.
The layout for the preliminary task looked less like a
magazine article. I learned from this and added columns
to my final product (music magazine) in order to make it
look more easy to the eye. I also used my own images
for the double page spread because that way, I was able
to capture the model the way I wanted to and not rely on
  secondary images.
