3. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do
you feel you have learnt in the progression
from it to the full product?
I have learnt how to take pictures more professionally so that it
looks as it would on a real life magazine. I also learnt how to edit
on Photoshop to make it look like an everyday magazine would.
From my preliminary task I have developed , My target audience
for my preliminary task was sixth form students. For my main task
I had to think about the age range of who my magazine would be
for. I have learnt to experiment on Photoshop with different
colours and fonts. I have also looked at different RnB Magazines
and took ideas that I have put into my front cover of my media
product. I looked at how magazines always use 1-3 colours and
have chosen red , black and white. I have learnt that you take
photos from different angles. I had to look at the forms and
conventions of RnB and this all put my music magazine together .
4. Do you know more about forms and conventions,
using design software, taking photographs, targeting
a specific audience, writing articles, headlines, cover
lines etc?
I think looking into the Genre of the magazine that I wanted to do
made it easier for me to plan my music magazine , from this I had
developed a contents page and a article. Taking photos became
easier and I found this out by taking photos and choosing the best
one to put into My music magazine. I had to make sure that the
audience knew what genre the magazine was and who the target
audience was, which was teenagers , I looked at RnB magazines
with different headlines and cover lines and got the idea to call my
magazine “Unique”.
