The student learned to use several technologies in creating their music magazine project, including Photoshop, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, a Canon 600D camera, lighting, and a mobile phone. Photoshop was used to edit photos by removing imperfections and adjusting brightness and contrast. PowerPoint helped organize research into magazine conventions. Internet Explorer allowed research online and tracking progress through a blog. The camera and lighting were used to take high-quality photos suited to a music magazine. Through this process, the student learned important skills like photo editing in Photoshop and how to properly set up lighting.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

1. BY PHOEBE JOHNSON
QUESTION 6
What have you learnt about
technologies through the process of
constructing this project?
2. TECHNOLOGY
During the production of my music magazine, I used many
different types of technology, such as Photoshop CS3,
Microsoft PowerPoint, Internet explorer, Cannon 600D,
lighting and Mobile phone.
3. INTERNET EXPLORER
I used to internet explorer to access blogger to continuingly track the
process of my magazine.
As well as Google to research into my target audience and for my codes
and conventions of different music magazines.
I also used internet explorer to search for tutorials on how to use
Photoshop and the camera.
Without the use of blogger it would have been very difficult to keep
track of my process as it isn’t all neatly laid out in a blog for example it
would be harder if it was handwritten.
I also used a Facebook group for my focus group, to gain an insight into
my target audiences needs and wants.
4. POWERPOINT
I used Microsoft PowerPoint to help record
my research into the codes and conventions
of a music magazine. I used PowerPoint as it
is easy to access and view, as well as a
organized place to store all of my information
and refer make to during the making of my
own music magazine.
5. PHOTOSHOP CS3
I used Photoshop to edit and layout my music
magazine. I used it to adjust the photos I was
using for my magazine, by using tools such as
the clone tool to remove any imperfections and
manipulating the picture but changing the
brightness and contrast of it. I learned how to
use Photoshop through many different tutorials
and posted them on my blog so I could access
them if I needed the help again and to keep track
of all the research that I did.
6. LIGHTING
I decided to use artificial lighting for all of my images to
give a brighter and clearer image.
I used lighting to make sure the images I took look
professional. I also used lighting to give effects to my
images, for example on my double page spread image I
set the lighting up so the top half of the models body
would be brighter than the lower half as more focus
should be on the face.
For my front cover image I used high key lighting as
this is what a lot of the music magazines did when I was
doing my research into codes and conventions.
7. CANNON 600D
I used a cannon SLR 600D as I wanted my images to
be as high quality as I could make them as my
magazine is very focused on the images.
Also I chose an SLR digital camera so I could look at
the photos straight away meaning I could take more
if I wasn’t happy quality of the photo.
This camera also has the options to change the
aperture, ISO and iris, meaning it gave me a good
chance to adjust the image to the correct standard I
wanted them without having to do it all later in post
production.
Also this camera allows you to use manual focus
which means I can get the expect point of my model I
want to be noticed the most in focus.
8. TECHNOLOGIES
IMPORTANCE
I have a learnt a lot about technology through this project, such
as learning how to set up lighting and how to use Photoshop.
I think all of these skills are very important to make sure that I
produced a music magazine hat looked convincible and like the
kind I did my research on.
I think Photoshop was one of the most important technology's I
learn how to use as I produced my magazine on Photoshop, and
was able to edit my images so that they appeared to the
professional standard of other music magazines.
Also through blogger it meant my research and product was
well presented and easy to navigate meaning I wouldn’t have
been able to produce content of such a high grade without any
of the technology that I used.
