Question 6
1. What have you learnt about
technologies in the process of creating
this product?
2. To complete my media production I had to use and
develop my existing skills using technology. These are the
list of technologies that I used:
- Digital Nikon D3200 camera
- Internet explorer
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Adobe Photoshop CS3
- Lighting
3. Perhaps the most important piece of equipment I had during my production
was the camera as I needed it to take photos for my magazine cover. Because it
was a good camera I was able to change the ISO and shutter speed to make the
photos look how I want them too. I found out how to use the camera by
watching tutorials on youtube, another way I learnt and the most effective was
by trial and error. This enabled me to try out the features on the camera and
allowed me find the most appropriate setting for my magazine. I took
multiple pictures and chose the best one, I was able to take many photos due
to the cameras large memory space.
What did you learn?
As I was inexperienced with using a camera of this type it was difficult getting
to grips with how to use it. That is why I used online tutorials and trial and
error to learn how to use it efficiently and comfortably.
4. This is a type of photo editing software that I
used. It allowed me to edit and manipulate
images to make them suited for the project. To
gain more knowledge and a better understanding
of this software I used YouTube tutorials, these
informed me on how to do specific ideas I already
had and inspired me to do new things. The main
features of Photoshop I used was how to rotate
and add photos and also how to remove a part of
an image and manipulate it via the lasso tool.
5. The main thing I used this software for is
browsing the internet I used this for gathering my
research into the codes and conventions of the
genre of my magazine. It also allowed me to
access site such as YouTube to watch tutorials on
how to use the other things that I was unsure on
how to use. It was vital as it allowed to go onto
blogger to post my blogs and see previous work
which was a massive help when seeing how my
final production was supposed to look like.
6. I used during my evaluation process. I
used this as PowerPoint is an easy and
clear way of presenting.
7. I used Lighting in my contents to make the model
look clear and stand out so that he was the main
focus point of the page. In my double page spread
I used natural lighting which created a moody
effect which is in relation to the type of music that
the artist makes. It is to try and further the
connection the artist already has with the
audience.
