We attracted our audience by linking the film to the popular Batman comic book universe and movies like The Dark Knight, which would appeal to existing fans. Using the mysterious Court of Owls villain that is unknown outside the comics also brought in new fans. Our target male audience was attracted by the inclusion of gun violence. Additionally, using teenage actors for the lead roles made the audience able to relate to the teenage characters. Audience feedback confirmed that these elements, particularly a tense phone call scene similar to one in Taken, helped engage viewers as intended.
