The document discusses how the author attracted their audience to a thriller project. They used Twitter to promote a survey about the thriller, which 33 people completed. Twitter is a good way to interact with a young audience. The slow pace of the thriller helped build suspense, and having the protagonist be the killer engaged audiences more. A female victim added sinister undertones without being explicit.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2. Attracting the Audience
• When attracting the I used twitter to promote and
ask people to answer my survey the feedback was
very good 33 people did the survey it also good
way of interacting with my audience as it’s a site
that most young people use to communicate it
would as allow people to share it with their follows I
would of used Facebook but that is not as popular
as it used to be.
3. Question 1
With our thriller we didn’t
really use fast paced it wasn’t
the best thing to do as our
thriller opening didn’t have a
lot action at the start. The
slow paced were effective
and helped build suspense
which is what we wanted.
4. Question 2
This a great cause its shows that
most of the audience that is
interested in our thriller and this is
what we wanted for 15-20 year olds
to watch our films and shows that
twitter is a great way to
communicate with this age group ad
cool be useful in the future for
promotion of the thriller.
5. Question 3
The protagonist in this thriller opening
is the killer but this is common for the
protagonist to be the most important in
a film and our protagonist is a killer so
this would engage and interest the
audience more. There is also a victim
which is also very much appreciated by
the audience
6. Question 4
In our thriller we didn’t have any
weapons we did have a phone but it
wasn’t really used a lot so I guess we
didn’t really cover that end but I don’t
think it matter as our thriller didn’t
need weapons.
7. Question 5
With it we listened but decided to
go with a female victim we thought
this would add a but of sinister
and sexual undertones to suggest
but not necessarily convey this
and really get in the audience
head and really make them really
think worst. Which is great using
the audience’s imagination is a
great tool.
8. Question 6
This what we took in to
consideration when we
were planning our
thriller we saw that
crime thriller were the
most interesting sort of
thriller so we developed
a story about that.
