The author used several techniques to attract their audience and engage readers. First, they featured an image of an artist wearing a tape over their mouth with a serious expression, creating intrigue. Accompanying text mentioning an "unspoken past" and things the artist has "regretted" builds mystery and curiosity. Dark colors and a black and white aesthetic for the main image emphasize the serious tone and importance of the story being told. The author positioned the story as an "exclusive" interview to make readers feel special for learning more about the idol and encourage them to continue reading.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2. I used many techniques in order to attract my audience and making them
want to carry on reading further. Firstly, I deliberately made my artist to
wear a mask tape on his mouth, his eyes wide open staring at the readers
with his eyebrows raised, including a close up shot of the artist. This
automatically makes the reader involved and gets the feeling that the artist
is about to have a conversation with the reader. This linked in with my text
beneath the image, which read, “Unspoken past”, which immediately
draws in the attention of the reader, as it makes them wonder what he had
been hiding all this time. The idea of the fans thinking they know
everything about their idol suddenly shatters, making them question
themselves, what could he possibly be hiding from his beloved fans? In
addition, the text which reads as; “I‟ve done things I‟ve regretted” right next
to the main image of the artist immediately catches the eye of the reader.
This is because the connotations of the word „regret‟ are associated with
actions that people wish they should never had done in the past. It
suddenly makes the scenario more dramatic and creates a tension around
the reader. This undoubtedly makes the reader feel that it‟s absolutely
necessary they find out what had happened, since an urge of curiosity
enters the readers mind. Furthermore, I had used a contrast of colours,
from a grey/white background, to a black and white image. The reason
why I used these colours, was that I felt that what the artist was about to
talk about, was indeed a chapter of his life which he clearly weren‟t proud
of, and I feel I succeeded by using the dark contrast of colours, which
emphasised the importance of the story. In addition, my main image had a
black and white affect to it, this is because we associate the black and
white with old or something which occurred a while ago, this linked in with
the word “past”. Moreover, I had used the word “Exclusive” above the
artist‟s name, which I wanted the readers to know, that the interview is
unique and special. It gives the fans and audience an opportunity to get to
know their idol better, all they had to do was turn the page over.
