new media technologies in the
construction and research,
planning and evaluation stages?
2. Research & Planning
• For the research and planning of our documentary we used the
internet to search to find people that we could interview. We also
provided facts and figures. We also used the internet to search for
topics that we can use for our documentary and give us a better
understanding and knowledge of the certain topics that we where
planning on discussing. We also used Microsoft word when creating
our questionnaire for our target audience, this then lead us to use
Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel when we would tally the
result of our questionnaire and then present it. Providing us with
information and ideas about what the target audience would want
to see.

4. Construction
• When creating our documentary we used a wide
range of technology. We used a HD Camera,
tripod and microphone as they provide proper
sound levels, when filming the interviews,
voxpops, opening title and creative camerawork
cutaways and we used it if we needed to re-film.
This was important as it was used to get all the
footage that we needed for our documentary.
We used the HD camera as the quality for still
framing.

5. Construction
• We used digital still camera to take
image of us recording and filming
the interviews and editing process.
We used the camera when we took
photograph of our print advert. This
was useful as it shows proof that we
filmed the interview. The camera
became useful when taken
photograph for our print advert, as
the quality of the camera gave the
photograph a better image.

6. Construction
• Adobe Premiere Pro we used that to edit our
production of our documentary, for example
the basic cutting of the interviews. We also
used it for when we added graphic onto the
interview, we did this by using the text tool
and the effect tool by adding a dissolve onto
it. We did this because when we watch actual
documentary we notice that the graphic
appeared with a dissolve so we decided to do
the same so our documentary we appear like
a professional one. We also used it to adjust
the sound. We did this so our sound would be
clearer. We also edited our radio trailer on
premiere pro where we would cut the sound
that we wanted to use.

7. Construction
• Adobe Photoshop was used for the construction of
the print advert for example editing the main
image by bighting the photo up, we did this
because we wanted the image to be lighter as our
documentary is light hearted and positive. We also
edited the channel 4 sign so it would fit onto our
print advert. We did this so our documentary print
advert would look professional if there was a logo
on there. We also added text and shape to add the
title, tagline and the date and time in the left hand
side corner. This was done because when we
looked at an actual channel 4 print advert we
notice that how they show the audience the time
and date the documentary would be on. This
became useful so we can add different colour
effects and text.

• We then used the radio studio when recording our voice over for our
documentary and radio trailer.

9. Evaluation
• As part of our evaluation we had to
put our research and planning on a
internet software called blogger.
This allowed us to presentation our
work and display it. To put our
work on blogger we also had to use
software such as Prezi, slide share,
Powtoons and slide boom. We also
used Adobe premiere pro and
exported our videos on YouTube.
These software have given me
skills for the future as when I go to
do other presentations or have to
put work onto the internet.
10. Evaluation
• As part of our evaluation we had to
